My name is Justin Arrington andthis is the 33rd episode that
we have released 33 days in arow.
If you guys have been here fromthe beginning, I appreciate you
all for your listening to myvoice every single day and I
(00:39):
really do appreciate you guys.
And if you guys have beenlistening to the show, all you
guys or you guys know that all Iask is that we just share this
show with whoever you feel likewould get any value, any benefit
from it, because my wholepurpose is to help people start
living life on their own termsand just building the life of
their dreams.
And so, guys, if you guys havenot listened to the past 32
(01:03):
episodes, I encourage you to goback and listen through them.
I try to keep these episodessemi short.
I know they go a little bitlonger sometimes, but we try to
stay within like seven to 10minutes, just because I know you
guys are busy and hopefully youguys can take something from
these short episodes and theseare things that you guys can
actually start applying today.
(01:24):
I usually try and give you guyssome sort of action item that
you can immediately start takingaction on, because that is
ultimately how we grow.
And so, with that said, if youguys listened to yesterday's
episode, we talked about askingquestions and I gave you guys a
little bit of a sneak peek as towhat we were going to be
talking about today and today'sepisode.
(01:44):
We're going to be talking abouttoday and today's episode.
We're going to be talking aboutcontrolling the controllables.
Guys, there's things in yourlife that you are just not going
to be able to controlwhatsoever, but there is a lot
that you can ultimately control, and so, when I was prepping for
this, there were several thingsthat, um, you know, I w, I was
(02:05):
kind of looking for, um, butultimately, like there's,
there's only, there's only acertain amount of things that
you can absolutely control in inyour life, um, but I wanted to
start out with the things thatyou can't control.
Um, some some examples ofthings that you can't control
are the weather.
You can't control traffic.
(02:25):
You can't control bills.
You can't control otherpeople's feelings, what other
people say, what other peoplebelieve, what others post online
, what other people are thinking?
You can't control otherpeople's time.
You can't control aging.
You can't control time.
You guys, this is somethingthat I found on LinkedIn, so I
am reading these.
(02:46):
I thought it was a super coolimage and um.
So, guys, those are things thatyou can't control.
Like well, let's just talkabout the weather, for example.
Let's just say that you havethis, uh, this incredible
backpacking trip planned up inthe in the mountains somewhere,
and, uh, you know, it's the daybefore you leave.
You pull up your weather app onyour phone and you just see
(03:08):
that it's going to be anabsolute downpour the entire
time that you're on your trip.
Guess what?
You can't control it.
That's something that you can'tcontrol.
If there's traffic on thefreeway, you're late for work,
you can't control it.
Guys, every year, you getanother year older.
(03:33):
You can't.
You can't control that.
There's nothing that you can do.
That's going to stop time.
A lot of these examples had todo with what other people, or
had to do with other people.
No-transcript, it's not goingto happen.
It's never going to happen.
But now let's talk about thingsyou can control.
(03:57):
You can control what you dowith your time.
You can control what you eat.
You can control your actions.
You can control your thoughts.
You can control how you spendyour time on the internet.
You can control self-care.
You can control what you say.
You can control who you hangout with.
(04:19):
You can control what words youspeak.
You can control your boundariesand you can control your
opinions.
Now, there may be other thingsout there that you can control,
but those are just some thingsthat stuck out to me, but those
are just some things that stuckout to me.
You control every time you youintake something in your body.
You control how you spend yourtime every single day.
(04:42):
You control what it is that youlook at on your phone.
Maybe you're sick, Maybe you'reone of those people that just
sits on Instagram, facebook, whatever, and you're scrolling
for out for hours every singleday.
Guess what you can control that?
You can control who you hangout with, guys.
Are you hanging around theright people?
You can control what you looklike.
(05:06):
You can control your faith.
You can control, I would say,the majority of your
relationship.
But, guys, you have to realizethere's so many more things that
are out of your control thatare actually that then you're
(05:28):
actually in control of and asmuch as you want to control
other people, sometimes you justhave to let them go.
You have to, you know, let themlive life the way that they
want to live.
So control the controllables.
That's it.
That's my only message for youtoday.
(05:50):
You can't control time, but youcan control what you do with
the time that you have.
Do you see why that's soimportant?
Do you see why understandingthat you can't control
everything is so important?
(06:10):
Guys, I know that this isprobably something that is very,
very difficult for a lot of youguys, but just keep, just keep
moving on, like, keep living dayafter day and doing whatever it
is that you can to be the bestversion of yourself, because
(06:33):
once you can do that you'llyou'll really start to live a
happy and more fulfilling life.
So control the controllable,guys.
Like I said, this is.
This is a short episode we'regoing to.
We're going to be about sevenminutes.
That's what I these are.
These are the episodes that are, honestly, some sometimes the
best ones to listen to, becausethey are so short and it's
(06:55):
something you can listen tosuper quick to get into your
brain and move on with your day.
So think about today like therest of your day today.
Just think about how manythings you can actually control
versus what you can't control.
You can control your emotions, you can control whether or not
you're going to have a good daytoday or not, but it's going to
(07:17):
come down to you.
So what are you going to do tomake today great?
And with that said, guys, we'llchat with you again tomorrow.
This lifestyle design I knowyou see the work.
