Speaker 1 (00:00):
Trusting yourself is
the only shortcut to success,
not because it's some vague likefeel-good concept, but because
it literally changes everythingthat you do, the way that you
move, how people respond to youand how fast things can come
together.
You are the power.
Move Like you.
That's you.
Welcome to.
She is Redefined, the podcastwhere we break free from
(00:20):
societal expectations, redefineour identities and step fully
into the woman we were alwaysmeant to be.
I'm Katie Smith, your host andguide on this journey of
transformation.
Here we're all about embracingchange, cultivating confidence
and living life on our own terms.
Each week, we'll dive intotopics that inspire, challenge
and empower you to redefine whatit means to be you.
(00:41):
So if you're ready to rewriteyour story and live life that's
bold, authentic andunapologetically yours, let's
dive in.
All right, welcome back.
Okay, you probably have noticedthis about me I'm not really a
small talk.
Let me get you caught up on mylife.
If you want more of that, letme know.
I am such a driver buyer.
(01:02):
If you know the differentpersonalities of buyer, this
literally brings me back to mycorporate days, when I would do
trainings and train people onsales and negotiation, and if
you're a client of mine, youknow how freaking good I am at
that.
Literally, I've been asked bynot one, not two, but three
one-on-one clients of why Ididn't become an attorney,
because I've been able to helpthem negotiate like the craziest
things.
That is my jam.
(01:29):
If you have not known that orif you don't know that but look
at me just getting off ontangent oh, I'm a driver buyer.
I like to like get right intoit, just like myself, like I
don't really care about people'slives of the podcast people
that I follow, like shoot me, Idon't like sorry, I just want
the goods Right.
So I am very much like thatwhen I do my own things.
That's maybe why you're here soI could give you all these
updates under the sun about myfamily, but I'm kind of like who
cares?
I don't know.
(01:49):
So tell me if you want more ofthat and I can share more of my
life.
But anyways, let's get to thesecret at hand and it's all
around trusting yourself, andtrusting yourself is the
shortcut.
Most women think success isabout getting the right strategy
, posting at a certain time orthe right time, working harder
than anyone else, putting thetime in.
(02:09):
I mean, I do feel like thatparadigm is shifting, but I
don't see people talking aboutthe power of trusting yourself
and that, like anything andeverything is all around how
much you trust yourself.
The women who move the fastesthave conviction and trust within
themselves.
They actually don't have adifferent strategy than you, and
(02:30):
if you've invested in yourselfat all like multiple times, you
would know that everyone'ssaying the same dang thing, but
someone has a different approachand energy around it.
So let's be real for a second.
Why doesn't anyone teach us howto trust ourselves?
No one does Like.
I didn't learn that in school.
I learned that by myentrepreneurial journey.
Which.
Who said it?
Oh, my gosh, bob Heilig, isthat his name, I think.
(02:53):
He always said thatentrepreneurship is personal
development with a paycheck, andI cannot agree more.
So when I grew up, I wanted toalways seek approval.
I took that well into.
About two or three years ago.
I had the good girlconditioning.
I just did that short riff onreligion and God.
If I wasn't a good girl, Iwasn't liked, I wasn't accepted.
(03:17):
We are taught in school and it'snot a bad thing.
I feel like I used to talk alot of shit about this stuff and
then I realized it's not a badthing, it's just part of human
earth school here.
But like we have to follow aformula to get it right.
Right, the grades they teach usto do all these things where
it's like you are going to passif you get it right.
So you have to follow a formulainstead of trusting your
instincts.
(03:37):
Right In classrooms you reallygot to sit down and shut up.
That's why homeschool is such ahot thing right now because
they don't want their childrento grow up like that.
They want their children tofollow their internal instincts
and trust themselves.
But school and society, for many, many reasons, we're taught not
to do that and that's okay.
That's your path.
It's supposed to happen thatway.
(03:57):
Another thing is like we'rekind of taught to overthink
every decision because we'realways trying to get it right,
and this can be down to gettinga blueberry muffin or something,
or what do I want to get todrink for coffee at the coffee
shop?
It's literally so overwhelmingat a restaurant, do you feel me
on that?
Yeah, but when we operate thisway, number one, we're not
trusting ourselves.
Number two, we'resecond-guessing ourselves at
(04:22):
every single thing, at everyturn.
We're stuck in this energy oflike, what if this doesn't work.
Is this the right choice or not?
Am I going to get it wrong?
And we're always waiting forclarity instead of deciding that
you already have it.
And if you've ever felt likeyou need to fix yourself before
you can fully show up, this iswhy.
This is totally why.
But the women you see soaringand growing and not stopping and
(04:45):
scaling their business, theyreally don't do any of the
things that I just listed.
Like they don't wait to feelready, they just move.
They have a level of trustwithin themselves more so than
you do if you're not making themoves that they are making right
.
They don't hesitate beforemaking a move.
They don't hesitate beforemaking a move.
They don't hesitate beforeinvesting in themselves.
They don't look at a certainprice tag and say they're not
worth it.
They don't look around forpermission.
(05:07):
They're moving completelydifferent.
Like that's the best way I cansay this Now.
When we don't trust ourselves, there's actually some science
behind that.
Like that's a real thing.
Trusting yourself literallychanges the way your brain works
, because when you trustyourself, your brain stops
looking for the proof of failureand it starts looking for the
proof of success.
(05:28):
So that's why two people livecompletely different realities,
because we create our realitywith what we tell ourselves
upstairs in our brain, and can'tforget about the nervous system
.
Your nervous system shifts outof flight or fight and into calm
certainty when you trustyourself over and over and over
again.
So what that means is theenergy that attracts high level
(05:49):
clients, clients who pay in full, higher offers, people who will
pay you for your higher offers.
The energy that attracts moremoney, more opportunities that's
when your nervous system ischilled the fuck out and more
living in a state of certainty.
Another thing is people aredrawn to leaders who are certain
.
That's why my book of businessis completely changing, because
(06:09):
I started operating myselfcompletely different.
Of course, my messaging startedto change, but I started
attracting more leaders.
Because that is what I'm doing.
I'm paving my path of rich withease, freedom and flow.
But insane success without thisis trusting yourself.
When you trust yourself, it'snot some stupid mindset trick
(06:32):
that I'm trying to tell youabout.
Like, we are so far past that,my friend.
It's a power move.
Trusting yourself is a powermove.
Why am I going to water myselfdown or shrink?
Because whoever I have anencounter with has more power
over me.
I don't care if that's a bossfigure, an authoritative figure.
They don't have any more powerover you.
(06:56):
If you can go into everyencounter and this is what I
break down in Power Moves, thatactivation audio series like you
need to get your hands on it,the testimonials are insane.
But like you don't have anyless power over anyone you come
into contact with or interactwith.
Like you get to say, youstepping into any situation, a
car dealership walking in, youcan control how it all goes if
you move with certainty andpower and you are in control of
your attitude and your nervoussystem and you don't think you
(07:17):
don't know all the things.
That's just a simple example.
That could happen to anythingwith your school's teachers,
with the principal, with yourbank, with your mortgage, like,
whatever it may be.
You would be shocked if youeven started playing around with
this energy.
You can tap all into that inPower Moves.
I'll link that down below.
I have to write a note, okay, because ultimately, like when
(07:38):
you trust yourself, like yourenergy shifts first and the
results follow, it bends.
It's like the 51% rule I saythis all the time Like can you
be 1% more in favor of what youwant by how you're holding
yourself Again, not a mindsettrick, it's literally do you
trust yourself to have thingswork out for you, do you?
And do you trust yourself on aminute-by-minute basis to where
(08:00):
it can?
I was just working intimatelywith a one-on-one client about
helping her walk within her edgeand helping her find all this,
and it was a beautiful, beautiful work.
And I gave her literally acheat sheet this, and it was a
beautiful, beautiful work.
And I gave her like literally,a cheat sheet.
It was like half a page long sothat she can always course
correct to make sure that she isstaying within her edge, which
is specific to her.
This is what I do withone-on-one clients.
I find your specific edgethat's unique to you.
(08:24):
I help you own your uniquenessand step into the world in that
where you are undeniable,un-fucking-deniable, not one
option of many.
You're the only option becauseno one else is you.
And guess what, when you figureout your little cheat sheet
codes that I give you to walkwithin your edge, content
(08:44):
improves your life withrelationships, improve your
health and your body improves.
You're in alignment whereeverything flows.
It's like weight falls off.
It's like all of a sudden, youlook more youthful and young and
brighter, because you'reactually walking within your
edge of your uniqueness of you.
Had to go on a little tangentthere because I'm just so.
I love this work.
(09:05):
It's so liberating, it's sofreeing.
So what can you do today totrust yourself?
How can you step into fullself-trust today If you've been
second-guessing yourself,waiting for clarity, hesitating
on a move?
Here's how to shift into aquick little I got this moment.
You can do this today.
So can you make a decision andnot to second-guess it Like move
(09:28):
.
Can you do that today aroundanything?
The fastest way to build trustwithin yourself is keep a
promise to yourself and do whatyou say.
So this is everything down togoing on a walk, putting on
makeup, doing your hair, whatever it is working out,
whatever it is.
Second thing you can do is justmove first and let the proof
follow, and then the last thingis stop outsourcing your power.
(09:48):
So every time you hesitate andyou ask is this the right move?
What should I do?
Should I do this Like remove, should, like?
Is this the right move?
What should I do?
Should I do this Like remove, should, like shoulds?
We don't want to talk aboutshoulds anymore.
Anytime you do that you'rereinforcing the idea that you
don't already have the answerright.
It kind of makes sense when youlook at it like that.
So instead decide, just decideand move and know that whatever
(10:09):
move you make is always going towork out Like, can you just
walk around like that today?
Whichever move I make, it'sgoing to work out either way.
Even if there's a bump in theroad, don't care, we're not
going to play this game of.
I should have done this.
Maybe would have beendifferently.
Like, who's to say?
No one is to say.
And if you, if you heardsomeone tell you that, oh, you
should have done this for x, yand z, they're taking your power
(10:30):
.
You're not.
Instead, you just have completeconviction of, like everything
worked out, no problem.
If you have that, thatconversation wouldn't even be
brought up.
I know I'm talking like reallyhigh level here.
So, like, hopefully I'm notlosing you at all.
