SPEAKER_01 (00:47):
We're lo we're live
now.
Oh.
Welcome back, hockey fans, toepisode eighty-six of Royally
Quacked.
Or I guess I'm quack today.
I guess you get to be royal.
SPEAKER_04 (01:02):
Aww.
I quit.
I don't want to be royal.
Unless there's a lot of moneyinvolved.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14):
You never know.
SPEAKER_04 (01:17):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18):
How's it going,
Cody?
SPEAKER_04 (01:20):
Good.
Just a very interesting week, you know.
Um, you know, we had the podcastwith the Go Dwigs and Go Home on
TikTok on Wednesday.
A lot of fun.
It was um, then on Thursday Iwas on the South Florida Tribune
one.
Uh, we finally started that upagain.
And then, of course, yesterday, right before work, my and while
(01:43):
I was sleeping, I I guess I wasstretching a little too hard,
and my calf just decided to getthe biggest cramp possible.
And I kid you not, like it waslike the biggest knot on my
calf, and it hurt, and it stillhurts when I walk.
So I'm great.
(02:03):
Oh, I know.
My week was crazy too.
Oh, and I and I got bit byanother dog yesterday at work.
Uh that's three now.
It wasn't too bad, I hope.
No, it got it's more like thedog bit my pants, like you know,
like where your back pocket ison your pants.
(02:23):
He bit there and just pulled.
Like, I didn't feel any teethmarks on me or anything like
that.
He just almost took off mypants.
That was really it.
Okay.
Wow.
But other than that, um, youknow, especially after last
night, it was great.
I'm not a big Halloween person, but the game was so much fun.
SPEAKER_01 (02:47):
Yeah, I was uh I had
been given a project.
I was creating an Excelspreadsheet for 33 cars.
So when we do inspections, wecan have everything documented,
(03:08):
which will be even our oldercars.
The inspect first inspectionwill be whatever date we get
this started, and then I wasgonna leave about like 7:30
because I was in about 10:45,and one of my drivers got
rear-ended, so again, wow, uhagain.
(03:32):
It this one wasn't bad, but ittook time and I didn't get home
till just before midnight.
Oh, and I forgot.
Uh, we have people out, so wehave somebody doing a double
route, so we have to a stop thatthey can't go to when they do
the double route, or just addsway too much time to their
(03:54):
route.
And I forgot to put it to theother driver, even though I put
him in on the email, I forgot togive him the delivery and pickup
at a location, which I had to dothis morning.
Oh, so it wasn't a fun dayyesterday.
(04:14):
Yeah, so but other than that, Imean, we're here, we get to do a
podcast, and yes, yesterday isover.
SPEAKER_04 (04:28):
Yesterday is over.
That's a good and it's theweekend, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (04:34):
It's gonna go by
really fast again, just like it
did last week, but at leastwe're started on this.
So I love to start the weekendoff on a podcast, so and uh
well.
SPEAKER_04 (04:48):
Um, let me see.
You want to get into Doug?
Uh you why don't you start withKing's News?
Okay, switch it up.
SPEAKER_01 (04:57):
Okay, so Kings fans.
I don't know if you know, butthe Kings set an NHL record.
I mean, it's not a record I'dwant to be totally known for.
Uh, but it they scored ninepoints in nine games with no
regulation wins.
That's the most points scored uhat a point a game with no
(05:22):
regulation wins.
They did break it the very nextgame, so they didn't can make
the record get bigger, but notnecessarily the record I'd want
to set.
SPEAKER_04 (05:36):
It's not the worst
record to set, but it's not like
one you want to celebrateeither.
SPEAKER_01 (05:42):
Not totally, uh,
it's it's an odd one.
SPEAKER_04 (05:48):
Yeah, at least you
weren't uh at least Jim Hiller
wasn't going out there like, hey, I would I would give away
one of my kids for a win.
You know, like the sharks coachdid.
Did you hear that?
No, I didn't hear that.
Yeah, he he literally saidbecause well at the time before
(06:09):
they the sharks finally beat theRangers, they lost like
technically like almost 16-17games in a row because they had
like a 12-game losing streaklast year to end the season, and
then all the losses to start theseason, and I think you they
were just you know tired oflosing, and he's like, I'd give
(06:30):
up one of my kids for a winright now.
Obviously, they've won now, andhe still has all his kids, so
good news.
SPEAKER_00 (06:39):
Yeah, huh?
SPEAKER_01 (06:40):
Geez, it's hard to
give away adult children.
On other kings news, um WarrenFogle out with an upper body
injury.
I don't know if anybody saw it.
Uh, it wasn't like a bad play,it was a check into the boards,
(07:02):
just the way he went with hisarm up so high.
I think he wrenched hisshoulder.
Hopefully, he won't be out toolong.
Uh, maybe this is gonna give himyou know a few days to get that
restart because he's he's beenone of our slow starters this
year.
So hope Warren will be back uhback soon.
(07:22):
Um, you know, I'm not even sure.
I haven't looked at the reportfor today because I know they're
playing um the devils today.
Uh, if he might be back tonight,um, but I haven't heard anything
about that.
On to other Kings news, and uhthis is news that a lot of
(07:42):
people want to hear.
Hiller and Clark talk about moreice time, and I think it's about
it's about time, Adam.
Yeah, it's about time theystarted talking about that.
No, that that that was I know,no, I know when he said it.
(08:02):
I was just gonna, and I actuallyit's what it my actual note
says, it's about time.
Uh well, about more ice time,it's about time for it.
So, anyways, also in that talkuh was uh Alex Turcott, and I
think both of these young guyshave been playing uh some of the
(08:23):
better hockey for the Kings thisuh season, so that's good news.
Good news, and I think Clarkleads all our all of our
defensemen in points right now.
I think I think he's like seven, seven or eight points.
I know Adam.
I was just playing off it, okay.
SPEAKER_04 (08:43):
We started like two
minutes late, okay?
He he he's just mad because hedidn't get the memo that I put
out on Friday that there was nolive stream last week last week,
and then he messaged me onSaturday.
Hey, uh, I I can't find youguys.
We're uh and I was like, Adam, II put it out on social media.
SPEAKER_01 (09:10):
Well, it's funny you
talk about that.
I've got 16 people underneathme, and I always tell them
before you leave to go on yourroute, check your emails, check
your text messages, and then atnight, before you leave the
office, check your emails andcheck your text messages, and
(09:30):
then you know you send somethingout that's important, and then
the next day they're doingsomething wrong, and you go, Did
you not read your text messagesand your emails?
And that's pretty much life.
SPEAKER_04 (09:45):
Oh, yeah, that that
happened to me when I was at
Downs.
I didn't check my phone beforewe uh and I was training someone
that day.
I was before we went to go loadthe diesel, and he I guess he
messaged me while we were on therack, and you're not supposed to
(10:05):
have your phone out or anythinglike that.
And he told me, don't getdiesel.
There was a mix-up uh whereyou're going, get red dye
diesel, and I didn't get themessage, and then so we already
loaded everything and yeah, madeour day a lot longer than it
wanted to be.
(10:25):
Yeah, and by the way, Clark doeshave the most points for
defenseman at seven.
That's not bad.
Yeah, Edmondson is in secondwith five.
SPEAKER_01 (10:38):
Yeah, well, I I
think uh Clark is the future, um
at least offensively for theKings.
Yeah, now I want to uh just havea prospect update.
This isn't gonna be everyplayer, but you know, some of
those main players you knowabout uh Brustevich um has four
goals and three assists in 10games with the London Knights.
(11:03):
That's a nice start.
And Carter George um with OwenSound has five wins, a 2.82
goals against average, and asave percentage of 909%.
Liam Greentree with the WindsorSpitfires has six goals, six
assists in eight games.
(11:23):
And honestly, I think that's alittle low for him.
That's about a point and a halfa game.
SPEAKER_04 (11:31):
Well, and maybe he's
working on stuff the Kings told
him to work on, and it's kind ofto change up his game to get him
more NHL ready for next year.
SPEAKER_01 (11:41):
Well, I don't think
they're as loaded offensively,
so I'm gonna I'm gonna bet youhe's not gonna have 119 points
this year because he he had hehad helpers.
I mean, to get all the assists, you've got to have someone
putting the puck in the net, right?
And then you have to havesomeone give you that puck where
you're in a good scoringposition to score goals, but
(12:03):
still 12 or um 12 points ineight games.
That's a point and a half agame.
I don't know what that turnsinto, but it's it's probably
close to 100 points, I wouldthink, for the season for him.
Uh Jimmy Lombardi has four goalsand 10 assists in 11 games for
the Flint Firebirds.
(12:24):
Then um Brustevich's uh partner,Jared Woolley, he has five goals
and six assists in the same uh10 games.
So what that's a pretty goodpair, and then Hammers Slukinsky
from Western Michigan uh hasfour wins in six games, uh 2.2
(12:49):
um goals against average and asave percentage of 902 percent.
And that's King's news.
SPEAKER_04 (12:59):
All right, we'll go
on to Duck's news.
Um in the Tampa Bay game, mchalgrandless mikhail grandlin
suffered a lower body injuryduring the game, and he is out
week to week.
I also heard I believe it waseither Zach Kavanaugh or Derek
(13:21):
or Patrick, one of the threeDucks Insider guys.
Um, they were talking toQuenville, and I think Quenville
said it'd be like an estimateabout three weeks.
So hopefully uh Granny gets uhhealthy again and comes back and
starts playing like he he did inthat Bruins game with a
five-point night.
SPEAKER_01 (13:43):
Um but you know, he
I don't think it's totally hurt
them.
Yes, and no.
I mean, obviously, having him onthe ice is a difference maker,
too, but they have been playingpretty well.
SPEAKER_04 (13:58):
Yes, no, they they
have that is true.
Um uh next bit of news is JansenHarkins makes his season debut
for the ducks on Tuesday versusthe Florida Panthers.
He was out with an injury hesuffered in, I believe, uh
training camp.
And then um, so now and wefinally found out why Chris
(14:20):
Kreider was out those last whatthree or four games of the road
trip.
Um, he Chris Crider revealed theillness that sidelined him for
the last four games was hand, foot, mouth disease.
I've never heard of it until oh,I've heard of it.
Yeah, okay.
(14:41):
So Elliot Freeman said, mostparents like if you're a parent,
you know this disease.
Obviously, that should tell youthat I'm not a parent, and uh,
so I have I had no idea whatthis was, but I heard it's
terrible.
Everyone, Elliot Freeman said Ithink one of his kids got it one
(15:02):
time, and it was he said his kidwas just he said it was like the
worst thing possible.
Um it even Kreider said, andquote, it was terrible, and
obviously they didn't want to uhdidn't want to give it to anyone
on the team, so I was locked ina in the hotel room for a few
days.
It's awful.
(15:22):
I don't recommend it.
SPEAKER_01 (15:24):
Oh, by the way, you
you can you can change that
parent thing anytime you want, mom and I would love it.
I know.
SPEAKER_04 (15:33):
I'm done.
Yeah, all right.
Um, anyways, back to hockey.
Um you know, but it was good tosee uh Kreider back.
He he he did play in Last Name'sgame, but we'll get more on that
later.
Um, and then the next bit ofnews is the Ducks did a
Halloween prank where they had,I guess they actually hired like
(15:57):
scare actors and stuff likethat.
So or that I guess the Ducksplayers would walk to get to the
locker room for practice andeverything.
They were doing likeconstruction, and they had like
guys in like welding mask andwork attire and everything, and
um they purposely had like smokeand sparks go off to scare them,
(16:21):
and then they would take offtheir map, uh their welding
mask, and then they had clownmask on to scare them.
The best reactions of that wasby far Jacob Truba just you know
going into the corner.
I I think he was more scared oflike the you know the sparks and
(16:41):
the smoke and everything.
Because you know, I mean it Iwould have been really I
probably would have done theexact same thing as Truba, but
he like turtled in the cornerand everything.
But the funniest one it wasCutter, Nestoranko, and Granland
all walking in together, and assoon as like the loud noise, you
(17:02):
know, made a bang, and thensmoke and the sparks went off.
Uh Granlon and Nestoranko bookedit.
Like, I kid you not, theysprinted back the other where
they came from and just leftCutter there to just suffer.
It was pretty funny andeverything.
A lot of guys got scared andeverything like that.
(17:23):
And they actually had a pit uhgot a view of one of the clowns
coming in and scaring Carlsonagain right in front of the
locker room with a like a loudlike a horn, and it even Pat
Verbeek was standing there, he'slike, Wow, that was loud.
(17:44):
Like I said, it that was it wasfunny and all, but I'm gonna do
a little not a little tangent, alittle I would say another way
to get to it.
Someone else that got thatlooked really scared this week.
It wasn't any ducks players, itwas a former ducks player.
(18:04):
It was Trevor Ziegris in thegame against the Pittsburgh
Penguins at the very end, Ibelieve of overtime.
SPEAKER_01 (18:16):
Did you see you did
you see the video?
I haven't seen the video, but II've heard about it.
Is that what where he he pickeda fight with the wrong guy?
SPEAKER_04 (18:24):
Yeah, he he like
punched a car in the back, and a
car just got up and stood up,and you just see Trevor go like
hands up, like you could tell, like he literally, you know,
went to the bathroom rightthere.
That's all I'm gonna say.
Yeah, um, but yeah, uh it itthat was the funniest reaction
(18:50):
to that because I think TrevorZiegers was more scared about
that than the ducks players werescared with the Halloween prank.
And yeah, mom also put uh handfoot mouth is very painful, lots
of blisters.
Yeah, that's that's what Ididn't want to get into very
details because I heard I hearduh Kyle Acar talk about Unlocked
(19:11):
on Ducks and then ElliotFriedman on 32 Thoughts.
I'm like I do not want to talkabout all the disgusting stuff
with that, so um, but yeah, butthat's it for ducks news right
now.
SPEAKER_01 (19:24):
So on to league
news.
SPEAKER_04 (19:26):
Yes, so on Tuesday
we had the frozen frenzy where
all 32 teams played in on onesingle night.
And the funny thing is, uh Itotally forgot this was
happening.
There was no I didn't even seeany.
I there was like I didn't seeanything on social media like oh
(19:49):
frozen frenzies next Tuesday, orbut you know, or I didn't see
any of that.
And why on a Tuesday?
I feel like they're they couldhave done this a lot different.
(20:10):
Like I know they don't want totry to do it on a Saturday or
Sunday to kind of come uhcompete with uh you know college
football and and in the NFL, butI for I forgot who said this.
Like I said, it wasn't my idea.
I forgot who said it.
But what they should do is um, Ithink it was on the on the sheet
with Merrick and uh his producerZach.
(20:33):
They were saying it should be onthe Saturday before the Super
Bowl would be a good time to doit.
That way it's on the weekend andeverything because nobody's or
or the Pro Bowl weekend, it waseither the Pro Bowl weekend or
the Super Bowl weekend, likethat around that time, and just
do it then, and you you'll havemore audience, you'll have you
(21:00):
know it's on the weekend.
Probably more people are able toattend games.
And here's my honest opinion forthis.
SPEAKER_01 (21:06):
What I've just I've
got I I want to take the blues
one for just a funny reason thatI'm looking at.
SPEAKER_04 (21:17):
Okay, keep going.
All right, I want that one.
Okay, you can have it, that'sfine.
Um, and I feel like instead ofstarting every game like 15
minutes, 15 minutes, 15 minutes,I kind of miss how they did it
when they did the the firstround uh after like COVID
(21:40):
happened where all 24 teams madeit.
We had like hockey from like 10a.m.
all the way to like 10 p.m.
SPEAKER_01 (21:47):
I want to get I
think the the Kings game was uh
eight o'clock at night.
SPEAKER_04 (21:52):
Yeah, and it was
late.
Yeah, but like no, I I want itlike ending at eight or I'm
sorry, not at 10 o'clock, not atlike you know, almost midnight.
You know, I feel like that likethere should be like a game that
starts at like 10 a.m.
and then every half hour or so anew game starts.
SPEAKER_01 (22:13):
Yeah, but then you
don't you you don't get as much
of the exposure for people towatch it, that's what they're
looking for.
SPEAKER_04 (22:20):
Exposure I've had I
remember when that that when
that when they were doing that, there were so many fans like
dude, this is awesome! Like, pretty much like 12 you get more
exposure because you're goingfor 12 hours instead of the
seven and a half hours they didon Tuesday.
Now you got stuff seven and ahalf, you got 12.
A lot, and that's if you thinkabout it, if you have that time,
(22:43):
that extra what four and a halfhours.
You get also that's also howmuch more time for
advertisements, moresponsorships, and all this.
SPEAKER_01 (22:55):
I meant for the
people to watch their teams
because there'd be a lot ofcompetition.
There's you'd have you know fourgames going on, they'd have four
games going on at all.
SPEAKER_04 (23:07):
But there was more
competition during Tuesday's
night because they were doing itevery 15 minutes.
Okay, they were doing like fouro'clock, four fifteen, four
thirty.
Oh, so you're saying spread itout a little bit more, okay?
Yeah, spread it out a little bitmore, and you get more time
because that's what they didlike for the the first that
first round of COVID, those likethose playoff games, and
(23:30):
everyone was loving it.
So that's what I'm saying.
But uh, what did you have anythoughts on the Frozen Fury?
SPEAKER_01 (23:40):
Um, it was kind of
crazy.
I mean, 30 32 teams all playingin one day.
Um, it was great for uh fantasyhockey because everybody had
everybody to be able to play, soyou had definitely more choices
(24:01):
um on fantasy hockey night andstuff.
So um, it's probably one of thebiggest uh nights for fantasy
players because, like I said, you always have someone who can
play, unless they're injured.
Yep.
SPEAKER_00 (24:18):
Oh, and so I'll talk
about that one later.
SPEAKER_01 (24:20):
All right.
SPEAKER_04 (24:21):
Um you want to go
next?
SPEAKER_01 (24:25):
Sure.
Uh the Capitals have signedforward Brett Leeson to a
one-year$775,000 deal.
SPEAKER_04 (24:35):
Yeah, uh that's
where he uh he was before he was
a duck.
So congrats.
I I like I said I liked BrettLeeson.
I wish the ducks would havere-signed him.
SPEAKER_01 (24:46):
I I liked him too.
I liked the way he played.
SPEAKER_04 (24:50):
I think he'd be a
good playoff, a good fourth-line
playoff guy.
SPEAKER_01 (24:56):
Obviously, uh
Quinnville felt differently, so
that's why he's there anymore.
SPEAKER_00 (25:02):
I don't know if it
was Quinnville.
I think it was Verbeek.
Verbeak?
Yeah, but I like to call himVerpeak because his nose looks
like uh the little the littleball of hate will come after you
for that.
SPEAKER_01 (25:19):
That's okay.
He can come after me.
I'm not afraid of him.
SPEAKER_04 (25:22):
Um, and then some
some sad news here, not sad, but
not positive news.
Former NHL or and former duckRyan Kessler has been charged
with fourth degree criminalsexual assault conduct and has
pleaded not guilty.
That's not good.
SPEAKER_01 (25:44):
No, you don't get uh
to that point in it where it's
being announced that they don'thave something of credibility
behind it, but I guess we'llhear more as that goes on.
SPEAKER_04 (25:56):
Yeah, so uh I don't
know too much about the whole
this and everything, so maybewe'll when we can update, we'll
update it.
This update on the podcast.
So, all right, you got the bluesone.
Go.
Okay, I don't know what made Idon't know what made this funny.
SPEAKER_01 (26:13):
You'll see in a
minute.
Blues forward, Jake neighborswill miss at least five weeks
with a right leg injury.
Like a good neighbor, state farmis there.
And who is the state farm guy?
Jake.
Jake neighbors.
I just thought it was funny.
I don't know if anybody elsewould have thought of that, but
(26:34):
I did.
SPEAKER_04 (26:38):
Like a good
neighbor, State Farm is there
with the new co-host.
I didn't work.
Wow, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (26:47):
You're still here.
I don't know how to processthis.
I just I don't know.
I I saw it made me think of itright away.
SPEAKER_04 (27:04):
Well, everyone, I I
think we found one of the most
ultimate dad jokes of all time.
And it's live here on RoyallyQuacked.
All right, uh, Adam hop in.
Oh god, that was bad.
All right, I that's why it wasthat's why it was fun.
I I want to hear in the commentswhat everyone thought of that.
SPEAKER_01 (27:27):
Well, I can already
see it.
SPEAKER_04 (27:29):
I will say it was
clever.
I will give you that.
It was clever.
Oh, even mom.
There it is.
Bad dad joke.
SPEAKER_01 (27:42):
It's okay.
I didn't do it for her.
SPEAKER_04 (27:47):
Adam's dead.
Great job, Dad.
You killed Adam.
SPEAKER_01 (27:54):
Adam, I guess you're
switching to allegiance if you
want to be a co-host.
It'll be it'll be quackedquacked.
SPEAKER_04 (28:03):
All right.
How about just quackers?
Isn't that something you want tobe called?
Well, you're two quacks.
Quacker.
Yeah, but never mind.
I I don't want to go into awhole history lesson here.
All right, let's get back, let'sget back to the news.
(28:23):
Um, devil's defenseman BrettPesci will miss at least a month
with an upper body injury.
Wow.
SPEAKER_01 (28:33):
Yeah.
Now we got signings.
Dallas Stars re-signeddefenseman Thomas Harley to an
eight-year 10.58.6 million AAVcontract.
SPEAKER_03 (28:50):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (28:51):
Wow, how do you how
come you go four decimals?
After maybe he likes math.
I don't know.
And that's uh perb, uh Pierre LeBrun.
SPEAKER_04 (29:04):
Honestly, I I think
it's someone that take uh
deserves that this kind of deal.
Oh, absolutely.
I agree.
You know, I I I I like the wayhe plays.
He really I would say made aname for himself at last year's
Four Nation, or I should saythis last earlier this year's
Four Nation, I should say.
SPEAKER_01 (29:23):
Yeah, he was uh key
member for USA.
SPEAKER_04 (29:27):
You know, when
McCart went out, he he was a big
thing for uh team.
SPEAKER_01 (29:32):
They had a they had
a couple of young defensemen
come in and play really well forhim, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (29:38):
Um, and the next bit
of news um another big a lot of
eight-year contracts here.
Utah mammoth sign forward LoganCooley to an eight-year$10
million AAV contract extensionin this and all and uh by the
all these deals that we'retalking about will start next
(29:58):
year, by the way.
Um so ducks fans.
I'm guessing that this is gonnalook closely to what Carlson's
next contract will probably be.
It's gonna be like this or more.
SPEAKER_01 (30:15):
Wow.
Oh, yeah.
The the double-digit millionsare becoming the norm now.
SPEAKER_04 (30:22):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (30:23):
Um Colorado, uh
Colorado Avalanche have signed
pending restricted free agentMartin Niches to an eight year
11.5 million AAV contract.
Well, there goes another guythat would.
Nobody's gonna get he's gonnastay in Colorado.
SPEAKER_04 (30:44):
It it it's funny
because a lot of people were
saying, like, wow, like theydidn't think that Natchez was
gonna sign before Kempe.
They thought uh out of the two, they thought it was gonna be
Natchez going to free agency andKempe was gonna be signing the
long-term deal.
But again, that deal right thereis gonna look pretty close to
(31:05):
what Kempe's probably gonna begetting because I think Kempe is
a better player than Natchez is,in my honest opinion.
Yeah, I I don't I don't know.
Obviously, I have nothingagainst Natchez.
I think he's a fantastic player.
Absolutely.
I I just think Kempe is morevaluable.
SPEAKER_01 (31:25):
So I I I I could
think of uh 31 other teams that
would probably like to have himon their team.
SPEAKER_04 (31:32):
But the good news
for Colorado is they don't have
uh the ranting in 2.0 kind ofsituation.
True.
So now they're not worryingabout like if you're gonna sign
here or not.
Oh, we're just gonna trade you.
All right, and then uh NikitaNestor, uh Nikita Nestor, Nikita
(31:55):
Kutrov has achieved asignificant milestone in his
career by recording his 1000thpoint, and that was against the
uh Anaheim Ducks, by the way, too.
SPEAKER_01 (32:07):
Yes, and I believe
in the same game, right?
Victor Henman records his 800thcareer point and becomes the
third Swedish defenseman toreach this milestone.
SPEAKER_04 (32:19):
Yeah, two two
they're gonna be two Hall of
Famers right there.
Uh, not a doubt.
Yep, and then speaking of futureHall of Famers, Sidney Crosby
made history on October 27th,becoming the ninth player in NHL
history to reach 1700 points.
He hit the milestone with a goaland two assists in the Penguins
(32:42):
6-3 win over the Blues.
Uh, Crosby is just the fourthplayer to achieve this while
spending his entire career withone team joining legends like
Gordy Howe, Steve Iserman, andMario Lemieux.
SPEAKER_01 (32:58):
And talk about the
talk about the Hall of Fame
right there.
Yeah, no doubt.
Yeah, not only is he a greathockey player, he he's just a
great person.
Yes, he is, and I do miss um himand flurry pranking each other.
(33:21):
I I just totally miss that,yeah.
Um, and you know, Fleury, obviously another Hall of Famer,
Mark Andre Fleury, yeah.
I'm I'm I'm gonna miss him.
I mean, he's been a staple forthe last years, and just before
I go, we go on to the next pieceof news, Adam.
(33:44):
You had a chance, you reallydid.
I think you were the firstperson Cody asked to do a duck
podcast with him.
SPEAKER_04 (33:52):
Uh no.
SPEAKER_01 (33:54):
No, no, I brought
him up and you said no, he
couldn't do it.
Did I ask?
That's what I can't remember ifI did.
He adam when Cody talked aboutdoing uh I don't think I ever
no, you did because I asked Igo.
What about Adam?
Adam would be perfect for the uhanother uh duck coach.
SPEAKER_04 (34:17):
Oh, I think it was
like the job thing.
I think he couldn't do itbecause of his job.
SPEAKER_01 (34:22):
But what I'm that's
what I'm trying to say.
You had your chance, it couldhave been whatever Cody's name
would have been.
I can't remember what you hadpicked out.
SPEAKER_04 (34:31):
Oh, I have it, I'm
saving it for myself for later.
SPEAKER_01 (34:35):
Oh, so you're gonna
go go solo, huh?
SPEAKER_04 (34:37):
No, no, I'm not
going.
I'm not I'm not gonna go just inTuberlink on you, okay.
Don't worry.
SPEAKER_01 (34:46):
Well, hey, you got
you got a co-host.
SPEAKER_04 (34:49):
Yeah.
Well, I'm pretty sure I I Ithink doing this, I've met so
many more people, like peoplethat I could if I wanted to, I
could do it now.
SPEAKER_01 (35:00):
So you're just uh
throwing Adam out with a bath
water.
SPEAKER_04 (35:05):
No, I'm just saying,
well, I mean, I mean, there's
Adam.
I could have, you know, like Isaid, I I there's other people
that I'm pretty sure if I askednow, they'd be like, Oh, yeah,
let's do it.
SPEAKER_01 (35:15):
Okay, you're in a
long line, Adam.
SPEAKER_04 (35:18):
Well, no, I I think
Adam would be it would be on top
just because we we got we we cango back and forth, him and I,
with all that with the duckstuff, too.
Uh I'm sure, yeah.
So I'm sure and then and hey, itwould be also another
connection.
We you and I, the umpiring one,and then uh Adam and I can do
(35:38):
umpiring stuff too.
Yeah, which I kind of do want tolike do like an umpire project
next off season.
SPEAKER_01 (35:46):
We're gonna get
Adam, Eric, you and I, and we're
gonna do an um Royally Quack theumpire edition, you know, and
talk about games we've donesometimes together.
SPEAKER_03 (36:00):
Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_01 (36:01):
I mean, I I've I've
already told about a story about
Eric, yeah you know, so I mean Ijust think it'd be fun.
Yeah.
Am I up next?
Yes, you're up.
Okay, Brad Marchand is steppingaway from the Florida Panthers
to help a friend whose daughterdied last week of cancer.
(36:22):
March and is uh Marchhand isserving as a guest coach
Wednesday night for the under 18March and Mill Company hunters
in his hometown of Halifax, NovaScotia, in place of friend JP
McCallum.
Marchhand is also a co-owner ofthe team.
(36:43):
I he as much as people hate himsometimes playing against him,
he's actually a pretty good guyoff the ice, and and a night.
I mean, that's that's big.
He's stepping away to helpsomeone, you know, that's uh is
hurting.
SPEAKER_04 (37:00):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (37:02):
So I give kudos to
uh Brad for that.
SPEAKER_04 (37:06):
That's why he uh he
did not play in the duck uh the
game against the ducks onTuesday.
SPEAKER_01 (37:13):
Will he be back this
next week?
SPEAKER_04 (37:15):
Uh I haven't heard
anything.
I'm guessing he he should beback.
Uh I haven't uh been updated onif he's played or not since
then.
So um, and then last bit of thenews is the New Jersey Devils
have signed goalie JacobMarkstrom to a two-year
extension worth six million AAV.
(37:36):
So now they just have a littleextra uh term on each of their
goalies.
SPEAKER_01 (37:42):
That's this is kind
of surprised me because he's
been kind of injury prone thisseason, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (37:48):
And also he's what
like 37.
Yeah, I don't know how old heis.
He's pretty old, if I rememberright.
Let's see if I can Jacob Mar.
SPEAKER_01 (38:03):
Uh he is tell Max to
knock it off.
Max?
SPEAKER_04 (38:09):
That's Milo.
Oh, Milo, sorry.
Yeah, it's one of those M names.
Yeah, oh he's oh sorry, he's 35right now.
I thought he was older.
Yeah, anyways.
Um, you want you want to getinto game recaps?
(38:30):
Sure.
I'll let you go.
Just well, because it's one, itwould be an order, and two, you
got one more game than I do.
SPEAKER_01 (38:39):
You know, I didn't
prepare my game, so why don't
you do one and I'll do one andI'll try to get mine set up.
You had one job.
I know.
I was busy doing something else,if you remember right.
You had one job, anyways.
SPEAKER_04 (38:57):
All right, so the
ducks um on Sunday uh played in
Tampa Bay, Florida, or shouldthey Tampa, Florida, um, where
they face off the against theLightning.
This was the fourth game of thefive-game road trip.
Uh, the Ducks fall to this onefour to three uh against the
Lightning.
Like I said, this is the gamethat Kutcharov reaches a
(39:19):
thousand points.
Um, to get the scoring startedin the first period, Jake Gensel
scored his third of the year totake a one-nothing lead.
And then in the second period,Jacob Truba got his second goal
of the year, and then theassists go to Terry and
McTavish.
So we were tied one at the 442mark, and then Jake Gensel
(39:42):
again.
So now we're on hat trick watchfor Jake Gensel scores his
fourth of the year to take a 2-1lead, then Anthony Anthony
Sorelli gets his fourth of theyear uh to make it 3-1 Tampa
Bay, and that so it was 3-1after two periods, and then Ryan
Paling gets his first as anAnaheim duck assist from Ross
(40:05):
Johnston, Andrew Hellison tomake it 3-2, and then Troy Terry
gets his third of the year,Cutter Goodyear gets his second
assist, and Leo Carlson hissixth assist.
So now we're tied 3-3, and thenat the 16-45 mark, Anthony
Sorelli scores on the power playto make it his fifth goal of the
(40:27):
year.
Uh, and that was the final goal.
So Tampa Bay wins this one fourto three.
The stats the Ducks did outshootthe Tampa Bay lighting 40 to 33.
The ducks barely lost in theface-off percentage, 52 to 48.
Ducks were 0 for 2 on the powerplay, but uh Tampa Bay was one
(40:51):
for six, and the ducks had atotal of 19 penalty minutes.
Um, Tampa Bay did outshoot us 21to 14, block shots 17 to 15 in
favor of Anaheim, 23 giveawaysfor Tampa Bay to Anaheim's 10,
and then the Ducks had eighttakeaways, and Tampa Bay had
five.
Um, Bill Stahl was was fantasticin in this game, uh stopping, I
(41:16):
believe it was 29 of 33.
And then the three stars of thegame, uh Jake Gensel with two
goals, um is the number three.
Uh Sorelli with two goals, oneassist is number two, and the
guy that uh got the thousandgame, uh thousand points um was
Nikita Kutrov.
(41:38):
He got two assists in the gamefor two points, and he was the
number one star.
SPEAKER_01 (41:44):
All right.
So my my first game was um kingsat the Nashville Predators, and
I I don't know what's going onwith the Kings.
It's like they they somehow getto be competitive and then can't
(42:08):
finish.
So, I mean, let's go just go,we'll go straight to the
scoring.
Um, of course, in the firstperiod, who starts off the
scoring but the unsigned one,Adrian Kempe with his fifth from
Clark and Kuzmenko, and theKings are up one-nothing.
(42:31):
But it didn't take but a minuteand 33 seconds later, Ryan
O'Reilly gets his fourth fromStazny his third, the
nine-minute mark to tie the gameto one-one.
That's how the first periodended, and then 36 seconds into
(42:54):
the second period.
Philip Forsberg gets his thirdfrom Wood his first and O'Reilly
is third to put the Predators uptwo to one.
Then Joel Armia gets his firstgoal as a king, from Turcott his
second, about a minute and uhabout a minute later to tie the
(43:16):
score two.
Then who else but ex-Duck Coreyor Scory Perry scores his second
from Armia, his fourth, to putthe Kings up 3-2.
But then Cole Smith, uh, twominutes later, gets his third
(43:36):
unassisted, and we're going intothe third period tied three
three.
So we keep getting a lead and wekeep giving it back.
So we go to the third period, and Trevor Moore gets his third
from Brant Clark as third assistand Edmondson his second assist
at the 950 mark to put the Kingsup 4-3.
(43:56):
But at the 1444 mark, RyanO'Reilly got gets his fifth from
Forrestburg's third, and Haighis first on a wrist shot to tie
the game.
Goes to overtime, and I dobelieve the Kings should have
won it in overtime, but theydidn't, so it goes to a
shootout.
Seems like we've gone to a lotof shootouts right now.
(44:19):
Um and Nashville chose to gofirst.
O'Reilly scores, Kempe scores, then Forbesburg scores.
Perry got you know, he he got uhshot off, but it was saved.
Um Stamcos shot was saved.
Trevor Moore scored a goal.
(44:41):
It this went on for a littlebit, if I remember right.
Marcus save, Byfield save.
Jesus, Wood save, Kazmenko save,Evangelista save, Fiala saved,
and finally uh Eric Hall scoresa goal.
I don't know, it had Kevin Fialain there again, but I don't
(45:03):
think it could have been himtwice.
Um never had well it has himtwice in the shootout, and you
can't do it twice unless you goall the way around.
Well, anyways, um, anyways, uhHollow scored, Fiala scored,
(45:24):
Bunting save, Fogle save,Wheezeblatt scores, and then
Armia goes and a save.
I think it went 11, and theKings lose the game five to
four.
Let's go to let's go to thestats and just see.
You know, it's it's it's such aweird season that totally unlike
(45:48):
the Kings of last year, rightnow.
Um we outshot Nashville 40 to25, but they won the face-off 55
to 44 percent.
We were 0 for 3 on the powerplay, they were 0 for 2, so at
least our penalty kill finallydid their job.
(46:09):
Um, but hits were 23-11Nashville block shots 19 to 7
Nashville.
Now, of course, we win thegiveaway one.
We gave away 22 to 15.
That seems like a too high of anumber, and then takeaways were
nine for Nashville, five for theKings.
Let's go to the three stars ofthe game.
(46:33):
And obviously, there isn't aking in the bunch.
Forrestberg with a goal andassist was the third star.
Soros was the second star with asave percentage of nine percent
and goals against the average of3.69.
And the number one starobviously was Ryan O'Reilly with
two goals and an assist.
(46:53):
And we can move on to your nextgame, Cody.
SPEAKER_04 (46:58):
It it got I even
looked on ESPN and it has Fiala
shooting twice.
That's where I got it from.
No, though that's on NHL.
I'm looking on ESBN too.
Weird, huh?
I I gotta watch that if if it'spossible.
Like instead, he didn't gotwice.
(47:19):
I watched it.
I'm kidding, because heliterally went almost like twice
in a row.
That's weird, huh?
Okay, um, so that now the duckswill face the Florida Panthers,
as like I said earlier, uh, whenMarshand was not gonna be
(47:40):
playing in this game.
Uh but uh so this ends thefive-game road trip.
So, right now, at this point, wethe ducks are two, one, and one
on the road trip.
So then we head over to SouthFlorida to face off the two-time
defending champions, and theducks do squeak one out in a
shootout three to two, andhere's the scoring.
(48:04):
There was no scoring in thefirst period whatsoever.
But I can tell you the duckswere getting outshot bad.
Uh, it was 12 to 6 after one,and then 7 to 10 after uh 70 uh
seven shots for the ducks, 10shots for the Panthers.
In the third period, the Ducksonly had three shots on goal,
and Florida only had six.
(48:25):
And then even in the overtime, one shot for Anaheim, five shots
for Florida.
But the Ducks took threeliterally three penalties within
the first 10 minutes of thesecond period.
But luckily, on the third one,Leo Carlson gets a short-handed
(48:47):
goal, and it's his fourth goalof the year, assist from Terry
and Hellison.
So the ducks take the leadone-nothing, uh, right around
halfway point of the game at9.59.
And then Cutter Gaultier on thepower play gets his sixth goal
of the season.
Uh, assist from Lacombe andCarlson.
So now it's 2-0 Anaheim, and theDucks were whole holding the
(49:09):
lead pretty well, but then atthe 11-12 mark, Anton Londell
scores his third of the year, and then Sam Reinhardt scores,
and now we were tied uh 2-2, andthat was at the 1654 mark.
We go into overtime, no score, and then we go into shootout.
(49:31):
Uncle Leo goes first, and and hegets uh stopped.
Uh Reinhart goes, don't stophim, and then Troy Terry does
the I guess what they call thethe no move move, and he did you
know that you know that Kutarovmove, Dad.
That yes, I know what you're sohe did he did it to the uh what
(49:54):
was it markstrom twice?
No, he did it to Leonard twice.
No, Holpey, it was BradenHolpey.
SPEAKER_01 (50:01):
Yeah, I I go shame
on you for the second time that
happened to you.
SPEAKER_04 (50:07):
Yeah, but well, Troy
Terry did something similar, but
he didn't mean to do it, and youcould tell right away, like his
when he smiled right after hescored, because he you could
just tell right away he's like,Yeah, I didn't mean to score
that.
Um, or I didn't mean to do that, but yeah, it was funny.
So he scores, and then AntonLundell scores, so now we're
(50:28):
tied one-one after two, and thenMason McTavish.
Oh my god, he just embarrassed.
Um, I don't remember thePanthers goalie.
It was the backup guy.
Um, he just embarrassed him, andoh, it was a terror teras off.
(50:48):
That's what right, and just putit right between his legs, and
Mason Retavish uh gets a secondgoal in the shootout, and then
Dostal stops Evan Rodriguez.
So the Ducks went in a shootoutthree to two and ends the
five-game road trip.
So the ducks are three-one toone on the road trip.
And here are the stats.
(51:10):
Um, ducks got outshot 33 to 17and got killed in the face-off
percentage 60 61 to 39.
Power play.
The ducks were one for five, butthe power play was a perfect
four for four.
Uh penalty uh uh so hits uh 30to 19 in favor of Florida.
(51:31):
Um block shots 22 to 17, uh infavor of um Florida.
Giveaways, each team had 16, andthe ducks had four takeaways to
two.
And here are your three stars ofthe game.
Uh Anton Lundell with the onegoal as the number three star,
Lukash Dostall, who had what wasit, 31 saves?
(51:55):
Yeah, 31 saves on 33 shots, uh,a goals against average of 1.89
and a save percentage of 939.
He's the number two star, andthen Mason McTavish is the
number one star with the filthyshootout goal winner, and that
is our second star or secondgame of the week.
SPEAKER_01 (52:17):
Okay, then we go to
uh the 2026th against the
Blackhawks in Chicago.
It it was a good game.
Chicago's surprising me, Cody.
They are surprising.
Yeah, um, I'm gonna go straightto the scoring, and of course,
(52:41):
you know, last season I calledthem uh not the Blackhawks, but
I called them the Bedards.
And who scores first in thefirst period but Connor Bedard
with his third goal from McKayf.
Yep, his second assist at the704 mark, and it is 1-0 Chicago,
(53:01):
and it stayed that way throughthe first period.
Then in the second period, um330 into the second period, Alex
LaFerriere, who's starting toplay like he did a little bit
more offensively, like lastyear.
Uh he gets his second from CoreyPerry, his first, and Philip
(53:23):
Deneau his third to tie thescore.
Then a minute and 24 secondslater, Kevin Fiala gets his
fifth from Brant Clark hisfourth to put the Kings up after
two periods, two games to one,or two two goals, two to one,
(53:45):
and score two games to one.
I'm thinking baseball all of asudden.
Then in the third period, JoelArmaria gets his second on an
empty netter at the 1852 markfrom Kempe his eighth, and
Edmonton his third.
And the Kings go and get avictory in Chicago.
(54:07):
They're breaking their uhregulation win or no wins to at
least to one, and the shots ongoal, they were close.
23 Blackhawks, Kings 22face-offs, uh Chicago 56 to 44
percent.
(54:27):
Both of them were 0 for on thepower play.
The Kings were 0 for 3, um,Chicago 0 for 5.
So obviously, our penalty killdecided to play a little at
least a little bit, and then inhits, here's another that's
another game 24 hits to 14.
That's that's a big discrepancy.
(54:48):
Um, block shots were eight eightgiveaways, of course.
We won that battle, which wedon't want to win 19-11, and
takeaways were six for Chicago,uh, four for the Kings.
Let's go to the three stars.
Um, obviously, uh Connor Bedardgetting the only goal for
(55:10):
Chicago was the third star.
Alex LaFerrier was the secondstar with a goal, and Kevin
Fiala also with a goal was thefirst star.
So at least we broke the streakof non-regulation wins.
SPEAKER_04 (55:29):
So I found out who
the Phantom second Fiala is.
Okay.
So the first Fiala, the one thatgot blocked in the Predators
game in the shootout, was PhilipDeneau.
(55:49):
It wasn't Fiala, and then EricHolla scored, and then Fiala
goes, and then he scores.
I just watched the full shootoutright now, just to I sped
through because I'm like, it wasbugging me.
It was a typo, it really didn'tmake it.
But here's the thing (56:08):
it was on
NHL and ESPN, two different
networks or two different likeplatforms.
That's okay.
Um, we're always talking crap onyou.
You're always talking crap onus, Adam.
SPEAKER_01 (56:29):
Well, I guess if the
shoe fits, Adam, you gotta wear
it.
Alright.
SPEAKER_04 (56:36):
All right.
I feel I feel better knowing whothe phantom second Fiala was.
Uh what were we talking?
I don't know.
Was it about you texting me lastweek about the why we weren't
(56:57):
doing a live stream, or I don'tknow.
Oh, we also had uh Kevin.
Yeah, Kevin.
Hope you guys are well.
Glad to see you back on Twitchagain this week.
Yeah, we we had a we we just Ihad uh something to do last week
and we couldn't do the livestream, but I know it's I like
doing the live streams, they'refun.
SPEAKER_01 (57:17):
I gotta tell you,
Kevin, you're very competitive
in fantasy hockey, buddy.
Way to go! Yeah, all right.
SPEAKER_04 (57:24):
Um, let's see, let's
go back to my game.
So here's my last game of theweek, and it happened last night
on Halloween.
The ducks uh faced off against10 times if I could oh that one,
uh Adam.
It was about um we were talkingcrap.
(57:46):
I think that was when my dad wassaying I wanted when I wanted to
start just a ducks podcast, andI think I think I asked you when
I first started, but you saidyou couldn't with work.
That's the only we weren'ttalking crap, we were just your
name got brought up, okay.
But I think I asked you if youwanted to do the podcast, like
host a ducks podcasting me, butI think you couldn't because of
(58:09):
work.
I believe that's what it was.
Then uh Kevin, thanks, Gary.
But I see your scores, and I'mscared to play you next week.
I mean, Kevin, if you saw howbad my dad kicked my butt the
other week, you should bescared.
Oh, Kevin, it it every weekchange it changes, so Adam, and
(58:33):
doing an all-umpire podcast withus two.
Uh you, me, my dad, and Eric.
That's right.
Thank you, mom, for that.
All right, back to how is thattalking crap?
No, I think he just he justheard his name because usually
when we bring him up, we'reusually talking crap on each
other.
(58:54):
I think he just assumed.
All right, back to the game.
So this was John Gibson's returnto Anaheim.
Um oh, we know Adam, we know, trust us.
Um, his first game after beingtraded to Detroit in the
offseason.
(59:14):
Great tribute video, and it wasit was it was tough seeing
Gibson in a red in Red Wingsgear.
It it was very weird for me.
Um, but it's good to know thatuh we we we own the Red Wings
still, so I'm happy about that.
Um, but the ducks win this onefive to two last night on
(59:37):
Halloween.
Um, let's get the scoringstarted in this one.
On the penalty kill, that'sright.
Not in just um, no, it wasn't.
I'm glad he's gone.
SPEAKER_01 (59:51):
He's talking about
Gibson.
Oh, yeah.
That's what I was laughingabout.
Oh, I weird to see him, and hegot out of the game.
SPEAKER_04 (01:00:05):
Um other than his
him being injury prone the last
few years and everything likethat.
I mean, he he was really goodlast year for the ducks when he
wasn't injured.
Um, but uh Troy Terry got thescoring start on this one, his
fourth uh goal of the year, shorthanded a goal.
(01:00:26):
Um, and I gotta say this, Idon't remember the last time the
ducks had you know multipleshorthanded goals like this
since what I want to say theKessler Silverberg Cogliano
line, I think since like what2017, 2016, that we had like
(01:00:48):
short, like an actual likescoring penalty kill.
Um, but uh the assist on thatone go to Drew Hellison, his
fourth of the year, and LeoCarlson's eighth assist of the
year.
Um, but about uh less than fourminutes later, Lucas Raymond
scores uh his third of the year,so now it's one-one, and then
(01:01:09):
Uncle Leo gets his fifth of theyear.
Troy Terry his eighth assist ofthe season, and Jacob Truba's
fourth assist of the year.
So now it's two-one Anaheimafter one.
Then we go into the second, andMr.
McTavish just keeps he gets thepuck and just goes from right
and then goes in the middle.
And I guess the I didn't knowthis, but the Red Wings play
(01:01:31):
like that man-to-man defense,and Mr.
McTavish mate got the two guysconfused, and they end up
bumping into each other, and heand McTavish just puts it like
right in between like fiveplayers in the front of the net,
and it and goes in.
Beautiful shot, beautiful playby McTavish there.
That's his second goal of theyear.
(01:01:53):
Uh Zellwegger and Cutter withassist at Zellwegger second and
cutters third, so it's 3-1Anaheim.
And of course, I don't know whatit is.
Every time I watch the Ducksplay against the Red Wings, and
the Red Wings have a power play,it their power play looks so
good.
And they even have Patrick Kanein this game.
(01:02:13):
They're just the way they passthe puck.
It's it's fun to watch the RedWings on the power play.
I mean, it sucks that it'salways against the Ducks when I
see this, but they I do like theway they their power play moves
the puck.
Uh, but Dubrinka gets his fourthgoal the year on the power play,
so it's three to uh Anaheimafter two, and then we go into
(01:02:34):
the third period, and it was allducks scoring from there.
Chris Crater gets uh on theboard on the power play goal,
his fifth goal the year,Cutter's fourth assist of the
season, and Leo Carlson's ninthassist of the year, and so it's
four to Anaheim, and that wasjust less than a minute into the
um the game.
(01:02:56):
And this one was a weird goalbecause Gibson kind of pushed
the puck, or not the puck, thenet off its mornings, but the
ducks still had a sh likepossession and an actual shot,
and Kreider shot it, and ittechnically would have been a
goal if Gibson didn't move thenet.
So they and they reviewed it.
(01:03:17):
We had and it was a goal, so itwas four or two.
Anaheim, and then Troy Terry onthe empty net gets his fifth of
the year, and Leo Carlson'stenth assist.
That's right, you heard 10thassist.
I believe Carlson had afour-point night last night.
Terry had one, two, uh, he hadthree uh three points last
(01:03:41):
night.
Uh, Del Stall was just fantasticin this game.
Um, now you can see why we hadDostal as the 1A last year over
Gibson.
Uh, it was this game that reallyproved why Dostal's number one
and why he got that contract.
Um, the ducks outshot Detroit 32to 30.
(01:04:03):
Faceoffs.
We got to work on our face-offs.
Um, it was 65 to 35.
Power play, we were one forfive, and Detroit was one for
seven.
Yeah.
Um, we did out hit them 21 to16.
12.
Uh, we outblocked shot them.
I don't know if that's the rightword.
(01:04:24):
Uh, we had more block shots, uh12 to 10.
Uh giveaways were even at 22,and the red wings had three
takeaways to one.
The three stars of the game wasJacob Truba uh with one assist
for one point.
I tell you, I'm very impressedwith the way Jacob Truba is
playing this year.
I am very impressed with the wayhe's playing.
(01:04:45):
Uh, and then Leo Carlson is thenumber two star with one goal,
three assists for four points.
And then Troy Terry continueshis hot streak in with two
goals, one assist for threepoints as the number one star of
the game.
So that ends our our little uhweekly recap for the games for
(01:05:06):
the ducks.
And I know you have uh afteryou're done, I want to talk
about the 10 games, first 10games of the year for the ducks.
After you I got two games left,so I'll give you a little bit of
a break after after I'm donewith that.
After your two games, yes.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:25):
Okay, just want to
make sure.
Yep, okay.
So we go to San Jose and playthe sharks, and this game starts
off pretty good.
Um, Corey the scorey parrystarts off the scoring in the
(01:05:47):
first.
SPEAKER_04 (01:05:47):
No, no, no.
You can't just do Corey thescorey.
No, this isn't blues clues, yougotta just do scory perry.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:55):
No, I I wanted to
you know mix it up a little.
Uh he scores the goal at the1054 mark, his third already in
the short period of time he'sbeen playing, with uh with Clark
his fifth assist and Ferrier hissecond assist to put the Kings
(01:06:16):
up one to nothing, and thatthat's how the first period
ends.
And the Kings are upone-nothing, they had six shots
on goal.
San Jose had seven.
It gets scary going into thesecond period, so then Jeff
(01:06:39):
Millot gets his second fromPerry, his second, and Edmundson
Corey the scory, one of us.
SPEAKER_04 (01:06:48):
He's with the kings
now, he can have that terrible
nickname.
That'd be like me saying DaveRedick was oh Dave the big save
Dave.
You see how stupid it sounds?
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:02):
No, it's okay, you
can do what you want.
I'm gonna do what I want.
Corey the scorey, Kevin likedit, so hey, zip it, boy.
Don't make me put you in timeout during the podcast.
SPEAKER_04 (01:07:17):
I want to hear the
comments on this one.
You're already seeing it.
No, I meant like when the wholepodcast like when we it goes on
a podcast.
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:27):
Okay, so can I go on
or do you want to interrupt some
more?
Go Corey the scorey, zip it,Cody, zip it.
Millot gets a second from Perry, his second, and Edmondson is
fourth to make it 2-0 at the 321mark.
Then Drew Daddy gets his firstfrom Doomlin, his first, and
Turkot his third at the 643 markto put the Kings up three to
(01:07:52):
nothing.
So they're up three to nothing, and at this time that I think
they'd been outshot by at leastseven or eight shots already.
Uh, and they're winning three tonothing.
But all of a sudden, here comethe sharks.
Will Smith gets his third fromCelebrini, his tenth, and Tefoli
his second.
And I gotta tell you guys,Celebrini's the real deal, man.
(01:08:16):
Yeah, I mean, totally impressed.
I think I I I brought up aquestion before the season
started.
Who would you take, Celebrini orBedard?
I think everybody tookCelebrini, though, and they're
both looking good right now.
Yeah, well, Celebrini's lookingawesome.
SPEAKER_04 (01:08:33):
Well, I think Bedard
only has like one less point
than Celebrini does, or not thatfar.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:40):
Yeah, uh well,
obviously they're uh two number
ones.
I mean, yeah.
Anyway, so then Philip Kurosovscores his second from Wenberg,
his third, and Eklund his sixthat the 17-6 mark, and now it's
three to two.
Second period ends with thekings up three to two.
(01:09:03):
But let's hear, let me just getthe shots for you.
The king had Kings had 10 shots.
Sharks had 23.
23 shots.
So now we're gonna go to thethird period, and Alex Wenberg
(01:09:24):
gets his second from Kirushefhis second, and Skinner his
second, and we're tied 3-3.
And that was at the 448 mark ofthe third period.
Then Brand Clark starting toshow some of that offensive
promise that the Kings wereexpecting, gets his second.
You've been hearing his namequite a bit today, by the way.
(01:09:45):
And Kempe um with his nineassists, uh, nine ninth assist,
and Edmondson with his fifth atthe 1320 mark for a 4-3 Kings
lead, and that's how the gameended.
4-3, but shots on goal 40 to 14,40 to 14.
(01:10:13):
How does a team that expected tocome in last in the division
outscore a team that's supposedto be a playoff team, out shoot
them 40 to 14?
Faceoffs.
Hey, the Kings won it 52-48.
Again, another I get obviouslythe PK's working a little bit
now.
Kings were 0 for 1, but San Josewas 0 for 5.
(01:10:36):
Hits now, at least we're in theballpark on this one.
Uh, we had 14, the sharks had17.
The block shots had to be thedifference because the kings had
23 to 12.
So that's when you definitelywant to win, but we keep winning
the giveaways.
Uh, that was 14 kings, ninesharks takeaways.
It was sharks six kings three.
(01:10:58):
Let's go to the three stars ofthe game.
Any guesses on who the threestars are?
All sharks.
No, no.
Actually, for the one of thefirst times they've actually put
the per person who should havebeen the first star, the first
star.
Winberg was the third star witha goal and assist.
(01:11:18):
In fact, all three of theseplayers had a goal and assist.
Kuroshev was a second star, obviously, with a goal and
assist.
And the game winner from BrantClark with a goal and assist is
your number one star.
And he should have been thenumber one star.
Okay, then we'll go to my lastgame, which is the Detroit Red
(01:11:41):
Wings.
And Wed Wings.
Yeah, I'm I'm Elma Fud.
So let's go to the scoring.
You know, LaFerry.
Uh, the second first period wasno scoring.
Second period, Alex LaFerriershort-handed from Quentin.
Uh Quentin Byfield is seventh, and CC is second on a backhand
(01:12:01):
shot.
Put the come uh the kings upone-nothing.
But that didn't stay very long.
Alex DeBrinkett on the powerplay gets his third from Raymond
is seventh, and Cider his fourthat the 1322 mark, just about a
minute later, and the game istied one.
Then Marco Casper scores on thepower play again, his second
(01:12:26):
from Sandine Polinka and hissecond, and cop his third, a
fourth, excuse me, um, to putthe Detroit up two to one, and
that's how it ended after twoperiods.
We go to the third period, andMarco Casper gets his third from
Appleton, his third, and Debrisat his ninth to put Detroit up
(01:12:48):
three to one.
Then we go to uh getting late inthe game, and who scores, but
Corey Perry with his fourth fromKempe is tenth, and Fiala is
fourth at the 1747 mark.
So now it's 3-2.
So, you know, we still havetime.
(01:13:10):
Then Corey Perry gets us fifthfrom Quentin Byfield is eighth,
and Kopitar is fifth at the 1827mark to tie the game up 3-3.
We go to overtime where weshould have won a game, and
overtime again.
We did not.
Uh we we go to a uh shootout, ashootout, and Adrian Kempe was
(01:13:36):
first to go for the Kings, andthere was a save.
Lucas Raymond scored.
Corey Perry shot save tobrinkett shot save, fiala shot
save, and then which fiala wasthis?
SPEAKER_04 (01:13:50):
Was this Philip
Deneau Fiala or Fiala Fiala?
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:54):
Uh I I do believe it
was the actual real Kevin Fiala.
Okay, just I think Deneau justdressed up early for Halloween,
looking like Fiala when he shotthat shot.
Maybe just maybe.
SPEAKER_04 (01:14:17):
24, 22, like I guess
it's kind of kind of close.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:21):
Yeah, well, but
still like multiple multiple
outlets got that wrong, so itwas so one thing I gotta say
about the media for the kings.
They give the proper playersthree stars, they don't care if
it's not a king.
(01:14:42):
I mean, Cory Perry was the thirdstar, he had two goals.
I mean, the the guy's 40 yearsold.
What uh he's like the energizerbunny, he just keeps going and
going and going, and and I couldsee why Ducks fan loved him for
so long.
Probably the Euler fans aregoing, God, we let him get away.
(01:15:07):
They should have re-signed him.
Uh, I it and look at I don'tthink Edmonton's doing fantastic
this year.
Alex Deprecant was a second starwith a goal and assist.
Um, and the first star was uhCasper with two goals and no
assist, and that finishes offthe games from uh last week.
SPEAKER_04 (01:15:30):
So uh go ahead,
Cody.
On on TikTok, I used one of thereels about Cory Perry finally
making his LA Ducks debut, and Igot quite a few comments on
TikTok.
Um, you know, friend of thepodcast, uh Tim from Go Dwigs or
Go Home.
He commented saying, couldn'tstand the guy.
(01:15:51):
Uh, but nice he joined LA.
Gotta love him since he's on theKings, he's a grinder, and love
his net front presence.
There's some other comments thatI'm I don't want to say on the
podcast.
Um, but Perry shouldn't get thehate.
Dude is getting us points.
That's all that matters.
(01:16:12):
Grow up.
And then here's another one.
Uh, and that was from Dane uhDemon Marquez.
This is from Laura.
Uh, I was excited ever since Iheard he was coming to us.
I know people aren't fond ofhim, and they keep saying he's a
he there's bad blood.
A lot of that stays on the ice.
He's friends with a lot of theguys on the team, especially
(01:16:34):
with Dowdy.
As Drew said, and as Drew said, and other people, he's a guy you
don't want to play against, he'sthe guy you want on your team.
And look how much he's done forus already.
I will root for Corey Perry.
He is an LA King now.
SPEAKER_01 (01:16:56):
You know, I I could
understand why Kings fans I know
Eddie Garcia from Lock on Kings.
He's just had so many years tohate the guy.
It's hard to like him, I mean,or say love him like a king.
But I mean, we're all aboutwinning, right?
(01:17:17):
Yep, and then and then and he'sa he he's a winner, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (01:17:22):
Lat last comment I'm
gonna say from uh Nate Benson.
As a Kings fan, Cory Perry isCory Perry on the team is hard
to see, but if he produces, I'lltake it.
But I'm definitely not buyinghis jersey.
I'm not buying either.
That's that's fine.
Um, I I wasn't you knowexpecting uh all that, but uh
(01:17:46):
Kevin did ask us a question.
Yeah, I I saw it.
If you guys can decide the threepenalty shots for the Kings, uh
who would you pick to shoot?
SPEAKER_01 (01:17:58):
Well, we were
missing one of the guys that
typically probably would haveshot early on um against the Red
Wings.
Uh Trevor Moore wasn't therethat night, and he would have
been probably in there.
I mean, I I would go KempeFiala.
I mean, I you you can't arguewith Perry, he's scoring goals,
(01:18:20):
but then I would have Moore go.
Um, I and you got you gotta orClark.
Let's get Clark in there.
He's he's he's he's quick withhis uh stick handling and stuff
and score goals, and and byfieldhasn't had much success, but I
think we need to throw him outthere and give him confidence.
(01:18:41):
I say let Kemper, I say letKemper go.
SPEAKER_04 (01:18:45):
What let Kemper take
the shootout?
Oh I uh I guess for the Kings, Idon't know who I mean, whoever
my dad thinks, I think it wouldbe the right choice as well.
Um, like I said for the ducks, Imean uh I mean I think we have
uh we have Leo, McTavish, andTerry.
(01:19:06):
I mean, that that's three greatshootout guys right there
already.
So um, but all right.
So are you done with the Kingstuff?
Yeah, okay.
So I just want to talk about thefirst 10 games from last season
for the Ducks and the first 10games of the season this year
(01:19:28):
for the Ducks.
So this is last year.
We were four, four, and two.
Are you just gonna leave now?
Alright, so the ducks were four, four, and two.
They had a total of 10 points, they had 20 goals for and seven
or sorry, 20 goals for and 27goals against their highest
(01:19:53):
point getter in those first 10games was Terry.
He had five goals and threeassists, and after that it was
Carl Carlson with four goals, two assists, and then after
that, and then after that, itwas Strome with three goals, two
assists.
So we had a guy with eightpoints, six points, and five
points.
Oh, and McTavish had fivepoints.
(01:20:14):
So those were the top four rightthere.
This season so far.
The ducks are six, three, andone with 13 points, 36 goals
for, and 33 goals against.
Our highest point getter rightnow is Carlson with 15 points,
five goals, 10 assists, and thenTerry with 13 points with five
(01:20:38):
goals, eight assists.
And then we got uh Cutter with10 points, six goals, four
assists, and then after that, weuh McTavish with eight points,
two goals, six assists, and thenGranlin, two goals, six assists
as well.
So already a huge difference inpoints from this from last
season to this season.
(01:21:00):
Like last year, we didn't evenhave any double-digit point guys
in the first 10 10 games.
This year we already have three, and we have two guys already
knocking on the doorstep.
And maybe if Granlin didn't gethurt in Tampa Bay, maybe he
could have been another uhdouble-digit uh point getter.
So it's just telling you thatthere's a lot of improvement
(01:21:21):
already from last season to thisseason, and I'm liking it so
far.
The ducks are very high-paced,you know, like not afraid to
beat you on the rush, which isthat's how they're scoring most
of these goals.
So I guess a big difference.
The only thing I would wish islike the less goals against
(01:21:41):
would be great.
I mean, that's what everyonewants, but from last year 27 to
this year 33, that that's likethe big difference.
Uh, like defensively, we need toget better on, but offensively,
20 goals for last year and 36goals for this year.
So, and like I said, Carlson'sin 10 games has 15 points.
(01:22:05):
I didn't like I said, we didn'teven have a single guy in double
digits last year in the first 10games, and we already got three
this year.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:13):
Oh, they're they're
definitely a huge improvement
offensively.
Yeah, huge.
SPEAKER_04 (01:22:22):
So Terry last year
in the first 10 games had eight
points.
This year, 13.
Carlson, 15 points this year.
Last year he had six.
Uh Cutter last year, six likeright now.
He has six goals, four assists.
Last year, uh Cutter had fourassists.
(01:22:45):
Remember, Cutter didn't scorehis first goal until like
mid-November.
And now he already has sixalready, and he still hit 20
goals last season.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:56):
Okay, so I I I have
to are you done with your little
thing?
I'm done.
I I didn't want to interrupt,sorry.
Um I had a question for you, andyou can't cheat and look.
Okay.
Name an Edmonton Euler in thetop 10 in scoring.
SPEAKER_04 (01:23:19):
Is there actually
one?
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:23):
You have to answer
the question.
It's not ask a question of theperson asking the question.
SPEAKER_04 (01:23:28):
So there is an
Edmonton Euler in the top ten
right now.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:33):
That's still a
question.
Give me an answer.
You can give me an answer on itbecause you don't know who the
top ten are.
Name me an Edmonton Euler in thetop ten.
Are you looking?
SPEAKER_04 (01:23:52):
No.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:59):
Um I'll change, I'll
even change the question.
Name an Edmonds and Euler in thetop 20 in scoring right now,
without including any games thatmight be played today, if there
are any going on right now.
And there is one.
SPEAKER_04 (01:24:21):
See, thank you.
That's all I want to know.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:23):
If there was I'm
gonna give you that in the top
10, there was zero.
SPEAKER_04 (01:24:27):
See, you that was a
trick question.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:28):
Zero.
That's the question.
What can you believe there'szero Edmonton Oilers in the top
10?
SPEAKER_04 (01:24:35):
Okay, see, that's
what I that's why I asked.
Like, I'm like, well, you cansee but I but you asked the
question, how many?
Or no, you said can you name me?
You didn't say how many, can youname me?
Yeah, so you you asked me a tripquestion, and technically I kind
of answered it by asking, wait, are there any?
So technically I would havegotten that right.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:57):
So there's one, and
can you tell me who that is and
what position they're in inscoring?
Are you looking at it?
SPEAKER_04 (01:25:11):
We already narrowed
it down to half of it.
I'ma say dry sidel at 18.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:21):
Pretty close.
Really?
Number he's 20th.
SPEAKER_04 (01:25:26):
So look, like I
said, I I swear I didn't look it
up or anything.
I believe you.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:40):
So IVC you've
already named a duck that is in
the top.
Yep, 20.
Or he's uh 16.
Actually Adrian Kempe and LeoCarlson are both tied with the
(01:26:02):
exact same stats, five goals, ten assists in 16th and 17th
place.
So we each have a guy above theMcJesus and Dreisidal.
Wow, that just blows me awaythinking about that because
you're always seeing McDavidDreisidel top five.
SPEAKER_04 (01:26:22):
Yeah, but the thing
is, like Edmonton always sucks
in the beginning, like theynever perform good, and then
they go, they just start likeyou know, a 10-game win streak,
and then like one or two losses, and then another like six-game
win streak, and then like youknow, so kind of hard to judge
(01:26:45):
the Edmonton Oilers until like Iwould say about January.
SPEAKER_01 (01:26:51):
So you want to know
where you stand on your
predictions for the ducks?
Oh crap, I totally forgot aboutthat.
SPEAKER_04 (01:26:58):
Um, where am I at?
So out of I'm guessing I'm likefive, I'm guessing like five and
five.
SPEAKER_01 (01:27:08):
Actually, right on
the money, five and five.
You went you went one and twolast week.
If you would have picked them tobeat the Panthers, you would
have been two and one instead ofone and two.
Okay, and so you're five andfive.
(01:27:31):
I went two and two, which was mybest week.
Okay, so I'm four and eight, you're five and five.
I mean so it's a reverse of lastyear.
I started off pretty good andgot I got I got quite a big lead
on you, and then you cameroaring back, and then I I think
(01:27:51):
I ended up winning by a littlebit last year.
SPEAKER_04 (01:27:56):
I so do you do you
want to know what the standings
look like right now?
So in the central uh Colorado'sone with 18 points, and then
Winnipeg and Utah are in secondand third.
Uh Winnipeg's second, Utah'sthird, with each of them have 16
(01:28:16):
points.
SPEAKER_01 (01:28:17):
Right.
SPEAKER_04 (01:28:18):
And the Pacific, the
Golden Knights are number one
with 15 points, the Kings arenumber two with 14 points, and
the Ducks are number three with13 points.
But here's the thing (01:28:31):
the
Knights have played 11 games
with 15 points, the Kings haveplayed 12 games with 14 points,
and the Ducks have only played10 and have 13 points.
So if the Ducks win, like atleast match up, we could be tied
with Vegas.
SPEAKER_01 (01:28:51):
Yeah.
Uh what did I say at the startof the season?
Look out, look out.
Yeah, I had a gut feeling aboutthat.
I mean, I'm not sure it's gonnabe sustained, and if it is, I
mean, Anaheim Duck fans, you'regonna be very, very happy.
Um, I gotta tell you, I like towatch them, they're fun to
(01:29:13):
watch.
SPEAKER_04 (01:29:13):
They are it's they
are, and I can tell you, and the
one thing I'm finally happyabout is that everyone, like all
the social media and all thelike the like just not like main
team hockey podcasts, but likeall the general hockey podcast
(01:29:34):
people, all of them are nowtalking about how exciting the
the Ducks team is.
And I'm hearing like thespitting chiclets guys, the you
know, the guys on 32 uh Elliotand Kyle are talking about it.
Like it's the other podcast, they're all talking about like
how exciting this team is towatch.
SPEAKER_01 (01:29:52):
Well, thank you,
Kevin.
Yeah, I agree.
I mean, yeah, the one thing I amis I am a huge hockey fan first.
I I was I had um the NHL networkon this morning, and I'm
watching the highlights fromlast night because I don't get
to watch all the games because Ido work nights.
(01:30:16):
Um but like I I said, is it'syou know the Sharks are a fun
team to watch.
SPEAKER_04 (01:30:25):
Yeah, they are.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:27):
Um Chicago played I
was impressed with all these
teams that were bottom feedersnot that long ago.
You see okay, Kevin, yousecretly like the ducks.
SPEAKER_04 (01:30:40):
Out of boy, Kevin,
come to the duck side.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:43):
You know.
Good.
SPEAKER_04 (01:30:50):
You and Darth Vader.
Even though that wasn't Vader, that was more palpatine.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:57):
Whatever.
SPEAKER_04 (01:30:58):
You're definitely a
Sith Lord, that's for sure.
It's funny.
I I love the Sith Lord, but I amdefinitely not a Sith in real
life.
But you gotta admit, as much asI love that like the dark side
in the Star Wars universe, Ijust love how dark side and then
duck side it sounds so close, and I love saying that.
(01:31:22):
Wow.
Join the duck side.
Um but uh so uh by the way, Ifirst of all I want to apologize
to everyone for the wholeSpotify issue.
(01:31:43):
They flagged our intro song forsome reason.
I'm working on it on getting itback.
I've already appealed the thingbecause I already bought proof
of I bought it like a year agoor whatever, about being able to
use the intro song for stuff.
I already bought it, you know,to be able to use it.
(01:32:03):
So Spotify changed theircopyright music laws, and so I'm
having issues with that.
So if people on Spotify, youknow, I'm sorry, you know, I'm
working on it, trust me.
Um, I should hear back by thisnext week on what's going on.
So episode 84 and 85 is not onSpotify right now, but you can
(01:32:25):
go back on like listen to AmazonMusic, iHeart, Overcast, Apple,
watch on YouTube, and you go uhlike go back and watch it on
Twitch, like you know, Kevinhere.
Um, so I just want to giveeveryone a heads up on that.
Yeah, yeah, stupid, it's stupidchanging copyright laws like
(01:32:47):
that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:32:48):
Um, but well, yeah,
they they're just trying to not
get into a lawsuit.
So I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (01:32:56):
Um I don't want to
get in a lawsuit.
No, I I mean I already had proofthat of purchase to use that
song, but it's the intro songthat we have, yeah.
Because we the AI one is the oneI created and I got proof of
that one too.
So perfect.
So yeah.
(01:33:18):
Um yeah, can you believe theDallas Stars are a wildcard team
right now?
And the Kraken are too.
SPEAKER_01 (01:33:27):
Well, yeah, the
Kraken, another surprise.
Look at I that's why the gamesare played because you just
never know what's gonna happen.
I mean, the Kraken, the Krakenwere not projected to be a
playoff team, ducks were notprojected to be a playoff team.
The mammoth, look how wellthey've played.
SPEAKER_04 (01:33:48):
Man, that cooley
paturka gunther line, it's
probably one of the best linesin hockey right now.
That line is fun to watch.
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:00):
Um there's an
ownership group that wants to
win.
SPEAKER_04 (01:34:04):
Yeah, and honestly,
good on Ryan Smith for doing all
that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:08):
And this Sam Well,
the Sam Wellys have almost said
they'd open up the the theirbank account to make the ducks
better, and I think they've doneit.
So, you know, and the Kingslet's stop Nicholin and Dimene
campaign, get him signed.
I mean, come on.
(01:34:29):
I he's uh he's become he's theirbest player right now, yeah.
By I mean, even over Kopi, Kopiprobably takes a back seat to
him, yeah.
But he you know, they they didmiss Kope when he was out,
though.
So I mean, he's definitely stillthe best face-off guy the Kings
(01:34:49):
have.
SPEAKER_04 (01:34:51):
All right, quick
question before we get out of
here.
True.
Um, who's your surprise liketeam that's playing well so far
in all in in the whole league?
And who's your surprise likedisappointment?
So our biggest surprise, biggestdisappointment so far.
(01:35:14):
And why while you're thinking uhKevin said that uh nature steel
looks great comparable, just getit done at uh eight times 11 and
a half for camp uh for campe andstop playing hardball with him.
No, we agree, and like I said, before the season even started,
we should have said that campethey should have signed campe at
that eight times ten, and nowwith all these new deals coming
(01:35:36):
out, looking like he's gonna begetting like eight times twelve
or something like that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:35:41):
Well, you know, it's
funny, you know.
I guess the biggest surprise tome, and and this is no slap at
the ducks, is Detroit's justbeen talented and not not
playing well.
Who they're up there.
(01:36:03):
I mean, because we talked aboutyou know the ducks.
I mean, Chicago would be anotherone to be a bigger surprise to
me than the the ducks would be.
Um and I I think Utah's had thetalent too.
SPEAKER_04 (01:36:19):
Um so okay, so who's
your surprise team?
SPEAKER_01 (01:36:26):
I I would I would
have to say Detroit.
I I didn't think they'd make theplayoffs.
I thought they were gonna makeit last year, and I know they
just missed.
See, I they have they have a lotof talent on that team.
SPEAKER_04 (01:36:38):
See, you're I I
think you're missing an obvious
one.
SPEAKER_01 (01:36:43):
Pittsburgh.
Oh, that's true.
Uh, you're right.
SPEAKER_04 (01:36:47):
I am totally didn't
even because I uh Crosby Malkin.
Yeah, and like I said, and theythey look good too.
It's not like they're just likewinning games because you know
they're just squeaking out wins, they're looking good, but
they're another surprise team inthe opposite way would be
(01:37:13):
Washington looks like a 500 teamright now.
SPEAKER_01 (01:37:17):
Well, I mean, look
at Toronto, their last place in
the east.
That's did you think Marnerwould make that big a
difference?
SPEAKER_04 (01:37:29):
Yeah, I mean, well,
I mean, Florida has all the
injuries, so I'll give them alittle, I'll give them a pass on
that.
I mean, Tampa Bay is not even, Imean, they're tied for the last
wild card in a way, but notreally.
Um, but like on the West, I meanMinnesota and St.
Louis, they've they've lookedbad, and in uh Calgary, um, I
(01:37:53):
should say, uh I I think Wolfcarried that team last year, and
I called that.
Yeah, they're they're notscoring, and I honestly, and I
didn't think that I would seethat the Kings are a minus four
and the ducks are a plus four ingoal differential.
(01:38:16):
Wow, oh like and the DallasStars minus two, Edmonton.
Uh yeah, but even Chicago's aplus four.
Everyone else, there's only inthe west, there's only one, two,
three teams.
Oh, sorry.
Five, six teams that have apositive goal differential.
(01:38:38):
Colorado, Winnipeg, Utah, Vegas,Anaheim, and Chicago.
Everyone else has a minus goaldifferential, and the and that's
just on the west.
In the east, you got one, two, three, four, five, one, one,
two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, eight with a
(01:39:00):
positive, and the tip of A isjust neutral.
Uh, and then Kevin says theKings defense and PK has been
pretty surprising.
Surprisingly good orsurprisingly bad?
Bad.
SPEAKER_01 (01:39:13):
Okay.
And their BK obviously, yeah, this last week was a lot better,
but you know, their biggestproblem is just they're in the
penalty box way too much.
SPEAKER_04 (01:39:26):
I mean, they're all
two and two at home, and you
guys were the best home teamlast year.
Is it time to bring back theharmic queens?
SPEAKER_01 (01:39:41):
Uh yeah, maybe
something they need to kick
start.
You know, it'd be nice today tosee them play because they've
got three really good teams thatare gonna be playing here this
next week.
Because we have to go throughthat yet.
We haven't finished with that.
For which one?
The predictions for next week.
SPEAKER_04 (01:40:01):
Oh, yeah, let's get
to that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:40:03):
So I'll go.
I'll you go.
You want it okay.
Uh I got you know what the Kingsfind a way to lose.
So a lot of their losses, though, are they get a point,
which I don't know.
Somebody said it's it's a tiegame, and the the other team won
(01:40:27):
the bonus point.
So that's how to look at it.
And uh, whoever I can't rememberwho said that, but uh making it
sounds like an American thing.
I think I think it was uh on theum all the kings men with Jesse
Cohen.
Oh I think they uh he's the onethat said it.
I'm pretty sure it was him now.
Well, anyways, I've I've got theKings losing today against uh
(01:40:50):
the Devils.
I think the Devils are verydangerous team.
Jack Hughes seems to come backwith an abandoned man, he's
going crazy, looking very good.
Um, I I got him losing 4-2 ontoday.
Tuesday, they are playingagainst the Jets.
I have them losing 4-2, and thenThursday, they're playing the
(01:41:13):
Panthers, losing 4-3.
SPEAKER_04 (01:41:17):
All right, so
tomorrow the Ducks will play
against the New Jersey Devils athome.
I'm I'm predicting a 3-2 win.
Um, and then on Tuesday, uh theDucks are home against the
Panthers, and we will concludeour uh season series against the
Panthers.
Um, and I have a feeling theDucks will win this one four to
(01:41:40):
three in the last game of theweek.
Uh, will be Thursday.
Um, and this is in Dallas, andI'm predicting a 5-2 loss on
this one.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:52):
So is that just
because it's the stars?
Because actually, the dead Ithink the Devils are a better
team right now than the Starsare.
SPEAKER_04 (01:42:00):
I just think that uh
the Ducks play better against
the Devils than the Stars.
SPEAKER_01 (01:42:08):
Interesting.
SPEAKER_04 (01:42:09):
So I don't know.
I just just my I don't know, gutfeeling kind of thing.
SPEAKER_01 (01:42:15):
Well, you know, it's
to me I'm frustrated.
When I'm frustrated, I go theopposite of what I want, yeah.
And I hope I'm wrong, and I hopeI'm uh 4 and 11 next week.
Just you Kings fans thinking,oh, why is he doing that?
I go kick start him.
SPEAKER_04 (01:42:38):
Yep, and then uh
before we get out of here, I did
put on social media to haveeveryone put out their favorite
you know, Halloween costume thatthey won or favorite Halloween
candy, and we did get uh onereply.
It's hoping to get more, buthopefully, hopefully next year
we'll get more uh Halloweencandy and costumes.
(01:42:58):
But uh the LA Kings channel, soDylan, I don't put dum dums are
an underrated Halloween candy ifgiven out.
SPEAKER_01 (01:43:09):
I don't mind dum
dumbs.
Yeah, the candy I don't mind,the other dum-dums I could deal
with out because I see them onthe road all the time.
Well, that's so you know, so allright, dad.
SPEAKER_04 (01:43:22):
All right, favorite
Halloween candy, and then which
one you just know?
SPEAKER_01 (01:43:33):
Oh, Kevin says
Twizzlers and Dots are the best.
SPEAKER_04 (01:43:37):
No, red vines, red
vines are the best.
SPEAKER_01 (01:43:40):
I'm sorry, Kevin.
I'm a red vines guy myself.
Uh dots are I don't mind doingit.
I'm not talking about the dots, though.
I you know, butterfinger, butterfinger is my favorite
candy.
SPEAKER_04 (01:43:54):
So for me, I don't
know what like and I know this
goes with mom's theory, and Iagree with mom's theory, but um
the holiday Oreos are justbetter.
I I will agree with mom on this.
Like, there is something aboutthe holiday Oreos that make them
(01:44:14):
better, and then the hollow theholiday Reese's too.
Because you I feel like you geta little bit more peanut butter
with like the pumpkin and or theChristmas tree ones.
E2, Cody, E2, E2, yeah, meansyou too.
Yeah, uh, red vines are better,I agree, but twizzlers come in
(01:44:37):
those little Halloween sizepackages.
See, yes, the holiday Reese'sare the best.
Uh I guess I've always been abutterfinger guy.
Um I'm I grew up to and Istarted liking the like the like
the little snack size Snickers,too.
Oh, I love Snickers.
(01:44:58):
Yeah, I was never a big Snickersguy before, but now it's like I
I don't know if I could do likethe full bar.
I just but that little thatlittle snack size is like or fun
size ones are like perfect.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:11):
So so all you fans,
I I got a few things for you to
think about and try.
So one thing I love is you putOreos in the freezer.
SPEAKER_04 (01:45:24):
Hmm.
Okay, that's true.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:27):
I mean, you gotta be
careful when you first crunch it
on them, they're really hard.
You don't want to break a toothor something like that.
Like I had happened a coupleweeks ago, but that was on a
potato chip, and it was an oldcrown, and it anyways.
Um, but I I I turned on two guysat work to the frozen Oreos, and
they go, Oh, that's a keeper.
(01:45:48):
Yeah, you know, alsorefrigerating your Snickers bars
and butterfingers.
Oh my gosh, it takes it toanother level.
Yeah, um, I mean, I think youcould do it with just about any
candy bar.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not I I Iwould not do red vines.
SPEAKER_04 (01:46:08):
Red vines moms are
just saying red vines are
better, and I raised you right, and then uh oops, even uh Kit
Kat or Special Holiday Reese.
See, everyone's on this holidayReese's.
I do like a good Kit Kat too.
Um, and then Kevin, I'll try thefrozen arrows or report back
with my review next week.
(01:46:32):
Kevin, what's another what'sanother Kevin?
It's a winner winner.
I guarantee you.
Oh um, yes, Halloween Sour PatchKids.
I just love sour patch.
That's another good one, mom.
I love sour, I love sour candytoo.
It's either like chocolate orsour for me.
And then uh, and then even Adam, yes, Vicky red vines are
(01:46:55):
amazing.
SPEAKER_01 (01:46:56):
All right, um,
especially when they're fresh,
really fresh.
Oh my god, I can't stop eatingthem when they're fresh.
Now I gotta go get some redvines.
Thank you guys.
Okay, hold on.
SPEAKER_04 (01:47:08):
Favorite MM.
Well, uh is it just regularpeanut peanut MMs, peanut MMs
for me?
It's the the peanut MMs and thenthe pretzel MMs, if you could
find them.
And those in the refrigerator, another winner winner.
See, you know what's I'msurprised which candy you didn't
(01:47:30):
say, and it's one that like youalways get in your stockings and
like for Halloween.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:38):
Uh, I got a silver,
you mean?
Huh?
I get a silver, you get asilver, yeah.
The commercial was Yorkpeppermint patties, right?
Yeah, yes, I love York, andthose are good frozen or in the
refrigerator, too.
SPEAKER_04 (01:47:53):
Yeah, uh, and even
Adam said peanut butter or
crunch and I haven't tried thecrunch ones.
I'll have to try that one.
All right, but I'm gonna try tomake this a reel.
I want everyone right now put inthe comments what's your
favorite Halloween candy.
So I think a lot of people havebeen already doing that.
(01:48:14):
No, I'm I want to hear all ofsocial all our social media
followers to give their opinion.
SPEAKER_01 (01:48:19):
Okay, so challenge.
Tell us your favorite candy.
We will announce the winner nextweek.
Who winner to what?
Which candy is the winner?
Oh, which candy is the winner?
I was like, we're not we'rewinner for there's no prize for
this one, guys.
It's you already got the candy, you got to eat it.
But which candy is is our hockeyfans uh most hockey fans like
(01:48:45):
the best?
Which one's gonna win the prizefor that?
Yeah, put it in therefrigerator, and you'll find
out it's different, likeButterfinger refrigerated or
warm or just right out of thewrapper.
Refrigeratored one wins everytime.
(01:49:06):
Oreos, same thing.
I like the freezer, uh, but Iwill put them in the
refrigerator too.
So see, and this is me.
SPEAKER_04 (01:49:15):
My last one before
we I I close this out.
Uh, if we're while we'respeaking of Oreos, you know how
people like to dump it in milk, you know, for the Oreos?
Nope.
I always do chocolate milk.
I'm a chocolate, I know it's a Iknow it's a problem, but I
always I like to dump my Oreosin chocolate milk.
(01:49:36):
And it hits every time.
Just saying.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:41):
All right, ready to
get out of here?
I oh plain MM slightly melted.
Okay.
SPEAKER_04 (01:49:52):

different.
Yeah.
Or uh MMs with popcorn.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:58):
Oh, yeah.
Mom used to do that when we tookyou when you guys were younger
to uh the movies.
SPEAKER_03 (01:50:06):
Yep.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:06):
That that is killer.
SPEAKER_04 (01:50:09):
So I'm not a
strawberry person, but or a
golden Oreos person, but thatdoes sound actually pretty good.
Not gonna lie.
Golden Oreos and strawberrymilk.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:21):
Okay, he he he won't
