Okay.
Off to a great start.
So welcome back to the studio.
I don't know.

(00:29):
I haven't been here in a while.
Yeah, well, I know.
Hence the welcome back.
Uh uh, it's good to be back.
Yes, it's awesome to be back.
Thank you.
Yes.
Well, you're welcome.
Thank you for what letting youcome back or Yeah.
A little bit of both.
Okay.
Yeah.
Um, yeah, I I for one am gladthat we're not doing uh remote

(00:50):
anymore.
Um I think we we figured out agood solution to make the audio
good, but it honestly was kindof a pain in the ass uh on the
editing side.
Yeah, I want to know.
I know.
I know, yeah.
Uh but anyway, uh yeah, CleanFeed TM sponsors.
Yeah, Clean Feed was great.

(01:11):
Um, I just it was a lot ofwhatever.
Um so I'm glad we're doing thisagain.
Um I just need to Yep, okay, thesoundboard's good.
Yep.
All right, getting back.
Flash, are you back?
Oh jeez.
You might be.
We have the door open.
Uh yeah, back in the swing ofthings.
All right, so yeah, uh we wemissed a couple, I think a

(01:33):
couple releases, likeunfortunately, but uh a lot of
that had to do with you knowyour travel and other things.

SPEAKER_01 (01:41):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (01:42):
So we're back on track, we're getting back on
track here.
Um so last we last we spoke onthe pod, um you were having a
great time up in Washington.
Yeah, Washington, Oregon.
And you were uh fixing to yes,Washington, okay.
You know, yeah, Washington,Oregon, got it.

(02:03):
Yep.
Pacific Northwest.
Yep.
And you were fixing to, uh, youknow, about two weeks from then
when we talked, uh headingstraight back to Texas, right?
Yeah, via North Carolina now.
Yeah, it happened.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we talked about thepossibility of that.
Uh yeah.
So yeah, I guess if you're gonnadrive to Texas going by way of

(02:26):
North Carolina, that's not themost efficient route.

SPEAKER_01 (02:29):
Uh yeah, but there's a couple buckies that we weren't
went to that weren't we'd neverbeen to before.

SPEAKER_02 (02:35):
Well, that's well, i in what states?
Well, yeah, what states?

SPEAKER_01 (02:40):
Uh got one in Mississippi, and then Jesus,
what was the other one in?
Was it Virginia?
I think the other one might havebeen in Virginia or something
like that.

SPEAKER_02 (02:51):
I didn't know they had them that far east.

SPEAKER_01 (02:53):
Uh, yeah, I know that one was in sure.
I don't remember.
It was we had to drive 20 hoursstraight.
We went and got our uh youngestson's dog from North Carolina
because he's stationed in themilitary.
And with everything going on, wewent and picked up his dog
Ranger, and then we had to drive20 hours straight home because

(03:14):
that gave us three dogs, and nohotel will take three dogs,
especially when you got a110-pound brown lap.
So yes, uh Ranger the dog.

SPEAKER_02 (03:26):
The dog.
It's Ranger the dog.
Yeah, uh Ranger the dog.
Unfortunately, we are we alreadyhad a Ranger um here at the
ranch, so yeah.
He's uh and he was here first.
Um at the ranch, at least, because Ranger's like 11.
Ranger the dog's like 11, butRanger the Kitten is not.

SPEAKER_01 (03:42):
No, he's just Ranger's like just here, isn't
he?

SPEAKER_02 (03:47):
Ranger the Kitten.
Ranger the Kitten.
He's actually like 13 months,yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That's why I said, didn't I saythat?
Yeah, whatever.
Yeah, yeah.
Whatever you want.
It's your it's your yeah back toRanger the dog.
So yeah, he's a big old boy.
He's big old dog.
Big old boy.
He's a d-dur dur.
Yeah, I I haven't uh haven'tspent a lot of time with him

(04:07):
since y'all have been back.
Um, because you guys have beenkind of getting situated over
there.

SPEAKER_03 (04:11):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (04:12):
Uh but I spent a couple hours with him, I think.
And yeah, he's a he seems like agood little dopey guy.
Yeah, he is.
He's a great dog.
So let's back up though.
Um 20 hours drive from NorthCarolina to the ranch in Texas,
which was the short leg of thetrip, right?
I mean, let's back up.

(04:32):
We talked about that you were inWashington in Oregon.

SPEAKER_03 (04:35):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (04:35):
Uh so you I mean you guys uh this is a big deal.
I don't I want people tounderstand.
You you guys kind of had to dropyour plans the last week and a
half of your visit up there anddrive from Salem, Portland,
basically, all the way to prettymuch the east coast.
Yes, yes, we did.

(04:56):
And the and then not 20 hoursback to the ranch.
Uh and how long it was likewell, you guys it was a four or
five-day drive out there?

SPEAKER_01 (05:06):
Yeah, we uh yeah, we uh pretty much three days to
Kansas City, Missouri, and thenour youngest one called us
Nestis if we could kind of holdup.
They had some stuff going on,and can't really talk about
that.
So we hung out in Kansas City,Missouri for three days.
It was really cool.

(05:26):
We actually went to the onlyWorld War I museum in the United
States and uh toured that, had agreat time doing that, and then
after our three days, we uh tooktwo more days to get uh North
Carolina, stayed three days withour youngest one, uh, had a
great time with him.
It was it was awesome.
He's got uh he's got anapartment there.

(05:48):
We stayed there and then uhflipped a bitch, as I call it,
and drove 20 hours back here toTexas.

SPEAKER_02 (05:57):
Yeah, and uh the the 20 the 20 hour straight shot
wasn't well so of course youguys had you had Ellie and you
had Maggie with you on the wayto North Carolina, um, and then
the two of them plus Ranger backto Texas, but you uh you did the
smart thing this time anddecided you know what, take take

(06:20):
my time, take my time.
We're gonna stop in hotels andstuff, and uh that was the plan
too, leaving North Carolina,right?
Yeah, that was the plan of stufffor the giant dog.

SPEAKER_01 (06:34):
Yeah, he kind of threw a that kind of threw a
wrench in it.
Yeah, yeah.
But that's that's all good.
The you know the things you dofor your for your kids and your
granddogs.
Sure, yeah, I get it.

SPEAKER_02 (06:45):
It was good.
Good.
Uh yeah, I think I want to sayyou guys rolled in about 6 30 in
the morning.

SPEAKER_01 (06:52):
Yeah, yeah, we left there at oh shit, it must have
been 10 30 in the morning thatwe left there and just kind of
rolled through.
It's like a 15-hour drive, butonce you stop at Bucky's and
fill up a one-ton Ford a coupleeight times.
Yeah, a couple eight times.

SPEAKER_02 (07:12):
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Four was it, four thousand milesyou said?

SPEAKER_01 (07:16):
Uh four thousand miles from the time we left
Salem, Oregon till we got here.
That's what I meant.

SPEAKER_02 (07:21):
Yeah.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (07:22):
Um, good.

SPEAKER_02 (07:23):
Well, that's behind you.
Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (07:27):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (07:28):
And uh we were talking about too um before we
came in here that well, when youdrove up uh to the northwest,
whether it be Washington orOregon, we may never know.
Um you uh because Christina hadalready flown up there, flowed,
flooded, flun.
I don't know.
She already flew up thereearlier, so you had driven by

(07:49):
yourself uh with Maggie andEllie.
Yeah.
So that was that was a long, like that was a long haul just
doing that.
Um but uh you did say it was uhmuch more it wasn't enjoyable,
right?
The you and Christina togethermaking that drive all the way to
North Carolina and then back toTexas.
Oh, it was so much moreenjoyable.

SPEAKER_01 (08:08):
Yeah, and I've realized I am too damn old to
straight shot anymore.
Yeah, there is hotels involvednow.
Yeah, I hear you.

SPEAKER_02 (08:18):
Uh it's just it's not worth it at some point.
No, yeah.
Well, um, I'm glad to have youback.
Uh glad to be back.
Yeah, it's good to see uh andwell, hadn't seen you in a
month, hadn't seen Christina inlike two months, I think.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you got back and immediatelyI was like, why don't you mow

(08:39):
your fucking lawn?
It's out of control over here.
Oh god, it was just terrible.
Yeah.
And when I say lawn, it's liketwo and a half acres of just
grass.
Yeah, tall grass.
Yeah, it was it's out of well,it's still out of control
because you you started on it,but yeah, and then you're you
have a little like uh Romatathing, what do you call it?

SPEAKER_01 (09:04):
Popper supposed all the no, the thing that fell
over.
Oh yeah, it's it's like a carcover.
Yeah, yeah, like a 12 by 24 carcover that blew over.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (09:16):
Uh right.
Uh which it's been down for awhile.
Um, we've had some sort of rowdystorms.
Well, did it have while you guyswere gone, and uh yeah, I called
you up one day and I'm like, yeah, your your thing fell down.
Um, so I'm not picking that up.
Nope.
Nope.
Yeah.
Uh otherwise everything wasgood.
Uh we had one night shortlybefore you guys got back where

(09:37):
it was really rowdy in terms oflike rain coming down, just
fucking buckets.
And uh I thought, well, I'll bea good friend and go check out
your place for you from thecomfort of my truck.
And so I flew the drone over.
Did a little aerial survey.

SPEAKER_01 (09:56):
Yeah, everything's good though.
Yeah, it was good.
I mean, I I appreciate the thedrone flyover and and the video.
I mean it hey, my my covers formy my uh god, what are those
called?
They're they're kind of like thethe vents.
The vents, yeah.
Yeah on the little trailer theythey held, which is actually a

(10:17):
tote on one, and then the coverfor the tote on the other that I
have big flat rocks on.
Big flat rocks, well put.
Um stolen, stolen big flatrocks, borrowed on a long-term
basis, is what my father taughtme when he worked construction.

SPEAKER_02 (10:31):
Stolen like a dirty thief.
Yeah, and you laughed at me whenI've got all those big flat
rocks.
And uh so far, um we've put in auh traversable rock road.
Yes, some short one.
Uh uh saved your trailer fromthe rain.

(10:52):
Yes.
Um, and on a sadder note, usethem for some nice little
headstones for uh uh littleCharlie, sweet dolly.
Yep.
So don't ever laugh at my bigflat plans again.
True, yeah.
True.
Uh so uh speaking of flyovers,um you know we flew to the moon.

(11:19):
Like you were gone.
Did you catch that?
Oh, we flew around the moon.
Not me.
Like we, us.
Yeah.
I said to the moon.

SPEAKER_01 (11:26):
Yeah, we flew around it.
Don't you have to go to itbefore you can go around it?
Well, when you say fly to, thatmeans you went there.
You went around it.
Again.
No.

SPEAKER_02 (11:39):
You can answer my question.
Don't you have to fly to itbefore you can go fly around it?
Yes.
There you go.
Um, yeah.
So and it's so it's so weirdbecause like you know, I feel
like there wasn't, at leastleading up to it, there just
wasn't a lot of coverage andwhatever.
Like, you almost didn't evenknow what was happening.

(12:01):
Um now granted, well, you know, after it launched and flew
around the moon and shit, youknow, after going there, uh it
got more coverage.
And it was really cool though.
Like I, you know, kind of gotthe the tingles or whatever that
old folks back in the 60sprobably got when they saw this

(12:22):
shit with the Apollo program.

SPEAKER_01 (12:23):
Yeah, but that was fake.

SPEAKER_02 (12:31):
Uh-huh.
I'm checking the classifieds.

SPEAKER_01 (12:36):
Podcast.
Uh yeah, I know that you knowwell, you know, they always said
that the moon was made ofcheese, and then we got there
and figured out it wasn't, andthen we haven't been back until
now.
Right.
Yeah.
Oh, well, we didn't go back, wef we went around it.

SPEAKER_02 (12:51):
Oh, well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just to be clear.
Um and you're probably one ofthose people who's like was
asking like when it launched andstuff and was flying out there.
Like, why can't they just flystraight to it?
Were you one of those people?
No, I wasn't.
Okay, good.

SPEAKER_01 (13:10):
No.
That's kind of mean, huh?
No, uh-uh.
I I realized that you gotta goaround stuff to get the you
don't go.
Well, you gotta you gotta beable to get the the momentum to
get to there and around there.

SPEAKER_02 (13:21):
Uh well, kind of.
Um the other thing is you can'tlike just you know, point at the
moon and go that direction.
You have to fly to where themoon's going to be when you get
there.
Look, I'm not a rocketscientist.
Uh that's where you jump in andsay, but yeah, you are.

(13:42):
Yeah, I was gonna say, yeah, yes, you are.
Okay, thank you.
Jesus Christ.
It doesn't work as well when Ihave to do it myself.
Um Okay.
Yeah.
Uh just that little that littleuh frame thing right to the
right of your little area overthere.
That that institution, theuniversity there.
They they have certified thatI'm a rocket scientist.

(14:02):
However, that being said, um Ireally don't know how space
works.
No.
Oh no, the thing is that youhave to like fly like because
the earth is moving and the moonis moving, right.
All at the same time.
It's you have to fly to wherethe moon's gonna be, you know.

SPEAKER_01 (14:20):
Okay, never mind.
No, it's it's like when you flyto Mars, you have to you have to
fly to where it's gonna be.
That's why.
Yeah.
No, I I know exactly what you'retalking about because I watch
YouTube.
Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02 (14:36):
I win.
You just like, all right.
That was the wor Okay.
Um damn it.
I win.
Yeah, no, you don't.
Um, but so glad to have youback.

SPEAKER_01 (14:49):
Uh it's wonderful to be back.
It is so fun to be looking atthese monitors again instead of
you.
Oh, thank you.
Yes.
Yes, thank you.

SPEAKER_02 (14:59):
Oh, the back of the monitors.
The back of the monitors.
Yep.
I mean, you have your ownmonitors over there, but you
don't you don't care to use thecomputer.
You like to use your phone.
Because it's locked.
Okay.
I mean, that's a fair point.
I haven't I guess I kind offorgot about that.

SPEAKER_01 (15:16):
Uh yeah, it is locked.
Um my phone's out on the out onthe porch with my smokes.
All I got to play with is thecolorful lights on my
microphone.
Oh, wait, you forgot your phone?

SPEAKER_02 (15:26):
Yeah.
Oh boy.
Well, just uh I'm gonna I I gotyou, bud.
So if at any point you need meto look up a word for you, just
let me know.
Yeah, not a problem.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Um, great.
So oh god.
Fuck.
Uh all well, it's great to seeuh all the dogs when you got

(15:50):
back.
Um I was really excited to seeEllie and Maggie.
Maggie looks like she's feelinga lot better than she was, you
know, like I don't know, a monthago.
Yeah, yeah, she's she's doing somuch better.
It's it's so funny with her.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Um, but yeah, and you you got tosee all your friends.
Um, yes.
Can I can I and little well uhBuckley?

(16:12):
Thank you.
His little buddy.
Yeah, well, yeah, Buckley, little puppers, uh, who thinks
Canai's a daddy.

SPEAKER_01 (16:20):
Yes, he follows him.
It is so great every morningwhen he gets up, go out and sit
in my chair outside, and herecomes Kanai out from underneath
the fifth wheel, and here comesthe pup.
Won't let you touch him, butthere's the pup.

SPEAKER_02 (16:32):
Yep, yep.
Just like uh not even reallylike Canai will you know run or
trot.
A puppy he's sort of he hebounds.
Yes.
He's saying, wait up, dad, waitup, but the grass at your place
is so tall.
Like sometimes he's runningthrough the grass and you just
see him like top of his head ashe's bouncing.

unknown (16:52):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (16:53):
Sometimes you don't even see him.
It's like Ellie goes out thereand all you can see is just the
the her tail because it curls.
All you can see is the whitefrom her tail.
Yeah, you see you see Canaibounce, and then all of a sudden
you see the grass moving, andthere's Buckley.

SPEAKER_02 (17:09):
Yeah, yeah, that's one thing I've learned.
I don't I don't really worry toomuch about where old Buckley is
because pretty sure he's alwaysbehind Kanai.

SPEAKER_01 (17:19):
Yeah, I and I can't believe how freaking tall
Hartley's gotten.
Oh god, he's huge.
Oh my god, he stands taller thanthe grass at my place.
Yeah.
Holy shit.
Yeah, and long.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (17:31):
Like standing uh standing like next to like say
Bailey.
Um God, he's pro I mean, he'sprobably a foot longer than her.
About, yeah.
He's quite a bit taller.
I don't think well, you tell me,I I think he's about the same
height as Canai.
Um, or do you think he's taller?

(17:51):
Uh you know, I honest I thinkhe's at at least as tall, but
yeah, I think he's yeah.
I would say about the same, buthe's definitely uh longer.
Yes.
And I think Canai probably stillweighs more than Hartley.
I would think so.
Yeah.
Like he is the I I I say he'sthe only dog or uh seen that has

(18:16):
butt cheeks.
Like, you know, his thighs arejust he's like he's not fat,
he's chon, he's all muscle, andhe's just like thick.
He's a husky.
Um and Hartley's a lot leaner.
Yes.
So I think Hartley, it may beclose.
I think Kenneth probably weighsa little more still, but
Hartley's definitely bigger thanKennai.
Yes, definitely.

(18:37):
Yeah, he's a big boy.
Oh my god.
And do you see do you catch thefucking clod stompers on Junior
or Buckley, his front paws?
Yeah, he's holy crap.
Wait till that little shitreally starts growing.
Holy crap.
Yeah.
And the difference, the crudebetween his front paws and his
back paws, his front paws arelike three times as big a round.

(18:58):
I haven't even noticed that.
I'm like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_01 (19:03):
So uh when are we gonna start waging bets on what
the next dog's gonna look like?
Fuck you.

SPEAKER_02 (19:09):
Go back to Oregon or andor Washington.
Andor Washington.
Oh god, yeah, it's the next dog.
Ugh.

SPEAKER_03 (19:17):
Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (19:18):
And well, the last two have just shown up, which
yeah, like you know, whenHartley did it, it was like,
wow, you know, this you know, been here four years or
whatever, and like a dog hasnever like just shown up here.
Uh well, I guess that's thething now.
Yeah.
Here I am.
Here I am.
Oh, yeah, yeah.

(19:38):
Well, how about this?
Um, speaking of them being here,I uh I because I mean it's a lot
of food now, like Buckley's andBuckley's still scrawny as shit.
Yeah.
He eats a lot more than youwould think he does for skinny
as is, but um, I the other day II was like filling all the cups,

(20:00):
you know, to go feed everybody, and I'm like, I just wonder
because I'm feels like I'mblowing through these fucking
bags pretty quick.
And so I got my uh little foodscale, whatever, and you know, I
weighed like a one of cups offood, and then I did the math.
Do you want to guess like howmany pounds of food, dog food?
Forget the cats for now.

(20:21):
How many pounds of dog food I'mgoing through a day?
What's your guess?
Uh probably about eight pounds.
Fuck you, that's exactly right.
No shit.
How'd you know?
Fuck, I don't know.
God damn it.
You you really you really fuckup the reveal.
I mean it's actually yeah, 8.25roughly.
But fucking, yeah, eight poundsa day.

(20:43):
Holy crap.
Which I don't know, I don't domath, but on a monthly basis,
that's a lot.
Um but you 240 some pounds aday.
Did you do that in your head?
Yes.
All right.
On a 30-day average.
Okay, whatever.
I don't believe you.
No, it's about 240.

(21:03):
I didn't do the 2.5.
No, no, it's 240 pounds a month,roughly.
Okay, okay.
Yeah, I don't what'd you say?

SPEAKER_01 (21:11):
I'm not saying.

SPEAKER_02 (21:12):
Okay.
Um, but yeah, so 240 pounds, andthe biggest bags, the biggest
bags they have, because it'stractor supply food, right?
Are 45 pounds, right?
Yeah.
So it's uh let's call it fiveand a half.
Five and a half.
Basically, it's a it's a bag anda quarter of the biggest bags
they have every week.

(21:33):
Oh, jeez.

SPEAKER_01 (21:35):
Oh well, you know how come Buckley eats so much?
Or how come he's always thin?
It's cause his legs are solittle and he has to keep up
with can I'm telling you, like Ilittle bastards going, slow
down, bitch, slow down.

SPEAKER_02 (21:49):
He is like I sometimes sometimes I feel bad
for him.
Like, but then also I'm like, you make your choices.
But well, today it was grosshot.
Like humid, like stifling.
And I was in the I was in thekitchen.
My kitchen, like the windowthere, it it looks out over uh

(22:12):
the back part of part of myproperty where the ponds are.
There's like this, which if yougo further, that then you get to
your property.
Yep.
And then there's this slope upfrom the ponds, up to the house.
And like I saw can I kind oftrotting up the thing.
And I didn't see Junior.
I'm like, uh, he's he'll bealong.
And then he kind of comes aroundout from around the the trees,

(22:33):
and he's like just like tryingbounding up the hill.
I'm just like, you poor littleguy.
Because he's probably gotta makefour strides for every one can
eye stride.
Yeah.
And he's you know, and he'stiny.
I mean, he doesn't have muchreserve.
But yeah, I'm like, dude.

(22:54):
I think the one saving grace, hopefully, um, as it gets
warmer, is that since Canai's ahusky, he he gets hot really
easily.
Um, and so he's he'll tend moreas it stays as it gets warmer,
he'll tend more to just like youknow, crash under the deck and
hang out instead of exploringand stuff unless until it gets

(23:15):
cooler at night.
But yeah, uh otherwise he'sgonna kill that poor little dog.

SPEAKER_01 (23:21):
I don't know.
Uh so the other day Christineand I were sitting out there,
here comes Canai and Lucky,Hartley and Buckley, and all
three of them had been or allfour of them had been swimming
in the pond.
Oh god.
They were all four soaking wet.
Wait, you only mentioned threedogs.
No, can I?
Yes, Hartley, yes, Lucky, that'sthree, and Buckley.

(23:44):
Buckley had went to swimming.
Can I?
Can I?
Hartley.

SPEAKER_02 (23:50):
Lucky.
Oh, lucky.
And Buckley.
See, I didn't I didn't catchthat because the fuck did you
not get that?
I'll tell you exactly why, because uh I just I omitted it
because no no no, there's areason because Lucky doesn't
swim in the pond.
Like he he'll wade in to getwater and stuff, yeah.
But anyway, yeah, so which isgreat, right?

(24:12):
I'm like, thank thank you, youknow, because you won't use the
fucking dog Hilton that I spenta lot of time, money, whatever,
air conditioning.
And it's like, so don't youknow, don't I always get so
irritated with them.
I'm like, sit here on the deck.
Oh god, we're dying, it's sohot.
It's 68 fucking degrees in yourhouse, go in your house.

(24:35):
Or you got a pond, go swimming.
So I'm glad they're using well.
I'm glad he's teaching Junior tolike to use the pond and stuff.
Yeah.
I wonder if I wonder if he wasactually swimming in there.

SPEAKER_01 (24:46):
That would be so cute.
Yeah, it would have been, yeah.
Maybe uh camera should be set upto out towards the pond to see.
Okay.
Uh all right.

SPEAKER_02 (24:55):
Okay.
You got an extra camera or Imight have.
You mean toward the pond?
Well, at the pond.
Wait.
Oh.
Yeah, okay, whatever.
I think I have an extra one.
There's no power down therethough.
Um You could set it on on theback of the deck there and point
it down towards the pond.

(25:16):
Well, I do have one on the backof the deck, but it's I mean
it's far.

unknown (25:21):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (25:21):
That's what, like 300 feet probably to the pond?
Sure.
Okay.
So 100 yards.
Whatever.
That's the same thing.
You're not gonna trick me on.
Let me tell you about a shittysituation with Harley though.
Okay.
The other day, um, because youknow he's uh he's I guess

(25:44):
arguably the biggest the biggestdog here at well, Ranger the dog
is probably yeah, I don't know.
Yeah.
But anyway, Harley's big.
But he fancies himself uh moreof an inside dog.
Um like we talked about before.
And honestly, like I'm okay withit for the most part, because
he's really good in the house.
He he's always clean.

(26:04):
He you know, he's not outdigging up armadillos and shit
like Cali or hunting squirrelsand shit like Canai or whatever.
I'm like, so I'm I'm mostly finewith it.
So he likes to be outside mostof the day and play with the
other dogs and do shit.
And then he'll come in and youknow, he'll sleep in his crate
overnight.
Uh, you know, all of this, I'mjust sort of for the listeners,

(26:26):
you know.
Yep, yep.
Um and so and he's also he'sreally good about, you know,
like if I want to sleep in everynow and then, parentheses every
day.
Um just being patient, you know, like with the potty, and he'll
whine, so I'm like, Yeah, Igotta go.
And I'm like, shut up, daddy, sleeping.

(26:46):
Okay, I'll just leave here.
He's always been really goodabout that.
And the other day, dude, I likeI'd slept in and I hear him, and
he's kind of like whining, butlike a different kind of whine.
Usually if he wants something, like if he wants out to go

(27:06):
potty, he'd be like, like ababy.
This is more like something waswrong.
So I get up and I go in theliving room, and immediately I
can tell he's shitting in hiscrate.

SPEAKER_01 (27:21):
Oh crap.

SPEAKER_02 (27:23):
Which, you know, dog something's gotta be really
wrong for a dog to do that.
Yep.
And I'm like, oh my god, whatare you doing?
And I go over there, dude.
Here's what happened.
He he ate something, gotsomething, I don't know, but he
had the run.
He had diarrhea, like fierce.
So I get over there and he'shunched over and it's coming

(27:48):
out, and I when I get over thecrate before I even open, I can
tell that it's like all over theblankets that are in there.
Like all over the thing, and asI'm on this is the worst fucking
part.
As I'm unlatching the gate orthe door to let him out, I
notice that, well, this this wasapparently some projectile shit.

(28:12):
I'm not fucking shitting, dude.
Outside of the crate uh thishuge puddle of shit, diarrhea
shit, that was like uh a footand a half outside the crate.

(28:32):
Oh damn, and just uh, you know, six inches is huge fucking.
I'm like, oh my god.
And I'm just like, oh took himoutside, took Al Klee and Finley
outside.
I'm like, oh my god, oh this isone of those I hate every choice
I've made in my life that's ledup to this, right?
Moments, I'm like, oh it was sofucking disgusting.

(28:55):
And then the smell hits, right?
Because you hear the whining, you get oh, oh, what's going on?
And you just get them outside, and then the smell hits, like,
oh god.
Oh damn, and so I'm like, fuck.
I didn't even try to save thoseblankets, but no, got a husky
bag, went in there with mygloves, put it in there, tied it

(29:16):
off, took it outside, took thecrate, didn't even try to clean
it up in there.
I took it outside, fucking powerwashed some bitch right out
back.
And then I had to deal with thereal problem.
The carpet?
Yes, oh damn, oh god, it wasawful.
And so, like, and I don't wantto be gross here, I really don't

(29:38):
like talking about shit, but Imean I had nitrile gloves on,
and you know, like if there's alittle poop on the carpet, you
get a paper towel and kind ofgrab it, whatever.
Yep.
I had gloves on.
I was scooping handfuls of thisstuff up into the carpet.
That was there's so much.
Oh, and then I'm like, okay, Igot that.
Uh and then it's like an hour, two hours of like real intense

(30:01):
spot cleaning the carpet, youknow.
Like crying a little bit.
I'm just like, God, this is sofucking gross, so fucking
horrible.
And uh then, you know, then I goback outside.
He's like, Oh, hungry.
Can I breakfast?
I'm like, you gotta fuckyourself.
So I'm just like, oh, nice wayto wake up, huh?

SPEAKER_01 (30:25):
Uh I'm just thinking, good thing your robot
carpet cleaner didn't go out.

SPEAKER_02 (30:30):
Well, that's I've seen when that happened.
I've seen that book too.
Well, I guess I'm gonna I'mgonna uh credit Rob for that one
because I don't want tonecessarily point fingers or
anything, but I'll say this.
You I well you remember when Igot that.
Well now it's whatever.

(30:50):
I got it, it worked great.
Like vacuumed the whole house.
Um and uh ever since the firsttime he came here with his kids,
uh it uh hasn't really worked.
Couldn't couldn't keep up withall that.

SPEAKER_01 (31:04):
Did it try sucking up water in the bathroom?

SPEAKER_02 (31:06):
No, it like oh Robbie, oh Robbie.
Uh the no, this was the uh whenthey came last March when I went
to Denver.
Oh, okay, yeah.
Yeah, it just like and there Idon't as far as I know, there
was no flood in the bathroomthat trip.
Um but yeah, it just likebecause you know, kids, you

(31:31):
know, popcorn kernelseverywhere, this, that, the
other, blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_03 (31:34):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (31:35):
And uh I get back, and I was telling Rob before I
left, I'm like, he's like,what's this?
I'm like, oh, it's the robotvacuum does a great job.
He kind of looks around.
He's like, Yeah, I mean, did youvacuum before?
I'm like, nope, I didn't.
The robot robot does all this.
He's like, Oh, that's cool.
He gets back, he's like, Thatthing's a fucking piece of shit.
He said he kept getting stuck, kept getting clogged, blah,
blah, blah.
I'm like, and I didn't even, Ididn't realize it till after he

(31:57):
left, and I could never get itworking right again.
I'm like, it wasn't the robot,it was your children.

SPEAKER_01 (32:02):
How come I'm picturing Kai sitting on top of
it with the cowboy rowing shitin front of me?
Suck that up, bitch.

SPEAKER_02 (32:14):
Exactly.
That'd be so so fun.
I I mean, yeah, something likethat.
I remember.
Yeah.
Oh god.
Yeah, so I get back to thepoint.
Um so so since not that not thatRob or anybody in his family
broke my robot vacuum, but sincemy robot vacuum hasn't worked

(32:36):
since he was here with his kids, luckily it did not drive through
the giant pile of Harley shit.
There you go.
Yes.
So thanks Rob.
Yeah, thanks, Rob.
Yeah, so fucking Rob.
Fucking Rob.
Yeah, so uh and I'm like nowback to the diarrhea.
So one thing's about Harley, um,cause you uh well no, you guys

(33:03):
were well the first like coupleweeks I had him, like when he
first showed up, and it was alittle puppy, of course, um, he
had the runs like real bad.
And like I was getting worried.
I'm like, is this ever gonnafucking stop?
Um and eventually it did, butthe number of the number of
times I was out with that littlepuppy in a flashlight, uh

(33:26):
pointed at his butthole atnight, being like, is your poop
good yet?
Is your poop good?
But and so he did have the runsfor quite a while when he was
little.
Um, but this obviously was awhole other thing, because he
could not keep it in, and ohgod.
So that of course I'm worried.
I'm like, well, shit.

(33:47):
And so he stayed outside for twonights.
Oh shit.
So I'm like, uh, dad's nottaking that crate back in until
he power washes it again andlets it sit in the fucking sun
and whatever.
And I'm like, maybe this is justwhere yeah, maybe he's just
outside now, right?
Like this is the transition.

(34:08):
Uh and then I think it was todayor yesterday, like it's it's
really hot out here, dad.
Can I go in and play with myanalog toy?
I'm like, yeah, you can't.
Well, I did make sure his hisshit was you know that solid.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm now realizing I've spent anot insignificant portion of my

(34:31):
life analyzing this dog's shit.
What was that sound?
Uh that you no, I would saythat's a cat.
What was it?
That's like something slammingat the door?
I would say yes.
Okay.
Damn it.
Hold on.
Okay.

(34:51):
Probably.
I can't see anything, so I don'tknow.
Uh yes.
Well, if they're not in here, they're gonna make sure that you
know they're not in here.
Yep, that's for sure.
Yeah, so that was my Hartleyshit story.
That's a shit.
Yeah.
Um god, same day.

(35:12):
All right.
And there are days where I'mjust like, and again, I
shouldn't say certain things.
Um uh as a guy who runs a dogrescue and decided to run a dog
rescue, but I'm just gonna sayit.
Some dogs I some days I fuckinghate dogs, Mark.
I just fucking can't stand them.

SPEAKER_01 (35:27):
I get that.

SPEAKER_02 (35:28):
So on the same the same day.
Now, for the listeners out, uhfor the big dogs outside, I have
uh I have bowls set up andthey're on posts out on the side
of the house.
It's like a carport type thing.
And so the it's a metal bowlthat's up off the ground about a

(35:48):
foot.
Um, and there's like five ofthem.
So I go out there and feed allthe big dogs, put the food in,
boop, boo boo.
The other day.
Lucky.
Special little lucky.
He you know the little littletag, because they all have the
red tags on their collars, andit's got like a that's like a
keychain ring rank that holds iton.
Yep.

(36:09):
Alright.
So he he must have got his tagssnared in something, because I
found his tag on the deck theday before.
I'm like, oh, whose tag is this?
And I just said it on the rail.
I'm like, I don't know, I don'tcare to find out.
But what had happened is thatkey ring thing had gotten like
unfurled kinda, so it was kindof like all pokey and shit.

(36:30):
So here's what happened.
Here's let me let me bring it upto speed on another aspect of my
life here last few days.
Lucky when he was eating thelittle ring thingy caught on his
bowl, and so he thought it wasstuck to him, like some sort of
dog killing alien or something, and he got all fucking freaked

(36:53):
out, and the bowl went flying.
So it's like four days ago,Mark.
Don't eat out of the bowl.
He's scared of the fucking foodbowl, Mark.
I'm just like, I go out there,uh, so I'm out there, and I the
only way he'll eat is if I'llput I grab handfuls of it and

(37:16):
hold it for him.
Or take handfuls and yeah, ohsorry, yeah.
It's you know, it is one ofthose things where I feel bad
for him, but I'm like, comefucking on, dude.
I mean, come on.
Dad, the big bull babies.
Uh-huh.
And so and feeding has alreadybeen a thing since uh Buckley

(37:41):
came around because um I usuallyI I go out, well, you know,
you've been here and you fedthem and stuff.
Yeah.
Go out, put the food down, everything's fine.
Um, now I have to be out therewith them because you know, the
big dogs, and they're they'vekind of stopped doing it, but
they have been like, oh, I'mdone with mine, I'll go steal

(38:02):
the puppy's food.
Yep.
So I have to stay out thereanyway.
And so now I'm out there like, okay, Buckley, okay, you're uh
you're lucky, here's a handfulof food.
And then then I can kind of I'llkind of guide my hand down to
the bowl and it'll start eatingout of it.
I'm like, okay, great.
And I'll walk away and you justturn around and you're just
looking at me.

(38:22):
He's like standing three feetaway from the bowl, just looking
at me like so.
This is my life.

SPEAKER_01 (38:30):
Uh maybe he needs a plastic bowl, so it's something
different.

SPEAKER_02 (38:33):
I yeah, well, I hadn't thought about that.
I thought about changingactually, I had thought about
that, I just hadn't done it.
Um, I did you get one of thoselike ceramic bowls that the
little dogs have.

SPEAKER_01 (38:46):
Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02 (38:47):
Um, which you like as soon as I put it, well, I
brought it out and he saw it,I'm like, he's like, oh, new
bowl.
Like this won't like be clingyand clinkity.
I can eat out of this.
And so I set it down and then II I guess I guess just slightly
a little bit too much because itmade a little tiny when it hit
the concrete, he's like, ooh.
My god dang it.

(39:11):
For those of you new to Lucky,we're talking about a 60-pound
pit bull lab mix who isofficially scared of a bull.
And in so being scared, ruiningmy life.

SPEAKER_01 (39:33):
He's had a hard life.
You gotta give him a little bitof you know what?

SPEAKER_02 (39:36):
Okay, I'm yeah, right?
So that's part of my thing.
I'm like, dude.
This you got hit by a truck, andthen another truck.
Yeah.
You got abandoned by your bitchmother, you were almost killed,
euthanized before, you know, youwere rescued and sanit.

(39:56):
You lost your fucking tail, youbroke two shoulders, spines
fractured, all this stuff whenyou got hit by the first truck.
And so I think I feel like heshould be a little more
resilient.
Nah.
You know, I'll say this.
If he would have been as scaredof trucks after getting hit by
the first truck, he would havenever got hit by the second
truck if he would have treatedit like his fear of the bull.

(40:19):
Yeah.
So where was that luck?

SPEAKER_01 (40:22):
It's like tonight when I came in.
He's like, Oh, somebody's comingdown the road.
Let's go run.
It's like, oh shit, he's justgonna open the gate.

SPEAKER_02 (40:31):
Yeah.
It's been uh real blast.
Oh god.
Just it's so annoying.
I'm like, God dang it.
Oh, the fun of the fun of livingon the ranch with Lucky.
I am gonna I'm gonna do theplastic bowl thing.
I'm gonna make a note actually.
Because I'll try that tomorrow.
I'll set one out tonight so Idon't forget.

(40:53):
Yeah.
Hopefully that'll solve theproblem.
That might solve the problem.
Well, I have another problem wecan solve right now.
What's that?
This show, because it's over.
Already?
Already.
Damn.
I know.
It seems to go so much quickerwhen I'm here in the studio with
you.
Uh yeah, it does.
It does for sure.
Um, so uh it's unfortunate thatyou're back.

(41:13):
Um, but no, in all seriousness,I'm glad you're back.
Welcome back.
I'm glad to be back, thank you.
Yep.
And uh, you know, to ourlisteners, um sorry we missed a
couple, but we're back on track.
Oh barring a diarrhea explosionor a dog destroying fucking food
bowl uh derails my schedule,whatever.

(41:33):
But we're back.
Uh yes, we are, and we all weappreciate y'all listening.
So we definitely do.
I yeah, I mean, you kindaundercut me when I mean you have
to have the last word while youdo, because that's the thing
when we sign off.
Uh we should switch that.
Why?
So I get the last word oneverybody.
Okay, go ahead.
I'm done.
I don't want to fucking do it.

(41:54):
No, I'm done.
You're not done.
You have to do your thing.
You know, whatever.
Catch y'all later.
Have a good one.
See, like I just said.
No, like that can't be the wegotta do it again.
Sorry, I fucked it up.
Catch y'all later.
Have a good one.

(42:40):

We'll see how it goes.
Let us know how we're going.

SPEAKER_00 (44:00):
We just made.
Yeah, we said and centered, butthe world's off track.
If it's broke, it's us.
But you can count on that.
Break time, yell it all unwind.
Thousand dogs judging with thatthousand-yard mind.
Project list is long, but we'llget there soon.

(44:23):
That's a lie, but it's a goodtone.
We said it's in a kind of sorta, maybe.
