From the football field to craft beer innovation, this week's update spans Salt Lake City's diverse community landscape. We've recently shared Mitch Matthews' compelling journey from BYU football star and NFL player to successful entrepreneur. His newest venture, Flow House in Pleasant Grove, builds community around wellness practices including hot treatment, cold therapy, and breathwork. Matthews offers profound insights about authentic community building that transcends mere social media metrics.

Summer has officially arrived in Salt Lake with the kickoff of concert season! We're celebrating by giving away tickets to Hardy's performance at Utah Credit Union Amphitheater. The cultural awakening continues with the Fireweed Market at HK Brewing this Saturday, featuring over 50 local artists, food trucks, and beverages in an all-ages friendly environment. This creative marketplace represents everything we love about Salt Lake's community spirit.

Looking ahead, our conversation with Chad Hopkins of Hopkins Brewing drops this Thursday. Recorded inside the bustling brewery itself, Chad shares how he created one of Sugar House's most beloved establishments. Hopkins Brewing embodies the perfect trifecta - exceptional craft beer, outstanding in-house food menu, and community-focused programming every night of the week. We're also continuing our Vault series this Saturday with more authentic Salt Lake stories. As we embrace the warming weather, we're also supporting the American Cancer Society's fundraising efforts - a cause close to my heart. Check the show notes to contribute to this important work and join us at the Fork Cancer event on August 8th.

called Flow House down inPleasant Grove where he's
building a community around hottreatment, cold treatment and
breath work to help bring peopletogether and grow a community
there.
Lots of life lessons there, lots of great points about

(00:45):
building community and how hardit is and how it can take time
and doesn't just rely onfollowers and popularity.
Also, part two of episode fourof the Vault series with Cameron
and Ying Nance is live.
This is one of my favorite rawstories that I've had on the
podcast and they're two of myreally good friends that I also
got to see the story happen, live as it did.

(01:06):
So great story about findinglove internationally and then
finding themselves in Utah andbeing entrepreneurs and building
where they stand here.

There's going to be 50 plusdifferent art vendors.
There's going to be food trucks.
There's going to be drinks andbeverages.
It's an all ages event.

(02:09):
So if you want to bring thekids, bring the family, make
sure to do so.
I'm going to be there.
I specifically love local artmarkets and supporting local
artists.
That will be from 3 to 8 pmthis Saturday at HK Brewing,
which is 370 Aspen Ave, by theTesla Repair Place, pretty close
to Target on 3rd West.
So come check that out for sure.

(02:30):
And also, and most importantly, want to announce this week's
guest.
So one of my favorite places tograb a beer, especially in Sugar
House, is Hopkins Brewing.
In my opinion, it's one of theplaces that has a full triple
threat as far as any brewerygoes.
They have amazing beer.
They are one of the fewbreweries that has their own

(02:51):
menu in-house Great menu thatChad Hopkins has been able to
build, and their programming isamazing.
Every night they have somethinggoing on and truly support the
community.
So we're going to hear morefrom Chad Hopkins himself about
the story of how he started tobuild chat, about the story of
how he built Hopkins Brewing andsome of the plans he has for
the future.
So great guy, great episode.

(03:13):

the American Cancer Society tohelp raise some money for a
great cause.

and a lot of the people aroundme that I know and care about.

It's starting to get reallywarm, so take advantage of that

(04:18):
time to get outside before itgets a little bit too hot to do
so.
Start to build on that tan fromthe pasty whiteness that
settled in over the winter.

Chad Hopkins, saturday at bothHK Brewing for the Fireweed
