Let's go, boys.
Welcome back to RenewedMindsets.
This week is sacred.
As we step into Passover, we'renot just remembering a moment in
history, we're stepping into amirror.

(00:21):
Because what happened in Exodusstill speaks directly to our
lives today.
This isn't just about Israelbeing delivered from Egypt.
This is about what it looks liketo trust God when you don't
fully understand what he'sdoing.
And if I'm being honest withyou, that's where I've grown the

(00:41):
most.
Not believing God exists, but insurrendering when his plan
didn't look like mine.
I want you to picture that firstPassover night.
Families inside their homes,children asking questions,
parents trying to stay calmwhile uncertainty filled the
air.
Outside, judgment was coming.

(01:04):
Inside, they had instructions.
Take a lamb, apply the blood,stay inside.
And that was it.
No backup plan, no visibleguarantee, no second option,
just obedience.
And I've thought about that alot because I wonder how many

(01:26):
people stood at that doorwayholding that hyssop branch,
thinking, is this really enough?
Now let's bring this into reallife because God still gives
instructions today.
Not usually this visibly, butclearly enough in our spirit
through his word.

(01:48):
And sometimes what he asks of usdoesn't feel comfortable.
Now let me be transparent for amoment.
There have been times in my lifewhere I felt God saying, let
that go.
Step away from that.
Stop trying to fix this.
Trust me here.
And everything in me wanted torespond with, but God, this

(02:13):
matters to me.
And maybe you've been there too,where obedience feels like it's
going to cost you something.
And the truth is, it usuallydoes.
There's something that I've hadto face in my own life.
And this is it.
I don't struggle with faith.
I struggle with control.

(02:35):
I want to understand it.
I want to fix it.
I want to make it work.
And when something doesn't gothe way I thought it would, my
instinct isn't always surrender.
It's figuring out how to regaincontrol.
But Passover confronts that.
Because that night in Egypt,control was an illusion.

(02:58):
No one could stop what wascoming.
No one could reason their wayout of it.
No one could negotiate with it.
The only option was trust whatGod said and obey it fully.
Now let's not miss this.
It wasn't perfection that savedthem.
It wasn't effort.

(03:20):
It wasn't how confident theyfelt.
It was the blood.
And I think sometimes weovercomplicate what God is
asking of us because we thinkit's about us getting everything
right, but it's not.
It's about being covered.

(03:40):
And today that covering isJesus.
But here's the part we don'talways ask about.
They had to apply the blood.
It wasn't enough that the lambwas slain, it had to be placed
on the door.
And in our lives, that lookslike this.

(04:00):
Not just believing in Jesus, butliving in alignment with him.
Now this gets me every time.
God didn't just say apply theblood.
He said stay inside.
And I can imagine as that nightwent on, as the tension grew, as

(04:24):
the unknown pressed in, someonehad, somebody had to feel the
urge to just step outside.
Just to check.
Just to see.
Just to make sure.
And isn't that exactly what wedo?
God tells us to trust him, butwe keep stepping outside trying

(04:48):
to manage the outcome.
We revisit what he told us torelease.
We reopen what he told us toclose.
We interfere with what he toldus to leave alone.
And if I'm honest again, I'vedone that way more times than
I'd like to admit.

(05:10):
Where God said, leave it.
And I said, just one more look.
Now let me say something thatmight help someone today.
Surrender is rarely a one-timemoment.
It's a daily decision.
Sometimes hourly.
There are things that I've hadto lay down before God more than

(05:32):
once.
Not because I didn't mean it thefirst time, because my heart
kept trying to pick it back up.
And maybe that's where you are.
You've prayed about it, you'vegiven it to God, but you still
feel the pull.
It doesn't make you weak, itmakes you human.

(05:55):
The key is you got to keepsurrendering.
Now let's go deeper for aminute.
A lot of times the reason westruggle to trust God isn't
because we don't believe He can.
It's because we're afraid ofwhat He might choose.
What if His plan doesn't looklike mine?

(06:17):
What if I lose something I careabout?
What if this doesn't turn outthe way I want?
And that's real.
But here's what I'm in theprocess of learning.
God's will may not always feelgood at the moment, but it will
always be good in the end.

(06:39):
Let's make this personal.
Because this week isn't justabout remembering Passover, it's
about living it.

So ask yourself honestly (06:47):
what is God asking me to trust Him
with right now?
A relationship?
A decision?
A future you can't control?
Something you need to release?
That's your doorpost.

(07:07):
Now you gotta take action.
You identify it clearly.
You gotta stop avoiding it.
Bring it to the light.
Then you apply the blood.
Surrender it to Jesus fully, notpartially, and then stay inside.
Stop interfering.

(07:28):
Stop revisiting.
Stop trying to control it.
You've got to trust the processeven when you don't see
immediate results.
So let me speak this over you asas we close.
You don't have to understandeverything to trust God.

(07:49):
You don't have to see theoutcome to obey him.
And you don't have to feel readyto surrender.
All you have to do is take himat his word.
That's what Passover teaches us.
Not control, not certainty, buttrust.

(08:11):
Let's pray.
This week, God, as we rememberPassover, help us to slow down
and to really see what you'reasking of us.
Show us the areas where we'reholding on too tightly.
Give us the courage to surrendereven when it's hard.
Even when it costs us something.

(08:33):
Teach us to trust you.
Not just when it's easy, butwhen it's uncomfortable.
Help us to stay under yourcovering, to walk in obedience,
to rest in the truth.
The truth that you're incontrol.
Lord, we give it to you again.

(08:55):
In Jesus' name.
Amen.
