We’re recording from the NCASA conference in Wilmington, North Carolina, and we keep hearing the same challenge from school and district leaders: students need more support, but schedules and staffing are already stretched thin. So we sat down with Rene and Connie from Book Nook to get specific about what scalable high impact tutoring can look like when it’s built for real schools, real constraints, and real outcomes.

leaders to help them with umhigh impact tutoring.

Um we primarily focus on tiertwo, tier three kids, and then
your bubble kids.
Um we also have added some ELLsupport so we can also help
those students that are needinga little bit more support.
We are able to accommodateduring before school, during

(01:04):
school with maybe in yourintervention block, and then
also after school as well.

me at conferences, and then I'malso, you know, sometimes just
meeting with people.
So whether that's to take you tolunch and get to talk a little
bit more about your district, oryou know, you get to learn a

And what's the what's your favorite part of
what what you guys do?

SPEAKER_02 (01:54):
You know, helping kids, honestly.
Um giving students um theopportunity to have that small
group instruction, um, givingteachers their time back and um
you know kind of taking a littlebit of the load off of them.
We we bring in um virtual tutorsvirtually, and so we just can

(02:14):
bring in that scalability, justbring in a fleet of online
tutors to come in, work withstudents, and then just pull
them back out, you know, andthat that leaves teachers that
time where they're not justsitting at the kidney table over
and over and over again.
It's you know, it gives umschool leaders and district
leaders the opportunity so thatthey're not having to coordinate

(02:36):
schedules, pull students out ofcore instruction all the time.
Um we can support, you know, soin so many ways on scalability
of um small group instruction.

SPEAKER_00 (02:48):
Great.
What about you?

SPEAKER_01 (02:49):
I would say it's the real life impact we're making.
Um I go into schools often andI'm able to kind of see like
what our customers are doing, and I'm able to see kind of
those relationships that thestudents have made with their
tutors, and they're actuallylike, oh my god, Booknook is
like my favorite time of theday, and it's like it's so fun
to actually see thatrelationship in real time.

(03:10):
And then it's also just beingable to see the progress as well
because we're able to go overthat data monitoring with them,
and we're able to see like, hey, like what what's happening, and
you're actually able to see thatreal growth.
So, yeah, that's really amazing.

SPEAKER_00 (03:22):
