(00:47):
feminine way. Welcome back tothe show. My beautiful
listeners, welcome. Welcome toanyone that's new. You are
invited into the circle. Howhave you been enjoying these
podcasts? I'm just so gratefulto be back. I'm so grateful to
be here. I literally made anentire note in my phone a
(01:09):
podcast for seriously 50episodes, because I want to
bring some short, sweet, butpotent things to you all to take
away. I've been listening tothis really beautiful devotional
podcast called Good morning, orGod morning, by a woman named
curly Nikki. Curly Nikki, ifyou're listening, I want to have
(01:30):
you on the show, because I wantto talk about the importance of
solitude and devotion andsilence, and this is what she
talks about all the time. Buther, I look forward to her.
Episodes are short. They're likenine to seven minutes, but she
does them as an act of devotionevery single morning. And so
shout out to curly Nikki. She'schanged my life. And yeah, I
(01:53):
invite you to check her out. Sothis episode is going to be so
short and sweet, because it'sone thought. This thought is
going to be such a game changer.
And I you can use this. This isnot just for when you're
hungover, when alcohol is it hasimpacted you, but it will be so
(02:15):
useful if you are stilldrinking, if you are in that
moment. And you can also use itif you're already on a sobriety
journey, but you are faced witha really strong urge or trigger.
Okay. Are you ready? Write itdown. I can turn this around so
(02:36):
so much of the time, whathappens when? And I'm just going
to use the example of beinghungover from alcohol, or waking
up the next day and feelingdisappointed because you said
you You did what you said youweren't going to do, even if
you're not, like sick, right? Ijust remember at the end, like
(02:59):
the last, like year before Ireally started to get curious,
and I was actually stilldrinking, when the impact of
alcohol stopped affecting me sonegatively, like affecting my
inner critic and affecting theway I felt about myself. And it
was that first initial shift, and this is the initial shift my
clients make two that have thebiggest impact, because most
(03:21):
people come here and stopdrinking, stop drinking right
away, because we're talkingabout it all the time, and they
finally have this catalyst thatjust is like, okay, it flips the
switch for them. But some peopledon't. And I say that taking
your last sip isn't the firststep for this reason, because I
gave myself full permission todrink. I said, like and I talked
(03:42):
about, I talk about this in theactivation circle. Call that I
share is, you are a grown woman, drink, just do it and own it,
own it, own it, own it. And Iwas said this with so much
loving care, own it. And as soonas I said, own it, I was like,
hell no, you're not going totell me what to do, right? Like
it just it flipped the script, where the where I now had a
(04:04):
choice. And that is exactly whatthis thought does as well. I can
turn this around so you wake upnot feeling great, and it's like
you have the choice to letyesterday come with you into
today, which takes so much morework than to decide I'm going to
turn this around and your thephysical impacts actually shift
(04:26):
as well. When the mental impactsshift, it's so much easier to
decide to do something differentthan it is to take yesterday's
energy with you, right? Like tohold a grudge. Takes so much
more work than to let it go,than to forgive someone, than to
to see their intention right, orto just decide, I'm going to
(04:49):
protect my peace. I'm not goingto let someone else's behavior
impact my peace. It takes it isso much easier to decide. Decide
to let it go than to hold on toit. And it in the impact in that
moment, and it will inspire youlater, because you're going to
(05:10):
be feeling better, to not have adrink again, to not continue the
cycle, because in that moment, you're giving yourself a choice
where you didn't have onebefore. So so much of the
journey of awakening in thefeminine way and sobriety and
the five shifts is findingchoice, where you felt like you
had none, where you felt likenothing was working, is looking
for and this is a wildly newperspective. So we don't have to
(05:35):
have regret, we don't have tohave remorse, but we can find a
wildly new perspective torelease the past and to change
the future. And so actually, curly Nikki had said this. And I
don't know if it was her wordsor someone else's, but, or,
actually, no, it was. It wassomething from Neville Goddard,
(05:55):
and she talks about NevilleGoddard was repentance. Isn't
feeling shame and feeling badfor what you've done. It's being
able to see something completelydifferent so you can do it
differently in the future, right? And this is your
opportunity say you, you knowyou yell at your kids when you
(06:18):
say you aren't going to or youdon't show up in a way that
you're going to like you. Youwanted to go to the gym every
day this week, and you didn't dodidn't You didn't do the gym, or
you ate things that you said youweren't going to eat because
they cause inflammation. Right?
(06:40):
Well, in that moment when youright before you go to bed at
night, you can decide, I'm gonnaturn this around right like it's
just, it's one more moment. Thenext moment is a pivot point for
your future. I want you. I wantyou to see how many times you
can apply this and how it makessuch a big shift. The words
alone, just say them out loud. Ican turn this around. It makes
(07:03):
it light. It makes it casual. Itdoesn't put all this weight and
these restrictions and theserules on anything. And you get
to decide. Michael singer says,You're the only one in there.
You're the only one in therelike no one else is telling you
to hold it inside of you. And healso says, Why do we hold the
stuff inside that hurts us themost, all the crap we just keep
(07:25):
pushing down inside of us? Letthat shitaki Go. You can turn
this around, take it, apply it,use it, and see how much
lightness you get from it, andhow it impacts that repetitive
cycle of shame and guilt thatmakes you want to drink again or
that doesn't help you step intothe new version of yourself to
(07:47):
change, bring it to the light, see the future version of
yourself going into that momentand say, change. That's the old
me. I can turn this around, right? So in that moment where
you're choosing and you have theurge, you have the trigger. It's
like, Nope, I can turn thisaround. I'm gonna go for a walk.
I can turn this around. I'mgonna close my eyes and do some
(08:07):
deep breathing. Three deepbreaths will immediately, with
your eyes closed, you find thesilence inside. You tell
yourself, I'm gonna turn thisurge around. You will release it
and but you gotta do it. Yougotta try. Okay, you're awesome.
You wild, wild, crazy ladies. Ilove you so much, and I'll talk
(08:28):
