Ever tried to keep a podcast alive from the cab of a truck at 4 a.m.? We did—one of us in the ranch studio, the other barreling north toward the Pacific Northwest with two sleepy dogs and a stubborn laptop finally tamed by a password named after a beloved pup. Tech mishaps, family milestones, weather worries, and dog snacks collide as we name a new format and keep our promise to ship.

SPEAKER_01 (00:08):
Hey everyone, welcome back to Set and
Centered.
I'm RJ.

SPEAKER_03 (00:11):
This is Mark.

SPEAKER_01 (00:14):
Is it sound a little distant there, bud?

SPEAKER_03 (00:17):
Uh, probably about 700 miles worth of distance from
me, bud.

SPEAKER_01 (00:21):
Why is that?

SPEAKER_03 (00:23):
I headed back up to uh uh the Pacific Northwest.

SPEAKER_01 (00:28):
Yes, so you are in the middle of well working your
way across Texas, which takestime.

SPEAKER_03 (00:36):
Uh actually finally made it through Texas, now in
New Mexico.

SPEAKER_04 (00:39):
Oh, you did?

SPEAKER_03 (00:40):
Yeah, yeah.
I got I got 69 miles till I getto uh 25 north and then go up
through Denver and stuff.

SPEAKER_01 (00:50):
Right.
Uh at Ratone, like I told you.
Uh yeah.
Raton.
Yeah, I know.
I well I know.
Um so this is this is againanother kind of departure from
our normal thing.
Um, because we just uh well wejust did our in the wild
episode, right?

SPEAKER_03 (01:10):
Yeah, yeah, that one was that was great.
I loved it.

SPEAKER_01 (01:13):
Yeah, I I did too.
People uh we've gotten prettygood feedback on it.
I think people liked it.

SPEAKER_03 (01:19):
Um well I haven't heard from the vodka queen, so
she must not have made itthrough the last couple.

SPEAKER_01 (01:25):
Well, uh based based on what she told us, it's gonna
take her like three or fourdays.
Yeah.
And uh, you know, she's probablygonna be kind of disappointed
because uh when she can finallyget to the end, she'll realize
that we don't well, we don'treally care what you said.

SPEAKER_04 (01:42):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (01:46):
Yeah, so that was good.
Um this uh it's gonna be anotherkind of I guess you know
variation on our normal thing.
Um uh which I guess we're gonnahave to name this.
Well, so let's back up.
I'm I'm I'm on the ranch.
I'm in the I'm in the studio.

(02:06):
You are obviously not, you're onthe road.
Um so what are we gonna callthis?
Uh set and centered on the road?

SPEAKER_03 (02:15):
Uh yeah.
Well, for me it'd be on the roadagain.

SPEAKER_01 (02:20):
Yes.
Although be careful how you saythat, because you might get into
copyright.
On the road again.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (02:29):
I'll just I'll just send Willie a pound of a pound
of weed, we'll be good.

SPEAKER_01 (02:33):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um uh set and centered wideload.

SPEAKER_03 (02:38):
No, that's not uh uh West Westbound and down.
I don't know.

SPEAKER_01 (02:45):
Oh, that's not bad.
Westbound down.
Uh long haul.
No, that's that's toodescriptive of all of our
episodes because it could be along haul.
You know what I think?
I think we should call it rideand dirty.
Yeah, ride and dirty, ride anddirty.

SPEAKER_03 (03:03):
We could go with two pups and a fat guy.

SPEAKER_01 (03:07):
God, that sounds like a song.

SPEAKER_00 (03:10):
Two pups and a fat guy.

SPEAKER_03 (03:14):
You might you might have to get a hold of your guy
and have him uh come up with asong for that.

SPEAKER_01 (03:18):
Do you think I'm not already doing that right now?
Like I'm I'm already on it.

SPEAKER_03 (03:23):
That you know, that is the thing with us is one of
us says something, the otherone's like on his phone looking
looking this shit up.

SPEAKER_01 (03:30):
Well, I mean, yeah, sometimes another way to say
that is one of us is trying todo a show and the other one's on
his phone playing games andlooking shit up.

SPEAKER_03 (03:41):
Yeah, looking looking up the big words that
you use.

SPEAKER_01 (03:45):
I haven't used a big word in a long time.

SPEAKER_03 (03:47):
That's true.

SPEAKER_01 (03:48):
Yeah, I'm trying to I'm trying to be considerate.
So uh well there's there's afirst.
Uh fair enough.
And since since you decided togo that direction, why don't you
uh I just can't I'm gonna sitback.
I want you to tell the listenerswhy, Mark, why is it that we

(04:12):
have to record an episode rightnow in this situation while
you're on the road?

SPEAKER_03 (04:20):
Because somebody was supposed to get their computer
uh all figured out andeverything, so that when I get
up to the Pacific Northwest, wecan do uh podcasts.
And so we were doing that until3.45 in the morning.
Yes, you uh so we were doingthat until about 3.45 the other
morning, and then uh so wefigured, hey, what the hell?
We'll just try and do a podcastwhile I'm on the road.

SPEAKER_01 (04:42):
God, that's that um can we do my version now?

SPEAKER_03 (04:48):
Yes, let's do your version now.

SPEAKER_01 (04:50):
So about I don't know, three or four weeks ago,
um, we talked about like, ohyeah, how are we gonna do this
when I'm out of town?
And at the time I thought thatis great.
Like uh props to you forthinking ad.
And I said, Well, there'sdifferent ways we could do it,
blah blah blah.
I said, Well, I'll get you someaudio equipment, some stuff, and
you can take it and get yourlaptop fired up and we can test
it, you know, from across theroad and all that stuff.

(05:13):
And uh, so I gave you that, andthen two weeks later you had to
bring it back because my mom'sin the studio and you hadn't
fucking used it anyway.
I need some of that shit.
And then we did that, and thenyou were like, Well, I can't get
in my laptop.
And let's do a little cut backto I was giving you shit,
because I'm like, How do you getinto your laptop if you can't
remember the password?
Like, oh, it's fine.

(05:34):
I got it.
Yeah, um cut to you bring meyour laptop hat in hand.
Please make it work, please.
Yeah, so I did.
I spent about six hours and uhum it did take like six hours.
I wasn't working on it the wholetime, but I just I I reinstalled

(05:55):
Windows and I I had to set apassword and the the login name
the username was Mark.
And I chose a password that Ithought would be easy, and the
password I chose was Maggie.

(06:16):
Correct.
My old dog correct.
And knowing you as I do, Ithought, well, let's just I'll
be on the safe side.
I'll set up some recovery uhquestions.
Like, what was your first highschool?
And I said three of them.
I you know, and I made st I justmade stuff up, but I'm like,

(06:36):
whatever.
But I wrote down on a post-itnote, one post-it note, username
Mark, password Maggie, otherpost-it note.
I'm like, if it asks you whatyour first high school was, it's
this.
If it asks you what your firstcar was, it's that.
And they were all likefour-letter words.
I mean, it's so fucking simple.
And then you're like, oh great, thank you so much.
You take it back, and you Ithink it took like a week to

(06:58):
even try it.
Like, I can't I can't even log,I can't log in still.
I'm like, what and I'm like,really?
It's just Maggie, like it's justMaggie.
And you're like, oh, you meanlowercase?
I'm like, yeah, lowercase arelike, oh, I'll bet that's what
it was.
I was using a capital M.
I'm like, mm-hmm.
Yes.
And so another week went by,whatever.

(07:21):
Cut to last night, aboutmidnight 30 before you were
leaving across country.
You're like, so what are wegonna do about the podcast?
And I'm like, ah, you tell me,bud?
Uh and I'm like, Do you want totake a hiatus?
You're like, no, I think youshould keep it going.
I'm like, well, if we're gonnado it, then we gotta do it
tonight.

(07:41):
And so I grabbed a bunch ofshit, we went over to your
place, said, All right, firstthing, let's make sure we can
get in that computer.
And you opened it up and I typedM-A-G-G I E boom, logged in.
And I looked at you like, areyou fucking kidding me?
It didn't work for me.
That's what you said last night, and I was like, okay.

(08:06):
So I'm like, all right, okay, well it's in.
Alright.
And then I, you know, hooked upall the shit.
And by the way, well, back up toyou were supposed to get your
laptop open and get themicrophone, all that fucking
shit, and test it so we could doa remote from across the road,
not across the country.
Uh so I hook all that shit upand it wasn't fucking working.

(08:26):
Oh my god, dang it.
Like, I don't know what we'regonna do.
I'm like, let me try somethingelse.
And so I go get more shit.
Blah blah blah.
Long story short, gotta work in.
And so hey, you can and you canget you can log in there, you
can you can type Maggie, thename of your dog, get in your
computer, microphone works,headphones works.
I'm like, great.

(08:47):
And you're sitting there, we hadit on the tailgate of your
truck, and you're sitting there, you got the headphones on,
you're like, Yeah, it works.
You turn to me, you're like, sowhat do I do after that?
And I'm like, and I think I saidto you, I'm like, I really wish
we could have done this a monthago.
I'm gonna step away for a secondand have a smoke and a beer.

SPEAKER_03 (09:08):
Well, we all know that I put the pro in
procrastination.
We do, we do, and and I Iprobably need a cape also, since
I'm so good at it.
A cape?
Yeah, you know, it it's like asuperpower for me.
I need a cape.

SPEAKER_01 (09:22):
It's like a stupid power.
Look, man, you know me.
Like, I proc I'm with you on theprocrastination, but I'm just
like, oh, I did everything in mypower in advance to like get it
all, you know, like help you setup.
Whatever.
But to my credit, not yours, tomy credit, I was really I was

(09:42):
really irritated at point, soyou know that.

SPEAKER_03 (09:44):
And yes, I do know that because I know that you've
also told your brother aboutyes, yes.

SPEAKER_01 (09:50):
But to my credit, I was just like, we could have
done this a fucking month ago,but I'm gonna step away and have
a smoke, and I'm back in threeminutes and we'll do it.
And we did it, and we got itdone.
Um I'm like, great.
So when you get up toWashington, we can use this, we
can record an episode.
Fantastic.

(10:11):
And then and then, oh my god, you're like, well, why don't we
just record it while I'mdriving?
And I'm like, And to be fair, Ididn't get what you meant at
first.
I'm like, are you fuckingkidding me?
Like, we're gonna set themicrophone up on your dashboard
and do this whole fucking thingon get your laptop going.
You're like, no, there's callingme on the phone.
I'm like, oh yeah, maybe wecould do that.

(10:33):
And here we are.
And here we are, though wedidn't have to be because we
could have recorded some inadvance.
Although, you know, to back up alittle bit, uh, the other thing
you fucked up was the last stepbecause every time we were oh,
did I just hit the micro?
I did.
Uh also I have to be I have totell you, uh, I made a huge

(10:57):
mistake coming in here to thestudio right now.
I left the door open.
And in my periphery, I'm justseeing cats flying every which
direction or whatever.
But no, to back to back up, uhwhat we do every time, every
time we record, and then whenwe're done, I send you the raw

(11:19):
audio.
And you listen to it, and if youhave thoughts, whatever.
But basically, like I send youthe raw audio, and your job,
your only job at that point, isto be like, yep, yep or nerp.
Yep.
And so on the last episode, thein the wild one, uh, I sent it

(11:42):
to you and like five days later, you're like, Oh shit, maybe I
should listen to that.
I'm like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_03 (11:49):
Yeah, well, in my defense, I could hardly see for
like four days.

SPEAKER_01 (11:54):
So I know you had a sty you had a sty in the eye.
Yes, I did.
And I offered you pie.
And you offered me pie.
Oh my god.
You know what?
I'm gonna be honest with you,you almost flipped that one by
you by me because like I didn'thear from you for three days,
and then you're like, hey, I gotthis sty in my eye, I can't see

(12:14):
you.
I'm like, oh god, you know, Iget it, that sucks, and
everything.
Uh, but I was telling Rob thattonight earlier.
I'm like, you know, it's notentirely his fault.
He has a sty in the eye, buthe's like, but he could still
fucking listen.
And I'm like, oh god, you'reright.

SPEAKER_03 (12:32):
Shit, I had all the lights in the fifth wheel turned
down and everything because Icould hardly hardly see it was
too bright.
Oh shit.
Yeah, well, uh but yeah, I did Idid drop the ball on that.

SPEAKER_01 (12:46):
You did, and I appreciate you taking that one.
And I also appreciate you beingwilling to make up for it by uh
you know recording on the road.
Um which again, I'm gonna saythis about this episode, uh,
because I said it about the inthe wild one.
We don't know how it's gonnasound.
Um that turned out pretty well, right?

SPEAKER_03 (13:08):
Yeah, it turned out really well.

SPEAKER_01 (13:10):
Yeah, and we don't know if this is going to, but if
it does, then you get credit fortrying to make up for it.
And if it doesn't, uh I don'tknow, maybe maybe I'll take Rob
up on his offer to be the newhost.

SPEAKER_03 (13:23):
Yeah, be the sub-host or the sub-co-host or
whatever.

SPEAKER_01 (13:28):
Yeah, I think he was going for co-host.
Now he's just like, he's like,oh wait, uh, Mark's out of town
for a month?
And then I'm like, I'm just youknow, I'm on the phone with him,
and all of a sudden I get anemail from Rob.
It's like res Rob resume.
I'm like, okay, but no, I'm justkidding.

SPEAKER_03 (13:46):
Oh shit, I might have to change my direction to
just go kick his ass.

SPEAKER_01 (13:50):
Yeah, yeah, well, maybe.
Oh yeah.
But uh, no, we're gonna yeah.
Well, I was telling you earlier,we're gonna well now that I I
spent uh like two or three hourson the tailgate of your truck in
the middle of the night, gettingyour computer going whilst being
pretty pissed off.

(14:10):
Um we're able to we're able touh you know do the able to do an
episode when you're up there, and I told Rob I was like, you
know, we get that going.
Um you know, we'll have you onuh as a guest, not a guest host.
Although I can't make anyguarantees.
He may just take over.
I don't know.

SPEAKER_03 (14:28):
Well, that's typical Rob, he just takes over
everything, which is great.
Believe me.
I've I've been at the advantageof having Rob go, Well, I'll
just do that.

SPEAKER_01 (14:36):
I was I was gonna say, I'm glad you finished that
thought because he does takeover everything, and then before
you know it, you're like, Oh,you can I you put my mailbox in
and my fifth wheel hitch and mysolar panels on my roof, and
this is great.

SPEAKER_03 (14:52):
Yeah, it's like I mean, but when we were talking
about the fifth wheel hitch,he's like, Well, you gotta go
get some lumber and stuff forthe mailbox.
I'll just go ahead and put inyour fifth wheel hitch, put in
the rails, and that way when youget back, it's done, and I'll be
damned when I got back.
All he all he did was Itightened one bolt.

SPEAKER_01 (15:08):
I know you tightened one bolt.
I remember that because it waslike that last bolt on either
side that needed to be 87 footpounds, and uh I took one side.
Yeah, didn't know probably tookabout 25 seconds.
Uh, and then you were over therelike, oh god, oh so long.
You know, I was gonna saythough, that day you took my

(15:28):
truck to get that lumber.
Yes.
I I don't know if I told youthis, but like when I got in my
truck later, I'm like, it feltlike getting in my dad's car
when I was a kid.
I'm like, the seat was so farback, I couldn't reach the
pedals, couldn't reach thesteering wheel, like yeah, I

(15:51):
hear it, I hear it all the timewhen Christina gets into a car
that I've been in.

SPEAKER_03 (15:55):
Jesus, I can't even touch the steering wheel with my
arms.
I know.

SPEAKER_01 (16:00):
Yeah, it's like Jesus, I'm like, I didn't I even
know my truck, the seat wentback this far.

SPEAKER_03 (16:06):
Well, you gotta put it back and then you gotta put
the back of it down, so then itgives you the the you know the
low rider ride.

SPEAKER_01 (16:13):
Oh, do you do the thing?
Do you do the tilt like on thesteering wheel where you like
tilt it all the way down?

SPEAKER_03 (16:21):
Like the steering wheel's always up.
Damn it.
You knew that was coming.

SPEAKER_01 (16:36):
I didn't know what was coming.
I just as soon as you saidalways up, I'm like, oh god,
it's not gonna be good.
Um yeah.
Okay, so you I don't even knowif I uh we mentioned you're on
the road, of course, but I don'teven know if we covered it.
Maybe I'm back like repeating.

(16:58):
You are going you are drivingfrom the ranch back up to um
Washington where you moved downfrom.
Um yeah, you're gonna spendabout a month up there.
Uh you got well, got somebirthdays.
Uh what's what's the deal, bro?

SPEAKER_03 (17:16):
Uh yeah, I've got uh my son's uh 31st birthday is on
the 19th.
The grandson, uh his son'sbirthday is on the 20th.
And then here uh month agoyesterday, we had a great niece,
and for once uh finally found afamily that didn't want to know

(17:36):
what the gender of the baby wasgonna be.
So they're doing their uh crap, they're doing their baby shower
on Saturday, so going up forthat.
And then I got another grandsonon the 2nd of April.
That it's his 15th birthday, soyeah, that's that's a lot of
shit.

SPEAKER_01 (17:56):
Yep.
I mean it's it's cool though,though you can I mean you can
you can go up there and kind ofget all that stuff, uh not in
one shot, and you'll be therefor like a month, but it's great
that you can do all those thingswhile you're up there.

SPEAKER_03 (18:10):
Yeah, yeah.
And then we're gonna go up to uhEdmunds and see our friends Dino
and Cindy and spend a few dayswith them and have a great time.

SPEAKER_01 (18:17):
And oh yeah.
Is she gonna get is she gonnagive me shit?
Like when are you when are youdoing that?
Because I feel like by that Ifeel like if I haven't watched
Dirty Dancing and Finding Emo bythe time you see her, she's
gonna have comments.

SPEAKER_03 (18:32):
Uh she she will, but she'll she'll definitely be nice
about it.

SPEAKER_01 (18:38):
I know she she's always nice.
Um just I don't want todisappoint her.

SPEAKER_03 (18:42):
Um why I do.

SPEAKER_01 (18:46):
I assumed.
Uh you disappoint me all thetime.

SPEAKER_04 (18:50):
Uh well.

SPEAKER_03 (18:55):
Welcome to Christina's world.
Disappointment afterdisappointment.

SPEAKER_01 (19:00):
Speaking of that, I turned off your water earlier,
like you asked me to.
Oh, thank you.
I appreciate that.
And I'm disappointed in youbecause it's leaking at the
spigot.

SPEAKER_03 (19:10):
Is it really?

SPEAKER_01 (19:12):
Yeah.
Just a little tiny bit, likejust just it's like a fucking
proton of water, like justenough to where it's leaking,
and I can give you shit for it.
Cause I I mean I did spend likefive minutes with a flashlight.
I'm like, oh, tell me it'sleaking.
Where's the leak?
Where's the oh there's a littledrop in the dirt?

SPEAKER_03 (19:34):
Ha ha ha found it.
I'll tell you what though, goingfrom what 77 degrees today down
to I'm at 32 right now.
It's it's freaking cold.

SPEAKER_01 (19:49):
Oh, it's that cold out there, really?
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
Well, I told you earlier thatyou're probably gonna hit some.
I'm gonna pull up the map, theweather thing, because I told
you earlier you're probablygonna hit some snow there.

SPEAKER_03 (20:02):
And yeah, that's what you were saying.

SPEAKER_01 (20:04):
I know that's what I'm saying, because I was just
saying that's what I was saying.
Um it it and actually this justoccurred to me.
You probably have no ideabecause your your weather, you
get weather from you know, thehottest weather chick on
YouTube, quote, and you can'twatch YouTube while you're

(20:26):
driving, so you're not supposedto.

SPEAKER_03 (20:30):
Yes.

SPEAKER_01 (20:32):
Uh yeah, so well, you're gonna be good for a
while, but no, still most ofIdaho is snowing.
Uh Salt Lake snowing, Wyoming.
I think you're gonna go throughsome snow.
Um looks like it's a littlerainy and shit up in Washington,
but mostly snow.

SPEAKER_03 (20:51):
Well, I I'll be hitting that.
Hopefully.
Uh well, now it's morning time,so hopefully this evening I'll
be going through all that and itcan freeze up and I can just go
ice skating.

SPEAKER_01 (21:07):
I I would pay money, like serious amounts of money to
see you ice skate.

SPEAKER_03 (21:15):
Well, actually, what I'll probably do is I'll I'll do
a little bit of national amp andvacation to put the dogs on
their leashes on the backbumper.
Just drag them through the ice.

SPEAKER_01 (21:27):
That is uh you know, like one of the things about
this podcast is because for afucking dog rescue, right?

SPEAKER_03 (21:37):
Yeah, you you're the ones with the rescue dogs.
I just got dogs.

SPEAKER_01 (21:43):
And I was thinking too, like, you never know
listening to it because it'slike uh yeah, what's that?
Uh dog rescue podcast?
It seems like they just talkabout Patrick Swayze and and
dinosaur bones and shit.
I'm like, yeah, pretty much.

SPEAKER_03 (21:57):
Yeah, Patrick Swayze, Linda Gray, you know,
all the all the Important stuffin life.
Linda Gray?
Uh not Linda Gray.
What's airing her?
What the hell's um Yeah, thebaby.
She played baby.
The baby.
Yeah, something.
Jennifer Gray.

unknown (22:11):
Damn it.

SPEAKER_01 (22:11):
I just I know.
I need a minute because likehave we is it possible for us to
get through an episode withouttalking about fucking dirty
dancing?

SPEAKER_03 (22:23):
Like Patrick's.
Not until you you watch it, thatin Nemo, and then we can do a
critique on them, and then thenwe'll be done with it, we'll
find something else.

SPEAKER_01 (22:35):
Okay.
I I don't think that's gonnahappen, but well, I'll I'll
watch them.
I just I don't think that it'sgonna like be all of a sudden in
our past and we never talk aboutit.
Oh Jennifer Gray.
No, the last time you mentionedJennifer Gray, uh you were like,
oh Jennifer Gray.
And what you said is like, yeah, before she got a nose job and
everybody hates her now.

(22:55):
And the reason I was soexasperated, two reasons.
One, it's like of course youknow all these you know all the
actors and stuff, except for thefucking one that I mentioned
last time.
Like who that never heard ofthat.

SPEAKER_00 (23:08):
Never heard of that.

SPEAKER_01 (23:09):
Yeah, but then the other thing is is like, oh, she
got a nose job.
And that was my thing.
You always got a fucking littleyou got a little problem with
like everybody.
Like I I sent you the uh uh avideo of uh well Dolly Parton,
she did uh uh Clear Boom ClearBoom Morning, like a recent you

(23:30):
know, version of it video, andshe had Queen Lazifa and it was
like an ensemble, right?
Yeah, that was a good one.
Beautiful, and your only commentwas well, it's too bad Rebo
McIntyre's such a bitch.

SPEAKER_00 (23:44):
I'm like what the fuck even like what and you had
nothing to back it up, by theway.

SPEAKER_01 (23:53):
I'm just like, what do you mean?
She's like, well, she's she is.

SPEAKER_03 (23:57):
I I've always got a bitch about something.

SPEAKER_01 (24:00):
I know, especially pop culture, which is just like
really?
I mean, it was got a hey, uh, Ihave to pee.
Okay, I'm gonna put a mark here.
Yeah, I gotta go piss.

SPEAKER_03 (24:13):
I'll be right back.
Okay, I'll do I need to do deadairs or should I say something?
You do whatever you want, butI'll be right back.

SPEAKER_04 (24:23):
Okay, goodbye.

SPEAKER_03 (24:25):
Yeah, I'm good.
Yeah, here we are, running downthe road, New Mexico.
Says I got 41 miles until I turnon 25 north in Trinidad.
So not too bad for leaving todayat five o'clock in the
afternoon, and now it's fouro'clock in the morning.

(24:48):
So that ain't too bad, I don'tthink.
Got the two dogs with me, Ellieand Maggie.
They're back, they're sleeping.
I got them, I got them hot dogswhen I was I got them snacks, I
got them hot dogs, so they'repretty happy with me every time
that we stop and they get to goout and go potty, and then they
get their water and their hotdogs.

(25:08):
So that's a good thing for dogsto do.
Their mom doesn't think so, butshe's never really road tripped
with just herself.
Well, if she ever did that, shewould learn that you gotta have
snacks for the dogs as you go.
Jesus Christ, how long does ittake a man to be?

(25:29):
I mean, he's got a smallbladder.
It's like every five minutes.
I gotta be, I gotta be, I gottabe.
It's like those those birds fromNemo.
Mine, mine, mine?
Oh, you're back.

SPEAKER_01 (25:44):
Oh, not yet.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
I just came back and I heard youmaking it.
Do I want to know what you weresaying?

SPEAKER_03 (25:53):
Well while I was no you I was just talking about my
drive and were you actuallytalking the whole time?
Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (26:02):
So we're gonna have to keep it.

SPEAKER_03 (26:04):
We don't have to keep it.
You can edit it out.
You're the editor.

SPEAKER_01 (26:07):
I don't I'm editor name only.
I told you I don't fucking allright.
Well, I am actually uh on theone hand glad that you filled
the air while I tinkled.
On the other hand, horrified.
But that but what what that whatmay be in there?
Like I just oh god.

(26:28):
I could just hear I could hearyou be like, uh hey Siri, uh
dwarf, dwarf midget, clown porn.

SPEAKER_03 (26:36):
Yeah.
No, I was I was like, hey Siri, call Rob.
I need a sidekick.
Yeah.
Well, you know what?

SPEAKER_01 (26:47):
Careful what you wish for, because he's he's
angling for your job right now.

SPEAKER_03 (26:52):
I know he is.
Too bad, too bad Robbie's gotit.
He doesn't.

SPEAKER_01 (26:59):
Maybe that could be the sound bite for this episode.
Yeah, yeah, that would be a goodone.
Yeah, well, as I I'll go aheadand write that down since that's
your job, but you never do it.

SPEAKER_03 (27:10):
Well, and you gotta remember you as you were saying
last night, the the statisticsare that the three gay cowboys
has been the best opener yet.

SPEAKER_01 (27:20):
Uh you know what?
Yeah, you're right.
Did I tell you about the firstlike X days, hours, like how
they compare it stuff?

SPEAKER_03 (27:30):
Uh no, I don't think so.

SPEAKER_01 (27:32):
Well, uh 3G Cowboys was ranked number one, which is
what I was telling you lastnight.
Um, but it didn't actually havethe most views, which is
confused me.
But then when I was looking atit, I was like, the deal was uh
when we were recording itbefore, at that time 3G Cowboys
had been out for a week.

(27:54):
Um and so what it was saying islike for the first week, like if
you look at the first week foreach episode, three gay cowboys
was the best.
So whereas uh like the one I'mlooking at right now, the one
we've gotten the the most viewstotal was from Tuksa Tires and

(28:14):
Ticonderogas.
That's the number one overall interms of views, but that's been
out for a month.
Three Year Cowboys has been outfor a week, and Three Year
Cowboys is like the first sevendays of that.
It's like you've blown the doorsoff of everything, except for I

(28:35):
will say, um, this in the wildone.
Uh what we call it, lullaby forthe bitch queen.
Oh god, I didn't I'm sorry,vodka queen.
I thought I misspoke.
Lullaby for insomniacs.
Um, it's actually like trendingso fucking hard compared to

(28:56):
three gay cowboys, even.
Uh oh, really?
Yeah, I don't uh it may be afluke, but we'll see if it keeps
up.
Um how do oh are we talkingabout stats?

SPEAKER_03 (29:09):
Yeah, that's what I brought up was the stats.
I know, but why?
Why, just because I thought itwas cool that the one with
Robbie was I think it's just I Igot two theories here.
Uh, one is because it has theword gay in it.
I yeah.
And and two is once they hearRobbie's laugh, it just you just

(29:30):
fall in love with it.

SPEAKER_01 (29:31):
Yeah, well, I think you're right on both counts.
Um I think I mean I'll go backto what I said before.
If we had if we'd have taken hisadvice and called the podcast
two gay cowboys, we would beriding high right now.
Um but yes, his laugh.
Uh I just every time look, it'sjust so infectious.

(29:57):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (29:57):
Yeah.
Um and then and then when yourmom when he cussed and your mom
jumped in there and scared thehell out of him.

SPEAKER_01 (30:05):
And he's just he's just giggling in the background.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (30:11):
Yeah.
So we're gonna we're gonna haveto do a comparison though, once
once we have Rob on the podcastafter a week, we're gonna have
to compare and then let Rob knowthat he's out of a job.

SPEAKER_01 (30:22):
Uh oh, well, we'll see, because I mean, he he's
trying to put you out of a jobright now, so fucking Rob.
You know, it was so funny.
I was talking to him earlierbecause he listened to In the
Wild, and he's like, uh, hereally liked it.

(30:43):
And he's like, you know, uh, youknow, like uh I'm still down to
be on the podcast, like anytimeyou want, man.
And uh I called him and I says, like, you know, we're talking
about it.
I said, here's the thing, uh,you know, Mark's out of town for
like five weeks, and he's he's atotal jabroni and fucked
everything up, and then cut withhis laptop and shit.

(31:05):
I said, I just laid it out.
I'm like, here like here's thesituation.
And so I told basically my pointwas like, yeah, we'd love to
have you on, but with this, Idon't know, yeah, I don't know
what's gonna happen.
Um, but we'll do it.
Um and god damn it, I've lost mypoint.

SPEAKER_03 (31:19):
Um not my circus, not my monkeys.

SPEAKER_01 (31:27):
Keep your monkeys to yourself.
Give me a second here.
Um what did you say before that?

SPEAKER_03 (31:34):
Uh don't put baby in a corner.

SPEAKER_01 (31:37):
No, fuck you.
You no, for real.
What did you say before it gotme on the Rob thing?

SPEAKER_03 (31:44):
Uh uh that we're gonna have to compare Rob's and
and Robbie's when that whenRob's are.

SPEAKER_01 (31:51):
Thank you, yeah.
That was uh fuck I remembered.
No, you didn't know.
I was just gonna say it wasterrible, but it triggered what
I was thinking of, which uh Isaid, yeah, so we definitely
want you on there, not sure whenwe're gonna be able to do it.
And I said to like, uh, aren'tyou worried though?
It's gonna kind of ruin themystique of Rob.
And he's like, What do you mean?
I said, Well, you know, you'vebeen on like three times for two

(32:15):
or three seconds each, and uhyou get name checked in like
every episode, and he's justlaughing.
He's like, Yeah, pretty much.

SPEAKER_03 (32:25):
Yeah, it was great when uh you went to call Robbie
and he called Rob.
He said, Oh, never mind, wrongperson.

SPEAKER_01 (32:34):
Yeah, like I know, except you just sounded so
disappointed then.

SPEAKER_00 (32:40):
Like, oh, okay, that's fine.

SPEAKER_01 (32:42):
Yeah.
Uh and like I s like I told you,uh, if I'd have thought of it, I
would have done it on purpose, but it was a complete accident.

SPEAKER_03 (32:51):
Yeah.
And I and we won't mention thatwe've talked about just calling
him and hanging up.

SPEAKER_01 (32:59):
Well, no, hold on.
That sounds rude, Mark.
That's not what we've talkedabout doing.
What we've talked about.

SPEAKER_03 (33:07):
Maybe I talked to myself about it.

SPEAKER_01 (33:09):
No, you do.
Well, I was gonna say what we'veactually talked about is not
much better, but just and wecall him up and be like, hey
Rob, you're on the podcast.
You'd be like, Oh, finally, hereI am.
And I'm like, Oh, wait, actually, oh, we're out of time.
Catch y'all later.
Yes, and then as he's like, sonof a bitch, as it fades out.

SPEAKER_03 (33:30):
Yeah, and then slip in.
Is Robbie home?
Yeah, oh god.

SPEAKER_01 (33:36):
Okay, we gotta do that to him.
Like, hey, hey, you're on thepodcast.
You're like, oh, finally, great.
Yeah, could you uh could youjust hand your phone to Robbie?
Uh that'd be fantastic.

SPEAKER_03 (33:46):
Yeah, yeah.
Rob Robbie's is only a 52%.
We gotta hand your phone to him.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (33:54):
Well, at least when you call Rob, uh, you know, it's
like, hey, hey, bud.
And then he'd be like, hey bud, what's up?
Or you call Rob B, it's like, hey, bud.
He's like, so you texted me anhour ago, just like right
fucking into it.
I'm like, okay.

SPEAKER_03 (34:17):
You know he's gonna start his own podcast just to
try and outdo us.
Robbie?
Well, both of them probablythey'll be the father and son
duo.

SPEAKER_01 (34:28):
I I I welcome it.
I would I think that would begreat.
Um, another thing I'll say aboutthat is uh one of the things
that Robbie's talked about uhwanting to do, you know, for a
few years is be a streamer, youknow, like a streamer.
I'm doing in quotes.
Um okay.
Yeah, like I guess that's uhgames, right?

SPEAKER_04 (34:53):
Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (34:54):
Yeah.
Um and then also, like, youknow, he didn't have a PC.
And so when he was here at theranch last time, like he I let
him play games on mine, blahblah blah.
So the family went in, we gothim a computer, we got him a
microphone, all the stuff tostream and whatever.
So he could do a podcast.
Um and hasn't.

SPEAKER_03 (35:14):
So well, yeah, but he needs his uncle Ryan to to
help him with his opening intro, and that would be him stomping
through the house, imitating hisfather, imitating his father.

SPEAKER_01 (35:28):
Uh does Rob stomp?
Rob doesn't stomp.

SPEAKER_03 (35:32):
No, but Robbie does and says it's Rob.

SPEAKER_01 (35:36):
Did I tell you about that night?
Remember the night that you guysuh disassembled my dog?

SPEAKER_03 (35:45):
Oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (35:46):
Yeah, and I was I was having a night.
I I don't think I was a bitch toanybody, but I was having a
night, and I just like like youknow, I went to bed early,
right?
And so I went and laid down inmy room.
And of course, Robbie, eventhough I have a whole guest
suite set up for him every timehe comes here, he he sleeps on
the sofa.
And uh like, dude, he's stompyusually, but I was in my

(36:10):
bedroom, I was like try kind oftrying to fall asleep in and
out.
Now little motherfucker, once herealized like I was down for the
night, which this is like 11o'clock, very early for me.
Yes, he oh god, he needed a lotof snacks from the kitchen and a
lot of drinks, and he would justbum, bum, bum, bum, stomp,

(36:31):
stomp.
I'm like, I'm sitting there andlike half asleep, I'm like, I
fucking get it, Robbie.
I get it.
It's like a fucking dinosaurfucking stomp at you.

SPEAKER_03 (36:42):
He's well, he's probably upset he didn't have
strawberries.

SPEAKER_01 (36:48):
I tried, Mark.
I went to every fucking grocerystore in town, and I think you
know how scared I was that Icouldn't find them.

SPEAKER_00 (36:58):
I'm like, oh god, there's no strawberries, they
don't have them.
I thought I was gonna get introuble.

SPEAKER_03 (37:05):
Well, you were so scared it made me scared of the
little shit.

SPEAKER_00 (37:08):
I know.
You're like, oh god, should I goto Palestine?

SPEAKER_01 (37:12):
Go to Lufkin?
I don't know.
Yeah.
And I think I think we ended upgetting the strawberries at some
point.
But no, dude, I don't know ifyou I don't know if you did it
when you were here that time, but literally every other time
that Rob's been out here withhim, he will get the biggest
fucking like bowl I have.

(37:32):
Like mixing bowl.
It's like a punch bowl.
And he'll just go in there andjust like slice up strawberries.
So it's a literal fucking punchbowl of strawberries that we
just have in the fridge.
And then every now and thenRobbie just goes in, grabs his
punch bowl, goes back to hiscouch, he just sits there with
the punch bowls in his lap andjust eats strawberries while

(37:53):
he's watching the YouTubes.

SPEAKER_03 (37:57):
At least he's got a routine.

SPEAKER_01 (37:59):
Oh, yeah.
I mean, I yeah, I guess it'seither that or uh his Totino's
pizzas or chicken nuggiesinstead.
The Nuggies, the Nuggets, theNuggies, the cheese, the mac and
cheese, the oh god, thelaunchables.
Fuck and he only eats thechicken ones.

(38:21):
So every time he fucking comes,I clean out the goddamn, you
know, the wall the grocerystores here in town.
Because you know, the chickenones they don't have like it's
the less common one.
And yep, like I'll order like 15of them when he f before he
comes, and that's just like forthe weekend.
And they'll be like, Well, weonly had nine.

SPEAKER_04 (38:42):
And I'm like, Oh god.

SPEAKER_01 (38:44):
I feel like having to tell them, like, well, you
need you need to tell them.
Like, I don't want I don't wantto tell him we only had nine.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, and he goes throughphases, like some days he
doesn't eat anything, some dayshe just eats everything.

SPEAKER_03 (39:00):
Yeah, yeah.
I was yeah, you know, because Iwas told he only eats nuggets
and uh the pizza rolls and anduh macaroni and cheese, and then
he was eating this and he waseating that.
I'm like, what the hell?

SPEAKER_01 (39:13):
Yeah, no.
No, as uh that's one thing likethe last couple years he's
really gotten a lot better aboutis uh a variety of different
things.
But like some days you probablysaw it when he was here, like
some days he we we just be onthe deck because there's a
that's a glass sliding door, youknow, in the back of my house,

(39:35):
right into the kitchen, and likeevery fucking three minutes he'd
be going in into the pantry, into the fridge, getting more
food.
I'm like, Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_03 (39:45):
Yeah, you'd you'd you sit there and go, How in the
hell are you so skinny?
Yeah, all you all you do is layon the couch, watch YouTube, and
eat everything that's in thehouse that you like.

SPEAKER_01 (39:56):
I know, yeah.
Although apparently it's uh it'spretty strenuous uh in some
capacity.
I don't know if I told you this, but remember when they uh when
Rob and Jamie went to uh dotheir anniversary thing?

SPEAKER_03 (40:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (40:13):
Yeah, so they you know they were gone for I don't
know, they left early afternoon, got back later that night.
So I watched the kids and like Imade I made a deal with Robbie
because he had wanted to playthis PC game.
And um I said, look, uh Idownloaded the game, it's on my
computer, and I showed it tohim, like, do you want to play

(40:33):
this?
And his eyes got big.
He's like, Oh yeah.
I'm like, all right, here's thedeal.
I said, you can play it as longas you want, while your parents
are gone.
As long as you help me with Kai.
At any point, anytime I needhelp with Kai.
He's like, okay, you got it.
Um and uh Do you hear squeaks?
Is it just me?

SPEAKER_03 (40:54):
I hear squeaks.
Is that on my side?
It's on your side.

unknown (40:57):
Oh god.

SPEAKER_00 (40:59):
I'm so scared because Finley's outside and
Okay's outside and Hartley's inthis crate.

SPEAKER_03 (41:04):
Yeah, I was gonna say it's gotta be Finley.

SPEAKER_01 (41:07):
No, it's not.

SPEAKER_03 (41:09):
Uh oh.

SPEAKER_01 (41:10):
No, Finley's outside.
Oakley's outside.

unknown (41:14):
Oh god.

SPEAKER_01 (41:16):
Uh oh.
Oh, okay.
I'll deal with that later.
Um talking about uh the game.

SPEAKER_03 (41:25):
Robbie and the PC with Kai.

SPEAKER_01 (41:27):
PC.
Yeah, I can't remember what mypoint was on that.
We're talking about before.
Oh, skinny, yeah, yeah.
I was saying it was strenuous.
Because like he's you know, he'dbe in there and he'd be playing
or whatever.
And at one point I was he'd bein he was inside for a couple
hours, and uh I was outside andhe comes out and he's like kind
of walking back and forth on thesidewalk behind the house.

(41:49):
And he's like, he's like got hisknuckles together, he's like
stretching on him doingstretches and stuff.
I'm like, uh, how's it going?
He's like, Oh, I'm good.
He's like, I'm sore, I'm reallysore.
I'm like, from what?
He's like, the game.
He's like my wrists are sore, and I need to do some stretches,
and I'm like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_03 (42:10):
Oh my god.
To be 12 years old and be sore, that'd be great.

SPEAKER_01 (42:14):
Yeah, well, from a game, like yeah, I remember
that.
Um, so I guess I don't know,maybe Hartley's getting good at
this podcast thing because uhwe're at the end of the show.
Already?
Thank you for doing it rightthis time.
Wait, was that genuine or wereyou just now I'm never gonna

(42:37):
know.
Are you fucking with me?
No, it did go by pretty fast, huh?

SPEAKER_03 (42:41):
Yeah, it it only took uh 64 miles.

SPEAKER_01 (42:46):
Now we're measuring it in miles.
Uh did we did we decide did wedecide to call it uh set and
center riding dirty?

SPEAKER_03 (42:57):
You're no, we're not calling it ride right.
Everything with you's gotta beriding something.

SPEAKER_01 (43:03):
No, I don't ride, I am ridden.
Oh I love I love it.
I love it when I throw one backin your face and you regret
opening your mouth.

SPEAKER_03 (43:19):
Yeah, it's kind of hard to talk right now.
I'm trying to keep my mouthclosed.

SPEAKER_01 (43:23):
Yeah, I've heard that one before.
Um, but uh well we've got tocome up with a name before we
end the show, and we're out oftime, so we gotta do it fast.
Um I vote ride and dirty, setand center, ride and dirty.
What do you what do you want tocall it?

SPEAKER_03 (43:38):
Yeah, that works for me.
Let's call it ride and dirty.

SPEAKER_01 (43:40):
All right.
Set and center, ride and dirty.
Um, so I'm gonna let you go.
Uh uh, do you hear the squeaks?

SPEAKER_03 (43:48):
I do hear the squeaks.
That's awesome.
Oh my god.
That's awesome.

SPEAKER_01 (43:52):
To Little Hartley, which if you were a real friend,
you would have taken him withyou.

SPEAKER_03 (43:57):
I I uh I asked Coy if he wanted him, but he Hey,

(44:33):
it's Mark here at Set andCentered.
Uh, just want to let everybodyknow that if they want to catch
us on the socials, you can catchus at our webpage,
setCenter.live, or on Facebookat Set Center Live.

stuff like that as we keep ongoing.
And also we talk a lot about theanimals here on the ranch.

(44:55):
And you can we'll post picturesof them.
We'll see how it goes.
Let us know.
Have a goin'.

SPEAKER_02 (45:07):
Holding it together, we zip ties, baby.
Dogs in the dirt, giving sideeye shade.
Laughing through the mess thatwe just made.
Yeah, we said it's centered, butthe world's off track.
If it's broke, it's us.
You can count on that socket'sgone, wind blows, gate won't

(45:38):
latch.
Toolbox open like a raccoon gotsnatched.
Coffee, cold, temp, I sweat, regret, still talking like we
got it.
You bet we take a breath, thenwe jump back in.
Same two clowns, same old grim.

(45:59):
We're sitting in a kind ofsorta, maybe.
Holding it together, we zipties, baby.
Dogs in the dirt, giving sideeyes shade, laughing through the
mess we just made.
Yeah, we're set and centered, but the world's off track.

(46:20):
If it broke, it's up.
But you can count on that.
Break time, yell it all unwind.
Thousand dogs judging with thatthousand-yard mind.
Project list is long, but we'llget there soon.
That's a lie, but it's a goodtone.

(46:40):
We're set and set up, kinda, sorta.
Maybe held together by stubbornand a little crazy.
You're still listening to one ofthe pack.
Now back to the chaos.
Here we go.
