What does the Ascension of Jesus mean for us today? In this special Beachside Homily from Restoring Hope, Fr. Ben Beriniti of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida, reflects on the difficulty of goodbyes and the deeper meaning behind Christ’s departure. The Ascension is not about being left behind—it is a call to go out into the world as missionary disciples, becoming the living presence of Christ through the grace of the Holy Spirit.
Fr. Ben reminds us that we are not called to simply look toward heaven, but to bring Christ to the people and places around us. Sustained by Christ’s presence in the Eucharist, we are challenged to ask: Where am I being called to go, and how can I keep Christ’s presence alive in my corner of the world?
