Because I truly do believe ifyou are not growing, you are

(01:00):
path to living life on your ownterms.
And that is my whole purpose,my whole goal of this show, and
I need you guys, as thelisteners, to help me out with
sharing the show.
If you guys receive any sort ofvalue whatsoever, so what that
means is share it on your socialmedia, text it to a friend,
family member, whoever you feellike would maybe benefit from
this message.
But, guys, let's dive into it.

(01:21):
These episodes are fairly short, something you can listen to
right when you wake up in themorning or on your way to work.
I know your time is valuable,so let's dive into it.
Today's topic is going to beabout keeping your word and
keeping promises.
Now, why is keeping your wordso important?
Why is doing what you sayyou're going to do when you say

(01:42):
you're going to do it?
Why is that so important?
Because it builds trust.
You have to have trust inbusiness, in your relationships.
Every single person that youcome in contact with you have to
try and get them to trust you,to get to get to know you, and
keeping your word.
That's the best way to do it,you know.
So if I say that I'm going todo X Y Z for you know, susan

(02:05):
over here I'm going to make sureX Y Z gets completed.
Why?
Because I told her it was goingto get done.
You know, everybody hasdeadlines in their life, whether
it's with work.
You know, maybe your spouse hasa has a honeydew project that
you need to get done.
Once you tell them that you'regoing to do it, make sure that
you do it.
And Once you tell them thatyou're going to do it, make sure
that you do it.

(02:25):
And you have to make sure thatyou're setting time aside for
that specific thing, for thatspecific project.
You know, like with me and mywife, if she's listening to this
she's going to laugh.
But like I do not like honeydewprojects, like I get frustrated
and it just I don't know, it'ssomething mentally, maybe I need
to work through that and justbe more grateful for it.

(02:47):
But in reality, like I don'tlike honeydew projects and I'll
get to them when I'm ready toget to them.
But as long as I tell her, likeyou know, I will get it done,
I'll get it done.
You know.
So if you guys have deadlines atwork that you're trying to hit
and your boss is just breathingdown your back like when's this
going to get done, when's thisgoing to get done, make sure you
keep your word and finish it.

(03:07):
You know, if you tell someonethat you're going to do
something, do it.
You know, I think it's in themovie the Pursuit of Happiness,
when you know Will Smith and hisson.
They're up on the roof and he'stalking about you know, people
tell him that he can't, that hecan't do something, uh.
But then he says somethingalong the lines of if you tell
someone that you're going to doit, do it like, go out and make

(03:29):
it happen, you know, so keepyour word.
And that just doesn't.
That doesn't just apply to youknow other people.
You have to also keep your wordto yourself, like if you're
going down and you're writingout your, your checklist, for
you know the things you have toaccomplish that day, make sure
you accomplish those.
You know, yes, there's going tobe days where you may not get
to everything, but keep yourword.

(03:50):
If it doesn't get checked offthat day, make sure that that is
number one priority tomorrow, because the more and more that
you keep yourself accountable, the more you keep your word to
yourself.
It's going to not only you knowtrick not trick, but rewire
your brain to be more productive, but you're also going to be
able to start checking more andmore things off of your to-do

(04:11):
list, off of your vision boards, off of whatever, and then
you're going to find yourselffurther along progressing in
life.
And so that's why it's soimportant to keep your word, not
only to others, but also to you, because, I've said in the past
, you are the most importantperson on this planet you are.
It's not your spouse, it's notyour kids, because if you can't

(04:32):
take care of you, if you're notmaking sure that everything's in
line and check with you, you'reworthless to them.
So make sure you keep thosepromises to yourself, and once
you do that, you'll be able tokeep promises to other people.
Keep those promises to yourself, and once you do that, you'll
be able to keep promises toother people, and it's just kind
of a ripple effect and that'sgoing to eventually lead you to
having more success, being morefulfilled in life.
So, guys, go out and keep yourword, keep your promises to

(04:56):
yourself and, honestly, justkeep growing, keep building
those relationships.
I know you can do it.
So keep your word, guys.
We'll chat with you tomorrowlike living on your own terms.
