And welcome.
My name is Kavita Melani, andyou are listening to aligned and

And in this podcast, we focuson, or should I say, I focus on
topics so that you can have yourdesired level of success in your
business and life.
(01:07):
Okay, so this week I am talkingabout why it's important to have
structure, especially if you'recreative.
So before you decide, I'm notlistening to this, I don't like
structure, I don't likeprocesses, I don't like having
systems in place.
And even if those words for somecreative, you know, especially
(01:28):
creative entrepreneurs can bringup a lot of emotion and not
pleasant emotion, okay?
Um, I want you to consider thatthat structure, those systems
are actually the way to freedom.
(01:48):
Okay?
So, so hear me out a little bit.
So, have you ever, um, been in asituation where you are sitting
and you are thinking about howyou're going to spend your day?
Now, if you are an, um,entrepreneur that has maybe some
(02:09):
commitments to others, like ifyou work with clients, you might
have client sessions or, um, orif you, um, have appointments
with other people, you're maybea networking group or something
like that, right?
So you have some of thoseappointments on your calendar,
right?
And so you look at your day andyou say, oh, I have this
(02:30):
appointment at noon and this attwo.
And then there's the space inbetween that, that if you're an
entrepreneur, you have to decidehow you're going to spend that
time, okay?
Now, how often has it happenedto you where you think, oh, I
(02:50):
have two hours.
In those two hours I'm gonna getso much done, I'm gonna get all
the things done, and then therest of the day is free, or
whatever you wanna do, right?
And then when you're in themiddle of those two hours, there
are so many other things thatcome up.
Maybe you have, um, you know, ifyou use email, which we still
(03:12):
all, most of us do, right?
You're checking your email, ormaybe you get onto a social
media platform and with theintention of posting something,
but then you get distractedbecause you're scrolling, okay?
Or maybe you get some phonecalls coming in and, uh, you
answer those.
Or, um, maybe there's somethings if you work from home
(03:35):
that you need to do around thehouse.
And so bef before you know it,two hours has passed, and well,
you, you look at what youactually got done in that time,
it wasn't what you thought youcould, okay?
So that's probably because you,you had all this openness and
almost it was such a big spacefor you, and maybe two hours
(04:00):
isn't, but like a bigger spaceon time.
That, and there was no kind ofstructure.
It was like, oh, I'm just gonnaget these things done, right?
And then they don't get done.
And then this happens in a weekpasses, or two weeks or three
weeks.
Like, if you have things thatyou've been writing down and
that you wanna finish, and youknow, those are the things that
are gonna move your businessforward and move your life
(04:20):
forward, and you're not gettingthem done, right?
There's a reason.
So some of that is because itcould be resistance because of
maybe it's gonna make somechanges in your life.
And so your subconscious mind isresisting those changes.
And then a lot of it is maybeyou don't also have the
structure right in place.
(04:40):
So, um, working on how can youcreate the structure for
yourself.
So let me use the same exampleto help illustrate that
structure.
Okay?
So you have two hours in betweencalls, okay?
And you spend five minutesplanning, okay?
Five minutes doing a brainstormof all the things that you need
(05:01):
to do.
You prioritize, prioritize thethings that are not, um, that
you maybe enjoy, right?
But actually the things that aregonna get you to move you
towards your goals, right?
Move you towards your desires, which you wanna create the
intentions you set maybe at thebeginning of the year, right?
(05:22):
So you pick those things and youfocus on one or two, and you
decide when you're going to doit.
So let's say you had a call from12 to one, and you say, okay,
from one to about one 30, okay?
You spend, I'm going to spendthis time working on calling two
(05:45):
people, then getting back intouch with these people.
Okay?
So just an example, okay?
And so then, so you've created alittle bit of structure.
You've started to focus and, andbe clear about what you want to
spend your time doing, and thenow that half an hour that
(06:07):
you've spent on that is gonnahelp you move towards your
goals.
And then how does that createmore freedom for you?
Because I'll tell you why you'renot moving these tasks to each
and every day.
It's not ticking up your mentalspace and time because you're
thinking about things that youhaven't done yet, okay?
(06:30):
And that now that you have putdown and, and maybe schedule the
things that you need to do, andyou've created some kind of
system for yourself, right?
So then you don't have to spendthe mental energy and time
thinking about what am I gonnado during this time?
But you've created thatstructure.
Now you have the freedom withthe other time, your brain is
(06:54):
free, your mind is free.
You have the freedom to just beand, and be creative and not
think about all the things,right?
And you're not spending timethinking about the things you
need to do or want to do, right?
And then it also gives you somekind of picture of what's
actually possible for you to, tofocus on in the time that you
(07:17):
have, right?
So most people, I don't rememberwhere I read this, it was a
while back, but most peopleunderestimate by about 30% how
long something's going to take.
Okay?
And so if you're one of thosepeople that, uh, you know, feels
like there's just not enoughtime for things, you're
underestimating how long thingsare taking, and it's taking you
(07:40):
a lot of mental energy and time, and it is, you know, when you're
worried and you're stressedabout things, that does zap your
creativity, right?
That does not promotecreativity.
Okay?
So, so the create, if you wantto enhance your creativity, it's
best to have like the sense of,you know, think of like the
first chakra, right?
(08:01):
That grounding that like, oh,yes, I have that kind of
structure.
I'm feeling that safety, right?
By having these things in place, and then I'm free to use my
creative energy in ways toactually create, right?
In ways that m move me towardsmy desires in ways that I can,
(08:24):
you know, spend things, um, thetime with people that I love,
right?
Instead of being somewhatpresent, right?
Because you're kind of a littlebit maybe concerned and worried
about things that, that aregoing on, right?
So this, this kind of creatingthat structure is, is the way to
(08:44):
actually having that freedomtime, okay?
Now, I gave the example of tasksand scheduling things on your
calendar, right?
So, so that is just one way thatyou can create structure and
systems, right?
And other systems that you canhave is like, okay, for
instance, like when I am readyto record a podcast, what is the
(09:07):
system that I have in place?
Okay?
And so if I know when I'm gonnarecord, right?
Every week, if I know if I'veplanned out my topics, right?
If, um, I kind of have astructure outline, I've already
written them out out myepisodes, then, then there's
(09:30):
like more freedom, right?
There's more space, right?
I know when this is gonnahappen.
Then I know the steps after Irecord the podcast, right?
And, and then I know what I'mgonna do with it instead of, let
me flip that.
Okay?
Oh, I have a podcast I recordevery week.
I'm not sure when I'm gonna fitit in.
Let me see on my calendar whereI can find the time.
(09:51):
And then you, you end up maybedoing it last minute or I
recorded last minute.
And then, um, okay, so what am Igonna do this week with the
podcast?
How am I gonna let people knowthat it's available?
And then you start to thinkabout that and trying to create
that in the moment, right?
Instead of the calm, groundedversion, right?
(10:13):
Of that structure being in placeso that you can do this podcast
and get it done and know thatyou, you know, what you're gonna
do with that.
And then guess what?
When I'm in those place, and Iwill confess, I've done both,
okay?
But when I'm in the place whereI have a structure, I have it on
(10:34):
my calendar, I have it scheduled, um, it's, I just feel more
creative because that time, instead of thinking about when
I'm gonna do it, or how am Igonna do the podcast, I get to
brainstorm ideas.
I'm more present with what'sgoing on for me, right?
And I know some, the challengesthat I face, um, a lot of my
(10:54):
clients are facing and it's whatI'm hearing, right?
And so that I can be morecreative and come up with more
strategies and solutions thereinstead of just trying to catch
up, okay?
Just trying to get it done.
And that's not creative, that'snot freedom.
That feels like a weight, feelslike something that I have to
(11:17):
do, right?
So I just gave the example of apodcast in business, and maybe
you're listening to this and youdon't have a business, or you're
thinking about having abusiness, or maybe you're more
of a person that you know isn'ta job and you know, you are
wanting to cultivate thatentrepreneurial mindset.
(11:37):
So wherever you are, you can usethis to promote creativity.
So I'm gonna ask you to take onestep and look at where is it
that you can create somestructure, some process that, of
something that maybe is aconstant worry, right?
(11:58):
That would probably be the bestway to look so that you can have
the freedom and open up thatcreative energy and you can have
the freedom to be able to createmore.
So if you know what that is, I'dlove to hear what you come up
with, right?
So then, you know, you can sendme, uh, an a message and I'd
(12:20):
love to hear what structureyou've come up with, or if you
need help with that, you can,you can message me and say, I'm
thinking of this.
Do you have an idea of how I cancreate structure?
That's one of my, my strengthsis to help with that.
So, so then, um, if you haven'theard already, um, I am next
Friday, the March 10th, on March10th at noon on Pacific Time,
(12:44):
I'm holding a free masterclasson finding your niche to track
your dream clients.
Okay?
And no, I think that, uh, thisis a struggle that I hear all
the time.
So in this class, my goal isthat you actually leave with
some clarity.
(13:04):
You're not gonna just attend andjust hopefully listen and not
receive anything.
I want this to be interactive.
If you can show up live, I'mgonna coach you through, um,
during the class, okay?
Um, but if you can't make it,just go ahead and register.
And then the res, you'll havethe recording, you'll be
(13:25):
available for about seven daysafterwards.
And um, so I'd love to have youthere if that's something that
you're interested in.
If you are kind of feeling lost, you're doing a bunch of things,
but you're just not attractingthe your dream clients, then
this is for you.
And even if you're consideringcoming, if there's a part of you
that thinks that you couldbenefit, come, I'd love to have
(13:48):
you there.
So next week I will talk moreabout the unconscious mind.
I have some fun topics coming upI'm excited about.
And in the meantime, take goodcare.
This is Kavita with aligned andsoulful success.
