Speaker 1 (00:07):
I'm Phil Duddy,
evangelist with Grace Baptist
Tabernacle of King, northCarolina, really really glad to
have you with me on the programtoday.
Thankful to the Lord thatyou're here, as always.
Please do feel free and welcometo reach out to us at
RedeemingTheLost at iCloudcom.
Today we're going to befollowing up on our last
broadcast.
We're going to be emphasizingthe heart of the Father, the
(00:29):
provision of Jesus and theministry of the Holy Spirit
towards the lost.
On our last broadcast we werelooking at, you know, one thing
among many we were looking at onthe last broadcast is that our
sufficiency is in the HolySpirit.
And in the Holy Spirit we arefully equipped already because
(00:50):
of the completed work of JesusChrist, because of the
indwelling Holy Ghost andbecause of the will of the
Father, we are fully equipped todo the work of an evangelist.
And today we are going to be inthe book of Romans, chapter 5.
We're just going to look at onesentence from the Word of God,
romans, chapter 5, verse 8.
But God commendeth his lovetoward us in that while we were
(01:13):
yet sinners, christ died for usand hallelujah, amen.
We ought to all be rejoicinghere because the heart of the
Father here, the heart of God,the heart of the Lord, toward
the lost.
It led to him providing JesusChrist.
It led to him providing theblood of Jesus.
(01:36):
It led to him providing thecross.
It led to him making aprovision of the blood of Jesus
that would completely wash awaysin.
It would completely forgive sin.
God would be faithful and justto forgive anybody who believes
on Jesus, anybody who hears theword of God, anybody who
(01:59):
believes him, anybody who putstheir faith in it, anybody who
submits to Jesus and followsJesus and walks with Jesus.
God is faithful and just toforgive sin.
And it was the very heart ofthe Father that led to him
making that provision so that wecould be forgiven, so that
(02:25):
anybody could be forgiven.
Not based on what we do or whatwe don't do, not based on us
shedding our own blood you knowhallelujah for that, you know.
Not based on us shedding bloodourselves.
Not based on us giving a lot ofmoney, not based on us
memorizing a lot of scripture, but just simply receiving what
(02:48):
God has already done, simplyreceiving what the Lord has
already provided in Jesus Christ, what Jesus Christ himself
personally provided by obeyingthe will of his Father.
Jesus obeyed the will of theFather and in obeying the will
of the Father, jesus himselfwent to the cross.
Jesus laid down his life on thecross and this was a willing
(03:09):
thing on his behalf.
He would say that nobody tookhis life from him, but he laid
it down.
Nobody took his life from him,but he laid it down.
Why did he lay it down?
Because it was God's will tomake a provision on behalf of
humanity.
It was God's will because Godwants to reconcile us to himself
(03:31):
, and that is a glorious thing.
And the book of Romans talksabout God commending his love
toward us.
God makes his love reallymanifest.
He makes His love really, really easy to see.
And how did he do this?
While we were yet sinners.
Christ died for us While wewere yet sinners.
(03:52):
This is the will of God.
This is the will of God toward asinner, towards somebody who
sins, towards somebody who walksaround living life apart from
God, towards somebody who is anenemy of God.
God has this will, and God madethis provision, to even
(04:13):
reconcile his worst enemy tohimself.
To reconcile, to make it asthough sin never happened, to
make it as though there was, youknow, to restore, for lack of a
better term.
I mean because reconcile is amajor word folks To make it so
that the best way I can put itis that sin never happened and
(04:37):
there's this precious, holy, good, strong, vibrant,
life-filled relationship withGod that goes on all the time,
the way that we, you know, godoriginally formed us to be.
God originally formed and hedesigned us to be before sin
(04:59):
came in, before sin broke thatrelationship before people
started being born.
Sin broke that relationshipbefore people started being born
in sin.
And every one of us today, inthe year 2024, we were all born
in sin and we all have a needfor this reconciliation.
And so this is how God views thelost he wants the lost to be
reconciled.
He doesn't want the lost toperish in sin, and so we need to
(05:23):
look at the reality of who thelost are perish in sin, and so
we need to look at the realityof who the lost are.
People who are lost aresuffering the consequences on a
daily basis of living apart fromthe Lord Suffering anxieties,
suffering loneliness, sufferinghatred, suffering fear,
suffering addictions, sufferingin lust, suffering in lust, and
(05:43):
the reality is the Lord does notwant that to continue.
The Lord does not want that tocontinue.
The Lord does not desireanybody to perish in sin.
The Lord doesn't desire anybodyto know and experience the
(06:06):
results of loneliness, to knowhatred, to know fear, to know
addiction, to know anxiety, toknow lust, to know that the pain
and the consequence and thehurt that goes along with those
things, that's not God's desirefor you.
(06:28):
And that's a major thing,because a lot of destruction
that we experience, a lot ofdestruction that I experienced
in my life before I was bornagain, a lot of it was really
needless and a lot of it wasreally pointless.
And it's needless and pointlessbecause God doesn't desire that
for you.
God has made a provision foryou and you don't need to do
(06:53):
anything special to receive it.
You don't need to memorize thewhole Bible or go and give all
your money to a church.
No, that's not what God wants.
God wants you to simply receivewhat he has done.
Because the reality is, none ofus can do anything about our sin
(07:13):
, none of us can do enough tomake ourselves holy and none of
us can do enough, none of us cangive enough, none of us can
perform enough, none of us cando anything to erase one lie and
None of us can give enough.
None of us can perform enough.
None of us can do anything toerase one lie.
None of us can do anything toerase one moment of theft.
God, none of us can do anythingto erase the consequences of
(07:36):
hatred in our hearts towardother people.
We can't do anything on our ownto deal with sin, and the best
we can do is maybe change one ortwo behaviors.
But we can't change the heart.
We can't change the inside.
We can't go back and erase it.
We can't go back and make itlike it never happened.
(07:56):
But God can and does do that.
And God does a whole lot more aswell, because God makes you new
.
God makes you different.
God makes you a new creature inChrist.
God gives you a new heart, godgives you a new head.
He gives you a new mind.
He gives you the mind of Christ.
(08:18):
God gives you a new and livingspirit and, what's more, god
forgets the sin.
The sin is washed away andthere's fellowship and
relationship there, as if thesin never happened.
God looks at you and he seessomeone who's holy.
(08:41):
God looks at you and he seesJesus himself, because you're in
Jesus and Jesus is in you.
He sees the holiness of Jesus.
He sees the goodness of Jesus,he sees Jesus in you, and so God
sees that he no longer sees thesin the Bible says.
(09:02):
He separates you as far as theeast is from the west, from your
sin.
He even casts it into a sea offorgetfulness.
And that is good news, my friend, because to receive this, you
know, all you have to do isreceive it.
We receive it.
We submit to Jesus.
We hear the word of God.
(09:23):
We submit to Jesus.
We encounter Jesus.
We submit to Jesus.
We believe Jesus.
We submit to Jesus.
We believe Jesus.
Our faith is in Jesus, ourtrust is in Jesus.
We call upon the name of Jesusand Jesus responds by saving us.
Jesus responds by saving usfrom the wrath of God.
We are saved, we are delivered.
(09:44):
We are born again.
We are made new.
We are adopted.
We are delivered.
We are born again.
We are made new, we are adoptedand the healing begins.
Now, my friend, you know I thinkwe all have consequences for
sin that we walk through.
We all have healing that Godworks out in us.
We all have relationships thatyou know.
(10:06):
Maybe you've hurt a lot ofpeople in your sin and you go
back to those people and youconfess your faults, you go back
to those people and you makerestitution and make
reconciliation happen and youmake peace with those people.
And whatever the case may be,you know it might be something
small, it might be somethingreally big, but there are
consequences to sin that youwalk through.
(10:28):
But you don't walk throughthose yourself.
Jesus walks you through those,he leads you through those as
your king, as your Lord, as thelover of your soul, and there's
a healing, and there's a healing, and there's a healing, and
there's a healing.
And there's a healing, andthere's a healing, and there's a
healing, there's a healing andthere's a peace, and and there's
(10:48):
there's just a vibrant lifethat the Lord has for you.
And, and the good thing is, hecommends his love toward us.
You know this means, you know,if you're listening to this and
you're in sin, you're a sinner.
You know, to use the languageof Romans five, while we were
yet sinners, you're a sinner.
Jesus Christ died for us.
(11:10):
This is how God proves that hedoes really love you.
He does really love you and youmight have done some heinous
things.
You might have been involved.
You might be involved whileyou're listening to this, with
some really, really, reallytwisted stuff, some really
perverse stuff, some reallyviolent stuff, some really bad
(11:32):
stuff.
But the case is that God lovesyou.
God loves you no matter whatyou have done, no matter what
you haven't done.
You might be listening to thisand you know you're a person.
You're in church all the time, you're in your Bible all the
time.
(11:52):
You grew up in a Christian homeand a Christian family and you
haven't done any of the reallyreally heinous stuff, but you're
in church and you've got a lustinside that is eating you alive
.
You're in church, you hear thegospel preached, you can quote
(12:14):
the Bible, you can witness toother people, you've got all the
knowledge, but your heart isfar from Jesus.
You honor Jesus with your lips, but your heart, your heart,
your heart is far from him.
And God is looking at the hearttoday and God is showing you
(12:35):
that you have all the knowledge, you have all the Christian
school stuff, you have all thedegrees in the seminaries.
You might even have a position.
You might even be a pastor, youmight be a deacon, you might be
a pastor's wife, you might be adeacon's wife, whatever the
case may be, and God is justshowing you yeah, you're doing
the Christian stuff, and yet theheart is far from me.
(13:00):
You've got an anger, you've gota murder, You've got an anxiety,
you've got an ungodly fear, andthat is your God.
You, you've got a murder,you've got an anxiety, you've
got an ungodly fear, and that isyour God.
You're worshiping that, you'rehonoring God with your lips, but
your heart is far from him andhe wants to do something about
that today.
And the reality is he alreadyhas done something.
He's drawn you to himself.
He's saying come home.
(13:21):
He's saying submit to me.
He's saying believe me.
He's saying follow me.
He's saying call upon my name.
He's saying put your trust inme and I will make you a new
creature, no matter what yoursituation is, no matter what
your background is, whetheryou're a dead church person,
spiritually dead, or whetheryou're somebody you've never
(13:44):
even walked into a church inyour life.
And you know, whatever the casemay be, you know wherever you
are, whosoever you are.
That is so much a part of thegood news God has for you.
No matter who you are, no matterwhere you are, no matter what
you've done, no matter what youhaven't done, god loves you
still and God wants you.
(14:05):
God doesn't want you to end itall.
God doesn't want you to commitsuicide.
God doesn't want you to stay indepression.
God doesn't want you to stay inloneliness.
God doesn't want you to stayunder the guilt and under the
crushing weight of the guilt.
God doesn't want you to stayconsumed by the lust.
God doesn't want you in anaddiction.
(14:27):
God doesn't want you full ofhatred.
God doesn't want you full ofmisery.
God doesn't want you full oftorment.
No, god wants you with him.
God wants you in Jesus.
God wants you seated right nextto him in heavenly places.
God wants you as an adopted son, as an adopted daughter.
(14:48):
God wants you to be born again.
God wants you to be forgiven.
God wants you to be clean.
God wants you to be pure.
God wants you to be holy.
Good news is God makes you pure, god makes you holy.
God makes you good.
God makes you forgiven.
God makes you to be born again.
God does these things.
(15:09):
He's looking for somebody who'sgoing to believe him today.
He's looking for somebody who'sgoing to have faith today.
He's looking for somebody who'sgoing to have trust today.
He's looking for somebody who'sgoing to follow him, somebody
who's going to yield to him, somebody who's going to submit
to him, somebody who's going tolove him in return, because he
loves you.
He loves you with a love thatis boundless, that is endless,
(15:32):
that is without any beginning, without any end.
He is love and he loves you andhe passionately loves you to
the point that he, jesus Christ, laid down his life, suffered a
criminal's death, became yoursin, became your despair, became
(15:56):
your gloom, became your doom, became your addiction, became
your violence, became your pride, became your ego, became your
murder, became your drunkenness, became your blasphemies, became
your idolatries, became all ofyour adultery and your
fornication, your whoredom andyour whoremongering.
Whatever the case is, godbecame it, he became it and he
(16:23):
died an atoning death in yourplace so that you will not
perish but you will haveeverlasting life.
And so trust Jesus today, myfriend.
Trust Jesus today because, hallelujah, he has a heart for
you, he has a love for you, hehas a passion for you and he is
(16:45):
drawing you to himself today.
He doesn't want you to perishin sin.
He doesn't want you to gothrough life experiencing all
the death and destruction thatcomes along with sin and then
have hell in an eternity.
But no, no, no, no, my friend,he wants you to have everlasting
life.
And if you're hearing this today, it's not an accident.
(17:08):
If you're hearing this today,it's not a mistake.
You're not an accident, you'renot a mistake.
You're somebody that God loves, and you're somebody that God
knows is in sin.
And the fact that you're in sindoes not mean that he doesn't
love you.
The fact that you're in sindoes not change the fact that he
(17:31):
loves you.
It does not disqualify you fromthis word, from this verse,
that he commends his love towardyou.
You can write your name there.
No matter what your name is,you can write it there.
But God commendeth his lovetoward you in that, while you
are yet a sinner, christ diedfor you, and he died for you for
(17:54):
a purpose.
He died for you for a reason sothat you might be gloriously
saved from the wrath of God, youmight be miraculously born
again, you might be transferredfrom death into life, you might
be filled with a new spirit, youmight have an eternal life that
starts today.
(18:14):
So, my friend, call upon thename of Jesus Christ with a
heart full of faith.
Call upon the name of JesusChrist from the depths of your
sin, from a heart that's brokenover your sin, from a heart that
knows that you're in sin, aheart that knows that your sin
hit God before it hit anybodyelse, a heart that is just
simply tender and pierced andpricked and responding to the
(18:39):
Lord.
And if you're responding rightnow and you're thinking you need
Jesus, my friend, don't evenwait another second, but call
upon Jesus, wherever you are, just like he's standing right
next to you, just like he'ssitting right in front of you.
He's alive and he's looking fora heart that's going to believe
(19:00):
him.
And if you're humble and ifyou're contrite and if you're
full of faith today in Jesus, and if you're contrite and if
you're full of faith today inJesus, he will not despise you.
But call upon him today and beborn again today.
