Hey, hey, hey. Who fans andwelcome to the big Blue Box Podcast.
My name's Garry.
My name's Harry.
My name's Matt.
And I'm Maria.
And welcome to the February Roundtable!
Woohoo.

(00:47):
Welcome back to anotherroundtable. Who fans, it's good to
have you here. We hope you arekeeping well and safe and that you've
all managed to do somethingrelated. You're all late, you're
all slow tonight.

(01:07):
Fashionably late.
It's to be expected. It's humpday. It's Wednesday. You guys are
chilling out. Yeah. Should wedo a round table? No, not really,
Garry. Chilling out. But I'llcome on if you need. Oh, go on then.
Go on then. I'm joined by, asyou've heard in the intro, Harry,
Matt, Maria and four, theFebruary Roundtable, the month of

(01:30):
love. Of love. We're going todo some romantic chat here on the
old. On the blue box.Essentially we're going to give you
some. What would we do? Whatwould happen if a companion from
Doctor who said, Harry, Mariaor Matt or Garry, I want to go out

(01:53):
on a date? Sure. Who do wethink would be the ideal candidate?
Who do we. Who do we want towine and dine some flowers, have
a romantic evening with thoseof us with better halves? Tread carefully.
I will say that up front. Becareful. We're gonna do that. And

(02:15):
then what sort of romanticfood will we cook? And then we're
finish up with what we thinkis our most romantic Doctor who episodes
slash stories. So we'll getonto that. It sounds like a fun one.
Actually. I've had a littlethought about some of this stuff.
Not too much. I know my wifelistens, so I haven't thought about
it too much. Don't worry, it'sall good. Just the odd little thought
here and there. Yeah, a fewtimes a day. So my name's Garry.

(02:40):
Of course, you know me fromthe podcast for years and years.
Don't need to introducemyself, but I will go through these
guys. Mr. Harry, how have youbeen? Good, sir.
I have been good, thank you,Garry. There isn't really much to
report in the way of Doctorwho related stuff. It's been very
chill. Been continuing mymarathon of the Jodie Whittaker era

(03:03):
and I'm still really enjoyingit. I'm about halfway through series
12. We just watched theepisode where the fugitive Doctor
is released. Gotta say, eventhough she didn't have that much
screen time, I'm. I'mintrigued by the characterization
and it's kind of made me. It'skind of made me want to listen to
the big finish which has justcome out. So I might give that a

(03:27):
listen at some point because, yeah, it's such a shame. Jo Martin
like has so much energy onscreen. She seems to have so much
potential as that character, but she's just kind of. She's in
there and then she's out thedoor and it's. Yeah, it's very strange.
It's very bizarre that theydid that but. But yeah, I, that happened.

(03:48):
Apart from that, I've actuallybeen watching a lot of Blake 7 watching
it along with your guyspodcast and both the podcast and
the show. I'm really enjoyingthem. Really is a banger of a show.
It's really, really good andI'm loving watching it like week
on week as it was sort ofintended to be watched as you. You

(04:11):
said similar sentiments on thepodcast. So yeah, Blake 7 is really,
really good. So that's kind ofwhat I've been up to sort of geekery
wise in my life recently. It'sbeen good.
Nice. And you're looking wellas well. Very nice.
Oh, thank you very much.
Good.
Yeah, it is, it is the, theromantic month.
It is, yes. Blake 7. Maria'smost hated sci fi show. She can't

(04:37):
stand Blake 7. Told me that afew times. Shakes it. Little shameless
plug. Blake 7 FederationStrike is the other podcast that
we do. Go and check it out ifyou want to get your Blake 7 fix.
Excuse me. You're loving doingthat show. Very, very cool. Matt,
how have you been? Your bugger.
Hello. Yes, very well, thankyou, Garry. Great to be back on here

(04:59):
every month as usual. Haven'treally done that much who related
stuff. I think it's just beensuch a busy month and it's sort of
flown by really. But a coupleitems I did get to do was the first
two issues of the Dalekmagazine. So I finally. They've.

(05:20):
They've been here a good monthand a half, but I finally got round
to doing them. It's brilliant. It's really good fun.
It's bloody brilliant.
It's brilliant. But no, it'sgreat fun. First issue and the second
issue make up the ice stalkfor the Dalek, which is surprisingly.

(05:43):
Give us a look.
Which is.
He's got it in his hand. Stilllook brilliant.
And it does.
You can't see this listenerbut it looks bloody great.
It's, it's, it's high quality, which like you say it very much should
be for the price, but it'sall, you know, brushed aluminium
and metal and high quality PVCand that sort of thing. And, you

(06:08):
know, you have to. You've gota. Wires and a circuit board and
everything that goes with itthat you need to put together step
by step, which is great fun todo and chill with, you know, a big
finish on in the background. Ihave just had delivery of the next

(06:28):
four, which after this I'mprobably going to do the next one.
They're just. They're justgreat fun to do. I'm really, really
enjoying them. But if peoplewant to, I don't know, only have
an eyestalk just to see whatit's like, that I can say that the
first two issues do make aworking eyestalk. So you can actually

(06:49):
just have the eyestalk if youwish, because it is very expensive.
But they have made it so itdoes work. It's not like it doesn't
work until the end, which Ithought was cool. But aside from
that, no, I've. I've actuallynot done anything else Doctor who
related at all. Actually, notDoctor who related, but I'm seriously

(07:10):
getting into reading a lot ofStephen King at the minute, which
has taken up most of my time. But it's slightly time travelly because
I'm reading one at the moment,1122 63. And if you've read it, I'm
about halfway through it. It'samazing, but it is, it's a time travel,
Stephen King like, mega bookand it is very, very good. His interpretation

(07:34):
of time travel is completelydifferent to Doctor who, but just
as interesting. And it's.Yeah, it's well worth a read. I've
gone through about half thebook and the book is like a thousand
pages or whatever in a matterof days. It's. It's brilliant.
Wow. Sounds good, dude.Listen, you can't see the. The eye

(07:57):
stalk that, that Matt isshowing, but it looks very cool.
Nice. And he doesn't waste hisevenings either, straight in building
that stuff. Very good. Niceone, dude. Maria, come on. Hello.
What are you up to?

(08:19):
And I love Blake 7. She doesn't.
She doesn't.
I. I do, I do. And I'mfollowing very closely your podcast.
So, yeah, thank you very muchfor that because you're encouraging
me to go back and actuallywatch those episodes again, which
I haven't seen for a longwhile. So, yeah, thanks for that.

(08:41):
What have I done that's Doctorwho related? There was a couple of
events I went to. The mostrecent one was the Dewass event that
was held at The RiversideStudios. It was their projections
in time events that they dowhere they look at a classic serial

(09:03):
and bring on guests andthere's a live Q and A. So I went
to see Vengeance on Varros atRiverside Studios and they had some
interesting guests there. I'mdoing a write up of about it, but
unfortunately Nabil Shabanwasn't. Well, so he wasn't there.

(09:24):
But we did have Colin Bakerand Nicola Bryant. I mean, they always
come as a double act, don'tthey? So they're always a lot of
fun. And there was some otherguests that were in Vengeance on
Varro. So there was an actorcalled Stephen Yardley, who I remember
actually from Howard's Way,which was this big kind of glossy

(09:46):
1980s series about the sailingcommunity. I think it was down in
Jordan's Way, kind ofPortsmouth way, I think. But, yeah,
he was there. There was alsoGeraldine Alexander, who was a Rhettor.
There was also Sophie Neville, who was an assistant floor manager.

(10:07):
She was very entertaining, actually. She was very. She was very,
very good. So there was a goodselection of guests on for that day.
And I do recommend coming tothese events. They do tend to split
the episodes. So you'll seemaybe part one of the story. There's
then a Q and A, an opportunityfor photographs, and then they'll

(10:31):
show the second episode andthen there's an opportunity for autographs.
So it's quite a long. Quite along day, but very worthwhile when
you consider how much you'repaying. And the photographs are not
that expensive either. So thatwas a good event. And then I was
at the BFI recently with yourgood self and Adam to see the Spearhead

(10:56):
in Space screening. And, youknow, it was a lot of fun actually,
seeing that on the big screen.I mean, Spearhead from Space is obviously
quite iconic as the first JohnPertwee story. And I actually really
enjoyed it. I kind of. I kindof forgot how much it goes into the

(11:20):
characterization. You know, ittakes quite a long time to actually.
Because the bit you'reobviously waiting for is the bit
with the shop. With the shopdummies. But that doesn't actually
happen until episode four. Butthere's a lot of build up in between.
But it's fascinating seeing iton the big screen. I mean, it looked
fantastic, to be fair.

(11:40):
It did, yeah.
And, you know, it always kindof reminds me of kind of. It is really
very 1970s and, you know, it'svery much. It reminds me of kind
of being very, very young andkind of. I mean, I I didn't see it
first time around, but it isvery of its time in that way. I mean,
you've got those bigtelephones that they've got on the

(12:02):
desks and, you know, andyou've got that infirmary type hospital.
You know, it's very, very ofits time, but there's a real charm
about it. So. Yeah, so thatwas a lot of fun. And obviously there
were guests from. From Serialas well. I can't remember who it

(12:23):
was now, to be fair, but thatwas a really enjoyable event. I did
enjoy going to that as well. Iwatched a Tom Baker story the other
night. I hadn't actually seenit before. This is the last Tom Baker
that I hadn't seen, which wasthe Mask of Mandragora.

(12:44):
Mandragora? You've not seenthat before?
No, I hadn't actually.
Get out of Town.
You know, I'm kind of. I'veseen every other story now because
I. I knew there was a few thatwere kind of missing, but that was
the last one. And I thinkbecause it was a historical. I kind
of. You know, sometimes youhave to be in the right mood to watch
that. But I actually reallyenjoyed it. I thought it was a really

(13:07):
good story. It has some reallygood supporting characters in it.
It's not one that I hear kindof talked about very much, but I
actually really enjoyed it.And it's filmed in. Where is it?
Port. Port Marion, where theydid the Prisoner as well. So, yeah,
it looked beautiful. I mean, considering, you know, it was filmed

(13:27):
in the uk. It looked fantastic.
I can't believe you've notseen that one.
No, it was the only one that Ihadn't seen and I just really felt
in the mood for Tom Baker. Andit's really. It's really interesting
when you haven't seen a storyand then you see Tom Baker and he's

(13:48):
just. He's just flying. He'sjust flying through his stories.
Literally. Literally, he'sflying. And I actually thought. I
do actually prefer, I think,season 14 to season 13. I know everyone
goes on about season 13 andthe Gothic horror in it, but I actually
prefer season 14 in terms ofthe mix of stories, I think. Yeah.

(14:13):
I mean, it was reallyfascinating to see him because he's
really cemented himself in therole, really, at this point. You
know, there's a real kind ofgrounding of his character. I think
it's fascinating. Yeah. But.Yeah, so that's what I've done since

(14:34):
we last. Since we last didthe. The Round Table.
Wow. I apologize, Listener. You assumed that I'd rounded up the.
Experts and everyone'sfreezing on Doctor who.
Clearly we have an amateur inour midfield.
Yeah.

(14:55):
Here we go, the backlash.
Remind me, remind me next timeI see you in person, Garry, to. To
really repay some of thethings you're saying at the moment.
She's gonna bring the baseballback, Garry. Yeah, she's gonna bring
it along with her.
I just, of course, love Maria. She's really cool. A really cool

(15:18):
working title, which theyshould have gone for for this story,
I thought was the Catacombs ofDeath. I thought that had a way better
sort of sense of weight. And,you know, the stakes were higher.
With the Mask of Mandragora.
I thought it was Mandragora.Mandragora. I thought it was. Is
it Mandragora?

(15:39):
I thought it was Mandragora. Iremember Tom Baker said Mandragora.
Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're probably right. As I said,
the Experts are coming up slimon the podcast this month. But anyway,
nice one, Maria, and it waslovely to see you.
I'm very shocked. I'm very shocked.

(16:02):
It's all good. Talking ofevents before we get on to the crux
of the episode, before we canrelease Matt so we can go build his
Dalek stuff. Itching to go anddo all that stuff. A little plug.
We've done this in the lastcouple of episodes leading up to
this one, the Capital Cutawayevent in London in a couple of months

(16:22):
time. It's coming round thecorner pretty swift. So the DWAs,
the doctor who AppreciationSociety, they do a couple of events.
Well, I think they do a few,but a couple of big ones they do.
I think it's just calledCapital, isn't it? Which they do
near Gatwick Airport, I thinkis their main one. But then there's

(16:43):
this other one called CapitalCutaway. It's on Sunday 6th April.
There'll be a link in the shownotes. There's still tickets available
and they've announced a bunchof guests since we last spoke as
well. Before this recording, Ithink it was just Peter Davison,
Susan Twist and somebody else. But now it is Peter Davison, Joe

(17:05):
Martin, Peter Purvis, GemmaRedgrave, Sarah Sutton, Susan Twist,
Steph Diwali. Steph Diwally. She was in the Christmas special,
right? She was the woman inthe hotel. Yeah. And then we got
some behind the scenes peopleas well, guys who were like working
the cameras back in the olddays. Some production people, Peter

(17:28):
Straker from the Classic yearsas well. And Simon Slater. Yeah,
so. And they've got moreguests being announced over the next
month as well, so a whole slewof people will be there and it will
be a good chance for you to.To come to a really cool London event
that won't break the bank. It's only a one day. Very, very cool.
And you get to meet us aswell. So that's a Brucie bonus. Yep.

(17:56):
We're all lovely. We're alllovely, I assure you.
Yeah, yeah.
Just don't say anything badabout Classic who Was Maria give
you a box?
Maria will give you abackhander. Yeah, yeah.
We'll have a stern discussion.Oh, you know, if. If anyone's mean
about Classic who.
Yeah, yeah. Just tell Mariathat the worst character in all of

(18:17):
who is is Tegan. And Classicwho is just shit. Just absolutely
rubbish. And Sheila, she'llbuy you a drink, I'm sure.
What did you say about Tegan?I didn't.
I didn't say anything. Good.
Excellent.
Nothing at all. Right. Withall that being said and out the way,

(18:39):
let's talk love. Love is inthe air. There we go. So hopefully,
if you are. To the people whoare listening, who are single, I'm
very sorry, but those of youthat do have better halves, then
make sure they listen as well. And they might agree with you, they

(19:01):
might disagree with you onwhat your. Your. Our picks are. You
might have your own pick. Whydon't you let us know over on the
old Big Blue Box Twitter? Justdo a find us on there at Big Blue
Box Pcast. We couldn't fit itall in on Twitter. We're on Blue
sky as well. Big Blue Boxpodcast. Let us know what you think
and what your romantic pickswould be. So let's kick off with.

(19:24):
He's gonna go first. So thisquestion is gonna be, which companion
would you love to go on a datewith? And it has to be a romantic
date. It's not a forced blinddate where you just. Or a speed date
where it's like 30 seconds.Yep, I like you. No, I don't like
you. Okay, bye. It's a properdate. So Matt. Matt's up first. Your

(19:47):
companion. Who would you loveto go on a date with.
Graham.
That was a bit less real.
I mean, there's. There's noboundaries here, Matt. You know,

(20:08):
we're all friends, so crackon, buddy. Why Graham?
No, it's not Graham. But I didthink if I were to. If I were to
bring him dinner, I wouldbring him a Cheese and pickle sarnie.
And then we'd get on like ahouse on fire. But. But I'd actually
take River Song on a date.

(20:30):
Older woman. Okay, okay.
Majoratively to use her vortexmanipulator. But no, I mean, how.
How fascinating would it be tosit down and have dinner with the
woman who has met every Doctorpretty much, you know, has been on

(20:54):
probably as many or closeenough to adventures with the Doctor
as the Doctor has, you know, over the years. She's. She can go
anywhere, any place, anytime. And that would come in great handy.
Like you think of places to gofor a date and you're thinking, oh,

(21:16):
I'll just, you know, pop downthe chip shop or we'll go to a restaurant
or we'll go cinema. No, no,no, no, no, no. Come on. We could
go and have a picnic with thedinosaurs or we could go to Raxacorica
Fallabator. Wherever.
Very. I see what you didthere. Very nice. You practiced that
one.
Actually, I did have itwritten down because I thought about

(21:37):
it earlier.
Very nice. Dude. Like it?
Yeah.
Okay. I thought, I thoughtthis was going to turn into a bit
of a, like, you know, back inthe day when you're in high school
and it's just silly, likedating silly nonsense like you're
my girlfriend job, you know, sometimes it's like you really fancy

(21:58):
the friend so you just go outwith her so you can get info on the
friend and like, what's yourfriend up to? And all that stuff.
I thought you're gonna begoing down those road like, okay,
yeah. River Song youg know, you're pretty cool and everything,
but when's the last time yousaw the Doctor? Because I think.
Yeah. Or Maria. Yeah, yeah.Okay. River Song older woman. Okay,

(22:18):
yeah, but you, you turned itaround though. Nice little picnic
somewhere, whatever.
Yeah. Or, or I think, youknow, to match River's hair, maybe
a spaghetti bolognese. Youknow, classic, classic meal with
a nice red wine.
Okay. Actually, this brings uson to the other question, doesn't
it? What would you cook? Whatwould you cook on the date? This

(22:41):
is on the proviso that thingshave gone well so far and you've
invited her over. Yeah, datenumber four. Whatever. What you cooking?
Yeah, well, yeah, I think. Ithink a nice. I don't know really.
I think, yeah, a picnic or,or, or actually a nice spaghetti

(23:04):
bolognese, because I do likethat. But. Oh God, at this stage
she's probably used her vortexmanipulator to like blip out of existence
at this point.
Oh, no, she wouldn't.
I'd be stuck with Graham, wouldn't I? Which is. No, it's no
downgrade, really.

(23:24):
Gee, songs bailed. Let's gofor a pint.
Exactly.
Yeah.
All right. The chase is on.
Yeah, the chase is on. Okay,Matt, that sounds pretty cool.
Pop on the bus.
I completely 100 expected youto go with spaghetti bolognese. It's
like every guys go to. Oh, my.Matt's really lovely. Does he cook?

(23:48):
Yeah. What does he cook?Spaghetti bolognese. Of course he
does.
You've been speaking to my messes.
Literally, just fry, mince, boil spaghetti and add in sauce.
Oh, you literally can't getit. Really? Okay, well, an insightful
one to kick off with then.River Song and Spag bowl. Nice, Harry.

(24:15):
Same questions. Over to you, buddy.
Yes. I gotta say, theredoesn't really seem to be that much
good choice.
Come off.
Well, I mean, you know, they're either like moaning about
getting to the airport orthey're in a parallel universe or.

(24:35):
Sorry, Maria. Maria's face.Oh, God, she's gonna give me such
a slap.
The saddest. The saddest. But,yeah, so the only real obvious choice
for me is. I don't know whatyou guys are gonna think of this.
Ian Chesterton. Ian Chessington.

(24:57):
I knew you were gonna say him.
Bear in mind, Harry, that thisis meant to be a romantic dates.
I mean, yeah, yeah.
I mean, I don't normally swingthat way, but, you know, he's a handsome
fella. So I'll tell you what,I'll tell you what I'd do, you know,
presumably he's, you know, himand Barbara are on the rocks and

(25:18):
he's feeling a bit upset aboutit. So I say, come on, Ian, come
around my house. I'll. I'll,I'll make you a nice meal and yeah,
we'll have a good time. Andhonestly, I think it'd be great to
have a chat with him. I'd belike, okay, where did you learn kung
fu? And why are you a scienceteacher? Because I would love to
know. And yeah, I gave himsome really nice wine, you know,

(25:43):
some really expensive stuff. Not the cheap kind, because, you
know, he deserves better thanthat. And I would cook for him one
of my signature dishes. I'mnot that great at cooking. I can
do a spag bowl really, reallygood. But when I'm putting in the
extra effort, if I want toimpress someone would make them a
chicken and chorizo paella.Let me tell you, I don't Want to

(26:05):
toot my own horn or anything, but I would buy that in a restaurant.
Like, I like it that much, andI'm not that great a cook, you know,
but I cook that. I cook a meanpaella, so I would definitely make
that for him. And, yeah, Ijust think he'd be interested. He
would be interesting to talkto, and he would. It would be. Out
of all of them. It would belike, oh, my God, like, I'm talking

(26:25):
to Ian. Like, I'm, you know, hearing about his life story. I'd
be fascinated to hear about, you know, where he, like, his life
leading up to him becoming, like, you know, a school teacher
and then traveling with theDoctor. So, yeah.
Okay. Not much action going onso far. We've got a chat with Ian

(26:50):
and we've got River Songbuggering off with the manipulate.
Okay.
If the sparks fly, the sparks fly.
Well, they clearly haven'tyet. Well, we don't know how Harry's
date finishes up. I mean,we'll see. See how good the paella

(27:12):
is.
Hey, he might get a phone callfrom Barbara afterwards, though,
and go straight back.
Okay.
Disappointing. I wouldn't. Iwouldn't put it past him. He seems
like. He seems like that kindof fella, old Ian.
Okay. Very, very safe. So far, guys, we've played it very safe.
I read you. For obviousreasons, this is a PG podcast. Yeah.

(27:36):
No more Maria. This could getugly. Over to you.
So I was kind of thinkingabout this, and I'm thinking in terms
of, okay, what would I. If itwas a romantic date? So basically,
if I'm going on looks, I wouldprobably go for maybe Ben Jackson

(28:02):
or maybe even Turlo. But thenI think with Turlow, I'd probably
get. He wouldn't know how totreat a lady, so probably not Turlow.
I was thinking about this toomuch, probably. That's. That's the
problem. I think Ben would bea good laugh, actually. So if I was

(28:25):
thinking, I'm going to expandthis and say who I would. Who I would
snog, who I'd marry and who I'd.
Who I'd avoid, I knew Mariawould bring the bacon. Right, here
we go.
I love how in depth you'vegone to this.
Yes, yes.
Sorry, I've been thinkingabout this too much. Okay, so I would

(28:45):
avoid Adric because I think,you know, he's a bit. He's a bit
young and immature. I mean,you know, I think he's a sweet boy,
but he's not for me.
And he's dead.
Yeah, there is. That's bigissue, isn't it, really? Yeah.

(29:09):
Setback.
I mean, you know, I supposethe Doctor could have rescued him,
but, you know, he, he justdecided not to, so, you know, we
can't do anything about that.Who would I snog? Actually, I would
snog probably. Oh, HarrySullivan at a pinch, I think. Although

(29:33):
he's a bit of a chauvinist, somaybe Ben Jackson. Actually, I'd
probably snog Ben Jackson because.
He'S a London boy, isn't it?
Bringing me to my, my actualchoice. I'm really disappointed that
Harry actually picked IanChesterton because I think in terms
of how I'd like to be treatedand who I think would treat me as

(29:56):
a lady, I think it would beIan. You know, he's, he's handsome,
he's dashing, he's veryprotective of.
I'll fight you for him, Maria.
Oh, dear.
I tell you what, let's dopaper, rock, scissors.

(30:16):
Ian's got a busy week lined up.
And, hey, I would, I would, Ithink I would definitely go for Ian,
to be honest. I. I think he'sa, he's a gentleman, you know, he's,
as I say, he's brave, he's aknight of jaffa. He knows how to,

(30:37):
you know, he took care ofBarbara and I wouldn't want to, I
wouldn't want to necessarilysteal him off Barbara, but I would
like to go on a romantic datewith him. What would I cook for him?
I think, I think he's a steakand chips man myself. So, yeah, I

(30:58):
think a good steak, a reallydecent piece of sirloin, probably.
No, or ribeye. Rib. Ey isbeautiful. So ribeye or fill it and
some chunk and some chunkychips and I don't know if he's a
red wine man, that would bethe only issue because I like a good

(31:21):
red wine. So I think he's abeer man, so I get him a decent beer.
I know there's lots of reallygood, good ones out there, so I think
it would be, it would be thatand then for pudding, because we
have to have a pudding, youknow, not that I'm food obsessed
or anything, but it would be,it. Do you remember, though you probably

(31:44):
don't remember these, but whenI was growing up, there used to be
a pudding that, that used tobe called self saucing. So basically
when you made it, the spongewould rise to the top and then underneath
you'd have this like reallynice kind of sauce underneath. So
I would make a St. Clement'spudding. So because he's a, he's

(32:05):
a knight of Jaffa, I would gofor an orange pudding, an orange
sponge pudding as a dessert. Ithink he'd be mine after that. Basically,
you know, I'd have, I'd haveto lay a kiss on him at that point.
The suspense is killing me.
I was going to say this. She'seither doing this on purpose for
intended suspense or no, herwi fi has failed her at the most

(32:29):
inappropriate time.
Oh no, go back.
You're going to make him a St.Clement's pudding because he's a
knight of the. Of Jaffa. Oh God.
Oh no.
Oh God.
Why does this always happen tome at the most inappropriate time?

(32:54):
Yeah. Oh, you're back now though.
Okay, so I can't rememberwhere I got up to.
So just Clement's puddingbecause of knights of the Jarfa.
Yeah, he's a knight of Jaffa. So it would have to be a St. Clement's
pudding, a self sourcing one.So with custard and I think at that

(33:20):
point I'd have to, I'd have tolay a kiss on him. I think I'd have
to.
You're gonna go in for it. Okay.
I would, yeah.
Definitely more than Harry did.
I tell you, I'll tell you whatwould happen at the end of the day.
I'd. After we had the maincourse, I would present to him a
box of Jaffa Cakes and he'd belike, what's the meaning of this,

(33:41):
Harry? And I'll go, you know, because you're a Night of Jaffa.
Do you get what I'm saying?Come on, Ian.
Then he'd realize he can't putup with that sense of humor and then
he'd Jeff off.
Okay, so. Oh God. So Harrywould date Ian seemingly for no romance

(34:08):
whatsoever, just to get theinside scoop on, on everything else
that he knows about Dr. Who.Matt would go on a date with River
Song. Similar reasons. Mariawould go on a date with Ian. I think
from what she's saying to, toplant one on him and just say, right,

(34:31):
There you go, 100 date. You'vehad your kiss, now get out. Yeah,
my cup of tea and hot waterbottles waiting. I read you. Read
you. I could be wrong in that,Maria, unless you want to elaborate
on any upcoming. Would youlike a second date do you reckon

(34:53):
or is this like a one anddone? It's been nice, Ian, but you
know, gotta go.
Well, I mean, I think hisheart probably belongs with Barbara.
Really doesn't it? I mean,realistically. But if she wasn't
around, you know, I'llhappily. I'll happily sit in that
space. I would go for a seconddate if he asked me.

(35:17):
Oh, okay, right. So initiallyyou were worried about her indoors,
but if he instigated, youknow, a bit more. A bit more time,
then you'd be up. Okay. We'relearning lots of things about Maria
tonight, aren't we, Seven?

(35:37):
We could. We could have acompetition. Whoever Ian likes more,
they obviously get to be withIan. And the other one gets to be
with Ian from the PeterCushion movie. Not a bad deal. You're
a winner either way.
True. Yep, we could do that.
Although the one from thePeter Cushion movie, he's a bit of
a. He's a bit of a loser, butI don't know why they made. They

(36:00):
made him such a wimp in. Inthe movie when Ian is, like, the
most badass character ever. That really miffed me, but what can
you do?
It's Doctor who adjacent.Don't worry about it. So essentially,
one of you two is gonna end upwith loser Ian. Oh, God. Fair enough.
Matt's sitting pretty. Matt'slike, sod all of you. And with. And

(36:22):
with River Song, we could share.
You know, alternate days. Wecould share, I suppose.
No, I'm keeping River Song for myself.
Yeah, don't let River Songnear Ian, because you know she'd
probably try and seduce him, don't you?
Oh, she'll corrupt Ian. Ian'ssuch a gentleman. She'll corrupt

(36:44):
him in. In a matter of days.
Yeah, she come on with all thecharm, wouldn't she? Hello, sweetie.
Big smile, busty. And it'd begame over. Game over for Ian straight
away. Barbara would have theump. Maria would have the ump.
Harry would have the ump.
Don't know about Harry havingthe ump.
I don't know.
Yeah, all right, good. Thatwas very entertaining. And we've

(37:10):
learned a few things about ourco hosts this evening. Moving on
to the final bit.
Garry, you haven't said yourchoice, or have you?
No, no time. No time for thaton. On the podcast. Yes. No, I'm
joking. I would probably gofor. Let's do the thing. Let's do

(37:34):
the thing. What Bria did thesnog. Avoid. Whatever. I would say
I would avoid. I would avoid.This is a tough one. I think I'm
going to say I would avoidTegan, much to the chagrin of Maria,

(37:59):
but I think I would avoid her.Not because I don't Think she's cool,
but I think just after alittle while, that voice would just
go through my head like. Likea gun going off, you know? So I think
she's. Yeah. Who is. Is itJanet Fielding? No. Do you place

(38:20):
Tegan?
Yeah. This Janet Field? Yeah.
I think out of character. She's absolutely brilliant. Very
funny.
It's really funny, isn't it? Ithink Tegan really polarizes people,
doesn't she? Yeah. I thinkshe's definitely got her supporters
and definitely other peoplethat want to avoid her. I get it,
I get it.
Yeah. I think Janet Field andI could spend all day with her. Absolutely.

(38:45):
Go on a date with her. She'dbe very cool. But Tegan, the character.
Yeah. I'd avoid. I think snog.I think it's gonna have to be. It's
gonna have to be freema. Ithink I just snogged the bloody face
off of her for like threehours. My wife.

(39:05):
That's a good choice.
Yeah. And what was the otherone? Marry. No. Kill. No. What's
the other one?
Marry.
Marry.
Although that might not count, you know.
Yeah. Mary. It'd have to besomeone who could make a banging
sandwich, who would make agreat sandwich.
Graham.

(39:26):
No, Graham make an awful. He'sa one trick pony. He makes a cheese
and pickle sandwich and that'sit. I think I'm gonna go with. For
the Mary one. Excuse me.Trying to think of a good. Okay,
classic. I don't want to keepgoing modern. Who all the time. I'm

(39:50):
gonna say Donna Noble tomarry. I'm gonna go with Donna because
I think, for a few reasons, Ithink she would make a great sandwich
and I think she'd be a bloodygood laugh as well. You know, I think
there'd be the odd thing whereshe striked as a sort of person that
initially, would you take sometime to get your head around, like,

(40:12):
you're indoors, you finishwork, you're making a cup of tea.
But for a while, it'd be thatweird thing where you have no idea
what mood's coming through thedoor. Like, is she going to be all
right? Is she going to be afreaking nightmare? Because she's
been stuck in traffic andshe's in a bad mood. You're going
to get it in the neck becauseyou're the only person there. But
then you kind of iron thatstuff out as you go along and you.

(40:34):
You get to know. So I think, yeah, Donna Nova would be wifey material.
That's a good choice becauseyou'd have Wilf as your father in
law.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my God. That's. That's agood choice.
Could go up the hill withWilson. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway,

(40:55):
that's me, right? Moving on.Let's pick our most romantic Doctor
who episode slash story. You've got 60 plus years to pick
from, so don't give me thoseblank faces like, I don't know. I
don't know. I thought aboutit, but I seriously don't know. And

(41:15):
you can't. Please don't gowith the obvious one, guys, come
on. Don't go with the obviousone. We all know the obvious one.
What's the obvious one?
Don't we? Why is the weddingof River Song. Come on.
Oh, no.
Oh, I wouldn't have thoughtthat was the obvious one.
What would you say is theobvious one?
Well, I don't want to say itjust in case I want to go for it.

(41:36):
All right then, Matt, youfirst with not the obvious choice.
What gives you the romantic feels?
I'll tell you a. I'll tell you.
A story, Garry, about when Iused to watch Doctor who.

(42:01):
Once Upon a Time in the 2013era. I was sitting on the sofa watching
my favorite show when Blakeseven. I actually haven't seen Blake
seven yet. I'm waiting to getthe Blu ray, same as Maria, and then

(42:23):
I'm gonna watch. Yeah, andlisten. But I run out of words for
that one. But no, what I wouldsay would be the gut wrenching moment
that I had was the Angels TakeManhattan. Oh, Amy and Rory. That,

(42:44):
like Amy and Rory at the startof season five was terribly written.
Just. I didn't like it onebit. She was. She was made out to
be this girl that had Rory andthought she just had him forever
and it didn't matter. And Icould go and find someone better
and then I just fall back onRory. But I think they realized that

(43:09):
that was just a terrible wayto go and kind of u turned with the
whole season 6 and 7 arcseries. 6 and 7 arc with, you know,
they. They realize how muchthey love each other and how far
they would go for each other. And it reaches this crescendo in
the Angels Take Manhattanwhere Rory is just doomed to die

(43:33):
and Amy just can't. She justcan't go on without him. There's.
She would rather give up allof this life with the Doctor and
all of time and space andendless adventures because she can't
bear to be one moment withoutthe man that she simply adores and
taking the plunge off of. Offthe tower to. And not really knowing

(43:58):
if that was going to solve theparadox or not was just gut wrenching.
And then just when you thoughtyou'd had enough, then there's that
just beautiful but horriblemoment in the graveyard where, you
know, Rory just gets snatchedright. When they think they're getting
away with it and you think,no. And then Amy just has no choice.

(44:21):
She's got to go because she'sgot to be with him. And he just.
You just see Matt's face makesit as well, the Doctor's face. And
you just. You. He's likemirroring the grief and you just
think, oh, you. It did get meright in the fields, that one.
Oh, mate. Yeah. I mean, thosetwo are definitely couple goals in

(44:43):
that episode. Yeah. I mean, there's not much romance going on,
as in, like, there's no themeof romance or love or anything. But
those two together are just socute in that one. And they're like
the one. They're like eachother's ride or die, aren't they?
They're like couple goals.

(45:03):
So, yeah, just a great storyof love and. And the power of love.
Yeah.
But for a romantic, I wouldhave chosen the other one, which
would have been the girl inthe fireplace.
All right.
Which I thought would havebeen the most obvious sort of choice
because that relationshipbetween what's her face, Madame de

(45:27):
Pompadour and the Doctor, it'sjust. It's lovely, but also sort
of tragic.
Yeah, no, I agree. A nice bigdude. Very nice. Harry. I'm gonna
guess Harry.
Oh, go on then.
The wedding of Riversong.

(45:47):
No, wait, no, it's not.
Go on.
I'm literally just thinkingthis on the spot and, yeah. My instincts
telling me, human nature, family of blood. That. That romance
between John Smith and.
Was it.
Was it Joan, her name, thelady he gets in a relationship with,

(46:11):
well, goes to the dance withand. Yeah.
Joan Redfern.
Yes. Yes. I thought that waslovely. I thought that was really,
really lovely. And also at thesame time really heartbreaking because
it's. Because if obviouslyJohn Smith was a real person, it

(46:32):
would have been a wonderfulrelationship. Like, they sort of
did all that flash forwardstuff, which is, yeah, a bit cheesy,
but like, it was. It hit youthere, you know, hits you in the
heart and it's. Yeah, it's a.It's a really interesting episode
because, like, the Doctor justdidn't consider for a second that
he was gonna, you know, as ahuman, fall in love with somebody.

(46:54):
And I guess the kind of realLife parallels. There is when, you
know, you. You developfeelings for someone, but, like,
they're not who you. Who youthought they were, so they end up,
like, breaking your heart. Andlike, that's really, like, kind of
bittersweet because, you know, hopefully Joan gets to go off and
find someone who's, well, forone, a real person and is also a

(47:18):
lot better for her, so. Well, actually, we know that she does because
in the end of time, herdaughter, granddaughter, who's like
signing books, says that sheends up being happy, so, yay, that
gets tied in a nice neat bow, which is lovely. So, yeah, probably
that one. I can't think of anyother samples of a Doctor who episode

(47:39):
where there's kind of. Yeah, actual, like, romantic relationships
that, like, I'm reallyenthused about. But actually hearing
Matt talk about Amy and Roryand the Angels Take Manhattan, like,
yeah, that's a really. That'sa nice redemption for those two because,
yeah, Amy didn't treat Roryvery well in the beginning, but.

(47:59):
But, yeah, but that turnedaround, so that's nice. So, yeah,
that'd be my pick. Human nature.
Nice, Nice. I really like thattwo parter. You know, it's one of
my favorite from. I think, shockingly, I think it's the only
story I could be wrong. Pleasecorrect me, guys, but I think it's
the only story written by PaulCornell in all of modern who.

(48:21):
There's that one. And he alsowrote Father's Day.
Oh, Father's Day, yes.
Which is also a bittersweetlove story, albeit between, like,
within a family, between afather and a daughter. I suppose.
I can never bring myself towatch that one. I find it too sad,
to be honest.
Is a bit. Isn't it? Yeah.

(48:41):
Yeah, it does get you every time.
I wish Paul. Paul Cornell hadwrote more stuff because he's defo
both stories that he's. He'scontributed to. To who have been
very, very good. Anyway. That's a good shout, dude. Nice one.
I'm gonna guess Maria's.
Go on.
It's gonna be a classic who story.

(49:04):
Go on.
It's probably the Green Death.
No.
Oh, oh, okay.
That's a good choice though. Ihave to be honest. I would. I didn't.
I didn't think of that one.
When Jo finds her, her manleaves the Doctor. That's bittersweet

(49:27):
as well. There's a themerunning here. The most romantic stories
are the most tragic.Bittersweet. There's no happy ever
after for a lot of thesepeople. Well, Joe, I guess. Did she
Leaves the Doctor, but that'sthe sad bit. But she does stay with
her new. Her new man. Cupid'sarrow was straight and true in that

(49:49):
story for Jo. But, sorry,Maria, your most romantic story.
Now, it might surprise you,but I struggled initially kind of
thinking about this because, you know, Doctor who doesn't kind
of speak romantic to me. Youknow, it's not typically a story

(50:09):
about romance, is it, so. Or aseries about romance. So I kind of
struggled a little bit. And Iwish I'd thought of the Green Death.
That's actually a greatexample. I think initially I was
kind of thinking in terms ofvisually what would be kind of quite
romantic, a place to visit. SoI kind of thought City of Death because

(50:34):
we're in Paris. So I kind ofthought, oh, you know, that might
be a fantastic location. Andalso because I think I'm gonna. I'm
gonna. I've actually got a newwho episode, which I'm. Which is
gonna be my choice. But, yeah, initially I thought of City of Death
because it's, you know, because it's Paris, the city of love

(50:55):
and all of that. And I thinkbecause Tom Baker and Lala Ward seem
to be at their happiest atthat point. You know, they're holding
hands out on location and, youknow, and it seems very, you know,
what's kind of happening inthe background between them. So initially
I kind of thought of thatstory. But as you say, I think there

(51:20):
is a theme with Doctor who inthat a lot of the romantic stories
are actually bittersweet. Theyare. I don't. I think. I think the
Green Death, like you said, isprobably the only one where it's
bittersweet for the Doctor. But Jo gets her man. So I kind of
settled on. And Harry and Matthave actually picked two episodes
that I would have probablythought of initially, so the Girl

(51:43):
in the Fireplace and HumanNature, Family of Blood. So I'm going
to go for a more left fieldone. So I thought actually of Love
of Monsters, which might notseem like an obvious choice, but.
But I liked the relationshipbetween Elton and Ursula and I liked

(52:07):
the fact, you know, the way itwas kind of. They. They kind of got
to know each other, the waythey kind of talked about each other.
I know Ursula obviously had a,you know, had a. Had a bad ending
because she was on thebackside of the Absorbelov, I think,
or somebody was on thebackside of the Absorbelov, but I

(52:29):
actually enjoyed their. Theirinteractions and, you know, so. And
I also thought, you know, itwas quite Nice, because you had Mr.
Kennedy and Bridget as well,so there was kind of a burgeoning
relationship between them. Itis probably, I suppose, a bit of
an odd one because like yousaid, you know, it's bittersweet

(52:51):
in the fact that all of thepeople in Lynda, you know, end up
dead, I suppose, really, orkind of absorbed. Absorbed. But yeah,
that was, that was the one Ipicked. There's something about that
story that kind of alwaysleaves me kind of quite emotional,

(53:12):
I suppose. You know, I thinkit's just Elton's journey, you know,
and obviously the Doctor's notin it that much, but as Elton's story,
I actually really enjoy it.
Okay. That's a good show,actually, I think. Yeah, I. I hadn't

(53:33):
considered that one, if I'mbeing honest with you. I hadn't.
It is hard to kind of pickromantic stories, really. Yeah, yeah.
No, that's a good one. So whatabout if you had to? I was so certain
you were going to go with aclassic coup, but I think that's
just. I think that's just mything with you. Like, because you

(53:56):
love classic who so much, Ithought we'd go for a classic one.
But. Okay, not too bad. Somegood choices so far. Nice, nice.
The one for me that I wasgonna pick, I was gonna go with Human
Nature, Family of Bloodinitially, until that was stolen
from beneath me, the rugpulled from beneath the proverbial

(54:17):
feet. So on my backup one wasthe episode the Lodger, the Matt
Smith story, which is kind ofa weird story. And I was in two minds
about it because I'm notreally a James Corden fan, if I'm
being honest with you. I findhim a little bit, A little bit annoying
at times. Although he was goodin obviously, Gavin Slacy. But I

(54:40):
think the reason why I chosethat one, because it's not a huge
standout romantic story as awhole. It's essentially, you know,
there's Aliens in the Attickind of story, but the, the relationship
between Craig and Sophie andthat kind of friend situation where

(55:01):
he obviously wants something alot more than Sophie does, but then
they kind of have a lovelysort of hand holding, little smoochie
kiss sort of thing. Towardsthe end when the Doctor's saving
them both and he plants one onher as that final moment, it's that
kind of build up wherethroughout the episode you're thinking,
is he gonna ask her out? Is henot? What's, you know, she wants

(55:24):
to be friends, he wants to bemore than that. And at the end, when
they think they're gonna die,he plants that massive kiss on her.
And then you as the viewer arelike, fist pump. And you're like,
yes, he's done it. And then itcuts to Amy in the tardis. He's watching
it and she's like, yes, aswell. Like he's finally had the balls
to. To give her a kiss andwhatnot. So, yeah, that would be

(55:46):
my backup choice. It's not. It's a little bit different to the
ones that you guys havechosen, where it's not got this kind
of very sweet, loving, romantic theme, but ends in tragedy
and is quite. You know, it'squite tragic in that way. But a nice
little story.

(56:06):
Yeah, the. The Craig arc, especially with the second episode
and you see how their love hasdeveloped over the time the Doctor's
been away. And yeah, JamesCorden is James Corden, but the.
The character of Craig. Is itCraig? Craig. Owen. Craig Owens.
Yeah. Yep.

(56:26):
Yeah, he's brilliant. I'd loveto see him in another one. Like,
just popping. Popping up, likeyou say. It's just a nice. It's a
nice arc, especially with thetwo of them.
Yeah, agreed. Oh, some greatpicks there, dudes. And a couple
of surprising ones as well.Yeah, nice. I wonder if our views

(56:47):
will change in a year's timewhen we do a. Another Valentine.
I assuming because Maria's onboard, she'll want to do another
Valentine's one. She'll wantto tell us, she wants to let us all
know who she'd snog, who she'ddate, who she'd marry, who should
kick out for not leaving thetea bag in long enough and all that.
I'm sure we get. So it'd beinteresting to see if our views change.

(57:11):
Yeah.
To check in with Harry andMaria to see who got Ian.
Oh, God. Such a croaky voiceat the minute. Oh, God. Excuse me.
Nice one. Making me laugh.Yeah, we'll see if it came to blows
between those two about whogot who got Ian, but okay, so I guess

(57:35):
for the next month'sroundtable, when we get on to March.
Fortunately, I don't thinkthere's any big public holidays that
we have to do stuff. We didmiss Pancake Day as well. I don't
think there are many Doctorwho episodes about Pancake Day, but
I.
Think Pancake Day is still to come.
Is it in March or is it April?

(57:56):
It's in March, I think, thisyear, because.
Oh, it is in March.
Easter's really late, but, yeah, like, you Say, is there any.
Maybe the Candyman?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Talk about the happinessPatrol. I don't know.
Yeah, yeah, 4th of March, sowe might get that in there. Who knows?
Who knows? Who bloody knowswhat's going on with this monthly

(58:19):
roundtable anymore? Got Mariatrashing Blake7 every opportunity
she gets. Oh, got Harry.Harry. Yeah, you got Harry, who's
like, oh, crikey, work's justkicking my ass. I got no time. But
I'm happy to waste timetalking to you lot about nonsense.

(58:40):
Matt with his bloody Dalek.Who knows? Who knows what's gonna
go on. Here he is. Oh, he'sgot his little plushie one now.
Is it giving you massages yet,Matt? The Dalek? Have you built enough
of it?
Yeah, well, I'm not a man tohave massage and towels, so I can't

(59:02):
say.
Just make sure it doesn'tmalfunction. Like, your girlfriend
will be somewhere else in thehouse and she'll just hear you scream
at the top of your voice, runin and there'll be a Dalek you've
made, like a custom Dalekattachment. It's like, wrapped around
your neck, choking the lifeout of you.
Yeah, what a way. Well, hateto die.
Is there a worse way? How are.Matt sadly leaves us at the age of

(59:25):
blah, blah, blah, choked outby a Dalek that he invented in his
bedroom.
God. Sounds like a beginningof a bad joke, that one, doesn't
it?
All righty. Unless you guyshave got one good.
I was going to say the onegood thing is, by the time of the
next round table, Matt willhave built a little bit more of it,

(59:47):
so we'll be able to see it.It's a work in progress, isn't it,
Matt?
It really is. And this massivebox, like viewers can't see, but
this massive, blooming greatbox that has arrived for a couple
days ago, it's massive andit's all of the bits inside. I think
we make the head next. Andit's really heavy as well, so it

(01:00:10):
must be. I'm. I'm intrigued tosee what becomes of this and whether
there is any massage attachments.
I'm really excited. I'm reallyexcited to see what it looks like
next month, Matt. So you've.You've got to give us an update.
Every. Every roundtable we geta little update about where you are

(01:00:30):
with the project.
Well, I've got some picturesof each, each issue and the completed
steps, and I was waiting for afew and I'll pop it on our discord
so if you want to have a lookand see how it goes on step by step,
an issue by issue, then we'll,we'll put it on the discord and yeah,

(01:00:51):
you can see, see how it's all going.
Sounds good, dude.
You know what I think wouldmake this even better is if they.
I'm not sure whether the squidthing that you, that you're going
to put in the Dalek itself isgoing to move at all, but I really
hope that it can, like, moveits tentacles around like Dalek Khan
in the stolen Earth. Thatwould be perfect.

(01:01:14):
Oh, yeah, that would be socool, man.
That would be really cool.
I've just got visions of Matt.Like, we turn up to record one of
these and Matt just turns uplike half his head spin shaven, like
his glasses are busted. Like,Matt, what's going on? He's like,
yeah, I wanted to make it moresentient, so I uploaded chat GPT

(01:01:35):
to it to try and give it itsown life and things have not gone
well.
Yeah, keep saying Skynet. Forsome weird reason, it won't turn
off.
Oh, God. It could just be theembodiment of Dalek tat. It's just
taking revenge on all of us,one by one.
I think it is.

(01:01:55):
Yeah.
It keeps saying, I've got tofind Garry. I've got to find Garry,
but I don't know where he isnow. Yeah, I was mean to him, throwing
me. He kept berating me. Yeah,he's gonna get his revenge.
Yeah. Oh, the old days areDalekt. I might see if I can find
him, track him down. He's inthe galaxy somewhere.

(01:02:19):
A guest on the next roundtable, possibly.
Yeah, Unless you guys have gotany other little nuggets of romantic
wisdom, humor, advice.
One more. I did think of, ofone more story. I'll just say the
name because. But if it's.It's not actually Doctor who, but

(01:02:40):
it's the Wedding of Sarah JeanSmith. That was phenomenal. That
was incredible. If you haven'tseen it, if you think Sarah Jane
Adventures is a kids show andnot bothering with that, like, you
probably don't listen to thispodcast because we all love the Sarah
Jane Adventures, but thisstory in particular, it's just, Just

(01:03:03):
go and watch it. Just any, anyopportunity that you get to watch
any Sarah Jane, really, it's.It's fantastic. It really is. But
this one in particular, it's.It's a beautiful love story. Unfortunately,
it's. It's tragic as well, but, yeah, absolutely phenomenal.
This, this episode, it really Is.

(01:03:25):
Good shout, dude. Yeah, reallygood shout. Oh, mate. I loved reviewing
Sarah Jane Adventures on the podcast.
Oh, man, when.
As. When I went through that.It was so good. Maria, have you seen.
I have, to be honest. No,mine's. Mine's still in the cellophane.

(01:03:45):
I've. I watched it ages ago. Iwatched bits and pieces of it, but,
yeah, it's one of those. SoI'm still waiting to unwrap. When
I get time, I'll go throughthe Sarah Jane adventures, because
I haven't seen all of them.I've seen a few of them on the. On
tv, but, yeah, no, I haven't.I haven't seen it all.

(01:04:07):
You must watch it. Maria.
Maria, it's phenomenal.
I don't know if this is.
I've seen the important ones.I've seen the one. I've seen. Is
it. I've seen the Wedding. Isit the Wedding of Sarah Jane. Is
that the one?
That's what matches.
Sorry, it cut out a littlebit, so I didn't catch that. And

(01:04:28):
there was another one with the11th doctor. Yeah, that I've seen.
I've seen those and I've seena couple of the others, but oh, my
gosh, it was so long ago, so.And I haven't seen the last series,
so I wish.
I wish I could go to. Back tobeing you right now and not having

(01:04:48):
watched them before andhaving, like, all of this beautifulness
to come. Honestly, Maria, justas soon as you finish this podcast,
go get it, unwrap it, put iton, and then I'll message you in
the Discord tomorrow and say, like, have you had any sleep? And
you'll be like, no, I am. I'mso. But it's so good. Like, honestly,

(01:05:11):
it is. For a long time, Icouldn't decide which was better
between Doctor who or SarahJane adventures. They are just. It's
so good, honestly. Do it,Watch it. Everyone else is just nodding
their heads because they. It'sjust so good. I can't say enough
how much I might start re.
Watching it now. Yeah, to behonest, I'm right in the mood. Sergey

(01:05:35):
Venture. So good.
I will. I will watch it atsome point. I will. It's just, I.
I'm. What I'm obviously doingwatching other things at the moment.
But, yeah, I will go. I willgo and watch it all. It just feels.
Because there's five series, isn't it? It feels like it's quite
a lot. So I. I will watch it.I will. I will watch it at some point.

(01:06:00):
Sounds like a lot, but. Butthere's only. They're only like half
an hour episodes and most ofthe series have 12 episodes, six
serials. So it's about sixhours each season.
Okay, well, it's not too bad.
It's all right. Yeah.
I mean, I, I'm glad I've gotit in the collection. I mean, I,
I wanted to get it because Iknew I hadn't seen it all. So I'm

(01:06:23):
really glad that I've got it.It's just something that I'm going
to sit and enjoy. I'll openmy, my, my bottle of red wine and
I'll sit and enjoy it. So,yeah, thanks, guys. And Garry, you'll
have to tell me all thepodcast, podcast ones that. Where
you've reviewed them so that Ican then. I can then listen to the

(01:06:43):
podcast afterwards.
Sure you will.
You are in for such a treat, honestly. And anyone else that.
Yeah, yeah, Maria's gonna do amoffat. She's gonna sit there, red
wine on the tv. The thing withthe Sarah Jane. We'll wrap up in
a second, I promise. But thething with the Sarah Jane adventures
is that it really is one ofthose shows where you watch an episode

(01:07:08):
and you think, okay, I've got,I've got a little bit of time. I'll
watch an episode of sja. Andthen it gets to the end and you're
like, I could do another one.I could do another one. It's fine.
I've got a little bit moretime. And then you get to the end
of that one and you're like,oh, really should go and do that
thing. But, oh, God, quickly,I'll just do one more. Before you

(01:07:30):
know it, you know, you're sixepisodes done. And yeah, it really
is one of those shows where Idon't want to get too soppy, but
it really is down to ElizabethSladen and just seeing how brilliant
she is, you know, and how coolshe is in that character. It's. Thank
God. I mean, we've slatedRussell quite heavily over the last

(01:07:53):
year, I think 10 months, whatever, with some of the newer
who stuff, but bloody hell, back then, like, thank God that he
thought, you know, I want tobring you back as Sarah Jane. I want
to create a spin off all aboutSarah Jane and you're going to own
it and it's going to be yourthing and she accepted. So, you know,
when he gets it right, oldrust bags, he definitely gets it

(01:08:16):
right. So thank God for that.
Guys, we have to do a wholeroundtable about Sarah Jane. Adventures.
I just popped into my headright now.
Yeah, Maria.
Once Maria's seen it.
Well, we could do. Yeah, onceMaria's watched an episode, we could
all review it and see what shethinks that would.
Yeah, I'm up for anything. Imean, if you wanted to do it, guys.

(01:08:39):
I mean, I can sit and watchsome of them if you want. I mean,
I. Because I want to be partof the round table. So. Yeah, if
you tell me when you want todo that and we can do it. I'll make.
I'll make time. I can alwaysmake time when I need to. I mean,
I'll get about four hourssleep every night, but I can make
time.
It would be cool. Yeah, Sarah Jane.
And then we'll do Torchwoodand then we'll do Class, because

(01:09:02):
that's the best spin off ever.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
You.
You can stop at the Torchwoodand don't even get me started on
that Australian canine series.
Oh, no, it was only one ep,wasn't it? Then he did one. Oh, no,
that was the canine down on.
No, Canine and Company wasonly one, wasn't it?

(01:09:22):
Yeah. What's the Australia one called?
I think it's just called K9. Yeah.
Is it just K9? But it's. It. Iwas so excited when they said it
was. It was coming because itwas right at that. Just after the
Sarah Jenn Ventures hadfinished and. Or was it running concurrently?
I'm not quite sure, but. Oh,they proper canine is in it for about

(01:09:43):
five minutes, then they blowhim up and then they create this.
Horrible CGI fancy futuristiclooking canine.
Yeah, it's God awful.
It's blooming dog. Bleep.That's. That's what?
Bleeping bleeping dog. Andit's bleeping bleeping thing. Yeah,
we know. Yeah.
K9 or like crap. N. Sorry.

(01:10:08):
Oh, God.
This is Ian rubbing off onhim. Yeah, the jokes are coming out
now. Ian's personality rubbingoff on him. Yeah, yeah. Okie dokie.
Right, let's wrap there. Justover an hour. That's not too bad.
