12. Tom Gleeson - A Sketchy Character

Tom Gleeson has been at the face end of a microphone for more than twenty years as one of the country’s best loved stand up comedians. He’s played rowdy RSL’s and filled the Sydney Opera House.

On ABC-TV’s The Weekly, Tom’s segment Hard Chat took aim at everyone from Karl Stephanovic to Sophie Monk, Barnesy, the Proclaimers and Albo. Hard Chat begat Hard Quiz which not only blitzes the ratings into its eighth season but also earned Tom Australian television’s gong of gongs – the Gold Logie, which rubs against his AACTA, ARIA and Helpmann Awards on his very crowded trophy shelf. Hard Quiz is such a success it translates to all ages and languages.

Now Tom has taken his natural disdain for the general public and applied it to his fellow comedians as the host of the new Network Ten series, Taskmaster.
