SPEAKER_00 (01:13):
Today's episode is
inspired by a lot of feedback
that I've gotten recently frompeople who feel overwhelmed when
they look at Google Analytics.
And maybe you can relate.
You open up Google Analytics andyou're like, ooh, I don't know
exactly what I'm looking at.
Or you feel like you're drinkingwater from a fire hose.
(01:36):
Well, if that is you, today'sepisode is for you.
Because the first step when itcomes to improving your
appearance online is gettingfound online.
But knowing what's working isthe win.
So if Google Analytics makes youfeel lost, today I have a simple
(01:59):
fix.
I want you to keep your GoogleAnalytics in place and add
Clicky as your easy real-timedashboard so you can see what's
happening and act fast.
Now, before we dive in, I thinkit's important to note that we
are an affiliate of Clicky.
And this is because we genuinelyuse it and recommend it to
(02:23):
people that we work with.
If you choose to use our link,we may earn commission.
Clicky has both a free plan anda paid plan.
So I suggest that you start withthe free plan and upgrade only
if you need more.
Now, you will find the shownotes and the web page slash
(02:47):
blog post associated with thisepisode.
If you go to that link, you willsee tons of screenshots so that
you can get an idea and a feelfor what the clicky dashboard
looks like.
And you can follow alongvisually.
Welcome to the Clinic MarketingPodcast.
(03:09):
Rankings matter, but decisionsmove the needle.
In this episode, you'll learnwhy I recommend a simple
analytics stack.
Keep Google Analytics as asystem for you to record
everything that's going on yourwebsite, but also layer in
Clicky.
(03:29):
For a clean, easy to understandreal-time view, your team will
actually check.
In today's episode, I'll showyou exactly which numbers to
monitor, how to set up Clicky inminutes, and what to do when
those numbers change.
Again, in the show notes, we'llinclude tons of screenshots and
(03:52):
more to get you started.
Listen, I love Google Analytics.
But the thing with GoogleAnalytics is it is so powerful.
The interface, the terminology, and the report structure can be
overwhelming for some people.
If you hop in for a quickanswer, you end up clicking
(04:13):
around sometimes without findingthe clarity that you need.
And if that sounds familiar toyou, you're not broken.
It's just a complex tool.
Now we are not suggesting thatyou get rid of Google Analytics
by any means.
What we are suggesting is youlayer on an additional resource
(04:34):
that will help you when it comesto looking and seeing what's
happening now, and is easyenough to use so that you don't
feel like you need a training inhow to use an analytics system.
It's a simple dashboard thatwhen you log in, you know
exactly what's going on.
Clicky is a lightweightanalytics tool with real-time
(04:56):
data and a clean interface.
In one glance, you can seetoday's and the last seven days
history of your visitors, yourtop traffic sources.
One thing that I love about thisis you can see directly are they
coming from Google?
Are they coming from emails?
Are they coming from AI sources?
(05:18):
Are they coming from Instagramor Facebook?
This is a little different thanGoogle Analytics, where you have
to click through a number ofthings and then it says they're
coming from social media.
And then from there, you have toinclude parameters to determine
are they coming from Instagramor are they coming from
Facebook?
This just tells you when youlook at the main page.
(05:42):
You also get device mix, you getlocations, and you can set up
goals or actions.
Now, if you're running a websiteand you're a clinic and you have
your booking system in placewhere they click book now on
your website, and technicallythey leave your website to go
(06:02):
book that appointment becauseyou're using a system and that's
just the way it's set up.
You can also view thatinformation through links.
You'll be able to see, okay, they clicked on that link to
leave your website to book theappointment.
So it really makes trackingeasier.
And if you want to visualize aswe're talking through this,
(06:24):
please be sure to open up theepisode's blog and show notes
page where I've included tons ofscreenshots to walk you through
what it looks like when you setup Clicky.
And to be very clear, there's afree version.
So you can get started with thisfree version and see if you feel
like it helps you or your teammembers just by looking at by
(06:51):
looking at a simple, simpledashboard.
So here are some numbers that Isuggest that you look at and
monitor.
These would be your visitors.
Are you trending up or down orflat?
Spikes happen often when they'retied to review burst or you're
doing a marketing push.
(07:13):
You want to look at your topsources.
Usually these are Google, right?
But if you start to see a dipweek over week, whether it's
related to your leads that arecoming in from Google or one of
your social media sources thatyou rely on heavily, you'll want
to look at that and make somedetermination about how to push
(07:36):
up a spike if you feel likethings are going down.
You also want to look at yourtop pages.
Which pages are the most viewed?
And you want to ensure thatthose pages have clear calls to
action.
It's also nice to take a look atdevices to see what percentage
of people are visiting you frommobile versus desktop.
(08:00):
And also location highlights.
Are visitors mostly in yourservice area?
If not, it might be time to sendsome more local signals.
And we have a lot of episodesgeared towards local SEO.
We'll also link a couple ofthose in the show notes.
But be sure to take a look atthat as well, along with your
(08:23):
goals and your actions, theclicks.
What are people doing?
Are they booking an appointmentwhen visiting your website?
We want to keep our benchmarkspractical.
So during an active promotion, you might see a lift, maybe a 5
to 10% lift in your weeklywebsite traffic.
(08:45):
But we also want to see likewhat content is really driving
website traffic.
And you'll be able to see thisat a quick glance by looking at
Clicky.
The setup is easy.
You can just create a Clickyaccount, install the tracking
code, and this comes very easyas a plug-in if you're using
(09:09):
WordPress for other builders.
There are other ways that youcan easily set up Clicky.
And again, you can visit thewebsite by finding out details
for all of those.
And really share the access.
So if you have a front desk oran office manager, have them log
(09:30):
in weekly and see what's goingon with your website traffic.
Simply pick a plan.
Again, you can start with thefree, or if you want more
information, or if you feel likeyou like it after using the free
plan for a couple weeks, you canmove up to one of the paid plan
options.
I do recommend the PayPlans.
(09:51):
They are amazing personally as abusiness.
We use the PayPlan.
I know a ton of other companiesthat use it too and really find
it just easy to use.
I wanted to introduce you tothis tool because I've had a lot
of people ask about GoogleAnalytics, what they should be
looking at, what their numbersshould look like.
My biggest takeaway for thisepisode for you is to visit the
(10:16):
episode show notes and simplyjust give it a try.
Try clicky for a week or two, look at the numbers, and I feel
like you are going to appreciateit.
It's definitely come in handyfor a lot of people that we work
with that feel overwhelmed byGoogle Analytics.
And again, you can look at thescreenshots on the show notes
(10:40):
and set it up, give it a coupleweeks, let me know what you
think.
And if you found this episodehelpful and you want more
information about specifictools, you know, we don't really
dive into specific tools toomuch on these episodes, but if
you feel like this is a valueand you're interested in more
(11:00):
content like this, please let meknow.
And again, visit the show notesand download clicky, give it a
try for a couple weeks and letme know what you think.
