Speaker 1 (00:18):
and we are live back with another episode of the
freedom first podcast.
I'm your host, justin errington.
Thank you all once again fortuning into today's episode.
This is episode number 38.
This is 38 days in a row that Ihave been releasing a podcast
for you guys.
As you guys know, if you havetuned into the show before, this
is a show on personaldevelopment.

(00:39):
I talk about how you can startimplementing little things in
your life every single day thatwill lead you to start living a
free life and living it on yourown terms.
That's my whole purpose.
That's my only goal of thisshow is to provide value to you
guys so that you can eventuallylive a free life.
That's my whole purpose.
My whole goal and all I ask ofyou guys is that, if you get any

(01:01):
value is to share this showwith at least one person and
guys.
Yesterday we dropped the episodeabout wholesaling and I was
talking about what it is that Ido and it kind of sparked an
interest in my mind, just aboutmaking money and increasing our

(01:24):
income and cause cause.
That's really, ultimately, Ifeel, like what most people want
to do.
They're trying to figure outhow can I make more money, how
can I provide for my familybetter?
And I really hope that some ofyou guys take advantage of
yesterday's episode and andreach out.
And if you guys are interestedin wholesaling a house with me
and making some extra money, let's do it Like I'm.
I'm a hundred percent down tohelp you guys do that, because

(01:47):
it's it's ultimately going to bea win-win for everybody.
Everyone's going to be happy, everyone's going to make some
money.
It's going to.
Yes, it is going to require alittle bit of time, a little bit
of effort on your end, but Iknow we can make it happen and
that that's what I want to dowith you guys.
And anyway, off topic, but thatsparked a conversation that I
wanted to have with you guystoday, and it is on the topic of

(02:07):
money.
As you guys know, money is oneof the four pillars that I live
my life by Faith, family, fitness and finance.
We're going to be talking alittle bit about finances today
because I feel like the financeworld that we live in is 100%
backwards and it's not talkedabout enough and it needs to

(02:28):
become a regular conversation atthe dinner table, and by dinner
table I mean it needs to be aconversation that needs to be
had with friends, with family, with your kids.
It's important to do that.
I was actually in the car withmy brother and my little boy
today and my son he's almostseven and he was talking to my
brother and he's like my, my, myson he's, he's almost seven and
he was talking to my brotherand he's like I know what I want

(02:48):
to do when I get older.
He's like I want to fix uphouses, I want to run my own
company, and I thought that wassuper cool to hear, like it made
me so proud to, you know, hearmy, my seven-year-old son say
that he wanted to run a companysomeday, because that just shows
that you know he is listeningto what I am, what I'm saying.
And, um, you know, I try tomake the topic of money a pretty

(03:11):
open conversation and I've I'vetalked to him several times
about why making money isimportant and that it's not a
bad thing.
Like he just bought, um, hisown set of golf clubs a couple
of weeks ago and he was so proud, and you know, to do that with
his money and, granted, some ofthat was birthday money, but

(03:31):
some of that money like he'searned working, you know he's.
It's funny, like he really is alittle entrepreneur, like he's
gone to all of his grandparentsand be like, hey, can I clean
your baseboard for yourbaseboards and your house for
for five bucks.
Or can I do this, dad, can Icome clean your office?
And I'm like, yeah, dude, likefor sure, let's do it.
Anyway, it's kind of cool tosee that as a dad, just to you

(03:54):
know, see your kids start totake that initiative at such
young age and cause I rememberdoing the same thing and I
remember I remember mowing mygreat grandma's lawn for like 15
bucks every other Saturday andit was like the coolest thing
ever.
And anyway, a little bit offtopic, I wanted to talk to you
guys about increasing yourincome and I feel like there's

(04:16):
two paths that you can go down.
When it talks about you knowjust the conversation of money
and you can either save your wayor you can simply just earn
more money, and that's the onethat never gets talked about
like ever.
Everybody always talks aboutyou don't save your money, save
it, put it away, never touch it.

(04:37):
Like guys yes, I get it, havean emergency fund, but don't
just save to save.
Like you guys have to live life, you guys have to enjoy it.
You know, don't just save tosave Like.
You guys have to live life, youguys have to enjoy it.
You know, don't just save yourmoney for a rainy day.
I think that having a reserveof money is important, but, guys
, if you have hundreds ofthousands of dollars in the bank

(04:59):
, at least go invest itsomewhere.
Enjoy it a little bit.
Like me personally, I lovespending money, but I also hate
spending money.
You know if I'm going to dosomething fun yes, I love doing
that.
Do I love paying bills?
No, do I love paying taxes?
No.

(05:19):
But a few years ago, like, Ireally kind of just started to
think about you know what, if Iwant to live the life that I
want to live, I got to stopsaving money and I got to switch
something in my brain that says, justin, you need to go out and
earn more money.
And that's when I found sales, that's when I found real estate

(05:43):
and that's when I really kind offigured out you know what I can
make a lot of money.
And it all starts in my mind Ihave to be willing to tell
myself and to trick myself youknow what?
How can I afford this lifestyle.
I remember the house that meand my wife built three years
ago.
Pretty much that exact samehouse was on my vision board and

(06:05):
I wasn't trying to save my waythere.
I figured, or I started askingmyself, how can I afford that
house?
And that forced me to startmaking more money.
That's why having a visionboard is so and so important for
you guys.
If you guys don't know whereyou're heading, you're never
going to get there.

(06:27):
So one thing that I want youguys to focus on instead of I
need to save this much money todo this, start asking yourself
how can I make more money to getwhat I want?
Because saving is the long-termroute.
It's going to take you 10 timeslonger to save your way to
getting that new car versus youknow what.

(06:48):
How can I make a little bitmore money this month?
What can I do at my job to makemore money?
That's how my brain's wired,and I'm glad that it's that way,
you know, because I always, instead of just like oh, it's so
expensive, instead of sayingthat, I say how can I afford
that?
And I feel like it's workedpretty good for me.

(07:12):
And it's not financial advice,I mean.
You guys can do what you wantListen to your tax advisor,
listen to your parents that's upto you, but I feel like making
more money is easier than savinga little bit of money.
So guys start looking at lifelike how can I earn more?

(07:34):
And just know.
Like if you start talking topeople about this and they're
like dude, you don't need moremoney, like money's the root of
all evil, they're full of crap.
To put it plain and simple, guys Like these this is
something that you need to takeseriously, because it's your
life on the line, it's yourkids' life, and if you want to
start living life on your ownterms, you're going to have to

(07:55):
start making more money, andthere's nothing wrong with that.
You can do so many cool, incredible things with money.
So take that to heart, startapplying it, start asking
yourself how can I make moremoney?
And if you guys don't knowwhere to start, reach out.
I just offered you guys anincredible opportunity yesterday

(08:16):
to make more money.
So go and listen to thatepisode and then reach out to me
and let's have a conversation.
