We’ve been learning to do more things that fill our cup vs being a “yes man,” giving ourself grace and making big changes and planning new things with Misschif.

Thank you for still being here too!

PS it’s clearly not meant for me to have good audio so forgive for at the end because apparently my mic quit recording and I didn’t know that…

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Welcome to Talkin' Mischief.
Whether you're here for thehustle, the healing, or one of
those holy hell same moments, you're in the right place.
So let's get loud, let's getweird, and let's get into some
mischief, y'all.
Okay, I know I've been kind ofin my day.
Uh there's a lot of moving partsgoing on in my life.

(00:20):
Um, I just bought a house, a lotof personal things going on.
Um, there's just been a lot ofshit that's been going on.
But hey, welcome back to anotherepisode of Talkin' Mischief.
I know I've been doing things alittle bit differently.
Um, I left the dance scene, beenworking primarily at music, at
least trying to.

(00:40):
Uh, there's a lot of things thatI want to do with mischief.
And yeah, so I just want to giveyou guys a little bit of a life
update.
But we're back in the full swingof things, a lot of new projects
coming up, a lot of differentevents coming up uh within the
next year that we are workingon, and I am so excited, so
excited.

(01:01):
Um yeah, this is gonna be likekind of short and kind of like
all over the place because swirlbrain.
And I'm at my son's footballpractice, so I just thought I
would touch base with everybodybecause like I said, we're gonna
try again the full swing ofthings.
Um, so started the podcast anddone some artist interviews,

(01:22):
which I still got more in thequeue.
Uh, but like I said, life hasbeen happening.
I have so much personal thingsgoing on.
Um, and then for the last sixmonths, I've been doing work
with Nashville Palace, withscoreboard, and a few other uh
businesses, and it's been thecoolest thing ever.
I've absolutely loved and adoreddoing working with them and

(01:43):
working with Monica and Kyliehave been so dope.
Like, it's been someadjustments, that's for sure.
They keep me on my toes.
But when I tell y'all, like Ilove working for these companies
and doing things, and it'sopened my eyes a lot more to a
lot of different styles andtrying new things, and I love

(02:05):
it.
Anyways, that's also what's beenan update with me.
Uh, like I said, I bought ahouse a little under two acres,
and I've been really enjoyingthe summertime with my kid.
Um, he is just gonna do year 13,which is holy cow, I have a
teenager, and it's been it wassuch a cool summer.

(02:25):
We we really lived this summer, and let me tell you, we he
learned how to ride horses, dirtbiking, you know, creaking.
We had we spent half over halfthe summer outside.
I'm pretty sure the kid has moreriding hours than me, which is
crazy.
Yeah, it'd be what it'd bethough.
I'm glad.
I'm glad he's enjoying thehobbies that I enjoy.

(02:48):
And now he's to the point wherehe uh he wants to go on trips
with me, my work trips, likedoing stuff um in the music
industry and start learning todo photography things and arts
and stuff.
So if you book a shoot with me,don't be surprised if my kid
comes with me.
Um, if you've been kind ofkeeping tabs, you can see we

(03:11):
just did a whole rebrand of thepodcast.
Uh, thanks to my girl Hope overat City Limit Studio.
And if you ever, ever, ever havethe opportunity to go over
there, a thousand timesrecommend.
Because between the motel room, the saloon, the infinity wall,
the black wall that has afreaking me and a chokehold, uh,

(03:33):
yeah, you you need to do it.
But Home Girl hooked me up withmy dream like branding shoot.
Like I've had this vision ofwhat I wanted.
Uh the talking mischief and thebrands and everything else to
what it should look like or whatI want it to look like.

(03:54):
I've you know, in true nature,Pinterest thing it up, and I
said, hope, this is uh, this iswhat I want to do, and kind of
let your creative freedom andsee what happens.
And she knocked it out of thepark.
So, shout out again to my girlhope.
But yeah, I am um I'm in a verytrying season right now.

(04:21):
Um with shifting my business, life and trying to shift my
business all at the same time, really was like, whoa, what the
fuck are we doing?
And 30 being 30, I realized Ican't deal with emotions the
same way as I used to and justdrown them and bottle them up

(04:41):
and call it a day.
And so that's why we're we'retrying to figure it out.
But I just want to give you alittle inside scoop.
I am trying to switch mischiefinto a complete one-stop shop
for all things an independentartist needs, um, on top of you

(05:01):
know, waiting for approval onour Mischief Revival Fund, which
is a nonprofit that is to helpindependent artists financially,
which is part of what's gonna beplaying into the events and a
bunch of other things.
But my goal is Mischief isworking towards being a one-stop
shop for um independent artists, marketing, media, all the

(05:26):
things.
And I would like to startbooking management, I would like
to be a manager, I would like toturn Mischief work with a PR
company.
Like I I want to turn it into Iknow a dime in a dozen, but a
place that works withindependent artists and helping
them build their careers.
So I I went through this wholespiral.

(05:48):
Some things happened that kindof put me in a frenzy.
Um, it made me question myself-worth as a business owner,
as a photographer.
Um, and I know that there'salways, no matter what you do,
there's always someone betterthan you.
And that's okay because you knowyou have your own style, you
have your own thing, and that'sjust the way the cookie

(06:08):
crumbles.
But I yeah, I went on a reallybad spiral of questioning
myself.
Um, but I'm okay.
Been lacking having a creativeblock lately, and I'm really
dying to do some more creativeshoots.
I don't know.
Life has just been life, butwe're picking it back up.

(06:29):
We are picking it back up.
Um, I'm gonna make a post aboutthis, but one of the things that
I'm really dying to do, um, I'mlooking for one independent
artist who is willing to be likeokay and be my guinea pig.
Um, like letting me help you dosocials, letting me help you
book, uh, do all the things thatI want my business to do.

(06:54):
And like I said, kind of justlet them be my guinea pig, like
and not take completelyeverything over.
Like we would be workingtogether side by side.
But the goal is for me to learn,to figure things out, but also
to help you build at the exactsame time.
Um, yeah.
So if you're listening to this, and now that I've expressed what

(07:16):
I want to do, if anybody has anyadvice, I've asked people in the
industry, I've been talking topeople in the industry, so it's
not like I'm just like, yeah, fuck it, here we go, we ball.
Um, I've been working andtalking with some people in the
industry, and I know it's notgonna be easy.
I know what I want to do.
Uh, there's a million otherpeople out there for me, and
there's a lot of shitty peopleout there.

(07:39):
And yeah, I don't know.
I know this whole episode I'mjust rambling on, but I um yeah,
and for my dancers, if you'relistening to this, uh for the
most part I have chosen to leavethe dancing for many different
reasons.

(08:00):
Um, one, the biggest one thoughis for me to be able to focus on
my business and focus on thethings that I actually want to
do that fill my cup.
Because that is my biggestlesson for 2026 is doing things
that fill my cup.
Because I got to a really badpoint of uh burning out, and I'm

(08:21):
a yes man through and through, which has caused part of that
burnout.
Um there was a lot of movingparts.
I just it wasn't filling my cupanymore.
I am grateful for the community.
Very grateful for the communityand what it's done for me for
the last three, four years.

(08:43):
I mean, I've always loved beingthe dance being a dancer, been
doing it since 2014.
Um I do miss instructing.
I wanna I'm not gonna lie.
I I miss teaching.
Been doing that since 2021 whenthe bars really started opening
back up.
But now I get just to work withartists and combined and still

(09:04):
work with some, you know, mydance friends and I'll still be
at some events, some live thingshappened where I couldn't go to
other events, and it is what itis, out of my control.
Uh which goes back into mypersonal shenanigans that have
been going on.
But dancing is not a priority tome anymore.
It sucks.
I don't even go dancing anymore.

(09:25):
I honestly I think the last timeI actually went dancing might
have been when I had a gig atNashville Palace and I was done
with my gig, so I said screw itonline dance for a little bit
before I go home.
Um Yeah.

(09:46):
Definitely been an adjustment tosay the least.
Uh me also leaving the dancecommunity showed a lot of who
was actually my friend who wasusing me, who was a business
transaction, who was yeah, itjust that one really fucking

(10:11):
stung.
And has been stinging.
And just know, if you think thisis about you, it probably is.
It'd be what it be.
But needless to say, 2026, we'rehalfway through the year, which
I don't know where the fuck 2026went.
If there's anything I can tellyou guys, do things that fill

(10:33):
your cup.
We're not here forever.
And sometimes when things don'tmake sense, sit back and be
like, what the fuck am I doing?
It's the biggest question for mefor the last like year.
What the fuck am I doing?
I can't control this.
Why am I getting worked up?
Why am I getting upset?
I got bigger fish to fry, I gotso much shit that I could be

(10:55):
doing, but I've been lettingthings just cloud my judgment.
So when I get really worked up,I'm like, what the fuck am I
doing?
What are you doing?
Like, come on, girl.
Yeah.
So piece of advice.
Fill your cup.
Oh.

(11:15):
Give yourself grace.
That is another thing that I'vereally, really been learning
this year is to give myselfgrace.
It's it's been hard, it's beenrough.
This has been a reallyinteresting year for me.
Changes good and bad.

(11:36):
But I really just like bitch, give yourself grace.
When I see people acting a fool, give them grace.
Even if it doesn't make senseand I wanna, you know, go off on
somebody.
Nope.
There's been a lot ofself-working this year.
But I'm done with my tangent.

(11:59):
Thank you for still being here.
Um you know an independentartist that would be willing to
be my guinea pig, let me know, because let's do it.
We ha set up a phone call, we doall the things, and then we go
from there.
Uh yeah.
Thanks for still riding out andbeing here with me.
We got some things in the works.

(12:20):
And I can't wait to just do thedamn thing.
Um that's enough.
Talking mischief.
