Narrator (00:03):
Welcome back to Bible
story shorts with Schertz.
That's me! Season One. We haveshared stories focusing on God
and rescuing from all over theHoly Bible, from Moses to
Esther. Today's story is about aguy named Noah, how he stay
focused and committed to God,even when it wasn't popular. So
(00:24):
grab your raincoat, umbrella andboots. The forecast calls for
rain from the sky! Let's stepinto the true story.
Noah was a really old man, likesuper old. How do I know? In
Genesis chapter five? The bignumber verse 32, the tiny
(00:46):
number. The Bible says Noah was500 years old when he had kids
Noah (00:52):
man I look good for my
age. More than Pilates baby.
Plenty of veggies and a dailyworship to God.
Narrator (01:00):
Thanks, Noah. So kids,
were your parents that old when
they became your mom or dad asksthem now. Okay, let's continue.
Noah was a man of integrity andinnocent. However, most people
on Earth are not and God wasreally sad.
God (01:20):
Noah, Noah I have a plan to
rescue you and your family from
all this wickedness.
Noah (01:39):
God creator of heaven and
earth and everything in it.
Please share your plan. What youwant me to do ... a boat, a big
boat. But what's a boat?
Narrator (02:03):
this is actually the
first recorded time of a boat in
the Holy Bible. Before this, there was the creation story and
that didn't have any boats init. It's easy to see boats now
in our time. They're everywhere.
Big boats, small boats, fastboats, slow boats, boats that
carry lots of people in boatsthat carry lots of trash. God
(02:24):
gave really detailedinstructions to know as to how
to build the big boat. Thisblueprint in hand. Noah was
almost ready to build but Godhad more to say.
God (02:39):
This boat was saved you
from the rains I will send.
Flooding your whole world andcleansing it from all it's sins.
I will send you two of everykind of creature of the earth
(03:03):
and sky... Yes, even lion, tigers and bears Oh my my my my.
all that creeps and crawls uponthe ground. Oh Noah I will bring
(03:32):
them to you. Now go forth Noahand build me a boat and know I
(03:54):
am with you always.
Narrator (04:19):
this boat was filling
up quick. The boat also known as
the ark was massive.
measuring in at a stunning 450feet long 75 feet wide and 45
feet high. This modern marvelcan hold every type of animal on
(04:39):
earth times two. Let's get readyto go!
This is a big boat. It was thesize of one and a half football
fields and that high is abronchialsores dinosaur. Or you
(05:00):
could say it's the size of thesmallest Cruise Line ship.
Noah (05:02):
I'll do everything God
what this boat blueprint or may
I say? Boat print sounds like abuttprint. Three sons and a
wonderful and beautiful wife. Wewill start.
Noah Wife (05:17):
Hey baby.
Noah (05:18):
Hey girl. Let's cut the
cypress wood trees down. God
wants this type of wood. We needa lot of them to build the ark.
Speaker (05:30):
Do you're crazy
following God? God doesn't
exist.
Noah Wife (05:37):
Yes he does.
Speaker (05:40):
Clearly you're wrong.
Because no water has ever comefrom the sky like your god
claims it will.
Narrator (05:47):
In fact, listeners up
until no water only came from
the ground, not the sky. So thiswas the first documented time
rain came from the sky. Well, alot of firsts in this story. The
Bible says that Noah was 600years old when he started to
build...
Noah (06:05):
still looking good. I've
got a consistent and steady
routine of exercise eatinghealthy and godly worship.
Narrator (06:15):
Yeah so he was 600
when the flood came. All animals
came into the now completed arkwith his family on board God
shut the doors to this massiveboat.
CHILD (06:27):
It's really coming down
out there to add Whoa, did you
feel that the boat is movingit's rising to float on the
water.
Noah (06:38):
God has saved us from the
flood. Now we care for the
animals and the ark and wait forthe rain to stop and for the
water to go back down.
CHILD (06:48):
How long waiting is hard
and boring.
Narrator (06:54):
In Genesis chapter
seven, verse 12, the rain fell
on the earth for 40 days and 40Nights. So what does that mean?
An average month isn't 30 days.
So a little over a month itrained. Gee, if it rains
consistently for two whole days.
I can get cranky. I don't knowabout you. Imagine sitting on a
(07:15):
boat carrying tons of animals, making sounds of all kinds and
not being able to go outside fora month.
CHILD (07:22):
Super annoying, being
cooped up with my brothers and
their families for a month. Notbeing able to go outside or
wander around because I mayknock over something or irritate
the animals.
Noah (07:38):
Well, luckily we have all
this stuff and chores to do to
keep our mind off that likecaring for the animals. Let's go
Narrator (07:47):
when the rain stopped,
water went down and the massive
Ark set to rest on Mount Ararat.
Noah sent out a series of birdsto make sure the earth was safe
to walk on again.
Noah (07:59):
Fly bird fly.
Narrator (08:02):
The Raven came back
the dove came back. However, the
second dove never returned. NowNoah knew the earth was safe
again to walk on. Noah, hisfamily and all the animals
exited the ark. This was a newday. Noah built an altar
thanking God for His protection.
God replied back with a gift ofa rainbow. This showed Noah
(08:24):
God's promise to never flood theearth again. A beautiful
reminder of God's hope and love.
God's story of his rescuingpower continues.
Until next time listenersdiscuss these questions.
Question What if you were Noah?
How would you design the ark?
(08:48):
Question two. What is thelongest you have had to wait one
minute 37 minutes 7485 minutes?
What was it for? In Questionthree. As the rainbow was God's
promised to know what is God'spromise to you? Thanks again for
listening and we'll see you nexttime.
