In order to recover from addiction, we need to work on our emotional sobriety. That’s how we will be able to make better decisions and avoid relapse.

There are many triggers that can lead an addict back into their addiction. Some of those triggers are alcohol-based, others are emotional or social. We should not ignore them but instead try to find a way to deal with them in a healthy way.

In this episode Steve and Maran discuss addiction and how it affects the family.  By the very nature of the beast, addiction is a family disease.  There is the addict and then there are the codependents.  Every person that knows an addict is a codependent in some form.  It is our belief this means everybody needs to be part of Al Anon, AA, NA, or Celebrate Recovery to learn to have healthy relationships.
