in Europe today in Spain, anamnesty deal has been signed between the Socialist

Party and the Catalan separatist JUNZ perCatalunya party. The seven Jundts elected members
of Congress will now be a partof a large coalition with the Socialist Party
of President Pedro Sanchez. That partieshave been negotiating since the general elections in
July, in which no party gaineda majority. In twenty seventeen, Catalan

leaders organized a referendum that was notapproved by the Spanish government and then declared
the independence of Catalunya, which hasnot been recognized by any country. Many
Catalans, including the Catalan President CarlosPuigdamont, were charged with various crimes relating
to the referendum and declaration of independence. As a part of the deal between

the Socialists and Junts, the chargesagainst these people, including Pujdamont, will
be dropped. Pugdamont has been inexile in Belgium since twenty seventeen. An
