What are we talking about today?

Yeah, I fucked up the intro.
So anyway, we're we're looking atPsychopass Episodes 1 through 4.
Previously we had talked about doingthis anime because we saw the movie.

The movie was good.
Yeah, the movie was good.
And then we also saw Thefirst episode was pretty good.
The first episode was pretty good.
But now we're doing areview of 1 through 4.
I'm done with this anime.
We've had a bit of a change of tone here.
It's just It has the potentialto be a really good anime, but
it just drops the whole ball.
It just, it's repetitive and boring.

And there's not any character progression.
It feels forced.
We're like in episode 4.
The episode 2, all she did waslike, Oh, I need to decide if I
want to be in this job or not.
You know what?
In the end, I do.
You took an whole episode to do that?
To decide?

And then one of the, one of the huntingdogs they call him was like, Hey, listen.
You get to decide what your fate is.
Yeah, apparently she's so awesome, likein this world like this, like the law
system also chooses what job you can have.
And, but she's so cool, and shehas any job that she wants to.
She, her scores are so high, shecan do literally whatever she wants.

And she's oh my god,what's the meaning of life?
Is this the job for me?
And the guy's this is all I can do.
This is all I've been able to do.
Since I was like five.
Yeah, since I was five.
So maybe stop bitching so muchand just do it or not do it.
He was like, I've been in jailsince I was five because I
could potentially be a criminal.

Which makes a lot of sense.
Yeah.
He was like, I was trying reallyhard not to be a dick, but
you're really making it hard.
Not to be one.
That was the only scenein that episode I liked.
Yeah, and then episode three Basically,there's some guy who works in a factory
and he's crazy, but he's so predictable.
They're like, oh who could be the killer?
Maybe it's the guy who'sgetting picked on all the time.

Yeah, and beat up all the time Ofcourse, he's gonna be the one who gets
pissed off and want to kill people.
Yeah, it's very predictable andthe thing is They're cut off from
everybody else, so the way theykill time is by bullying each other.
No, bullying one person.
Bullying one person.
And of course, that's theguy who wants to kill people.
Yeah, it's very predictable, and theykeep their crime coefficient down.

But also, they don't because everythingis completely analog, and you can't
use any technology inside there.
I honestly think that this episodewas but those two episodes were
like, I feel like, this episode 4should have been like the second one.
Because it seems like they're actuallybuilding towards something oh you have
a killer, in the fourth episode, there'sit's about avatars, and someone's killing

people's online, The actual peoplecontrolling their avatars so instead of
what then the avatars to walk around doingstuff we had a hint that's what's that.
That's what was happening is the thingwas that they were talking about it.
They were like, what happened to him?
He's he hasn't used any money.
He's got a lot of it He well,maybe he went on vacation.
That's an avatar called thetalisman maybe he's on vacation.

Yeah, you can't go anywherewithout us knowing.
And then the other dude was likeit's quite obvious, isn't it guys?
He's dead right because the plumbingis all backed up and then of course
they look in the sewers and ohchopped up bodies So it's okay.
There's some murderergoing around murdering.
That's interesting oh, someone could killyou but still live your digital life.
That's interesting That's yeah But andthen I guess they set it up to where

oh, it's potentially some killer personcuz then they kill They do it again to
somebody else at the end of the episode.
But then Okay, this episode is setting upsomething that was gonna make me watch the
next episode two and three do not do thatNo, so what can I've already burnt out?
At this point.
Yeah, I'm I'm good on this anime.
I really don't like it.

No Yeah, dude, I don't know worthywhat else is there to say about this
I mean There really isn't a whole lotto say Alright guys I am referring
to, I do not know how to stretch outthis review These people, there's
like nothing, like nothing happens.
An actual okay.
In the actual four episodes,not a whole lot happens.
In the first episode, you getintroduced to okay there's these

people who are like dogs and thenthey because they're latent criminals.
If you listen to the previoustwo episodes, it's okay, they're
latent criminals, then they go,find other people who are latent
criminals, and that was cool, right?
Cause you could predict what they'regonna do, but that also makes
them criminals, stuff like that.
And then she ends up shooting oneof them that first episode was cool.
It's pretty cool.
But then it, but then it just becomesone note the rest of the anime.

It looks like second, the secondepisode and the third episode
are trying to recapture theawesomeness of the first episode.
Yeah, it's it's just, it justbecomes very redundant and
has four seasons and a movie.
This thing has four seasons.
And a movie.
And the movie is good.
The first episode's good.
So I feel like somewhere elsearound here, it's probably good.

But I was telling this to Nicholas.
I was like, look.
I am not that type of person.
Don't tell me it gets good at episode 6.
Or don't tell me itgets good at episode 8.
Just make it good From the beginning.
Here's so we just did Bleach Blood War.

Thousand Year Blood War.
Blood War.

Yeah.
Those episodes were really good.
Now We couldn't keep up witheverything that was going on.
Because the pacing was so incredibly fast.
Bleach is known to reallystretch out its episodes.
Yeah, but for some reason theydecided they were like, you know what?
We're not stretching shit.
In fact, we're condensing it for Bleach.

All of them.
Take their inspiration from Dragon Ball Z.
Remember back in the day with Toonami,It took like NEXT TIME ON DRAGON BALL
Z It took ten episodes to do a fight.
Because they were sitting theretalking to each other the whole time.
And that, and Toriyama's explanationis they are moving at light speed.

So that five minutes isactually five minutes.
It's just that they'removing at light speed.
Yeah, but then they'realso talking to each other.
And light is faster than sound by a lot.
It doesn't matter, anime.
Yeah, anime logic.
I'll check that one out the anime.
But this is different.
It's there's just I think that I cansee where someone's argument where Oh
that's a shonen, that's all fighting.

Okay, but you can't actlike there's not potential.
When we watched the movie, therewas fighting in there and shooting
and I go very action based.
Yeah, and the first episode seemedvery action based, but then the
last two episodes seem like it waslike Sherlock Holmes the obvious.
It wasn't like, like when you writea mystery, it has to be mysterious.
Like this fourth episode.
Okay, there's a killer.

You don't know who he is.
He's killing peoplebehind the scenes, right?
He's this group of people thatare killing these avatars.
That's like mysterious, right?
And it's hard to predict what's goingon because you don't know what happened.
But the first, but two, the It's supposedto be some action mystery shown in, there
was literally none of that in episode two.
And then also, They weren'treally even world building either.

I mean you saw people put on clothes,but I feel like, hollow clothes,
but I feel like that could havebeen You know, I have it for Russia.
There was not a question in my mind.
It wasn't like, oh god.
Please, I just, it's just sucha burning question how we will
get dressed in the future.
I'm not gonna lie though, gettingthat little pod thing and then
choosing your clothes based on thecombinations you have, based on the

clothes you have, that's pretty dope.
It is pretty dope is it,there's so much potential here.

That's what makes it sad.
There was no It just feels real forced.
There was, they tried todevelop the characters, but they
also didn't at the same time.
Like it was All I feellike I know is Kogari.

Cause he's oh, I used to be a cop.
But then something happened.
And now I'm just ascrazy as everyone else.
And I have to, I will complete my mission.
Whatever that is.
And then everybody, and then oldgirl look like she's 9 years old.
Yeah, the main character is oof.
She's not a lolly exactly, but Iwould say that she's like a tall

One of those tall, one of those, yeah, Ithink they're called lollies aren't they?
When they're children or some bullshit.

episodes we just watched of this anime.
Who's the script writer for this?
First of all, this shit says, okay I'mlooking at the pause credits for this.
It says the script writerfor this Japanese anime was
Jared Hedges and Blair Rowan.
Do you think that, so Ain'tno way some nigga named Jared
wrote this Japanese anime.
Do you think, because there's this happensin TV episodes, this happens in epics.

Do you think that there weredifferent directors for each episode?
Or what do you think, causedthe first episode to be so good
and then to just fall so flat?
I honestly This is my suspicion.
All right, the movie was good enough forto get us interested in the series, right?
And the first episode was good enoughfor us to get interested in the rest of

the episodes Two bangers and then somehowthis is really boring What I suspect is
this is as is one of those cases wherelike I think these first two It might
have been just filler episodes two andthree I mean Like those episodes like
Naruto's famous for it's filler, yeah,but the filler's still good though.
It's irrelevant.

I feel like cause here's, hear me out.
With Naruto's filler I can't say allof it's good, but a lot of the Naruto
episode fillers you can still enjoy.
To say all of them are goodis pushing a little bit.
But, all of them you canstill really enjoy, right?
Here's my thing with this.
It feels like they putthese fillers in here.
And just to fucking do it.
I guarantee, cause Like themain storyline, based off

what we saw in the movie.
Based off what we've seenin the first episode.
And a little bit, what I like, I see.
If this would have been like theseven episode, second episode.
This episode four, I would havebeen still more interested in it.
Yeah.
I would have been more interestedin seeing that in the episode three,
as you find out who that killer is.
I'm like, okay.
I would have done something different,but it's not a bad show, right?

But, then here's what I think.
I feel like episode 2 and 3 were justrandom fillers that just weren't good.
And so now, with this episode4, you're getting back on track
to something that's interesting.
And really they just shouldhave let the, there shouldn't
be any fillers on this at all.
I think that the, I think that theshow is already like mid, right?

I think the show's already it's okay.
It's interesting.
It's not whoa!
It's just interesting.
And the thing is that Youputting, trying to put terrible
filler in it is just completelyturning me off to the whole show.
You know Because you want to space it out.
Yeah, you know what else, Ijust thought about the issue.
With Arto, his fillersstill have arcs to them.

You know what I mean?
The filler, like this is clearlylike an episodic show, where one
episode kind of doesn't have anythingto do with the last one, right?
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
Each one is the killer of the week, right?
The monster of the week.
Naruto is not like that.
Naruto is Each episode For you tounderstand what's going on, you
gotta see the previous episode.
Dragon Ball Z is kinda like that.
This is more I think it worksbetter, Trailers work better

when they work in conjunction.
Let's say that this, I haven'tseen episode 5, but let's say that
this episode 4 and 5, We're thentied to one ending one, right?
Okay.
That's an art, right?
It's like a connected fillers.
So it's okay.
It keeps me interested.
Two and three did not do it.
Two should not even exist.
Two didn't do anything.
They didn't show anything in episode two.

Cause I looked up, we saw episode one.
So I was like, let me do some, I'mgoing to look up some stuff about this.
And all I heard was like.
All I saw was like, first ofall, episode 2 is the worst
episode in the fucking series.
And I'm like, that's not good.
That's the second episode.
You'll if you're in, if you're like inthe show, you're like 50 episodes deep.
You'll be like, ah, that one wasbad, but I might still continue.
Cause I'm 50 episodes in this.
It's the same with One Piece, right?

I went like a hundredsomething episodes in.
Mind you, it's still One Piece,I don't know if I really want
to continue with this anime.
Not that it's bad, because thereare tons of die hard One Piece fans.
It's not that it's bad.
They'll probably kill you for saying that.
For whatever.
It's not that it's bad, it'sjust, the pacing is bad.

I'm not saying it's a bad show, I'mjust like, but, even then, There are,
I don't, But I'd still, I would stillcome back to it every once in a while.
But that's because the, you let,There was some part of some of the
earlier episodes where you're like,Okay, this is keeping me hooked.
You gotta hook them in the beginning.
You can't just have onegood episode up front.
Cause I feel like you dropped the ball.

If one, two, and three are goodyou're gonna be able to solid fanbase.
If only episode one is good, and therest of them are terrible, or you have
any sort of dip after that, you're gonnahave people like us, who are like, Oh
it makes me more mad that it seemed likeI was gonna waste my time with this.
You know what I'm saying?
It felt like a waste of time.
If it was just bad from the beginning,then, we didn't waste our time.
Now we feel like our time's been wasted.

What if this turned into We werelike if you want us to watch more,

And one of his coworkerswas at Asian game.
I don't know what, I don't know Asian fromwhere, but he spoke her for Spanish like.
