Thanks for
taking a few moments to listen.
Some time for yourself to behere and experience some
spiritual tools that you canintegrate into your life.
To live in the divine flow.
A time to discover ways toexperience deeper inner peace,
balance, and wholeness.
(00:22):
It's great to connect with you.
Today we're talking about how toteach your mind to be happy.
So to begin, here's a questionfor you.
Did you know that your mind canonly think one thought at a
time?
It's true.
The human brain is wired to onlybe able to process one thought
(00:46):
at a time.
It's not built to multitask.
While the idea of thinking onethought at a time might seem
limiting to us, it's actually anincredible gift that the Creator
has given us.
When we realize this truth, itopens the door to greater
control over our mental, emotional, and spiritual lives.
(01:13):
By becoming aware of yourthoughts, you can intentionally
direct your focus.
Instead of letting worries, fears, frustrations, disruptions
dominate your mind, you canconsciously choose thoughts that
bring you joy, When we train ourminds to dwell on thoughts that
(01:36):
are good, life giving, anduplifting, we literally start
the process of rewiring ourbrains.
It's a process neuroscientistscall neuroplasticity.
The brain has an ability toreorganize itself by forming new
neural connections.
(01:57):
Over time, our positive thoughtpatterns become your brain's
default setting.
Essentially, you're teachingyour mind to be happy.
When our thoughts are alignedwith goodness, Our entire being,
mind, body, and spirit movesinto harmony, balance.
(02:19):
We experience inner peace.
This integration allows us toreturn to our natural state of
being loved and being love.
So let's think about it in apractical way.
Imagine you're feeling stressed.
Overwhelmed.
Somebody pulls out in front ofyou in the parking lot and makes
(02:39):
you angry.
Instead of letting your negativethoughts spiral out of control,
try this simple practice.
Pause for a moment, take a deepbreath, and bring to mind
something or someone that you'regrateful for.
Maybe it's the smile of a lovedone, the warmth of the sun, Your
(03:04):
favorite pet, or the taste ofcoffee.
Whatever it is, let your mindfocus on a single thing that
you're fully grateful for.
As you focus on that sense ofgratitude, that one thought
about what you're grateful for, you're not just distracting
(03:25):
yourself.
You're actively shifting yourbrain's neural pathways toward
positivity.
This practice of focusing onlife giving thoughts is kind of
like planting seeds in a garden.
Over time, the seeds grow, andyour mind becomes a flourishing
space of gratitude and joy.
(03:47):
The beauty of this practice isit's not just about the mind.
When our thoughts shift, ouremotions, our physical state,
our spiritual state shifts alsoand follows those positive
thoughts.
When you focus on the positivethoughts, you might notice that
(04:08):
your body relaxes.
Your breath deepens.
You feel more centered, moreconnected to the present moment.
What you're doing is integratingthe mind, body, and spirit so
they work together in harmony, reminding you of your true
essence, which is love.
(04:29):
So take a moment with me if youwould.
Notice something that you'regrateful for.
Bring it to mind as one thought.
Just imagine what that one thingyou're grateful for is like.
(04:52):
Feel it in your body.
Notice how your brain begins torelax.
Notice how your body relaxes andyour heart opens to experience a
deeper sense of harmony, adeeper sense of Being in this
(05:18):
present moment, what you'reliterally doing in just this few
moments that we took toexperience this practice, this
training your mind to be happypractice, is you're rewiring the
pathways in your brain.
(05:40):
You're stopping that defaultthat we all seem to have of
negative thoughts, of grumbling, and changing the neural pathways
in your brain to go into apositive flow.
And each time you consciouslyredirect your thoughts to
something good, you're trainingyour brain.
(06:00):
And it's a practice, like anypractice, that grows stronger
the more you do it.
So you start with small, intentional steps.
And here's an invitation foryou.
The next time you notice anegative or unhelpful thought
that pops up, Gently redirectit.
(06:24):
Replace it with a thought that'slife giving.
Maybe it's a memory of abeautiful moment.
Maybe it's a prayer mantra like,I am enough.
Or I am at peace.
Or I am patient.
Simply noticing something goodabout yourself or the world
around you.
(06:45):
See how it shifts your mood andyour day.
Try this practice.
Teaching your mind to be happyfor the next several days every
time there's a negative thoughtthat pops up.
Redirect it.
Let it take you one step closerto living from your truest self.
(07:06):
A human being formed and createdin love, living in love.
Remember, you have the power toteach your mind to be happy one
thought at a time.
Continue this practice andnotice how it allows you to live
into the divine flow.
(07:28):
Until the next time, know thatyou are loved.
You are love.
Let that thought make your mindhappy.
