🕊️ Peace in Tribulation: Jesus Has Overcome
📖 John 16:23–33 | ✝️ May 22 & 25, 2025
“In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33
How can we find peace in a world so filled with danger, uncertainty, and suffering? From sleepless nights and new beginnings to deep spiritual struggles and the brokenness of our hearts, tribulation is something we all face. In this week’s sermon, Pastor takes us on a relatable—and emotional—journey: the unforgettable car ride home after welcoming a newborn child. What should’ve been a short, simple drive became a powerful reminder of how overwhelming life in this world can be.
Yet in the midst of danger, Jesus speaks peace.
In John 16, Jesus prepares His disciples for what’s to come—not just His death and resurrection, but the trials they (and we) will endure. Even as He is abandoned and led to the cross, He points us to His victory. Not only over the external dangers of this world—but over the deeper danger: our sinful hearts.
✝️ Key Takeaways:
The world is full of tribulation—but Christ came into this dangerous world to bring peace.
Jesus has overcome sin, death, and the grave—His victory is ours by grace through faith.
True peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Christ.
Even when we feel overwhelmed or unworthy, we rest in the One who has overcome.
