This pairing was a wonderful experience. The Oliva Master Blends 3 lived up to its billing and it paired perfectly with the St. Remy XO. There were a lot of sweet palate flavors with just a hint of black pepper to keep the time lively. I would highly recommend both together and separately. You can get them here:

I had doubts about the stick in the matchup as the test smoke I had two days prior was exceptionally dry and pretty much exploded on me. I was extremely satisfied with today's pairing. I have had people tell me they do not like WT Longbranch but I thought it was very tasty. And it paired very well with the San Cristobal Revelation. This was an exceptional experience. The Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof was showing its' wares in a bold way. There were notes of maple syrup and caramelized banana that blended very well with the Shade Grown stick's vanilla and sweetness. The JD is stout at 128.7 proof but very manageable and doesn't require water to cut it down. You might consider adding a teaspoon or so but I didn't and it was delicious with a super long finish. The name of the game today is spicy! The Argentum and the Sagamore Rye Barrel Select both offered varying degrees of spice that really fused these two together. The Sagamore offered some citrus and sweetness that paired very well with the sweetness coming off the stick. Listen, give them a try, and tell me what you think!

During the first half I was afraid maybe I had guessed wrong on this pairing and they were going to be better separately than together but as the show progressed the flavors began to work in concert. The Eiroa is a timeless stick that you could enjoy any day. It is just a nice full-flavored, yet smooth and mellow stick. The Bushmills 10 YO may be my favorite Irish Whisky, it is very good with a nice fruity profile that doesn't come...

These are just my thoughts on this issue. I do not believe Jason Aldean at any intention of promoting racism with this song. I watched, I read, I listened to this song, the lyrics, and the video. It wasn't promoting racism, it was promoting small town values of neighbor helping neighbor and everyone feels like family regardless of race. The images of rioting was not directed at one individual race, if you remember downtown Seattle ...

My expectations for this pairing were a little low and it surprisingly surpassed them. The stick was mellow and the drawback was that it just never developed the complexity I was hoping it would. The spirit was good and the stick actually made it better and brought out more of the smooth sherry notes but I think the spirit needs to be aged longer. Listen and give them a try and let me know your thoughts.

This was an exceptional pairing from the first light. Both the stick and the spirit offered a gentle sweetness with no harshness at all. The stick is a little pricey at about $25 but it is worth every penny. The spirit is a classic Speyside with no smoke or peat just wonderful aromas and flavors of fruit and breezy spring meadows.

This turned out to be one amazing pairing. Props to the distillers over at Jack Daniels for hitting another one out of the park. The keyword on this pairing was SMOOTH. Both had a velvety smooth palate that really produced an enjoyable experience.  This is a definite must try!

This was a really good pairing. Don't let the scores fool you. If you are a beginner just getting in to cigars and spirits or looking for a very smooth pairing just to relax and enjoy, this is it. Neither was overpowering and I very much enjoyed the time I spent trying them. You should definitely give these a try, CHEERS!
