Today in games, I’ll talk about Street Fighter 6, having played some 90 some hours of it! In news, we'll talk about what you need to know:
- Nintendo has achieved record first-quarter profits, due to the Super Mario Bros Movie being a hit globally, as well as the new Legend of Zelda game selling 18.5 million copies since May.
- *Microsoft and Square Enix* announced collaboration plans during an FFXIV fan festival. They aiming to bring more Square games to Xbox, including Final Fantasy XIV. Historically, Xbox missed out on some big Square Enix releases compared to Sony PlayStation.
- ***Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka*** AOC, streamed some Pico Park, talked about the importance of unions, and the idea of games over golf as an important political medium
- Baldur’s Gate 3 released - Larian Studio’s CEO Swen Vincke talked to Jason Schreier at Bloomberg about the challenges of developing the game, and that they plan to remain private for the time being.
