Dana Gastich French, affectionately referred to by friends and colleagues as “The Language Professional,” is the founder and lead consultant for UpRiver Education, an education consulting firm that partners with schools, districts, and state agencies in their mission to maximize outcomes for one million multilingual learners. Inclusive and asset-based approaches to learning and growth are at the heart of her work. Her presentation style is known for generating ideas and aha’s through story, metaphor, and creative connections! During her two decades in education, she has served as an ESL/bilingual teacher, instructional coach, and district-level administrator. Ms. Gastich French co-authored the text Teaching English Language Learners: Content and Language in Secondary Classrooms. She lives in NH with her husband, three children, two pups, and a tortoise.
