(00:00):
Well, our guesttoday is Kim Crabill.
Kim, thank you for joining uson the Covenant Eyes
podcast. Absolutely.
Thanks for inviting me.
What are you doing?
I love meeting you.
So thank you.
Well, good looking forwardto this conversation.
Kim, could you just startand just tell us a little bit
about your story,your background
and really what led you toto your life and ministry?

(00:20):
Really?
Well, it's because I felt likea very broken woman.
I had some things happen to meas a young child.
I was basically I was takenfrom one home to another.
And so it was very disturbing.
I didn't understand itat the age of four, but rather
I had a grandfatherthat I was with
as first four years.

(00:41):
And during that time,he was very intentional
in putting God's word in meas a four-year-old can do.
Yeah.
And he would say, now, Kim, always remember,
Jesus loves you.
No matter where you go,Jesus loves you.
If I can't go with you.
Jesus will be there with you.
So that was really those seedsthat he planted.
Took me through a lotof difficult years and times

(01:06):
through early elementary age,you know, into high school,
into college.
And I was always runningfrom the fact that I
had been brokenand I didn't know
what to do with it.
But I also had the truththat Jesus was with me.
And so I finally got to a pointafter a lot of different
things happened in my lifewhere I came to a point,

(01:26):
Rob, where,you know, with women,
if they don't know what to do,they start to do everything.
And when we don'tknow who we are,
we try to please everyone, which is impossible.
And I rememberfinally getting to a place
where I was sitting in my carcrying, and I was going,
okay, Lord, I'm okay, I'm okay.
I was telling everybody.
Am I.

(01:47):
Trying to convince yourself.
Trying to talk to him?
I said, but I heard Godso vividly say to me, Kim,
you are not okay, but you can be.
And so that'swhen I really began
trusting him and allowing himto lead me into a place

(02:07):
where I'm still onand being okay.
But so I take what he gaveme and I try
to give it out to others.
And that's really my ministry.
Oh that's excellent.
Well, the main ministryyou're doing now
is Roses and Rainbows.
Is that correct?
Yes.
When I had a reconciliationwith my mom,
which was really wheremy misdirected anger was,

(02:29):
I'm a Christian counselor now.
I went back towent back to school to try
to figure out myself.
But I realizedthat my misdirected anger toward
my mom had beensince I was a little girl.
Yeah.
And so one of the thingsthat God said to me
when he said, you can't be okaywas to start to forgive.
And so it took a coupleof years for me.

(02:51):
I had a very hard and heart.
No one would have seen it,but the first thing I did was
I sent roses to my momon Valentine's Day of 1992.
Had no idea that one week later, she at the age of 51,
she would be diagnosedwith cancer at the age of 51.
Nine weeks later, she died.
And so after her funeral, there was a
most incredible rainbow.

(03:12):
And so her last words to mewere, don't live like I'm dying.
In other words,be who God wants you to be.
Don't let anything stop you.
And so after that, when I began to invite women in
to help me figure out who I wasand what I was
supposed to be doing, we grew.
Women were like, outgrewmy home.

(03:32):
And I went to my pastor.
I said, what do we do?
And he said, well, let'slet's have
a conference or something.
And he said, but you need a name.
So I named it Roses and Rainbowsafter my mom and her story.
Yeah. Oh that's beautiful.
Beautiful.
Well, can you tell us a littlebit more about what
Roses and Rainbowis doing and helping women?

(03:52):
Well, thank you for asking.
There's a lot ofdifferent components,
quite honestly.
But, you know, God has given, you know, allowed me to write
several books.
We have a TV show, you know,so there are a lot of outlets
that we try to reach people.
But the main messageof all of this was when God
said, you know, you're you're not okay,
but you can be.

(04:13):
I just broken, I didn't show me.
And I beganthis personal journey with him.
It started with Matthew

11 (04:20):
26.
Come to me, those who are wearyand burdened,
I will give you rest.
And in that burden you knowwe know what burdens
burden means.
Rest means reversaland burden in the Greek
means a task in waiting.
And I felt like I was saying,if you will do it my way,

(04:40):
these hurts of your heartcan open up into a ministry.
So I started documentingeverything
that God was shown me,which is now a curriculum
that I use around the worldas a as a steps of biblical
healing your heartso that you can be free to use
what you've been through.
So that's that's my passion.
That's what I love.

(05:01):
You know, seeing God'swork in the hearts of those
who have been hurt, who have been broken,
who maybe made mistakesthat they wish
that if they could go back, they would change it.
But to realize that God doesn'tcondemn us, he's just trying
to change us and to form usmore into his image.
And he wants to useall that. Yeah.
So that's that's my heartbeat.

(05:22):
Okay.
Now you've written, what,seven books?
I have seven bookswith Broad Street,
but altogether I had 26 books.
No kidding.
I've done a lot of work, booksand a lot of things.
And you know what?
It wasn't intentional, Rob.
It was just like a womanwho attended me and say, well,
I need something on my marriageor I need something on,

(05:44):
you know, my latestone is Spiritual Detox,
you know, and so I try to writeaccording to what I see
in the needs of these Burdensof Blessings Conferences.
Yeah.
So, Burden...Burden to Blessingsis one of your books.
And that's. My first.
That was your first that startedall the curriculum
and everything.
That's that's that journeythat that book is really lifted

(06:05):
from my personal journey, you know, my journal of what
God walked me through.
And that was 30 years ago,you know, that
he started that journey.
And I wrote the book,I guess, about 17 years ago,
but we're still using it.
We use it, you know, in prisons.
We use it in churches,we use it in rehabs.
I use it with NFL players lives.

(06:26):
Doesn't matter who you are.
You've got hurtsthat God wants to heal.
Yeah.
And turn it into our ownvoice of hope.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm wonderful.
That's great.
Now, you mentioned you.
You're working on a coupleof new books.
Can you share any of that yet?
Yes.
Well, actually, the twothat I've just actually just
recently releasedand what is called

(06:46):
Always Remember and that goesall the way back to
my grandfatherwhen he was, when I was,
you know, four year old had thisfirst four years with him
and he wouldsay this to me, Rob.
He'd say, Kim, Jesus loves youand I need you to always
remember that, right?
Yeah.
And, you know,so everything he would say,
it was like an exclamationmark, you know, to help me,

(07:08):
kind of embedded in my mind.
He knew.
I think he knew ifif he could put God's
word into my heart,it would be alive and active
and it would work for me.
It worked. It did.
So here I am, thismany years later.
I'm not going to tell youhow many years later.
Yeah, but you talk about that.
But I, I started thinking,I bet there are a lot of people
who have always remembers.

(07:30):
And so I started asking for.
And so we put togethera devotional,
45 friends of myself of things,it's a daily devotional,
of things that are importantfor us to always remember,
and it's really a wayfor us to speak God's
Word into the next generations.
I think at Psalm 145four or verse five, it says,

(07:51):
we are to to speak of his mightyworks, speaking into the
next generation.
So it's a book that startedwith my grandfather
that I have tried to, you know, that I've been trying to learn.
And then I dedicated it tomy granddaughter.
So it's very, very important to me
that that's.
And then the second oneis the Spiritual Detox

(08:13):
I was talking about.
And that was my husband fellfrom a ladder
and he had a lot of rehab to do.
And I will tell you,the first couple of weeks
I was so good,I was doing everything.
And then after a couple of weeksI was like,
I'm not sure I like this,you know?
It's likeI would catch myself just,

(08:34):
you know, not being rudebut clipping, you know.
Like, yeah.
And I felt God condemned me.
He said, no,he did not condemn me.
He did. Yeah.
That's convicting me.
That's what I meant.
To say.
He began to convict me.
And so I went to my husbandand I said, I'm sorry
if he goes, oh my goodness.
You know, theydidn't even know this.
But then I went back toGod and God said, no,

(08:56):
this is not normal.
These are the little foxesthat are going to
ruin your anointing.
And so I began again, realizing that God says,
you know, if you takeall of these things
away from you,you'll be prepared.
My every good work.
So I wrote a fivechapter workbook on how to

(09:16):
spiritually cleanse ourselves.
And so and so.
That was very selfish.
I needed it myself.
It's good.
Good word though.
We need that.
Yeah, it is,because it is the little.
Things it doesand they add up to.
And we just farther, farther away all we get.
Other peoplestart to justify our sins.
Yeah.
But we go to Jesus and hegoes, no, no, no no no no no.

(09:38):
Oh that's excellent.
Well, Kim,tell me to you mentioned
you are a certifiedChristian counselor.
Why?
And how did you get into that?
And what do you do with that?
You know,I realized that I wanted to
really be able to help, and I wanted to
be able to do it, you know, according to God's word.
And and I wanted to behad that certification

(09:59):
just because with my booksand with the TV show,
I just felt likeit was important for me.
I wanted to learn, you know,I wanted to do that.
And so so that's I don'tI did some private practice
for a while, but, you know, the laws have gotten so stiff
and so and I thought, no,I just used that in my,
in our work, in our ministry.
That's excellent.

(10:20):
That's excellent.
Well, good.
Well can we haveso many listeners
that are strugglingwith so many things
that that we deal with and hearabout and talk about?
If you had just a wordto give to those
that might be listening todaythat are really just
struggling with something.
What would that word be?
Well, I would sayyou're not alone.
Number one, the enemy wantsus to feel like

(10:41):
we're the only oneaccording to statistics.
And I think this isa low number.
But according to statistics,80% of the people
in our churches todayare hiding something.
A heart of pain, a brokenness.
And they're so afraid that it'sgoing to be found out
because they feel likethey'll be judged,
criticized and left out.

(11:03):
And that's a sad shame.
So what I would sayis you're not alone.
You know, God knowshe's not condemning.
He he wants you to understand.
Come to him.
You know, come to him.
He really can transform.
But I would say, you know, try to find one person
that you canthat you can talk to

(11:24):
because the healing processis not going to start
until you speak.
That hurt. Yeah.
And when youspeak it in someone,
you'll be surprised.
You're expecting a condemnation,but you're going to get comfort
and love from that person.
So we have to break that.
Yes, we have to break thatthat lie
that we're not going to.
And that's what I dowith every one of
our conferences.

(11:45):
We're going to Floridathis week.
There'll behundreds of ladies there.
And we'll be talkingabout breaking those chains
of shame, guilt and regretto live the life
that Christ died for us to live.
When he died,he said, you are free now.
Go live thatlife of freedom. Yeah.
So I would just sayyou're not alone.
We've all fallenshort of the glory of God.

(12:07):
He loves us unconditionally.
And he's waiting in our hearts,in our pains,
in our mistakes, to to heal us.
He's waiting there for us.
Longing for that healing.
Oh, absolutely.
We talked with so many peoplethat are really
struggling and hurting, and we find so many people
are there.

(12:28):
They're waiting.
They're wanting to get rightbefore they go to God
and take it to God.
But God wants to step rightin the middle of that
mess, doesn't he?
And really justwalk us out of it.
That's the way I was.
I was thinking, okay, if I learnenough scripture,
if I clean up my lifeenough, if I did, you know,
and that and I thought,I thought,
then I'm going to go outand say, today.
I'm gonna. Be here.

(12:49):
Yeah, but God says, no,that's not the way you you.
He did not createus to be alone.
You know, he says it's not goodfor man to be alone.
And I know that's marital,but it's also relational, right?
And so he said that even beforeanyone had ever seen.
That was the first thinghe said about us.
So for us to understandthat we're not alone

(13:10):
and that people will accept us.
And you really can'ttake that journey alone.
You know, you really can't.
God is with you.
But he's created us as people.
And and it really comes tojust trusting someone and just,
you know, and having coffeewith them, having a conversation
like we are, you know, the person you talk to

(13:31):
will feel honoredthat you chose them
and trusted them.
I do believe that.
Yeah, I think so.
Definitely,because it's a long way.
Well, good.
Well, can you guys doseminars around?
We get...They’re called Burdensto Blessings.
Discoverthe power of your story.
Okay.
And I walk them through.
We're in Floridathis coming weekend.

(13:51):
We're in West Virginiathe next weekend. Yeah.
I love.
I mean, there's no placeI won't go.
Yeah, I love itbecause we're all
hurting somewhere.
And so this and wewe have a very
interactive conferencewhere people get involved
and we do someincredible things.
And so we always seeGod at work.
Oh. I always he got it.

(14:12):
Work. Yeah.
And you know, when, when some of the people
will walk up to me and say,I've been holding on
to this for 30 years,I've had one woman
say, I've been holding onto this for 47 years.
That's a long time to hold on tosomething that Jesus died
for you to walk. Away from.
The enemy has us so convincedthat God is going to smack us.

(14:34):
And you know, the world isit's just it's just lies.
It is. It is. Absolutely.
Well, that's got that has tobe very rewarding to see
those people come forwardand just yes, let some of that
those burdens go.
It is the best thing.
Other than being a grandma.
Yeah.
I know it's it's just so amazingto see what God can do

(14:57):
in a short amount of time.
Yeah.
You know, and, and we,we have these ways
that they can, share their burden without
anyone knowing is theirs.
Yeah.
So that they can see howother people respond to it.
And then that gives themthe freedom to say before long.
Yeah, well, that one was mine. Yeah.
And because they understandthey're going to

(15:18):
be loved on and acceptedand someone's going to walk
with them to their healing.
That's that's so true.
We see that so much with thethe pornography issue
once somebody shares.
I've had this burden.
Here's what I've done,what God has done.
And all of a suddenthe floodgates open in.
People just startsharing, releasing that.

(15:38):
And that's what it takes.
Yes, really.
That's really what it takes.
One personbeing bold enough to say,
this is what this.
This is my heart.
This is my sinor this is my addiction.
And then all of a suddenpeople go, oh my gosh,
you too. Yeah.
You know.
In that freedom.
It's an immediate connection.
And and that's, that'swhat the body of Christ

(15:59):
really needs.
That's that's the healingI think we need.
Yeah, I think we're areso stressing out.
The people in our churchesworking, working, working.
And I think that we need to healand then let them work
from that healing.
Yeah. You know.
So and we but we need connectionto do that.
That's that's the key.
You have to starta conversation.

(16:20):
That's why my,my show is called coffee.
Coffee stands for conversationsof friends of faith
to encourage and equip.
Oh. That's wonderful.
Oh. God, I can't tell you.
I can'ttake the credit for that.
No, no, no, that's that's great.
Well, Kim,where would our listeners
connect with youand find out more
about your ministries, your books, all of that?
Sure.

(16:40):
They can justgo to KimCrabill.org.
Kim, I made itreally, really easy.
For a long time, we wereusing the ministry name
Roses and Rainbows, and nobody can remember that.
If you don't know the story.
So we just switched itto KimCrabill.org
so you can go there.
You know, weI think we might be booked
for most of this year, but I do the,
the day conferences.

(17:01):
I do, you know, smalleryou know, speaking engagements.
But my heart is always about, you know, that inner
discovering the powerof your story, what God has.
You know, maybe what the enemymeant for evil.
God means for good.
And always say,if it's not good,
God's not finished, right?
Absolutely.
Yeah, absolutely.
Great.
Well, we'll put thatin the show notes.

(17:22):
And so for our listenerswill be able to find that
and find that information.
