We explore how a hyperbaric oxygen chamber became both a recovery tool and a quiet room for deep thinking and writing. A tough injury, a lifetime of training, and faith in timing connect into a framework for turning setbacks into direction.

• why the hyperbaric “healing pod” supports physical recovery and calm focus
• how screen-free solitude unlocks clearer thinking and better journaling
• using simple prompts to spark insight and momentum
• reframing failure as data and opportunity
• connecting past training and work to faster rehab decisions
• mapping your timeline to spot the sequence in your story
• practical steps to slow down, listen, and write

SPEAKER_00 (00:14):
The Farmer's Greatest Asset Podcast.
We believe the Farm's GreatestAsset is the Farmer.
Their knowledge, experience,mind, and health.

(00:36):
Welcome to the podcast.
I'm Jesse.
And I am Flying Solo.
Leah is at a retreat this week,so I guess you guys get me all
to yourself.
So welcome.
Thanks for listening.
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening from whenever and
wherever you're listening.
We truly do appreciate youlistening.

(00:58):
So recently we did talk aboutthe hyperbaric oxygen chamber
that we have, and we like tocall it the healing pod or the
pod.
And it has been an amazing thingjust for my physical recovery.
And we've actually had someactually a lot of interest, had

(01:19):
some people call and ask aboutit.
We've actually had somebody comeand use it.
Um, that we have been more thanhappy to let them come and use
it because that's just kind ofin Leah and I that we just truly
would like to help people.
And they were good friends ofours.
We were willing to just let themcome and use it whenever, um,

(01:40):
because we truly do feel like itwould help him.
So, and then somebody elsecalled and we kind of talked a
little bit about it, and thereare some amazing health benefits
to it, and just recovery andhealing and actual good
modalities that happen becauseof the hyperbaric oxygen

(02:03):
chamber, and the, like I say,the forcing oxygen into your
blood system because that's justgood oxygen, is good healing.
When you can oxygenate, thingshappen, things will heal better,
heal faster.
That hyperbaric chamber has beenused to treat many different
amazing things, but it's twofoldfor me, and that was one of my

(02:25):
major points when somebodycalled the other day.
We kind of talked a little bitabout the chamber because
they're interested in maybegetting their own.
And the other side of it for meis that you're in there alone
for an hour and a half minimum, because it takes 10 minutes for
it to come up to pressure, andthen you're in there for about

(02:48):
an hour, and then it's another10 minutes-ish for it to come
down from pressure.
So it's an hour and 20 minutesthat you're in this thing, and
it's just a pod, you're zippedin there, and you're in there by
yourself, and it's not like youcan just open the door and jump
out because of the pressure.
You've got to let the pressurecome down slowly.
So you're not supposed to takeelectronics in there.

(03:09):
No, I've been guilty to do that, but when you don't, it's just
taking all the distractionsaway.
The other side of to the to thepod for me is the being in there
alone and quieting your mind andjust being able to think in
there and maybe even fallingasleep sometimes or reading.

(03:34):
A lot of times I take thejournal in there and I write.
Some pretty amazing things cancome out of at least my pen when
I'm in there by myself, havejust my thoughts to myself.
I can hear the universe or Godor the higher power, whatever it

(03:54):
is, I could hear that speakingto me, and it just kind of comes
out of my pen, and I'm writingin my journal.
That whole thing of being quietwith myself and just being able
to think and write in there isso powerful.
I wrote the entire book in thepod.

(04:16):
So the actual workbook that wehave out there available is
actually a condensed version ofwhat I completely wrote in the
pod.
And we kind of condensed it downto that because that's what we
feel is the most important stufffor the workbook.
But some really amazing thingskind of come come to me when I'm
in there writing.

(04:37):
If you could just quiet yourmind, think, and maybe you won't
write anything, but somethingwill come to you, and you just
kind of write on it.
You might feel a little sillythat you're writing on
something, but some prettyamazing things come to you.
Everything happens for a reason.

(05:00):
God's timing is perfect, and youhear exactly what you need to
hear when you need to hear it,and that's kind of what happens
to me when I'm in there writing.
Take some time to yourself tosit down in a quiet spot where
nobody's gonna bother you andthink.

(05:22):
Take a book.
I actually have this particularbook, it's about raise your
vibration.
There's the vibe of the day, soit gives me something to to
reflect on or to think about orto write on, and that uh sparks
a lot of things.
But if if I don't have the book,I'm I just try to sit down in
there and I quiet my mind, andall of a sudden something will

(05:45):
come to me, and I start writing, and some pretty amazing things
do come to me.
I'll just read you just a littlebit of what I wrote one day
sitting in our pod.
You were born on purpose.
You can live with a purpose.
Your soul has a purpose, andsaying that you were born on

(06:06):
purpose makes so much sense.
Whether you believe in God or ahigher power, you are brought
here born on purpose.
Trust that timing is perfect andthere is no such thing as
failure.
Failure is just someone'sopinion that it did not go as
planned.
It is an opportunity to grow andlearn from that failure.

(06:27):
Don't call it a failure.
Call it what it is.
It is an opportunity.
And I'll truly tell you, I don'teven know what kind of made that
come come to me, but that iswhat I wrote that day.
And here I will continue.
Everything happens for a reason.

(06:48):
Everything, including me gettinghurt in the livestock trailer in
July of 2023.
During that time I knew what Iwas facing.
I knew exactly what I was facingbecause I went to school for
athletic training and was goingto be an orthopedic surgeon.
Worked with an orthopedicsurgeon, worked for Zimmer, an
orthopedic implant company.
I was a guy to go into surgeryand hope total total joint

(07:11):
replacement surgeries.
I am here and I am needing a hipreplacement.
I knew what I was up against.
I knew the injury, I knew thesurgery, I knew exactly what I
would have to do to get better.
I was doing quad sets, laying inthe hospital bed in traction,
knowing I would have to keep mystrength and muscle mass up.

(07:31):
I was also a competitiveweightlifter in high school.
I worked out like I was trainingfor competition all through
college.
All of that got to me be asstrong as I was.
Because I was so strong, I wasnot killed in that trailer, and
God has a plan for me.
By the grace of God, I am hereto help.
We all have our story, andeverything happens for us.

(07:54):
We just have to see it and knowit and be thankful for it.
We can breeze through life andnot realize what is happening
for us, but know that it ishappening for us for a reason.
You have to piece it alltogether.
You will start to realize thatthings happen for you for a
reason.
Things really do just happenexactly how they're supposed to

(08:14):
play out.
And you may not want to believeit, you may not want to see it,
but it's true.
Things just happen the waythey're supposed to happen.
They really do.
You'll hear exactly what youneed to hear.
You'll see it exactly when youneed to see it.
I am urging you to just grab anotebook and sit down and just

(08:37):
go back and think of yourtimeline.
Figure out how things arehappening for you.
Because when I got hurt, I couldhave easily thought, why is this
happening to me?
Matter of fact, Leah would tellme all the time, this is
happening for us, not to us.
And I could have really got downon myself, and not to say that I

(09:00):
didn't, but I knew exactly whatI needed to do.
I knew exactly what I was gonnahave to go through.
I knew exactly what to dobecause of everything that I had
been trained to do, everythingthat I had gone through.
All of those things happened forme in exactly the right sequence

(09:23):
that they did.
I was a personal trainer, so Iknew all of the exercises.
I was a competitiveweightlifter, I was so strong.
I was an athletic trainer, so Iknew the rehab.
I worked for an orthopedicsurgeon, was planning on going
to medical school to be anorthopedic surgeon, so I knew

(09:45):
the surgery.
I worked for an orthopedicimplant company, I knew the
surgery, like the back of myhand.
I knew exactly what I was gonnahave to do.
All because of those things thatactually happened to me.
It is it's crazy when you thinkabout it, but it's everything
actually really just happensexactly how it's supposed to

(10:06):
happen.
And at the time you're not gonnalike it.
You're gonna ask why is thishappening?
But you just have to know thatGod's time is perfect and God's
timing is slow and it's notgonna happen overnight.
You have to slow down and listenand see and know that it'll all

(10:31):
be okay.
And whatever you're doing.
And it may not even be a seriousinjury, it could be something
else you're going through.
If you sit down and you justkinda write out your timeline,
you'll see, you'll see them thepath that it has taken you.
It took you exactly to whereyou're supposed to be.
But those things come to me whenI'm I'm quiet and I can can

(10:55):
write.
Writing things down is fourtimes more effective, four times
more powerful, and they reallydo hit home when they're written
down.
As always, thanks for listening.
We really do appreciate you guyslistening and sending us notes,
calling us emails.
