In today's story the brave Daniel stands up for what is right. Other's don't like it so they create a plan to get rid of him for good. Lions, betrayal and heart ache.

Our story today is Daniel in the lion's den.
This is short with Schertz.
Where we share a quick creativebiblical story with some follow
up questions. Our goal is apartner with you to grow deeper

Whoa! What was that?

Narrator (00:35):
Oh, those were the lions.

Speaker (00:37):
Lions! Will they attack us?

Narrator (00:41):
No, unless you get thrown into their pit.

Speaker (00:45):
Oh, okay. Wait! say what now?

Daniel (01:07):
King, may you live forever. You're awesome and yes
we can be friends.

Narrator (01:29):
Yeah, just last week King Darious' top governers got
thrown in. Let me tell you thestory. Daniel was a top governor
of the Persian Empire. KingDarious and he were friends.

King (01:36):
I like you Daniel. Can you friend me on facebook and follow
me on Instagram?

Narrator (01:38):
King Darious, the ruler of Persia. .. Well, the
other governors didn't like thatidea. So they planned to trick
the king hurt Daniel and gainthe reward for themselves.

Governors (01:51):
Let us laugh together. We have a great plan.

Narrator (01:54):
What was their plan and why? Daniel was amazing at

Governors (02:55):
Oh wise King Darius.
May you live for a very long,long, long, long and extra long
time. Make a law oh wise King.

King (03:05):
Okay.

Governors (03:06):
Make a law for the 30 days or a month, whatever you
choose, that every single personmust pray only to you. And if
they don't they get tossed inwith the lions, and they be
hungry.

Narrator (03:23):
Bom bom bom

King (03:27):
I love the idea that all should pray to Me. It will make
me feel even more important.

Narrator (03:36):
News spread of the new law. When Daniel heard he went
home, opened his windows andprayed to the living God, three
times a day like he had alwaysdone. This new law did not stop
him. He served God. This isexactly what the other governors
needed. They ran to the king.

Governors (03:54):
Oh, dear king. May you live forever and a long time
to your choice. Did you notwrite a law saying people should
only pray to you?

King (04:08):
I did.

Governors (04:09):
Daniel prayers to his God not you. Burn.

Narrator (04:14):
The king was really sad. Night came. The king who
was bound by law gave his orderof Daniel to be thrown to the
lions. The king yelled to Danielas he felt.

King (04:24):
My friend may your god whom you follow save you.

Narrator (04:29):
Daniel hit the floor.
It was dark growling was heard.
A bright light appeared.
Meanwhile, in the king'schambers, King Darius couldn't
sleep. It was a long night.
Morning came and he ran to thelions pit hoping for the best he
yelled down.

King (04:50):
My friend. Are you still alive? Hello.

Daniel (04:54):
Yes. During the night, God sent His angel to protect
me. I'm not hurt, not even ascratch.

Narrator (05:02):
Daniel was set free from the lions pit. King Darius
declared Daniels God was thetrue God across his kingdom. And
the other governors who trickedthe king to hurt Daniel were
thrown to the lions. God hadrescued Daniel. Thanks for
