Speaker 1 (00:18):
Welcome back to the Freedom First podcast.
This is Justin Arrington, backon the mic with you once again.
Guys, it has been a minute.
We went 50 days in a row, 50days of straight podcasting,
dropping knowledge to you guysfor 50 days straight, and that
was honestly one of the most funthings that I've done with this

(00:39):
, with podcasting and, you know, putting messages out there.
That was honestly a really coolthing to do for me personally.
And if you guys listened to thelast episode, I did mention
that we were going to be takingit back just a little bit,
mainly for my sanity.
I don't want to lose the lovefor podcasting and doing it

(01:01):
every day.
It was taxing on me, I'll behonest.
It was really, really fun to do, but I wanted to make sure that
I was bringing the right valueto you guys every time that I
dropped an episode, and so, ifyou guys listened to the last
episode, I said that I was goingto cut it back to one or two a
week, and last week we went on alittle bit of a hiatus and I

(01:24):
did not drop an episode and Ijust kind of needed that reset,
like all of us do need every nowand then.
So we're back.
We're back and I think that weare going to try and stick to a
twice a week schedule for shows.

(01:44):
And yeah, that's where I'm atwith the podcast right now.
I do want to eventually getsome guests on the show.
There's a long list of peoplethat I'm hoping we can get on
here and you guys will just haveto stay tuned for that.
But lots of really cool thingscooking there and guys.

(02:06):
Welcome to the show.
Welcome to the Freedom Firstpodcast.
If this is your first timetuning in, this is a show where
we talk about personaldevelopment.
We talk about and when I say we, it's me.
I talk about personaldevelopment.
Why do I talk about personaldevelopment so much?
Why do I talk about personaldevelopment so much?
It's because I believe in it.
I believe in all of the crazythings that you hear about on

(02:30):
the internet of betteringyourself will better your future
and blah, blah, blah.
There's a bunch of differentthings out there and I'm
attracted to all of that.
Why?
Because it works.
Personal development works.
If you want to grow farther inlife, you have to work on
yourself.
You have to be willing to takeyourself out of your comfort
zone and start to apply yourself, start to actually contribute

(02:53):
to society, if we just decidedto put it that way.
So, guys, if that's whereyou're at, if you're beginning
your personal developmentjourney, I'm glad that you guys
have found this show.
I hope that there's some sortof value exchange from me to you
during the duration of thisshow.
However many episodes youlisten to, it doesn't matter.
All that I ask is that youshare the show with someone who

(03:16):
you feel like would benefit fromit, and I only want you to do
that if there was that valueexchange that I talked about.
I have been on a personaldevelopment journey now for
probably six years is probablywhen I first started getting
into it, and I had a podcastshow that I started early last

(03:38):
year.
We dropped like 32 or 33episodes like that.
It was called Awaken the PowerWithin and I love doing that.
I love doing that podcastbecause when I started it, it,
um, I was honestly gonna kind ofgoing through some really rough
patches in my life, at leastfinancially, and you know, just
the real estate market was kindof crapping out and it was tough

(04:01):
, and so I kind of shut thatpodcast down just because I
wasn't in the headspace that Iwanted to be when I dropped that
, but now we're back.
I revamped the podcast with theFreedom First podcast.
Why did I call it the FreedomFirst podcast?
It's because I believe thateveryone should be living a life
on their own terms.
We live in a free country.

(04:21):
It is the best country in theworld to live in, and we
pronounce ourselves as free, butare you actually free?
Are you free to do and say thethings that you really want to
do or say?
Are you able to, you know, spend time with your kids
whenever you want, or are youtied down by the man?

(04:41):
Are you able to travel when andwherever you want because you
want to?
Are you building a businessthat you're proud of?
Do you have employees?
Do you feel like yourspirituality is on point?
Because if you guys are notaligned with any of that, it's

(05:04):
time for you to startreprioritizing your life, and
you can do that right now If youguys go back and listen to the
previous episodes on this show.
There's a lot of.
I think I talked about lifeauditing probably three or four
times in those 50 episodes thatwe dropped.
Life auditing will work.
Life auditing will actuallyhelp you analyze and be like

(05:26):
holy crap, there's a lot thatI'm not doing in life that I
want to.
How can I fix that?
How can you fix it?
It starts with personaldevelopment.
So that's why freedom first.
I want everybody to live a freelife.
I want everybody to live it ontheir own terms.
That's why I love the introsong to this podcast show so

(05:50):
much.
Live it on your own terms.
This is your life.
No one else should be able todictate what you do.
So that's why we do the showand, with that said, I feel like
that was a long enough introfor you.
I told you that these episodesmight be a little bit longer,
since we're only dropping one ortwo a week.

(06:11):
But, guys, this is.
I wanted to share a quote withyou guys that I listened to at
the gym it was actually thismorning and it really kind of
I'd never heard it before andI'm really kind of shocked that
I haven't heard this before, because you know, like, like I
said, I love you know readingquotes.
I love you know the positiveaffirmation things, like.

(06:32):
I mean, you guys might think itthink it's hippie, dippy stuff,
but I like it, you know.
I feel like it brightens up myday, and so usually every
morning I listened to some sortof like affirmations or you know
some motivational thing onYouTube and, um, you guys might
give me crap because I talkabout how motivation is bull
crap, but it is, but it isn't.
You know, like you can be, youcan be motivated for a time and

(06:54):
that's just how I like to startmy days.
I like to, you know, have havethat hype man there.
That's there to you know, kindof shake me, wake me up and just
be like look, today we're goingto dominate the day and do all
that we can to you know, reachour, reach our potential goals
and and everything like that.
So I do believe there is a timeand place for motivation, but
ultimately, discipline is whatwill get you the things that you
want in life.

(07:14):
Um, so, anyway, as I waslistening to um, it might've
even been the podcast that Ilistened to this morning, I
don't know.
It's that.
That's irrelevant, um, but thequote that I wanted to share
with you guys is this there'sseven days in a week and someday
is not one of them.
Let me read.
Let me read that to you guysagain there is seven days in the

(07:36):
week and someday isn't one ofthem.
What does that mean?
I'm talking to you guys who aresitting there on the fence.
You're sitting thereprocrastinating and putting off
the life that you want to live.
There's Monday, tuesday,wednesday, thursday, friday,
saturday, sunday, but there isno someday.

(07:58):
So stop saying someday I'mgoing to go out and do this.
Someday I'm going to starttreating my family better.
Someday I'm going to go buildthis massive company that's
going to give me financialfreedom in the time that I
ultimately want.
Someday I'll go to the gym.
Someday I'll get fit.
Someday I'll eat better.
Someday, someday, someday.

(08:20):
How many times have you toldyourself someday I will become
the best version of myself?
But then guess what?
Nah, I'll do it tomorrow.
Nah, I'll start next Monday.
Nah, the year's almost over,I'll just start January 1st.
How many more times are yougoing to do that?

(08:43):
It's got to stop.
You guys, over the last coupleof weeks, I've actually been
really diving deep on what it isthat I want.
Where do I want my company tobe?
How do I want my finances tolook, how do I want my time to
be spent and I've wanted thatfor years and even though that

(09:07):
I've had a great amount ofsuccess, even though I've been
able to do a lot of really coolthings and, um, you know, make a
decent amount of money.
It made me take a step back andbe like you know what I'm
really not.
I'm not even close to where Iwant to be.
So, instead of saying, somedayI'll do this, how about you make

(09:29):
it today?
So, instead of saying, somedayI'll do this, how about you make
it today?
What's that one thing thatimmediately pops in your mind
when I ask you what does yourdream life look like?
What's the first thing thatpopped into your brain?
How long have you been puttingthat thing off?
How long?
I know a lot of the listeners onthis show like you're either

(09:54):
wanting to get intoentrepreneurship or maybe you're
really, really early on.
You know what are you waitingfor?
You know, if you're on thefence of starting a business,
waiting two or three more yearsis only going to set you back
another 10 to 15.
So why are you putting it off?
What's holding you back?
And you may be sitting therelike, well, I don't have the.

(10:20):
I don't have the finances toget started.
Or you know what, if it doesn'twork, you guys, if that, if
those are the excuses thatyou've been telling yourself for
the last few years, or howeverlong it's been.
Maybe it's just not for you, maybe you were meant to be just
an average Joe?
Were you meant to be an averageJoe?
No, god put you on this planetto be something.

(10:44):
He put you on this planet to begreat, and even though that
there's hard times that you haveto go through in order to grow,
it's worth it.
It's worth it if it's somethingthat you really really want.
You know, back when I was likeearly on in my entrepreneurship
journey, like I had this idea, like you know what I want to be

(11:06):
a billionaire and guess what Ireally don't?
I don't.
You know, there's a lot morethat's important to me than
being a billionaire.
That just wasn't aligned withwhat I want in my life.
You know, I've had theopportunity several times

(11:27):
throughout the last few years tolike really break it down into
what it is that I want with mylife.
You know, what kind of car do Iwant to drive?
Where do I ultimately want tolive?
Do I have a vacation home?
Am I?
Am I uh, you know, making theor taking the family trips that
I want to?
Am I able to spend date nightsthe way that I want to?
Can I attend my kids' uh, youknow soccer games or basketball

(11:48):
games, baseball games, whateverthey got going on?
I attend my kids' soccer gamesor basketball games, baseball
games, whatever they got goingon.
Yes, I still have dreams and yes, I'm not close to where I
ultimately want to be, butthere's a lot of things that I
haven't been able to check off.
I have not missed one of mykids' athletic events ever, and
I think that's something to besuper proud of in today's world.
That's something to be superproud of in today's world.

(12:11):
You know, like I, I don't wantanything like.
If I had to pick one thing outof everything that I had on,
like my vision boards oranything that I wanted to
accomplish, it would be to spendas much time with my kids as
possible.
That would be.
That would be it Spending timewith family, because that's
what's most important to me, andso what I do is I take the
goals that I have in my life andI create those around my

(12:34):
household.
I create things that are inline with what me and my family
want.
Someday you'll do that.
Someday you'll live the life ofyour dreams.
Someday you'll live the life ofyour dreams.

(12:55):
Someday could be 50, 60 yearsfrom now.
Are you going to wait that long?
If you're listening to this showright now, I want you to make
the decision today to be great.
There's seven days in a weekand someday is not one of them,

(13:21):
but today is Plant your flagtoday to become great.
It's that simple.
I hope I've been able to poundthat in your guys's brain enough
.
So, guys, what are you going todo today?
I want you to think of onething that immediately popped
into your brain when I asked youwhat it is that you ultimately

(13:43):
wanted.
So, guys, with that said, that's all I have for you.
I will probably be droppinganother episode.
Look for it.
I'm guessing Thursday.
I'm still trying to dial inthis new schedule.
Look for it on Thursday.

this together.

who is, uh, is maybe strugglingright now, or maybe you want to
