Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yo yo.
What's good faithful family?
It's your boy, Justin, comingat you with another episode of
the Faithful Fox man.
Today we're diving intosomething that's going to blow
your mind harder than when yourealized the Wi-Fi password was
password 123 the whole time.
We're talking about faith, baby, but not just any faith.
(00:20):
We're breaking down Hebrews,chapter 11, verse 1, which is
basically the Bible's definitionof faith and, spoiler alert,
it's way cooler than you think.
So grab your coffee, yourprotein shake or whatever keeps
you caffeinated, because we'reabout to get real about what it
means to believe in what wecan't see.
(00:40):
This is going to be fire.
Let's get into it can't see.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
This is going to be
fire.
Let's get into it.
Our sin, yeah, your words giveme grace and you're here in this
place.
I've been blind by your holylight.
Give me blessings from abovewhen I broadcast.
(01:15):
Welcome to the Faithful FoxPodcast.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
All right, fam, let's
crack open the good book
Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 1,and I'm rolling with the NIV
today because it just hitsdifferent Now.
Faith is confidence in what wehope for and assurance about
what we do not see.
Hold up.
Did you guys catch that?
The Bible just gave us atwo-part definition.
(01:46):
That's about to change the game.
We're talking confidence andassurance about stuff we can't
even see.
That's like that's next levelpeople.
But before we go deeper, let'splay a little game.
This is faith or foolish.
I feel very foolish Everymorning.
(02:07):
Imagine someone putting theirfeet on the floor expecting it
to hold them up.
Faith or foolish?
That's faith, baby.
Nobody inspects the structuralintegrity of their apartment
every day.
We just trust it's going towork.
Or how about this?
People trust their GPS when itsays turn left in 500 feet, even
(02:28):
when they're looking at whatappears to be a cornfield.
Faith or foolish?
Sometimes it's both, but we doit anyway.
But here's where it gets spicy.
Someone might have completeconfidence in a navigation app
that once tried to send themthrough a lake, but then
struggled to have faith in theGod who literally spoke the
universe into existence Likecome on, you'll trust Siri with
(02:52):
your life in downtown trafficbut stress about whether God's
got your back.
The math ain't mathin' people.
See, that's the beauty of whatthe author is saying here Faith
isn't blind, it's confident,it's not foolish, it's assured.
There's a difference and we'reabout to unpack it.
So let's talk about thisassurance, about what we do not
(03:15):
see part, because this is wherepeople get twisted up.
This is the evidence locker.
But do you have any evidence?
They think faith meansbelieving in fairy tales, but
that's not what's happening here.
Think about it.
You believe in love?
Right, but has anyone ever seenlove like literally seen it?
(03:36):
No, but you've seen the effectsof love.
You see people sacrifice foreach other.
You see kindness, kindness, yousee commitment.
The evidence is everywhere, butlove itself.
That's invisible, fam.
It's the same thing with faith.
We can't see God with oureyeballs, but we can see his
fingerprints all over creation.
(03:58):
We can see how lives gettransformed.
We can see peace in chaos, hopein darkness and strength in
weakness.
It's like trying to see thewind you can't see it, but you
can definitely see what happenswhen it shows up.
And, trust me, when God showsup, things get blown away.
You see what I did there Windblown away.
(04:20):
I'm not sorry.
The evidence locker of faithisn't empty y'all.
It's packed with testimonies, changed hearts and miracles,
both big and small.
We just gotta have eyes to seeit.
All right time for some realtalk.
Where are we actually puttingour confidence?
This is Faith Check, becausehere's the tea.
(04:43):
We all have faith in something.
The question is what's worthyof that faith?
I'll be real with you.
Sometimes people put more faithin their morning coffee routine
than they do in God's plan fortheir day.
Someone might be stressed aboutwhether they have enough
creamer, but they're supposed totrust the creator of the
universe with their future.
That's backwards.
(05:04):
That's like being moreconcerned about having a
matching socks than having aroof over your head.
The priorities are all kinds ofmessed up, but here's what I'm
learning Faith isn't a feeling,it's a choice.
Confidence isn't based on ourmood.
It's based on God's characterand his track record.
It's pretty solid fam.
So when life gets crazy and itwill get crazy we get to choose.
(05:30):
Are we going to put ourconfidence in our circumstances
or in the one who's bigger thanour circumstances?
The beautiful thing aboutbiblical faith is that it's got
receipts.
God's been faithful before,he's faithful now and he will be
faithful tomorrow.
That's not wishful thinking.
That's literally historyrepeating itself in the best way
(05:52):
possible.
So here's where things getreally good, though Ready for
the plot twist.
This is Plot Twist Theology.
Faith isn't about getting whatwe want.
It's about trusting who God is,even when we don't get what we
want.
And it's different, doesn't it?
(06:15):
See, we live in a culture thattreats faith like a vending
machine Put in your prayers, press the right buttons and out
comes your blessing.
But biblical faith, it's morelike a relationship with someone
you trust completely, even whenyou don't understand their
methods.
It's like when someone's mommade them eat vegetables as a
(06:36):
kid.
They had no idea why she wastorturing them with broccoli,
but they trusted that she hadtheir best interest at heart,
even though, let's be honest, broccoli still looks like little
trees and nobody's going toconvince me otherwise.
Never mind.
But here's the thing, thatconfidence, that assurance we're
reading about.
It's not confidence thateverything will go our way, it's
(06:58):
confidence that God's way isthe best way, even when it
doesn't feel like it.
That's faith that can movemountains, fam, not because
we're demanding God move them, but because we trust him,
whether he moves them or teachesus to climb them.
You know what's beautiful aboutall this?
(07:19):
Faith isn't this mysterious, impossible thing that only super
spiritual people can have.
You already have it.
Every time you choose to trustGod's heart when you can't see
his hand.
That's faith.
Every time you choose hope overfear, trust over worry, love
(07:40):
over bitterness.
That's the confidence andassurance the author's talking
about.
So, as we wrap up today, I wantyou to remember something Faith
isn't about having all theanswers.
(08:00):
It's about knowing the one whodoes.
It's not about seeing the wholestaircase.
It's about taking the next step, confident that the ground will
be there to meet your foot.
Today, wherever you are, whatever you're facing, you have
(08:24):
access to the same faith thatmoved the heroes of old, not
because you're perfect, butbecause our God is faithful.
So take that step.
Trust that heart, rest in thatassurance.
(08:44):
You are loved, you are held andyou are never, ever walking
alone.
This has been the Faithful Fox.
I'm Justin, reminding you tokeep the faith, keep the joy and
(09:06):
keep being faithful foxes in aworld that desperately needs
more hope.
Until next time.
Peace out, fam.
