"California's CBD Ban: Understanding the Impact on Hemp and Cannabis"
In this episode of the Miracle Plant podcast, I had the pleasure of discussing the recent ban on CBD products in California with Alex on Green Coast Radio. We explored the implications of Governor Gavin Newsom's emergency law that prohibits any hemp products containing THC, even in trace amounts, despite their federal legality under the 2018 Farm Bill.
We delved into the history of hemp legislation, starting from the federal farm bill in 2014 and its evolution into the 2018 law that legalized hemp. I shared my insights on the rise of Delta-8 THC products and the concerns surrounding their unregulated sale, particularly in relation to youth access. We also touched on the ongoing battle between the cannabis and hemp industries, highlighting the need for unity to combat the stigma and regulatory challenges they face.
Throughout our conversation, we emphasized the importance of full-spectrum CBD products for therapeutic use, especially for those who may not want to experience the psychoactive effects of THC. We discussed the need for a balanced approach that accommodates both the cannabis and hemp markets, rather than pitting them against each other.
We also ventured into biblical history, discussing the ancient use of cannabis in holy anointing oil, which was prescribed for kings and high priests. This historical context added depth to our conversation about the significance of cannabis in both health and spirituality.
