Angus Association Leadership Comment On Beef Industry While New Leadership Is Elected  

American Angus Association CEO Mark McCully and Regional Director Kurt Angus comment on some of the issues facing the current beef industry and angus seedstock producers while attending The American Angus Association 142nd Annual Convention.

During the convention, five members were re-elected to a second term on the Board of Directors, reinforcing their commitment to advancing Angus genetics and supporting breeder success.

The re-elected directors are:

• Rob Adams, Union Springs, Ala.
• Art Butler, Bliss, Idaho
• Alan Mead, Barnett, Mo.
• Henry Smith, Russell Springs, Ky.
• Roger Wann, Poteau, Okla.

Additionally, the Association announced its 2025-2026 elected officers:

• Jim Brinkley, Milan, Mo. – President and Chairman of the Board
• Darrell Stevenson, White Sulphur Springs, Mont. – Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Board
• Smitty Lamb, Tifton, Ga. – Treasurer for Fiscal Year 2026

Strengthening the Future of the Angus Breed

“It’s encouraging to see new faces and continued engagement within our membership,” said Jim Brinkley, President and Chairman. “We’ve learned from recent member surveys that breeders are eager for tools that support both their operations and their commercial customers. Our leadership team is committed to delivering on those needs.”

Directors of the American Angus Association serve up to two consecutive three-year terms, with additional opportunities to serve as president, chairman, or vice president for an extended one-year term.
