This is episode number 34, andI'm your host, justin Errington.
Thank you guys once again fortuning in to today's show.
This is episode number 34, andI'm excited to be able to share
a little bit of my knowledgewith you guys and hopefully you
can start applying it into yourlife immediately so that you can
ultimately live life on yourown terms.
That is my whole purpose of theshow.
(00:38):
If you guys have not tuned intothe show before, we've been
releasing an episode everysingle day for a little over a
month now, and if you guys wantto get more nuggets on what I've
uh, what some of the contentthat I've released in the last
month or so, head on back towherever you guys are listening
and you'll be able to see moreepisodes there.
Um, guys, if this is the firsttime you've listened, all I ask
(00:59):
is that you do subscribe to theshow and then also share it with
someone who you feel like wouldbenefit from it.
That's it, like there's reallyno nothing else that I asked for
.
Um, you know, I just try toprovide provide as much value as
I can.
I try to keep these episodessemi-short, between seven and 10
minutes, that way you guysdon't feel like you're wasting a
whole bunch of time everysingle day listening to you know
(01:21):
an hour long podcast.
I like to just get straight tothe point, and so, with that
said, let's go ahead and diveinto the topic of today, and
that is about living Guys, living in the moment.
Today is something that I feellike is really hard for a lot of
people, especially since welive in such a digital age.
It's easy to get caught up inlives of other people and it's
(01:45):
sometimes hard to really justfocus on yourself and what you
got going on in your life.
And one thing to really kind ofhelp you with being more
present is just think about, like, what if today was it?
What if today was your last dayon earth, you know, because in
reality you may not have, youmay not have tomorrow, you know.
(02:07):
So how many moments are yougoing to let pass by you?
Or you know, how many momentsare you going to waste away
today knowing that today couldbe it?
You know, I've talked on theshow a couple times in the past,
like I've just mentioned.
Like what if you know?
You're on your way home today, you get hit by a semi truck and
it's it.
You know.
Life's over.
What, what's what's next?
(02:29):
You know what?
What?
If that was you today, would youfeel confident to say, like you
know what I did, live life tothe fullest, I did everything
that I wanted to.
Or would you be on the otherside of the spectrum where, oh
man, that went by way too quick, like I wasn't ready, like I
didn't accomplish things that Iwanted to?
You never know.
(02:49):
Today could be it.
Tomorrow could be it.
You guys could live for anotherhundred years.
I don't know, nobody knows.
You know, and you can plan forthe future as much as you want,
but we're all living inside anhourglass and once that last
(03:10):
grain of sand hits the bottom,it's over.
There's no going back.
So that's why I encourage youguys to just stay as present in
the moment as possible.
I think this is one of the mainreasons that I really started to
explore entrepreneurship, andI'm not saying that the life of
an entrepreneur is easy, becauseit is anything but easy, even
(03:34):
though social media mightportray this image that, oh,
he's an entrepreneur, hecontrols his schedule and he has
all this time and he makes allthis money Like it's not the
case.
I, uh, I, I work more now thanI would at a typical nine to
five job, so I'll be the firstone to tell you entrepreneurship
(03:56):
ain't ain't for everybody, um,but one of the reasons that I
did pursue this was so that Iwouldn't have to miss out on
moments with my kids, momentswith my family, my wife, and
it's really helped me be able tobe present in a lot of things.
Like one thing that I really dotake pride in is my wife I mean
my wife's pregnant with ourthird baby right now.
(04:17):
We should be having that anyday, but heck, by the time this
releases I hope he's alreadyhere because we're really down
to the days.
But one thing that I reallytake pride in is I have not
missed a doctor's appointmentfor any of my three kids, and I
don't think a lot of peoplecould say that, because it's
hard to get away from the officewhen you have a boss or you
(04:39):
have to report to somebody andyou know you're out of town for
this conference.
Like, I plan my days around myfamily If my boys have soccer at
five, I'm off at four.
You know, nobody can dictate myschedule, it's all on me.
And the reason that's soimportant to me is because today
might be it for me, it might beit for you.
(05:03):
There's no guarantee that God'sgoing to wake you up tomorrow,
but he did wake you up today andso if you are listening to this
show right now, take a momentand be grateful for it, no
matter how crappy of a dayyou're having.
Be grateful for today becauseGod woke you up and the fact
that you woke up, you got out ofbed.
(05:24):
God has a purpose for you today.
Now the other question is likeare you wasting it?
You know, I don't know how manydays I've had in my life where
I have wasted days.
I've wasted days.
Everybody does Not.
Every day can be 100% grind.
Do everything that you can andit's not going to happen.
(05:45):
You're going to have those offdays, but whenever those off
days hit you, I really want youto think about you know what?
Why am I here?
Why am I in this moment?
Why am I at this job?
Why am I on this date?
You're there to be present andyou're there to make the most of
that moment, and that's whyit's so incredibly beautiful to
live moment by moment andactually be present.
(06:07):
And I know it's hard with havinghaving the internet at our, at
our fingertips, 24, seven.
It's easy to get wrapped up onyour phone Like I am.
I'm, I'm really bad at this andI'm, I'm trying, I'm.
I feel like I'm trying to kickan addiction.
Like when I'm trying, I feellike I'm trying to kick an
addiction.
Like when I'm home, I feel likeI am on my phone way too much
and like just even recordingthis podcast right now, it's
like, oh my gosh, justin, whatare you doing?
(06:27):
Like you have two little boysright in front of you that you
know.
Go out and play ball with them,go ride bikes with them,
whatever.
And there's plenty of moments inmy life where I feel like I
don't capitalize on it.
But I am recognizing that moreand more as my kids get older
and I want to be a more presentfather, I want to be a more
(06:47):
present husband.
And it's, it's hard, you know, but it's one of those things.
Like you know what, let's justbuild some discipline and get
into a routine where, like thisis this is what we do, we're at
home.
You know, god needs me to be afather.
He needs me to be a husbandright now, and then when I'm at
(07:09):
work, I'm in work mode, you know.
So it's really just dialingeverything in to be present in
the moment today, because themore present you are, I
guarantee you, the more happyyou'll be, and that's God's
whole purpose for us.
Every single day is to be happy, be happy and progress.
(07:30):
Guys, if you're not living, you're dying, and I'll be the
first one to tell you like dyingis the inevitable.
It's going to happen toeverybody.
So what are you doing to maketoday count?
Because today could be it, andif today's not, it for you?
Remember when you put both feeton the ground tomorrow.
(07:50):
Give thanks to God that he wokeyou up today and then ask him
what is my purpose?
What do I need to accomplishtoday?
Who do I need to meet?
Who are you going to put in mypath that I can serve?
And he'll provide those answers.
He'll provide thoseopportunities for you.
I promise that.
I can testify to that.
(08:11):
I've seen it in my own life.
So make today count.
Stop wasting day by day by day.
Take action now, make it happen, start living your dream life.
Start living it on your ownterms.
That's why I love the intro andoutro to this podcast, because
