I'll tell you, I'll whisperthat shit, don't let me tell mom
.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Well, today, I hate you.
Today's episode actually wasgoing to be on the Oscar
predictions from Slick and I for2024, but considering that most
of those movies aren't comingout to December, as a strategy
for a lot of those big timemovies since the ending of the I

(02:51):
guess, qualified movies are atthe end of the year and they
want to be more memorable, yeah,so we're going to hold off on
that, but we are going tomention some of those new movies
that we think might be in thosecategories, just so you can
keep your eye out.
Maybe give it a look.
All right, we're going to startwith the Poor Things.
Have you guys heard of the PoorThings?
Nope.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Is it that movie, Willem Dafoe?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Actually it is.
It is with Willem Dafoe, willemDafrend, and he looks all he
has like that jigsaw face.
I'll show a picture later, butthat shit looks crazy.
It's starring Emma Stone andit's a dark comedy.
Actually they call it a blackcomedy, but that's weird.
A dark comedy.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
What I feel like.
I've seen the trailer for thatunless Emma Stone is coming out
with another movie, she iscoming out with another movie
with this guy from the fuckingrehearsal.
Oh yeah, I did see that, nathanFielder.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I think this is it yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, but this one is about a young Victorian woman
who, after being resurrected byscientists from her suicide,
runs off with a lawyer andembarks on a self-discovering
journey for sexual liberationand self-discovery.
So Wow, there's that, yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
That's a lot to unravel.
Yeah, it is a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
It is a lot.
Actually, I was surprised tosee that a lot of these upcoming
movies are like dramedies moreor less.
The other one which has comeout already, that a lot of
people were saying is it goingto be nominated for Best Picture
, is the Holdovers about a veryangry New England prep school
teacher who stays on campusduring a snowstorm and has to

(04:17):
babysit humans, kind of likebreakfast club, kind of vibes.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Yeah, I saw the trailer.
Who's that actor again?
Who's playing that character?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Oh man, he's the one that was in fucking true lives
with fucking ArnoldSchwarzenegger.
Hold on.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Paul Guillermade.
Oh yeah, Paul Guillermade.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
He's great, though, everything he says is great.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, that one came out August 31st, so put on your
list to watch.
After that we have Maestro, directed by Bradley Cooper,
romance movie, and it'sliterally just about an American
conductor falling in love witha Costa Rican actress.
Honestly seems really boring, but I'll probably watch it
anyway.
Just got to have something togive it.
Dude.
It's got to be good for somereason.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
It's 87.
It's 87%.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
It hasn't come out yet.
It comes out November 22nd, sowe'll see 87 with like probably
like 10 reviews, so we'll see.
Next we have American fictioncoming out December 15th Another
dramedy, I guess we'll call it.
It's about a black novelistwho's fed up with like the big
establishments profiting off ofblack entertainment, that's like
on offensive tropes, kind oflike.

(05:18):
What's his name?
A very prominent black actress, black director who does that.
What's his name?
Fuck, jordan Peele.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
John Singleton.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
No, no, the one who does corny ones, the corny
family ones, oh, tyler Perry, tyler Perry, he's just trying to
say corny dude, that's that wasit.
That's all I had to say.
Yeah, anyways, she like that.
Anyways, since approval point,he actually writes a book that
is doing all those offensivetropes and then ends up
exploding and he kind of becomesa very thing he sort of destroy

(05:47):
.
Next movie is Don't haveInterest by 24, coming out
December 15th.
It's about a Nazi combatant whotries to build a dream life for
his family near the Auschwitzconcentration camp.
Historical drama, not funny.
The Anatomy of the Fall, whichcame out already.
Believe it or not, this soundslike a comedy, but it's not.
It's a woman who's suspected ofher husband's murder and their

(06:09):
blind son faces a moral dilemmaas the soul witness.
Not a comedy.
What's his name?
Anatomy of the Fall.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
The blind son is the soul witness.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yes, yes, yes, correct, you've heard that.
You've heard me right.
It's not a comedy.
Listen, france, is itinternational?
I didn't quite know that.
Is it an international film?

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Looks like it yeah.
Yeah, it should be by LePacteur, which is a French
motion picture company.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
There you go.
And then, lastly, we have theBoy and the Heron by your boy,
hayao Miyazaki, who has come outwith Spirit Away and a million
others, my neighbor Totoro, soon and so forth.
This one's about a 12 year oldboy who struggles to settle in a
new town to find his after hismother's death, and he goes into

(07:00):
, like this lighthouse and theHeron talks to him and he starts
this like self self journey, sounds like this journey and
fantasy adventure to try tocommunicate with his mother.
The Japanese cast, which mostpeople will watch it in, seems
pretty stellar.
I don't really know anybodybecause I'm not from Japan, but
the American cast is fuckingcrazy.
We got Robert Pattinson, fucking Christian Bale, florence

(07:23):
Pugh, willem Defoe, daveBatista and Mark Hamill.
So that's pretty big deal andI'm excited for anybody who's a
Miyazaki fan Other than that.
Lastly, on the last week ofSeptember into the first week of
October, the writer's Guild ofAmerica fucking strike finally

(07:46):
ended.
Do you guys know what that shitwas all about?
Kind of.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Not gonna lie.
I know the writers needed tobreak because they've been
carrying the film industry for awhile.
Nobody's been given a love, andso they protested a very long
time.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah, essentially.
Yeah, you had anything to say?
Hyrule, sorry.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
No, I mean, that's along the lines of what I've
heard.
They're just not getting paidor compensated enough.
You know, same shit that's beenhappening for a pretty long
time.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yeah, so it's the first time the screen actors
Guild and the writers Guild ofAmerica have gone on strike at
the same time.
The last strike that happenedwas in 2007, but it was just the
actors Guild, more or less.
It's about this exactly whatyou guys said they're not
getting paid enough.
They used to make a lot onresiduals from DVDs and stuff,
but now they don't make shitthrough the streaming shit and

(08:35):
they're trying to write contactcontracts into those like actors
who aren't.
I mean, we're talking about theactors that aren't the A list
actors.
But they basically tried towrite into their contract where
they can use their faces AIgenerated faces as background
people for the future andthey're like, whoa, we're barely
getting paid now.
That's not cool.
And then the writers were onstrike because they're trying to

(08:57):
get rid of basically thewriting room and they're trying
to make it like a freelance job.
And also something I didn'tconsider before I saw that Sarah
Silverman with other twowriters for books were suing
meta because they're basicallytraining the AI by uploading all
their books into that database.

(09:17):
You know what I'm saying.
So when they were asking themquestions, they would go
themselves personally askingquestions and they basically
like Took things out of theirbooks to answer them.
You know, and it's somethingthat a lot of the writers were
worrying about.
It was really interesting stuff.
Another reason, you know, that'sa that's a big reason that Elon
Musk started charging to readtweets.

(09:39):
He realized that a lot of theAI was actually just reading
tweets and getting data off ofthat, so he actually added that.
So all those eight companiescould, you know, pay money to
basically be on Twitter.
Unfortunately, a lot of not alot of us casuals Aren't those
rich corporations, so theysuffered.
I'm not on Twitter anymore.
Or X, what have you?

(10:00):
So I don't really care.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah, my sugar hacked a long time ago, so I just it
was cool, though, while it last, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
That's, that's it.
That's all I got for our new,new segment.
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Why don't know dude, it's yours, dude.
Let's stop that.
I have a picture of it.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
I can show you right now or no, sure right now, sure
right now All right dude.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I don't see anything I don't see anything on my?

Speaker 1 (10:42):
I don't see anything on my video you see shit.
I heard they chair.
I'm like wait, hold on.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Dang.
I don't actually see anythingat all, which is a little
frustrating.
It's on like low Wi-Fi mode.
Anyways, today's episode we'regonna talk about our top five
favorite horror movies as we getinto this little Halloween
special, um slick, who is kindof just a wedding his feet or
wedding his toes I don't knowwhat the expression is into
horror movies.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Yeah, we like to call it.
You were on from, but you know.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
You know it's like, since you're kind of do to it,
can you, instead of even thisfive?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
That's a better way to put it.
What well?
Well, what I was saying waswhat you saying go ahead, what
did?

Speaker 2 (11:33):
he say I'm, I was hard to hear, but nah cuz y'all
didn't go cuz.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Then people say whether it's tools, I just you
know it's hella uncomfortable, you know, just say dive in, like
dive in.
Just say dive in, like, don'tsay dip your toes in why, why
are you guys man?
Why do you sound like?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
aggressive about it.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
No, yeah, you know, okay.
Anyways, top five, whoo, Allright.
So my top five what were yousaying?
What's my top five?
I?

Speaker 4 (12:05):
was gonna be my top five.
Yeah, dude, that's it, dude.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
My top five.
All right, so what I've seen sofar, I think I could give the
most top three, cuz I can't saytop five if I didn't like it,
you know.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Top three works.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
So check it top three Halloween.
The first one boom.
No wait, man, just let mefinish.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Three for you.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yo yo, let me finish hereditary boom right there.
Respect.
And the third one Can you playdrums in your in the sound
effect board, but you can't.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
I can't play the drums in a sound effect board.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
So there we go.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Oh, oh, eating out of the camera.
Why are you leading all the way?

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Wrong turn baby, wrong turn, wrong turn.
All right, not bad, we talkedabout that.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Wrong.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Wrong turn is good, maybe wrong turn is good.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
What do you got Hyro?
What would you give?
Give your top five shit.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Or do you have?

Speaker 2 (13:16):
anything to say about , about slicks top three slicks.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Top three is fucking trash dude.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
No, it's actually solid.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
I mean I don't know how many movies he's actually
watched to at the same time.
I mean, how many like how manyhorror movies have you seen?
Give or take?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
select the top of my head to show you, like, the
titles.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
No, no, no, Just like give me a number like how many
have you like a?

Speaker 1 (13:36):
number and estimate I'll say honestly, I'm pretty
proud of myself say between 15or 20.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Okay, that's about especially the ass ones, how
much I kind of thought so, allright, that's, that's pretty,
that's a pretty good top three, for you know that amount of I've
been evolving.
So you said what Halloween, hereditary and wrong turn, yeah,
yeah.
So I was thinking about it fora while because I was just like

(14:02):
Top five, I that's got to belike a very personal thing, like
you know cuz, like Horrormovies, you know they're not
really fucking Oscar-winningmovies.
There's no like objective wayto kind of rate them.
It's just how you feel aboutthem really, you know cuz you
could you can sit ready withhorror movie and be like this is
fucking stupid, honestly, youknow, and you could be bad, but
um, so hold on.

(14:23):
I was just writing a list oflike all the ones that I've seen
was a big fucking list.
I'm trying to think of the onesthat are my favorite.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Um, Is this gonna be in a particular order or no?

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Kind of just like how I feel.
You know what mood I'm in, butI think I guess, yeah, you could
take a guess.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
As killer is killer clowns and outer space you tough
?

Speaker 4 (14:47):
No, actually, that's one of the the ones that I've
never seen before, believe it ornot.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (15:00):
good though, like is it worth watching?
I think it hurt like.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's worth watching if you don't care like it's,
like the type of movie you puton the background.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Honestly, yeah no, I mean like I'll watch it.
You know I like horror movies, stupid, stupid shit.
But um, so one of my favoritesis definitely house on haunted
hill.
The remake in, I guess I thinkit came out of 99 or early 2000s
.
Um, oh nice, I Try to think ofwho's who's in there.

(15:29):
Um, the girl that plays Sonyablade, immortal combat is in
there.
I forget her, her actual name.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Is that?
Is that Netflix series off ofthat movie?

Speaker 4 (15:42):
house on haunted hill .

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
Yeah, no that those guys are the ones that made the
new usher, whatever.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Of the fall of usher.
Yeah, that looked good too,yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
I think I think it was.
Those are the same guys, butanyway.
So that one's definitely one ofmy favorites.
I just love kind of like thecinematography, I guess, of that
of how they film certain thingsand just like their way of
depicting like the horror inthere, because it's like Kind of

(16:19):
ambiguous, you know, like it's.
They come to this house.
You know it's supposed to bethis fun like party game thing.
The whole.
The whole story is like RichardPrice is this rich guy that just
you know he has a horror themedamusement park.
He loves scaring people, he'san entertainer kind of, so he
invites all these people to hishouse and he has these things
set up to scare the shit out ofhim.

(16:40):
It's supposed to be this gamebut it turns out it's not a
house, it's the old asylumhospital but it's really haunted
by some shit and it's just justlike this general, like
darkness or like evilness that'sin there Supposed to represent
like all the doctors or whatever.
But yeah, there's like a fewscenes in there that really I

(17:00):
Really love the way they'refilmed.
I love like the horror becauseit's like this, this eeriness.
It's like you know, for me inhorror what goes a long way is
like when you, when you film ascene and you give it this like
Brief moment where the audiencedoesn't know what's happening,
like it's like really just lost, completely lost.
You know quick, quickTransitions, very quick

(17:23):
transitions, like very fastmovements, high-pitched noises,
really disorienting shit thatlike for some reason freaks me
out.
You know so that that had acouple of good scenes there.
Plus the sounds too.
They, the way they did, likeyou know the sounds for those
scary movements, they, theyreally they're creepy for me.
I think, like out of all themovies still to this day that

(17:43):
I've seen, they really go a longway.
They really add to the movie alot.
You know the ghosts or demonicsounds that they put in there.
It's pretty scary for me.
So that's definitely a top fivefor me.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Um, I have to watch that one.
Just put it on my list.
Well, you're talking about the99 one or 2007 one 99, 2007?

Speaker 4 (18:02):
definitely not, it's older than that.
I first watched it when I waslike a kid okay, has, she's it.
She's the girl in a finaldestination to the.
She's like in the first one, inthe second, l E.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Larder yeah, I'm key.
Yeah, yeah, framkey, janeJansen, who kind of looks like
Jean Grey.
Is that Jean Grey?
Yeah, she's in it too, oh yeahit's not movie.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
She's fantastic.
I love her role.
I honestly.
The cast is great, Like it'sreally really good yeah looks
elix one.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Oh damn, they got Peter Gallagher in there too.
I like Peter Gallagher fromthose.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
She's on New Jersey, adi Larder.
Oh really, yes, cherry.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Hill.
Shout out, shout out.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
New Jersey, damn she aged great question Is Donnie
Darko, a horror movie?

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Absolutely 110% it is a horror movie, you know it's.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
It's funny because I've seen it so many times that
now it's not, but when you watchit for the first time it's
definitely a horror movie.
It's because you know, it'shappening at all.
You're always scared the entire.
I don't know what this bunny is.
Is he gonna kill someone?
Like what the fuck is going on.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Do you guys consider?

Speaker 2 (19:07):
six sense or movie Absolutely I consider six cents
or movie 100%.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
I don't think that.
I don't.
I see that as a drama, I don'tsee as a horror.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
No, there are scenes in there that are just pure
horror.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
I don't get scared at all.
I watch it in darkness too.
I didn't get scared one bit.
I look at it.
I look at it as a drama.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
It's really dramatic you know, I think that you know,
people try to classify a horrormovies ratings on how much you
get scared, but they don'trealize that, like, I think,
like there are just themes of ahorror movie that they don't
have in dramas.
Dramas have to do with, likethings that are Solidified in in

(19:49):
reality, but like, when we talkabout horror, talking about
like paranormal Ghosts, monsters, you know, things like that are
things of horror movies.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
You know, true, and that's beyond that you have,
like, you have the whole genreof like slashers, real Life shit
.
You know, you know people juststraight up killing people.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah, I agree, I agree too, but no, I had six
senses is definitely, definitelyhorror, I would say.
I mean, they got some creepyscenes in that, that movie too.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Yeah, I mean even even just the general plot of
the movie.
You know, like a guy that'sdead, he's a ghost, he doesn't
even know, he's fucking dead, like that's scary dude.
Imagine You're just, you'redead right now.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
I thought that was sad.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
I didn't think I didn't see that Absolutely sad
but from from Bruce Willis'sperspective, and you know, for
that brief moment when he'sfinding out, that must be
terrifying.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah we got other scenes that are just creepy man
like yeah, no no when all thecabinets are open and when they
just opened up out of nowhere.
That was fucking creepy.
The scene where he's talkingabout the stuff in, when the
young boys talking to fuck on yacollect in the car about the
shit that our mom was tellingher Tony.
Colette, sorry, yeah, that shitwas, she was hard scene with

(21:01):
the girl that vomiting.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
That scene was creepy , where he's in the tent and
she's at the tent with him.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
That was.
That was a scary scene, dude, that shit got me.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Yeah, and what's?

Speaker 3 (21:13):
his name.
Haley Joe Osmond is amazingactor do what he's just like.
Yo, I'm there with you, dude,oh shit.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yeah, I think that's the.
That was what heavily influenceinfluenced my list was like
there's horror movies I love andI feel like a lot of them came
from.
These were the movies I watchedand I was a kid, you know and
it was like particularly scary, you know.
Yeah, like like the others, when I was a kid, bro scared the

(21:42):
fuck out of me, bro.
I couldn't sleep after watchingothers.
That's a really you know, like, and I was at the age.
So six cents when I watched sixcents was creepy, bro, because
I was at, you know, and I likestuck with me.
That's why I think I love himso much.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, and then I feel like when you get older you
become obsessed, because it'slike you're trying to recapture
those feelings, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
That's a good.
That's a good point.
That's a good point.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Yeah, I mean, I really think back to those times
with my uncle.
He's just, you know, right, watch you force me, not force me
, but like put on scary moviesand then, like you like hide and
scare the shit enemy and likeit's like weird.
Like you know, because I lovethat shit, I thought it was
exciting and, like you know, people like Ferny's, like she
hates it, like she hates beingscared, there's people that like

(22:27):
just really don't like it.
They don't fuck with that atall.
It's not fun, yeah, and it'smind-boggling to me.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
But alright so let's see another five.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Are you putting Donnie Dark on your list?

Speaker 4 (22:40):
No, no, no.
I just had this very long listof harm movies that I was just
writing, so I saw it there and Iwas.
I was wondering.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Okay, so far you got.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Definitely one of them.
Scream is also top five.
I can watch screen in Ininfinitely, literally infinitely
.
I was watching it a few weeks,a few days ago.
It's perfect.
It's absolutely perfect.
I don't yes, I don't know what.
I don't anybody that can watchthat movie and be like that
smoothies trash.
I don't want to be no good, Idon't know you.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
you Personally I don't care.
It was so well done because italso is a big movie on like
making fun of horror movies initself, you know it's like you
know, it was like it was fun tosee they kind of like almost
break the fourth wall.
In that sense it was a really, really good movie.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Yeah, I love how they just play with your
expectations the entire time.
You know, from the beginning tothe very end.
It's like you know they, youknow they make it so obvious
with Billy that it's like itcan't be him, it's you can't be
him, because it's like holy shit, dude, it's this guy's the main

(23:50):
guy.
The whole time it lets you offyour guard.
And then I, you know, likehonestly, like the whole, I
guess you know, at some point inthe film maybe you figure it
out, but the concept of the twokillers too, initially, like I'm
sure that was also probably abig thing, Like you're trying to
figure out who is, it's likethis guy, but it can't be him,
but it's this guy.
Then it's like, oh shit, wait aminute, it's both of these guys

(24:12):
.
You know it's just a lot.
It's a lot of cleverness inthere, like you're.
You know you're part of themystery, you're trying to figure
it out, but then you also havelike the comedy.
The dialogue too, just like thescript itself, is really really
good.
It's like, you know, the acting, the acting amazing, you know.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
And it's like the perfect amount of sexy.
That movie too, which is, like,I think, a very you know, I
think it's in all the horrormovies I feel like they always
try to, especially the slashersthey try to add, always try to
add some sex appeal into those.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
I really fell in love with Courtney Cox as a kid in
that movie.
She was like so hot to me but,um, yeah, I mean it's funny,
it's so much fun, yeah, it's sogreat.
Every character, like you know, they have their their moment
and like the deaths too, justlike you know, like the famous
girl trying to go through thegarage door and the the impolite

(25:10):
ended up like shit like that, like you know, it's it was
clever man, it was.
It was good.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
So I definitely have to have it in like my top five.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
It's good, it's good.
I think this is this one.
This is where it's going to geta little tough for me.
I got to say I think Evil Deadis probably up there.
I think the first Evil Dead isup there.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Have you seen that one slick?
No, okay, that's an old one.
You definitely, 100%, wouldn'tbe scared by that one.
I'll tell you that much.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
No, no, no, it's so old, it has an edge, that's
definitely a classic in a lot ofpeople's lists.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Oh yeah, 100%.
I mean, yeah, I get it, I getit, I could still watch it.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Yeah, it's, it's a solid film, man, it's just.
It's a kind of just a classicstraight shooting horror movie.
You know, very simple plotbunch of friends go camping in a
cabin accidentally fucking somein some ritual and then they
get fucked up by demons or goatsor whatever the hell that shit
is.
But it's, it's just.

(26:16):
You know, it's got the gore init, it's got, I like, certain
scenes in there.
Like you know, the initialscene where, like you, kind of
things kind of pop off whenthey're playing the game.
Where they're, the girls hasthe cards in her hand and she's
drawing one by one from the deckand she's the other girl that's

(26:37):
not looking at it is trying toguess what the card is, you know
.
And the girl, like the sceneprior, this girl you know, one
of the third girl, is out andshe gets fucked up in the forest
.
Like you know, the audienceknows something's not right.
She got fucked up.
She's back in the house Now.
She's in a completely differentroom now while they're playing
this game.
So obviously the girl that'sguessing is getting him wrong

(26:58):
because, like, who the fuckingguess it right?
All of a sudden, as she draws acard, the girl in the
completely separate room thatgot fucked up outside.
She starts guessing the cardsand she starts getting him
correct and the girl drawsanother one and she's like four
clubs ace of diamonds and shejust keeps getting him and then,
like as she's doing it, thevoice is changing and all of a
sudden the girl turns around andshe's the fucking possessed.

(27:18):
That whole scene it's so good, man, because it's like it's just
unexpected and the way that thetension and the fear builds up
as the girl's drawing the cardsand it just keeps escalating.
I love that scene.
That's one of my favoritescenes in all horror movies.
But yeah, there's also likethis like fun element to Evil

(27:39):
Dead.
It's very scary, especially thefirst one, because the first
one I think there might be somecomedic elements in there but
it's not really a comedy.
Like the rest of them are likeEvil Dead and the Army of
Darkness and all the Ash series, like they're just straight
comedy horror things.
But the first one I think wasmeant to be like actual horror
but it still has this like funvibe to it, like the fact that
the girl they end up puttingthat girl in the basement and

(28:02):
she goes away but then she keepscoming back, like she keeps
getting reintroduced to themovie one way or another and
just the way that it kind offeels like nothing was off
limits, like the goats kind ofhad this weird power of like
being.
They can re-animate the dead, they could move body parts, they
could possess inanimate objects, like it was.

(28:22):
Just the whole movie became asurreal fucking thing.
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Yeah, the spirit.
But yeah, you're right, like Ifeel like those old movies
really nailed down, like thatscene with the cards, like they
really nailed down the like.
This is a bad dream.
I had type vibes.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Exactly, you know, and it's so good.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
It's like that shit.
Even when you explain it you'relike, yeah, that's fucking
creepy man.
Yeah, and the gore of it I'llnever forget, bro.
The gore of that movie is sofunny.
It's just straight up fuckingmustard and ketchup like smush
together.
It's classic bro.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
It's classic?
Yeah, it's, because when it,when it gets remastered, it's
much easier to see the cosmeticsand the makeup and stuff.
Like you got to really trulywatch those movies on like an
old VHS tape.
You know the way theyoriginally came out.
On an old tube TV Like then.
It really brings that grainygrittiness.
You know you really can't seetoo well in detail.

(29:14):
You know it gives it muchbetter.
Yeah, plus the sound too.
When the sound gets remastered, like you want that distortion,
you want that graininess whenthose demonic voices are coming
in, it really just adds to thehorror, you know.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Yeah, have you guys ever seen the Resident Evil
movies?

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
I've seen at least the Resident Evil movies.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
How you like them.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
They're fun Not bad, you know they go like yeah,
they're fun, they did a lot withthem.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
They did a lot.
That's their like horror action, you know yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
They had a cult following man.
They had a cult following.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
I was surprised at how far it went.
Dude, there was a lot of movies.
There's at least like five, Ithink.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
When I word construction bro, it was like I
remember, like Lalo and a wholebunch of other cats bro, they
would no matter what when theycame out, that's all they would
talk about, like going to themovies and talking about they.
Loved them, love them yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
I enjoyed at least the first two.
Even the one with Nemesis Ilike thought was pretty good.
Why now, when this main chickbecame a superhero, started
becoming a superhero?
That's when I kind of fell offthat whole series.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
But yeah, it was a lot.
It was a lot, all right, sothat's three what you got for
these next two here.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Okay, this is tough man.
Oh man, I don't know.
Oh, okay, I got to give onespot up to the Babadook man.
I think the Babadook is likefucking, also really, really
good movie man.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
I feel like the Babadook fucking reintegrated
like horror movies.
It was like the first indiehorror movie to start like the
indie horror movie wave yeah, the new era indie horror movie
wave.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
It made me like really start to like go through
like Netflix and like checktheir horror movies and shit.
Because before I was like I'msure everything here is trash,
but then I was like wait aminute.
I saw a Babadook on Netflix.
I'm like this is amazing.
This is a really good movie.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Babadook is really good man.
That kid actor is really reallycreepy.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Yeah, it's just overall, like you know, I think
it really checks the box.
For me, like my personalpreferences, it checks like all
the boxes.
You got like a cup a little bitof jump scare, a little bit
like this violent creepiness, you know, and then this whole
like also metaphorical thingthat's happening, you know, with

(31:28):
what the Babadook actually is.
You know it's one of thosemovies where it's like not
necessarily everything it'sshowing is what it means, you
know, and it really makes youthink, yeah, it was really good
and also, like it was unexpected.
It was just a movie that I puton and I was like whatever.
And then I was like really, really blown away by the end of

(31:48):
it.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Yeah, really really fun film, low budget, and they
did.
They did great with that one.
Can I guess your your last one?
I have one of two guesses.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
You could, you could try.
I don't.
I'm still not even really 100%sure.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
There's like a few that I was going to guess
between the thing and theexorcist for the last one, okay.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
So I don't think exorcist would be in my top five
, honestly.
Is it the Witch, the Witch.
The Witch is really really good.
This is where it gets likereally hard man, because it's
like there's a couple that I youknow, I'm not really sure, but
like the Witch is definitelythere.
Hereditary was also reallyreally good man.

(32:28):
And then there's the faculty.
The faculty has a spot in myheart as one of my favorites.
I don't know if it's top five,it's definitely top 10.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
The one with Usher yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
He is in that movie Very briefly.
Yeah, it's a Josh Hardnet.
The girl she's in Fast andFurious.
She's Vin Diesel's littlesister.
I forget her name.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
For real.
Oh, in Fast and Furious, yeah, okay, I thought she was actually
oh, jirdena Brewster.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
Yeah, yeah, she's in it too.
Yeah, have you guys ever seenthe faculty?
No, I have not.
Actually, what's it about?
Oh, it's really good, dude.
It's basically there's like analien or something like
infecting the people in theschool and it like starts with
the teachers and then, like youknow, there's a group of kids

(33:24):
that are noticing and it juststarts spreading and spreading
and they basically are trying tolike stop it from fucking.
It's kind of like the thing, ina sense, where it's like you
know, one of those movies whereyou don't know who's infected.
Anybody could be infected atany time, you know.
So very, very similar to thething by, but it's more modern.

(33:45):
You know, it's got like a moreI don't know, it's edgier.
It's a good movie.
I like that one a lot.
I have to watch that one.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
The cast looks great.
I'm looking at Elijah Wood too.
He fucking signed me the fuck.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
John Stuart's in this .
John Stuart, I don't know ifJohn Stuart has this is one of
the teachers.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Oh shit, Holy shit.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
John Stuart is in this no it's really good, dude.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
You got to watch it.
That's.
That's for sure, a great movie.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Like you love John Stuart, you should watch it I do
love John Stuart.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
I forgot Elijah Wood was in it.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah, he seems to be the top cast on there.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Oh shit the dude.
He's kind of like the main guyreally, honestly, who.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
The guy they got sent us to 30 years in prison.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Oh, yeah, aka, rapist AKA.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Danny Masterson.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Yeah, he's also.
Yeah, he is on there, he's gota small role and another one to
fucking.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Jean Grey is here too , dude.
Wow, she was killing him.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Yeah, he's back in the day.
Yeah, she plays a sexy teacherman.
She's always sexy.
Sam K Jansen.
Oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
That's.
That's a solid list.
So just to go over, we got.
You said the first one washaunting on.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
House on Haunted Hill .

Speaker 2 (34:50):
House on Haunted Hill .
The Evil Dead Evil.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Dead Scream yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Faculty and the Boba Duke, the Boba Duke.
There you go.
It's a pretty good top five.
A really hard thing to do is tocategorize movies in like in a
list like that, and you saidthat's in no particular order,
right.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Yeah, they could change at any moment, like I
said, and those other moviesthat I mentioned like they could
switch in and out, they're very, very close for me, so yeah, it
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
You know, I felt like this year was a great year for
horror movies.
I'm not sure I can't, I'm notgoing to go ahead and count them
all, but I feel like horrormovies are coming out like a few
every month.
We had the new extras that justcame out.
That Thanksgiving won Fridaynights at Freddy the Pope's
Exorcist fucking.
Megan came out of the beginningof the year.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Huh, here those just for do, do, did you see them?
I mean yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, I watched the Pope's Exorcist.
I watched Megan, did you likethe?

Speaker 1 (35:44):
Exorcist.
It was alright it was alright.
I mean I like.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Like Russell Crowe.
Yeah, russell Crowe.
I just love watching him act.
Mine enjoyed that, but it was.
It was, yeah, not good, but Istill enjoyed how about?

Speaker 1 (35:56):
how about the ex exorcist, the twin exorcists?

Speaker 2 (36:00):
The believer, the body and the blood.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
I haven't seen it yet I'm seeing that's the newest
one.
That came out, right?
Yeah, it came out last week.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Was it scary.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
I haven't seen it yet .
Oh yeah, just name some of themovies that came out Winnie the
Pooh, blood and honey didn't getto see that oh.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
That's a real movie, pooh, yeah, you didn't know, no
way, let me see this.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
When you the pool, but honey three percent.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
With a hundred thousand dollar budget, oh Baby.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Jesus, would you like to know how they got the rights
for Winnie the Pooh?
Because, too many people weresaying that the fucking
president of China looked likeWinnie the Pooh and he got so
pissed off wouldn't allow.
Disney to fucking use themanymore.
So they lost their rights or hejust gave up their rights.

(36:51):
And then they made this Winniethe Pooh movie where basically
Christopher was his name Fronolaimagine I forget whatever
fucking do for Robin Christopher.
Robin.
Christopher Robin basicallyleaves his friends and they're
like they don't get fed and shitand nobody's taking care of
them.
So she's not taking care of theimaginary world anymore.

(37:12):
So they go out to fucking killhim.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Let me look.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Reasonable, I would do the same.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
What's his name?
The president of China, leequang.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
That's racist dude.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
I.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Know he doesn't do he kind of does I?

Speaker 1 (37:33):
mean the nose is there.
I should not have to know that.
Take it back.
The chin is there.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
I don't think, hey, china.
I don't think he looks likeWinnie the Pooh.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
I.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
Every game you play dude.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
They don't know my name tag though, it's alright.
They don't know what console Iplay.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
You bitch other than other than Winnie the Pooh.
Scream six came out this yearso I was really excited about I
love the screams.
Evil Dead Rise, which I saw, came out the new insidious, the
new nun Didn't get to seeslaughterhouse but I really
wanted to Sloth their house youknow what?
Yes, about the killer sloth.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
We got to watch a Five nights at Freddy.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yes, yes.
I'll be down to watch thatactually saw 10 recently came
out to which I heard wasactually pretty good.
I really I'm not too crazyabout the saws but I appreciate
them because I remember when thefirst one came out it was just
kind of like the first of itskind.
You know and I respect that Iagree.
It lives inside by 824.

(38:44):
We did really well today.
People had mixed reviews aboutit.
The new pet cemetery I'm justcame out this month.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Did you see the movie Chris Rock?
Hmm, there was a song movieChris Rock right or my room that
was jigsaw was it good?

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Do you guys see it?
Probably not, and I didn't seeit.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Yeah yeah, I kind of lost it.
I hear saw 10 is good, I'lltake.
I'll give it a look.
I just started rewatching thesaws last week, actually just
for fun, but to go into it mytop five, just to go really
quickly.
I'm gonna actually I'm actuallygonna do these in a particular
order.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Oh Shit, dude.
What is?
We all know?

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Hereditary is my number one favorite or movie of
all time.
I will.
I love that movie and wealready did our episode.
If you haven't heard it, gogive it a listen.
It's our actually most listenedto episode.
We even got people from the UKlisten to that shit, so thank
you.
Next to this one.
Yeah, we'll see you maybe maybeour lucky charm, Hi Ro.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
Maybe I am, maybe it's this mustache, who knows?

Speaker 2 (39:43):
number two.
I'm gonna go ahead and say thatis scream.
I agree with you 100%.
I fucking love that movie.
I will always love that movieand it's the reason, like that's
why it makes me even appreciatelike the new ones, like the One
that came out this year.
I even appreciated that.
But love the first scream.
After that I will go with thesixth sense.
I think we recently weretalking about this Hyro, how

(40:04):
they just they haven't nailedthe kid actors like in the
Pope's exorcist.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
That kid actor was just not good enough to carry
his really why I didn't likethat movie that much.
I think he could have reallycarried the film.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
We have the kid actors and actresses from like
the exorcist, or even the sixthsense, where he was just
phenomenal, I mean crazy good.
So sixth sense is up there forme.
And then I have Donnie Darko.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
Hello.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Yeah, as number four, really really loved Donnie
Darko's creepy and it was likeone of the first you know not
obvious horror movies that Ienjoyed, so I'll always remember
it for that.
You know, like it is so muchmore than just horror movie,
it's a superhero movie in itsown way and that's really cool,
mm-hmm.
And then lastly, for my fiveand I guess actually paranormal.

(40:54):
Oh, go ahead.
I already said it, though, yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
I'm gonna say is insidious.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
No, it's not Insidious.
It is better than paranormalactivity.
Yep.
Um, it's not that I don't likeinsidious.
I thought insidious was reallywell done, it's just the ending
was just really Underwhelming tome.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Yeah, it takes you really out of the whole horror
element.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
Yeah, it really does it just.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
It felt like.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
It feels like they turn on the lights and like I
don't know, like that's the onlyway I can explain it.
Like they turned on the lightsand like, oh, it's not that
scary anymore.
That's it just like you know.
I had like this feeling of justlike relief, like okay, this
movie is no longer what Ithought it was going to be.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Yep, yep, that's really, that's really was.
I know a lot of people Reallylike those and they have a
really successful long Spanningfranchise.
But yeah, just never really didit for me.
But paranormal activity was oneof those movies, man, when it
came out I don't know if it wasbecause my age or is just like
the real, like I Don't know Iwas home alone a lot when I was

(41:58):
a kid.
You know, it's like a lot oflike me, my sister and slick and
that, like you know, thingsmoving at night and noises and
things opening up and shit, likethat was really fucking, that
it was always creeping at me,you know.
So paranormal activity reallyfucking fucked me up, man, and I
love them.
Even now when I watch them theyreally still creep me out and

(42:20):
they'll stick with me.
But there's a few movies that Ifeel like I watched when I was
younger that I had troublesleeping with, and paranormal
activity Was one of them Imentioned.
The other one was the othersand another one was the exorcist
.
Those ones really like I Icouldn't, just I couldn't sleep,
like I was scared.
And then my honorable Nedmentions I have a six, seven and
eight.
I didn't continue going down isthe others the witch and the

(42:44):
exorcist.
Really like those movies.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
Yeah, exorcist for me .
I don't know there's alwaysbeen something about it that,
like it's like disgusts me, likeI don't know, I don't like
explain it.
Like in a good way or in a badway.
No, not in a good way, like ina bad way.
That's why I like I can't saythat it's one of my top five
horror movies or top maybe topten, but like it I don't know it

(43:10):
just disgusts me, gives me likethis weird feeling of disgust.
I don't know, it's, it's weirdthing.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
I think that one was really scared of me because my
uncle, my Theo junior, wasreally like Hype in that movie
up.
He was like, bro, this moviescary as shit, you sure you want
to watch it, you sure you wantto watch it.
And like I'm young, go watch it, bro, like I'll be fine and I
think like just that, that, justlike hype that you know he was

(43:35):
terrified of it, kind of made itmore fun and enjoyable for me.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
Yeah, yeah, you know what I remember you told me a
long time ago, like a long longtime ago, like when you was in
high school and I was a Viperboy, what's up that you said
that haunting in Connecticut isthe scariest movie ever seen.
You remember you saying thathaunting in Connecticut yeah,
I've, I seen that movie.
I remember you were gassing itup a lot.

(44:00):
Do you remember this Hyro andwatching the haunting
Connecticut?
I remember, I remember From mysuper, my superhuman memory they
used to gas up the haunting inConnecticut.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
Well, I might have to rewatch that and see if I can
remember that.
I mean it looks good, has a 17%on ron to me.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
But uh, wasn't that scary Really?

Speaker 2 (44:23):
I don't off of what I'm just watching on the
internet right now.
It doesn't ring a Bell.
Oh, the cover rings a bell.
It's when that that shit'scoming out of his fucking mouth.

Speaker 4 (44:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
I have to rewatch that man, but I said that's like
I must have been really fuckedup.
I.
Really don't remember as I willrewatch it, though I will
rewatch it the box office.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
They're really good though 77 million.

Speaker 2 (44:49):
Yeah, horror movies is one of those things man like
we could have easily namedthings on both our list, all
three of our lists.
I were like fucking ten on Rontomatoes, because they don't,
they don't, fuck with horrorslike that.

Speaker 4 (45:00):
Yeah, I mean, it's just like I said.
It's how you feel about a man.
Some moves, some horror movies, just hit.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
They come out with Winnie the Pooh blood and honey
too.
Are they really that's?

Speaker 2 (45:11):
yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
February 2024.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
Like Just for reference here house, house on
haunted Hill, which Hyro said itwas the first one we mentioned
31%, you know.
First screen got 81.
I'm actually kind of impressedwith that.
Bob, a Duke I know, did reallywell.
The evil dead.
I'm curious to see what thatcame up on Ron tomatoes 54.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
54 on Ron tomatoes.
That'd be my guess.
That's your guess, for evildead, yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
Yeah, I have this in 86 86.
I'm wondering if they inflatedthat rating after the fact.
You know that's what I'm saying.
Yeah, yeah very, very curious.

Speaker 1 (45:58):
Have you guys seen the ring?

Speaker 2 (45:59):
Yeah, yeah is it that scary it was at the time is you
know was at the time, that'sfor sure.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
You think I can handle it.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
No, yeah, I think you handle it.
The ring is really fun becauseit really introduced like it's a
whole.
It really introduced a likeAsian horror to us.
You know that's a Japanesehorror and Korean horror is
another.
I mean we can, I can name withthe whaling.
I know I suggest that to youbefore Haro and I think you
watched it the whaling.

(46:29):
And you know a lot of peoplecount parasite as a, you know,
psychological horror.
But those you know Korean, japanese Horror films are a
breed of their own man andthey're great and they've done
really well in America.
So I think that's why the ringwas so popular, really brought
it to life, a different type ofhorror to America cinema.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
So did you guys like the grudge?
Yeah, like the grudge.
Do you think I can handle that?

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Yeah, I think you can handle all of these.
I think you're officially likeyou're grown-ass man dude,
you're gonna handle everything.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
Nobody's it's not for real.
Nobody's coming out of the TVto strangle you.
Dude.
Yo can I, can I handle it?

Speaker 1 (47:22):
Nah bro cuz I don't fuck.
I you know I don't fuck withdemons.

Speaker 4 (47:25):
A paranormal she was crazy to above everything else,
like besides the point, like youcould always just stop it to,
you have the power.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Yeah, you get too scary just yeah, but I don't
want to do that man.
I just tell anybody you.

Speaker 4 (47:40):
Saw the whole.
Thing.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
Yo, yeah, you remember the ending.
What do I say then?

Speaker 2 (47:46):
be like.
I turned it off.
I had to go.

Speaker 1 (47:56):
That wasn't funny.
You guys kind of killed it.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Yeah there's good lists, so, like you can start
with some of those, which ones, out of all the ones that we
named, you think you're morelikely to watch.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Well, I was actually gonna say before, before we
leave, I at least need a needyou guys recommendation, at
least five movies, did you?

Speaker 4 (48:21):
watch the Bobba dude.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
Bobba dude.
Now I see enough looks a lot,but I always skip over because
that should look scary.
I watched the Bobba dude.
That's a good one to watch.
Yeah, let me wait, hold on.

Speaker 4 (48:30):
You know it's a really good one to the taking of
Deborah Logan.
You guys in that one.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
I haven't seen that.
I haven't seen that.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
That's good.
That old lady is freaky.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
All right, number one Bobba Duke.
What else?

Speaker 2 (48:43):
have you seen screams like, of course, dude, the
first one.
Okay, I was about to say whatdo you say, dude?

Speaker 3 (48:49):
You say just say you should watch the thing.
That's a list.

Speaker 4 (48:52):
You should watch the thing, yeah, the.
Thing.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
I'll watch the thing with you.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
Yeah, I need to watch the thing.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
Yeah, one the og or the new one the thing is og is
what a monk us.
The video game is about dude.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
That's the original among well, I don't play a manga
, so you're talking to the wrongguy.

Speaker 4 (49:09):
You look like a monk us right now, dude.

Speaker 1 (49:13):
Number three.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Um, I would say what do you think?
What do you think I wrote thewitch?
Have you seen the witch?
Oh, it's just good bitch.

Speaker 1 (49:22):
Every time I see the front and see two V's the bitch
the bitch.

Speaker 2 (49:27):
Yeah, remember, if you're gonna watch that, to
fucking use subtitles, bro, cuzthey speak fucking.

Speaker 1 (49:33):
Got that tenant energy?

Speaker 2 (49:37):
No, it's not ten energy they use like old English
, bro, and it's so hard tounderstand.
Yeah, they're really, and I'mnot a caption guy.
Obviously the Internationalhave no issue with it.
But if it's a horror or comedyI like to subtitles off, because
sometimes everyone's the movie.
You know you're watching themovie, then the subtitles like
Like silent steps behind themand I'm just like, well, fuck

(49:58):
and some subtitles take up thewhole goddamn screen, especially
Netflix.

Speaker 1 (50:01):
It's like big-ass caps.
I'm like you know, edit that, can't you?
No, I mean Alright.
So number three, the bitch.
I'll let you get the next one, yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:13):
Yeah, Let me take a look at my list here.
Dude, you know it's a goodmovie to hi.
Have you guys ever seen hightension?
No, I'm not see it's a French,a French horror movie.
Oh, it's pretty good.
It's solid, very solid.
It's got gore, a lot of gore.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
I'll add a recent one to will do high tension for
slick, and then a more recentone came off September last year
, which was my favorite horrormovie of 2022 Smile, fucking
loved smile, smile, it's prettygood.
Yeah, man, I I Super like smile.
I thought the audio engineeringthat movie was a one like.
That's one of those you oughtto very.
You have to have your likeheadphones on and, man, it'll

(50:52):
really get you sometimes.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
You know, take the one that I just said out.
What the fuck did I just say?
Tension yeah, don't watch thatone.
Watch house on haunted hillbefore you watch that shit.
House on haunted hill.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
Speaking of horrors, before we carry on here, there
is this really cool thing that Isaw.
It's created by moneysupermarket and it's the science
of scare project.
So basically, for the last fouryears, a panel of 250 people
are they watch horror movieswith like a heartbeat sensor on

(51:29):
them throughout the whole thingand Then you get an average
resting heart rate while theywatch the movie and then you get
a overall difference and thenlike a high, like the highest
spike in the movie.
It's like all measured and thenit gives you like a total scare
score to see like what moviesare like really fucking up the
audiences, right.
So it's actually prettyinteresting and it's cool

(51:52):
because science is cool.
So I'm just gonna name you guys, or some of the movies With the
greatest scare scores and theirhighest spike in BPM and their
resting BPM.
Alright, so we're gonna startoff.
Number one is actually sinister, okay, the average heart rate
when I point is so 2016.

(52:14):
Um, yeah, I'm pretty sure that'sLucy.
Sinister 2012, actually, so2012.
The audience's average heartrate of the 250 people panel is
64.
The average heart rate duringthe movie was 86, and then the

(52:34):
highest spike in beats perminute is 131.
Number two is host, which is bythe same director who did
parasite.
We have the average heart ratefor the movie being 88 and the
highest spike 130, so very closeto sinister.
Number three, I think you guyshave heard of this movie Skinner

(52:57):
Merink.
Have you guys heard of thatmovie?
This year?

Speaker 4 (52:59):
I was someone that just watched that.
Yeah, I that's a really weirdmovie.
Yeah, what'd you think of thatmovie.
I I said that the concept wasreally good.
It's like the same reason whyparanormal activity was so scary
.
It's a lot of just still frames, just like really Uncomfortable

(53:20):
viewpoints or perspectives.
You know like a down lookingdown a dark hallway looking down
, you know, in everything's dark.
You know like through an opendoorway when you really can't
see what's through the doorway,an open closet like.
It's a lot of these thesecamera angles and there's this
one particular scene.
It's it's really the main sceneof the movie that's scary,

(53:40):
where it's like they go up tothe room and it's like the
parents are sitting On the bedand the whole way it's feeling
like the camera pans very slowlyand you never see the parents,
his head, they cut off and thedad is sitting on the bed like
his heads down and he's justlike Look under the bed and then
the camera pans under the bedand you see the curtain come up

(54:01):
and it's just.
But there's the thing is aboutthe movies that nothing happens,
like you know.
It's, it's just the.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
It's like the anticipation it's something
happening kills you the premiseof the movie is that these kids
wake up and the father's gone, and then all the doors and the
windows are also gone in thehouse.
Right, that's the premise.

Speaker 4 (54:18):
Yeah, yeah, I mean the dad's not gone because, like
I said, like the scene is thereand then, right, and then you
know they have the whole scenewith the parents and then, like
the mom dies, I guess I don'tknow, and then the dad
disappears from that point onand then it's.
But it's you, like I said, man,it's like it's one of those
movies you just got to watch it.
It's very fucking weird.

(54:38):
It's definitely like not amovie you've ever seen before
and you know there's no realdialogue.
There's a little bit ofdialogue in the beginning where,
like because it's all up tointerpretation, so like the
whole thing is like, because inthe beginning the dad's on the
phone, like, yeah, one of thekids got hit her, he fell and he
hit his head.
You know, I'm gonna take him tothe doctor or whatever.

(54:58):
And then that's when the moviestarts, like, all you know, the
kids wake up, there's thewindows and doors disappear,
which that's a pretty cool scene.
But yeah, and, and then themovie's just that, and like
these scenes, like they're verylong, like when they show these,
these doorways and halls andstuff, they're there for like 20
, 30 seconds, nothing happens,and it changes another 10 or 20

(55:20):
seconds, nothing happens.
That movies almost.
It's like an hour and a halflong dude of that.
Now, had the movie been like a20 minute short film and like
the main scene been that bedroomscene and like Something
fucking happen at the end, Iwould have been like, yeah,
that's pretty solid.
That's actually pretty scary, because in the beginning I was,
I was like yo, it's just eerieas hell when you watch it, just

(55:42):
like you know, even even everylike you know Tonight or
whatever, just play the firstlike 10 minutes of the movie and
just watch and you'll get thatwhole vibe.
It's, it's fucking weird, it'screepy, because you know it's
not gonna be as creepy now Cuz Itold you nothing happens, but
in the moment you don't know.
You know.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
So right, right but yeah, that came up.
Number three, the highest bike,is 113, so actually a pretty
big difference between host andsinister.
I'm surprised host is so high, didn't think I'd Sinister so
high.
Yeah, me too, and it'sinteresting because this gets
refreshed every year.
So, like in the last four years, even though they did this for

(56:17):
the, the new 25 movies that cameout with the highest ratings
for the year.
If they Do higher than all ofthese, they get bumped down, so
it's kind of held its its own.
After that we got insidious, with the highest spike being 133
, which is the highest spike, itseems, ever in any movies here,
and the average Heart rate is85.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
That's that Darth Maul scene, bro, yeah, I got
everybody dude.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
Yeah, then after that we have the conjuring.
132 was the highest spikeaverage heart rate during the
movie is 84, her Reddits areacoming up in number six average
heart rate 82 with the highestspike 104, and then smile coming
in at number seven with thehighest spike rate 114.
I know what scene that was from, by the way.
It's the fucking when she'slistening to the audio recording

(57:06):
.
That shit fucked me up.

Speaker 4 (57:09):
Oh yeah, I vaguely remember that she's like on the
computer, right?

Speaker 2 (57:13):
Yeah, and she's like listening to, like rewinding to
listen to it more and more andthen they fucking get you god
damn, that's seen, fucked me up.
But that's the all-time list,the top seven.
I sent you both the link so youcan kind of look through
yourself.
It's really interesting.
But if we're talking about just2023, the newest films, the
number one that came out in thelast 2022 2023 era is a skin of

(57:37):
a rink.
That has done the best, followed by smile, followed by a
24s talk to me.
The terrifying two comes up asfifth there.
The new insidious barbarian, the none too evil dead rising,
none of these heart rates arekind of crazy insidious.
The new insidious as a 112spike, talk to me is 106, smiles
, 114.
We said skin of a rink is 113.

(57:58):
Um, but really cool.

Speaker 4 (58:01):
I love a little grow like.
People are gonna be watching itlike yo skin of a rink.
I gotta check it out.
They're gonna watch it andremember they should have.
Honestly, what I would love tosee is the heart rate in the
first 50% of that film versusthe heart rate in the latter 50%
.

Speaker 2 (58:16):
I guarantee in the latter half it's like 60
Everybody's at 60 everybody's at40 probably asleep you know I
am very down to do our ownpersonal like Scare science of
scare project.
Let's watch a couple things, get like a heart rate monitor
and see what the data is betweenourselves, the three of us.

Speaker 1 (58:38):
I'd be cool to see you like I'm gonna see my shit
Hi okay, but but we have to doit.

Speaker 4 (58:43):
So If we're gonna do it, we have to be isolated, I
say in the dark, and you watchit either with very high volume
like a surround sound, or withheadphones at a very high volume
.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
I think that's saying we can't watch it together um,
for the experiment, I don't knowcuz.

Speaker 4 (59:03):
Like listen, if I'm watching with you guys like I'm
not gonna be scared.
Honestly, I'm not right.
Like the only thing that wouldreally scare me if I would be a
hundred percent to get anauthentic, authentic result is
if I'm alone in the darkwatching with headphones at
night.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
All right, yeah, all right, all right, I'm down.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
I know what.
I know what's our five nighthouse.
That was a good house.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
That was a good night .
House 2020.
I see Rebecca Hall the premisebeing reeling from the
unexpected death of her husbandBeth excuse me is left alone in
the lakeside home he built forher.
Oh, I've seen this.
I have seen this.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
I fuck, I have seen the night house.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
It's the one with yeah, yeah, like there's another
version of the house on theopposite side of the lake, right
, some shit like that.

Speaker 1 (59:53):
That's.
I mean, yeah, there's a sceneof that, but it doesn't.
That's not the premise of theright, but yeah, that's one of
the right.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Right right, I have seen this.
This is a good movie.
It was a good movie.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Yeah, man, I forgot to watch this.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
Yeah, it's really cool.
I think if you watch thetrailer you'd like it because
it's like a psychological horror.
But I remember the trailer kindof gave it like a like a thing
like this guy died, but thehouse is built.
What was it slick, is it?
Like he's kind of still movingaround the house even though
he's dead.

Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Yeah, like he's still living in the house somehow,
whether it's in the past or thefuture, like things are moving
in the house, like that.
It's really, it's really cool.
It's cool, cool concept there.
88 Iran tomatoes.
All right, well, I think, Ithink that's it.
I think that's all we got guys.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
