Service and Sacrifice: The Month of the Military Child

In this episode of Rockstar Mindset, we are talking about service and sacrifice. April is the Month of the Military child. This is a special month where we take the time to acknowledge & celebrate military children and the sacrifices they make. There are more than 1.6 million military children who face many challenges and unique experiences as a result of their parent’s service. Having served in the United States Air Force and now being a military spouse this is something that I know all too well.

This episode is important not because I’m sharing my personal experiences of being involved with the military for over 17 years but because we all can learn something very valuable from all service men & women and their children. That lesson is resilience. We can all apply the concept of service and sacrifice to our own lives. Sacrifice is tough but if we focus on the service to others and the rewards from our sacrifices then we will be much better off. My military service was full of sacrifices but it set me up for success and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I hope that you enjoy this episode and if you see a military child, please express your gratitude to them as well because they too have given so much to our country!
