Big Slick here 👊 Got a story or need advice? Text me now — might make it on Talk Ya Sh!t! 🎙️💯

Ever ask for the truth… then get mad when you hear it? This episode of Talk Ya Sh!t digs into a real listener letter that hits a nerve — being labeled “blunt” just for saying what others won’t.

Big Slick breaks down why people crave “fake nice,” how honesty gets mistaken for hostility, and what it takes to build a circle that can handle real talk without folding.

💭 You’ll learn:

  • The psychology behind hard truths and why our brains see criticism as danger
  • How sugarcoating keeps your friends stuck
  • Simple moves to keep it real without turning it into a brawl
  • How to deliver honesty clean, not mean — and receive it without ego

This is a no-fluff conversation about truth, sensitivity, and self-awareness. If your people prefer lies to clarity, it’s time to rethink the room. We’ll show you why blunt honesty saves time, how to protect your energy, and how to build relationships where accountability is normal and growth is expected.

🎧 Tune in for raw, unfiltered conversation about honesty, mental health, and communication — because sometimes the truth hurts, but it also heals.

If you’re rocking with the message, tap Follow, share this with a friend who needs real talk, and drop a review to let us know how you handle honesty.

SPEAKER_00 (00:14):
What up, what up, what up, what up?
It's your boy, Big Slick, andwelcome to Talk Your Shit.
We got another great show foryou today.
But first, I want to give ashout out to everybody that's
home, everybody that's at work, everybody in their car, all the
truck drivers on the road.

(00:36):
I appreciate you tuning in.
Let's jump right into it.
We got another letter we'regonna read off.
Somebody done emailed in to theLet's Talk About It letter.
I'm gonna read the letter andI'm gonna give you my honest
opinion on it.
So let's jump right into it.
Let's see what we got.

(00:56):
Am I the problem or just honest?
My friends say I'm blunt, but Ithink I'm just being real.
Why do people prefer fake niceover honest truth?
That's a good question.
Let's jump into it.
Why people prefer fake nice overhonest truth?
You know why?

(01:17):
Because you can't handle thetruth.
That's why, man.
Yo, it's crazy that you gottaspoon feed people the truth, you
know.
I'm saying, but you can lie tothem in batches, it's it's no
problem.
You can lie to them and justgive them, you can give them as
much as that all day.
But when you give them thetruth, you gotta give them a

(01:38):
little bit at a time.
It's crazy.
And another reason why people islike this is because people
rather hear what they want tohear, right?
So if it ain't exactly what theywant to hear, they rather you
lie about it, and that thatmakes no sense at all.
You know, I'm saying I'm I'm oneof them people that'll give you

(02:00):
the blunt, honest truth.
I don't got time for thebullshit, I don't got time to
be, you know, going around incircles with dumb shit.
I'm gonna tell you exactly whatit is because that's all I know
how to do anyway.
So I'm one of them upfront typepeople, you know.
So I I can definitely understandhis letter, and I don't I
wouldn't call it being blunt, Ijust call it as being honest.

(02:23):
Like, would you if you asking myopinion on something, and then I
give you the truth about it, youcan't get mad.
You you asked my opinion aboutit.
You you came to me about thesituation, so how could you get
mad about it?
You know what I'm saying?
And then if I'm sitting therelying to you all day, who is
that helping?

(02:43):
Right?
What am I lying for?
I have no reason to lie to you.
So I don't I don't understandwhy people prefer you to lie to
them, you know.
Another reason that is is isthat people are so emotional now
and so fucking sensitive.
This is crazy.
Like if you're telling them thetruth, they they they hurt, it's

(03:03):
it's all types of you know, likewhat's going on?
Calm down, be easy.
Why everybody is so sensitive,man?
Nobody can take criticism atall, no more, you know,
especially and if a criticism iscoming from somebody that cares
about you, you know, they loveyou, they're in your best
interest, take heed to it,right?

(03:25):
Now I can I can see if you feela little, you know, you feel
different if it's somebody thatdoesn't care about you and they
just talking shit or whatever, you're gonna take that
different.
I understand that.
But if it's somebody that youknow or it's a friend that's
giving you uh constructivecriticism, you should be able to
accept that and know that it'scoming from a good place,

(03:48):
they're not just telling youbullshit, you know.
I mean, but nowadays people loveto hear bullshit.
I don't understand it.
That's why I don't fuck with alot of people because people
love to heat they hear it, theyeat the bullshit up, and guess
what happens when you eat up?

(04:08):
You become full of shit.
That's what happens, that's whathappens, you know.
I'm saying so it's crazy, butthat's what people like
nowadays, man.
People don't like that, theydon't like the truth, they don't
like to to to hear that they'redoing something wrong, they want
to hear everything is right, they don't want you to be honest
about nothing, and and that'sthat's bad because nobody is

(04:32):
gonna grow that way.
So, if a lot of people like tobe lied to, just to hear what
they're gonna what they want tohear, how can you grow like
that?
How is it any growth if you likebeing lied to?
You know what I'm saying?
How how how is that gonna work?
You know, you can't reachanother level if somebody is

(04:54):
telling telling you lies allday.
It it makes no sense, you know.
I don't get it, but I fullyunderstand this letter that
people like that.
People like fake nice, peoplelike to be lied to, man.
The honest truth is the best wayto give it to somebody, and if
they can't stand the truth, thenyou know what?

(05:15):
Don't ask a real person your youknow their opinion about
something.
If it was me, I would just stoptelling them shit.
I would tell them, don't evenask me no more, because you know
what I'm gonna tell you thetruth, and then you're gonna be
mad at me, so don't even ask meno more, and then maybe they'll
just stop asking you and theyprefer to be lied to.
And if that works for them, thatjust works for them.

(05:37):
And if your friends prefer to belied to, you might need to think
about who's around in yourcircle, bro.
Like, who's really around you?
You know what I'm saying?
If they can't handle the truth, you might want to cut these
people off.
Might not be the right peopleyou need to be around if they
can't handle the truth.
You know what I mean?
You know, you know what I'msaying?

(05:58):
It's it's it's it's crazy, butthat's that's the way it is now,
man.
People like lies, man.
People like to see lies, peoplelike to tell lies, people like
to hear lies.
Nobody wants to hear the truth, nobody check facts no more.
Everybody talk about receipts, ain't nobody picking up no damn
receipt.
Soon as they see it, they runwith it, becomes a trend.

(06:21):
Who cares?
It is what it is.
But I tell you like this, man, keep on saying that blunt,
honest truth.
You know, I mean, somebody askyou your opinion.
Give them the truth becausethat's what I do all day on my
show.
You already know what it is,it's big slick, and it's been
another episode of Talk YourShit, and this letter is perfect

(06:41):
for me because that's all I dois talk my shit and tell the
truth, man.
Listen, if you want to be a partof the show, just write in.
Email me at talk your shit dailyat gmail.com.
That's talk your shit daily atgmail.com.

(07:04):
I'll pull your letter, put it onthe show, give you my honest,
raw, uncut opinion, whether youlike it or not, because that's
what I do.
I don't know how to do it noother way.
You already know what it is.
It's big slick and I'm out.
