He's taking it back to themotherland.
Oh, that's right.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Well, he kind of blew
the whole operation then there.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
You know he gets
confused sometimes and he took a
left turn at Albuquerque and heended up in Calgary.
Speaker 6 (02:13):
He's got a whole
Smokey and the Bandit situation
going.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
He's bounding down.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
There we go.
Alright, that's an old movie.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Look it up, we've
already lost everybody, damn it
up.
We've already lost everybody, damn it, we've already lost?

Well, we use that money forthings.
Yeah, to put new tires inRoger's car from bootlegging all
the gin, that's true, that'strue.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
And tricks and pain
for hips.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
And pain for hips?
Yes, that too, oh, my goodness.
All right, so let's see us.
Thank you, patreon members, andif you wish to donate to the
GamerHeads family what was thatagain, phil Patreoncom backslash
.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Backslash
GamerHeadsPod, I don't know.
I made the entire thing up.
If you go there and it's notthere, just go to Patreon and
search GamerHeadsPodcast, you'llfind it.
Give us money, dammit.
Speaker 6 (03:36):
We're like PBS, but
nicer and we also ask that you
visit our website.
And, phil, what's the name ofthe website that they can go to?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
The name of that
website is I accidentally
swallowed a beer down the wrongthroat to start with.
Gamerheadspodcastcom.
You can get reviews, read newsarticles, interviews.
You can buy stuff.
There's interviews.
There might even still be linksto other podcasts.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
Roger is selling a
12-month calendar of himself.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Really.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
Yeah, all these
different pinups of.
Roger with different gamesystems.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Damn it.
I was hoping he was in bigfloral sundresses.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
Well, that's June.
You just spoiled the June one.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Can I buy 12 months
of June?
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Yes, We'll see what
we can do.
Maybe if you're a Patreonsupporter we can get that to you
.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
That's a $10 tier.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
All right.
So you see, everybody, this ishow the show goes.
It's just total chaos and it'sstupid and we all make idiots of
ourselves.
All right, so we're going toactually welcome our new crew
members that are here.
We'll start, trina.
You've been on the show before,so why don't you go ahead and
introduce yourself again andjust let us know what are some
of your favorite games and orvideo game genres?
Speaker 7 (04:54):
Yeah, so my name is
Trina and I've been here before,
of course, and Roger's not here, so I can't make fun of him,
but I'll try my best to throw alittle sass the other way.
Um, I have been playing a lotof, uh, the very small indie
games lately and, um, one ofthem is Symphonia that just came
(05:20):
out today and another game that, uh, I have sunk way too many
hours in for no good reason.
Uh, lost but found um outsideof indie games.
I really like playing destiny.
I really like playing finalfantasy 14.
Um, so a lot of games on myplate, but still gaming.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Awesome, all right,
thank you, and welcome Tria.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
when we get to games
you're playing, I'm going to ask
you about Symphonia.
I'm intrigued by that game.
Speaker 7 (05:53):
Yeah, of course Cool.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
All right.
So next up, zeb, we'll let youtake the floor.
Tell us a little bit aboutyourself.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Zeb.
I've reviewed a couple games sofar for gamer heads, like uh,
baby blues, nightmare andpinball spire, and I love video
games.
Favorites genres have to belike shooters and adventure
basic.
Basically, genre is story.
If it has a good story, I don'tcare what kind of gameplay it
is, I'm going to want to play it.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
What would you say?
Your favorite shooter is?
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Cyberpunk.
Okay, that's a long one.
How many?
Speaker 6 (06:36):
hours did you put
into that one?
Because that's got threedifferent stories right.
You could be three differentbackgrounds.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
I've done three
playthroughs of that game so far
.
Speaker 7 (06:51):
I was going to say
what are you going?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
to do in your next
playthrough.
I really want to do a fourthone, because I always pick a
main weapon of choice to keepthroughout the whole playthrough
.
So I just want to keep doing itover and over again.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
There's nothing wrong
with that.
That means it's a good game.
If you want to keep doing itover and over again, nice,
there's nothing wrong with that.
That means it's a good game ifyou want to run through it that
many times I mean the music justcaptures me.
So yeah, that's great what haveyou played it on?
Um well, xbox, playstation andpc actually yeah is the pc the
best running one so far?
Speaker 3 (07:25):
oh yeah, yeah,
playstation xbox comparable at
this point I see it's not a faircomparison because I have a
xbox series s so it's not aspowerful as like the x would be,
because I would feel like the Xshould be compared to the PS5
but the S is like a lower budgetso it can't compare, I think.
(07:51):
But I mean it ran fine.
That was the first way I played.
It was on Xbox and back wheneveryone said it was glitchy and
I didn't have a problem.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
Well, welcome aboard
Zen and Jake, you are next.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Tell, tell us a
little about yourself, buddy.
Uh, hi, um, I'm jake, so, uh, Ihaven't actually reviewed
anything for gamer heads yet, um, but hopefully you see me keep
an eye out for that.
Um, for games, um, kind of allover the place, I really like
(08:31):
rpg games.
Um, any sort of like fantasyI'm super into, but then I also
am really into like more farmbuilding games as well, like
stardew valley and um palia andstuff like that as well.
But, um, I'm also huge intolike dark souls games, like
(08:56):
those really difficult games.
So I've been doing a lot ofthat.
So, yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:05):
Nice Do you prefer
for your RPGs?
Do you prefer turn-based oraction Action?
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Action Good answer.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Yeah, I do like
turn-based Like I've been a huge
Pokemon fan for a super longtime and that's kind of like the
root, kind of like the the rootturn base.
You could say um, so, but yeah,uh, even like the new um final
(09:38):
fantasy 7 game, it, it beingkind of more action based than
the turn based, would reallyinterested me.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
So yeah, cool,
awesome well once again welcome
to the go ahead phil what do youtypically play on when you game
?
Sorry, what do you typicallyplay on like?
What is your console or pc ofchoice?
Speaker 5 (10:01):
oh god, um of choice,
oh god, um pc um.
I also have a steam deck thatis really good for kind of like
more um, like turn-based or likefarming sims, you know, like
anything that's not.
You can throw on a tv show andjust kind of play on the on the
(10:22):
steam deck is really fun.
But I also have a PlayStation 5and a Switch.
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Nice.
Main reason I asked is becausethere was a new farming
simulator type of game that justdropped on the Xbox on Game
Pass.
I don't remember what it'scalled off the top of my head,
but I was curious if you wouldcheck that out and your thoughts
on it.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Yeah, I don't know.
Is it that over-the-ground?
Yeah, I don't know.
Is it that Overthrown?
Yeah, it's called somethinglike.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Overthrown or some
shit like that.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Yeah, okay, now I'll
have to see Okay.
Speaker 6 (10:57):
I thought I read that
.
Who is it?
Playtonic?
The developers who madeYooka-Laylee.
They're working on a farmingsim game no kidding really yeah,
I think I mean I might be wrong, and that's why we need roger
here to fact check me, because Icould just make stuff up.
Yeah sure, why not?
Yeah yeah, sega's coming backinto the hardware, so yeah, yeah
(11:19):
, dreamcast too.
So, um, but that looks prettyinteresting too.
Uh, all right, be like too whatwas that, jake?
Speaker 5 (11:27):
I was just going to
say.
I wonder if it would be like aBanjo Kazooie farming that'd be
some shit.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
I think it's like a
pixel graphic type game do you
get into games like Civilizationand SimCity as well, or do you
just enjoy the farming aspect ofthings, where it's just the
mindless build, not mindless, but the building out of like a,
a plot and or a house and typeof running that shit?
Speaker 5 (11:52):
yeah, I had a a fair
bit of time in civ I've.
I played a, I played a lot ofciv 5 when that was out, um, and
then I did play a fair bit ofCities Skyline opposed to like
the SimCity and stuff like that.
But yeah, those are two reallyreally cool games.
(12:13):
Heck of a lot of DLC for themtoo.
Oh yeah, yeah, cool.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
All right, well, yeah
Well, welcome aboard.
We hope to see more of you onthe show, as we do additional
episodes every week.
And where can I'm sorry, phil, where can somebody get the
GamerHeads Podcast from?
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh, you can get it
from GamerHeadsPodcastcom.
Oh, that's right.
You can also get it whereveryou find any of your audio
medium places, such as Spotify, itunes, apple Music, which is
the exact same thing as iTunesand probably no longer exists.
Apple Music, which is the exactsame thing as iTunes and
probably no longer exists.
You can even say to your smartdevice, like in Alexa hey, alexa
, play the new episode ofGamerHeads Podcast.
I don't know if it works or not, but I'm going to tell you,
listener, that it does.
Speaker 6 (12:53):
It's worked, I've
done it.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
No shit.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
Yeah, seriously did.
Yeah.
She replied like are you reallysure you want to listen to this
?
I really sure you want tolisten to this, because it's not
.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I'd be like don't
tell me what to do, just play
the damn show.
Are you sure you want thenewest episode, don't you want?
Like the one from five episodesago where it wasn't that bad?
Alright?
Speaker 6 (13:14):
and then, before we
get into everything, we got one
more bit of business to go over, and that is I'll tell you what.
I had an argument with myfamily because, like I said
earlier, I'm from theChicagoland area.
If you're from Chicago, there'sone thing we pride ourselves on
, and that's violence in ourcity and pizza.
(13:40):
So the argument I had with mywife was I want real pizza
tonight and she wanted PapaJohn's pizza.
So the argument I had with mywife was I want real pizza
tonight and she wanted PapaJohn's pizza.
That's not real pizza andthat's not real pizza.
But it became real pizza when Iadded one extra ingredient to
it and that is Seven Bridges YumYum Sauce.
An official sponsor of theGamer Heads podcast.
(14:02):
An official sponsor of theGamerHeads podcast.
You can get Seven Bridges YumYum Sauce on Amazon.
Still right, right, phil.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah, it's still on
Amazon for now it's.
Also if you're in theMinneapolis Twin Cities area, it
is in a bunch of the localgrocery stores, as well as a
handful of meat markets and fishmarkets.
Places like Kowalski's arecarrying it now.
So is Damn it.
No one brought a blank on thename of the other one.
Ah damn, there's another localgrocery store that's also
carrying it.
(14:30):
We also have it in a couple ofthe Sheil's around here as well,
which is mainly known as asporting goods store, but they
do have a food supply section, and I still have three bottles
for each, you and Roger that Ineed to send out to you, but I
am anti-post office.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
You're the Pony
Express.
Get it that way.
Go old school.
Speaker 7 (14:46):
I was going to say
it's been like what two months
since I've been Trina have.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I already told you to
watch your damn mouth or no,
this is great Trina.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
no, keep up the sass.
I love it.
Just don't direct it at me.
Keep it going over there.
You're over here.
Trina's right there.
He's over there for meListeners.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
I wish you could see
all the finger action we had
going right now.
We're all pointing in thedirection of where Mike is, and
it turns out he's not at thesame spot for any of us.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
I'm in the top left
corner on my screen.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
I don't know, if
that's correct, the reflection.
Speaker 7 (15:18):
That's where you are
for me top left.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Yeah, you're in my
top left as well.
Speaker 6 (15:21):
Yeah, you're in my
top left as well?
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Oh, all right.
Well then I'll stay here.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Stop pointing at me
Trina's right here.
Speaker 6 (15:29):
But anyways, yeah,
seven Bridges, yum, yum Softs.
It takes terrible pizza andmakes it edible.
That should be the slogan.
If you're a big fan of PapaJohn's pizza here's the thing If
you're a big fan of Papa John'spizza, you don't have to take
offense to it.
Their breadsticks are good andthey have these cinnamon
(15:50):
pull-aparts that are awesome.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
And the garlic butter
is decent as well.
Speaker 6 (15:52):
The garlic butter is
pretty good, yeah, but it's
better when you add SevenBridges Yum Yum Sauce.
Available now at your fineretailers in the Minneapolis
area.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
And Amazon.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
All right, maybe even
directly off the website too.
I think Minneapolis area andAmazon Alright.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Maybe even directly
off the website too, I think.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
What might that
website be?
Speaker 2 (16:10):
HelloFinocom.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Probably
SevenBridgesSaucescom is my
guess.
Alright.
Well, let's jump into gamesthat we're playing.
I'll tell you what Zeb do youwant to go first?
Have you played any gameslately?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Oh yeah, sure.
Right now I'm playing FinalFantasy 7 Rebirth to try to
finish at least one of thenominees for Game of the Year
besides just Astro Bot, and I'malso playing 1000 Resist, 1000x
Resist.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Dude, that game's
fucking weird I'm like three.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
I'm on chapter four
right now and that's the game
I'm kind of see where it's goingbut yeah, it's an odd one, but
everyone's been talking about itso I had to see it, and it's
also nominated in the indie gameof the year show, so it's like
kind of hitting well, two birdswith two stones, I guess.
But playing two games that areboth going to be in a Game of
(17:11):
the Year kind of aspect, nice, and I've been enjoying both.
Speaker 6 (17:16):
Good Now have you
played Astro Bot?
Let me ask you a question Inyour honest opinion, is it a
killer exclusive?
What I mean by that is is thatone game worth buying a PS5 over
?
And the reason I bring this upis because I have some trading
(17:37):
credit and I have some giftcards and the PS5 is on sale and
I can get it at a good price.
Don't steer him wrong.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Don't look at me like
that.
Speaker 6 (17:47):
Phil, don't worry, I
still love my Switch.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
I'm not mad.
What I was looking at?
1000x Resist.
I was curious if it's the gamethat I played or not.
It is that game's weird as shit.
Speaker 6 (17:58):
So I already have a
Switch and a Series X Right and
I go back and forth of whetheror not I should get a PS5.
And I'm excited about Astro Bot.
I'm not a big Final Fantasyperson, sorry, but I like Silent
Hill and I like Astro Bot.
(18:19):
That looks pretty fun.
So I'm just wondering if, inyour opinion and anybody else
who played it, feel free tochime in is a PS5, like you
could say and again I'm going toage myself here the Nintendo 64
was worth it for Mario 64 aloneor for Goldeneye alone to me?
You know those exclusive games.
(18:40):
So would you say the PS5 isworth the purchase price solely
for astrobot hmm, I are you, ifyou're a huge fan of platformers
I love platformers, love themand no, like old playstation
history, like ps1, ps2 era, Ithink.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Then it's so like I
smiled, though I couldn't not
smile the entire time I playedit, and with the PS5 controller
it was pretty awesome.
I don't know if it's worthbecause it's a short game, so I
don't know if it's worth gettinga PS5 exclusively for that.
But if you want Silent Hill 2or any other PS5 exclusive,
(19:26):
because there are tons still- no, there's not.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
You're lying to us,
zeb, you're as bad as Trina
there's still more exclusivesthan the Xbox.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
I also am going to
throw in that Ghost of Yotai
comes out next year, fair, and Iam very, very excited for that.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
And.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
I would buy a
PlayStation 5 for that game
alone.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
All right.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Zeb.
In all fairness, I'm a hugeXbox fan and I'm not
anti-PlayStation by any means.
I just don't have a PlayStation5, and I do everything that I
can to talk myself out ofwanting and or needing one
that's what I was, so I so Ihave to poo-poo on people that
are all pro playstation, andit's mainly because I don't want
to spend the 500 on playing thethree games that I can't play
(20:19):
on the xbox right, and I mean,if you wait a year it'll come to
pc anyway.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Yeah, that doesn't do
.
I just don't want to wait yeahI don't want to wait, oh yeah,
if you don't have a pc then get.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
Get both also the I
don't know, does the controller
work on pc as well?
Speaker 3 (20:41):
the ps5 controller
yeah, like does it have yeah
yeah, there's some games thatapparently I need to like
actually verify this for surebut I've heard that, yeah, there
are some games that have comeout on steam that, if you use
the ps5 controller, give you thesame haptic feedback as if you
were playing on the ps5 console.
So in theory they could releaseAstro Bot on Steam and give you
(21:05):
the controller.
Maybe a bundle would be perfectController and the game, so
then you could play it, becauseyou really need the controller
to play it.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Okay, alright.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
You know, Phil, it's
$400 now at GameStop.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Yeah, but that means
I gotta go to GameStop.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
I know we we went on
anti-GameStop rants a few months
ago.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
You don't want to get
the PlayStation 5 Pro.
No, don't start 700 bucks noplease start.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Start the debate.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
I don't think there
would be a debate.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
There is Idiotic.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
Alright, so, zeb, you
plan anything else?
I don't think there would be adebate.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
There is Idiotic All
right, so Zeb you playing
anything?
Speaker 6 (21:49):
else.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Usually my go-to's
are Destiny 2 and Final Fantasy
XIV which I'm pretty sure Jake'sgoing to say the same and
Dreamland.
But yeah, those are my main twogames that I go back to.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Do you three all play
clan up in Destiny?
Is that how you guys all knoweach other?
That is dope.
Have you guys met in real life?
Speaker 4 (22:14):
I've met.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Trina and I have.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
I haven't met Jake
yet he's Canadian, I wasn't
going to point out the fact thatI detected the small Canadian
accent.
That is so cool that three ofyou guys I wasn't going to point
out the fact that I detectedthe small Canadian accent.
That is so cool that the threeof you guys know each other from
Destiny.
Some of my best friends I knowfrom playing Overwatch and I
think it's fantastic that thegaming community actually brings
people together on this type ofa level where you have entire
(22:37):
text threads.
And I've met those two guys inreal life.
I hang out with them at leastonce a year.
I go and visit them or theycome and visit here.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
It's awesome that's
so cool.
Nice job.
Sorry, I'm stoked.
Yeah, it's been cool, that'sawesome.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
Well, jake, how about
you?
What have you been playing?
Oh god, um.
Okay, so I got back intoenshrouded Um.
I I picked up that game I thinkin March, um, I think, um, and
I played like a good amount ofhours into it and kind of got to
(23:18):
a point where they it's anearly access game.
So I I kind of got to thatpoint where I had everything and
I was, I was like content withit.
Um, so I haven't picked it upin a couple months and they,
they just added like a new, newbiome and like brand new you can
(23:39):
like have, uh, like livestockand pets and everything.
They've added so much stuff.
So I've been really enjoyingthat game.
It's so much fun and it reallyitches my RPG as well as kind of
(24:01):
my building sim type of game.
So yeah, I've been reallyenjoying that nice um yeah for
knuckleheads like me, jake, giveme, give us, a basic run
through of what enshrouded isimagine you're playing skyrim
(24:22):
and everything is breakable, okay, and you can pick up those
pieces and then build your ownstuff okay um, so there's,
there's like a skill tree, there's a huge skill tree in it.
Um, there's lots of monsters tolike fight and stuff, um, but
(24:46):
then, yeah, there's this.
It it feels like two separategames, like it could be two
separate games, uh, but it's.
It's so well put together andlike just the, the way that you
can build in that game.
I've never seen anything likethat in any other game.
Like it.
It kind of uses like the, thevoxel system I think that's what
(25:10):
it's called.
Um, so everything's kind of inpieces, but you can, you can
build upon that, and some peoplehave made like sometimes I'll
just go on reddit and I'll lookat builds that people have made,
because they're just it'sinsane what people can build in
that game.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
So yeah, is there an
end game to it or is it just
kind of an endless fuck aroundadventure, for lack of a better
phrase pretty much um, there'snot, there's.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
There's a lot of
quests.
Like it's not like likeminecraft, where you kind of
just go in and then you're likeokay, I'm just going to start,
there's lots of quests, you getpeople.
So you get different peoplethat come and hang out at your
(25:59):
base that you can summon, andthen it'll be like a carpenter
or something like that that youcan summon, and then it will be
like a carpenter or somethinglike that.
And once you get the carpenter, then you can start building
specific things the carpentercan build.
And then they might have aquest when it's like oh, if you
get me this table saw that Ilost in this bandit camp I can
(26:22):
start building other stuff.
So it kind of like builds offof that and you can keep Keep
like building other stuff.
So it kind of like builds offof that and you can keep keep
like unlocking new stuff andwhatnot.
It's really cool, okay.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
So there is like a
narrative to it as well, then.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Kind of yeah, yeah,
there's, yeah, it's, it's.
There's like a whole story andstuff and there's lots of like,
if you're really into like loreand stuff, there's like books
around all the different campsand stuff that you find that you
can read stuff about.
It's really cool.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Okay, sounds pretty
dope, yep.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
So yeah, I've been
playing that a lot and I'll
continue to play that game a lotuntil I get bored again.
And I just picked up MarvelRivals.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
I just downloaded it
as well.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
Yeah, me and Zeb were
just playing that before we
hopped on here.
It's so much fun.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
Is it.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Yeah, there's so many
heroes and they all have their
own kind of quips and it's justit's.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
It's really cool and
I want to play more, so I don't
I don't, really don't want toget into a whole a new
free-to-play games or likebattle passes and stuff too so,
yeah, it does have a battle pass.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
Um, we were, we were
just looking at it.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
It looks like it's
like five bucks for, like, the
season zero one is like fivebucks and the good thing about
don't mean to cut you off, nolike one of the best parts about
it if you have a busy life isyou buy the battle pass.
Speaker 7 (28:08):
You can come back
like two years down the road and
finish it oh no shit, that'ssmart yeah, yeah, all right,
something similar to that too, because I remember I played that
for a while and then stoppedand then came back and I was
like oh, I can still finish thisbattle pass from like a year
ago, okay, cool so I I'm gonnabe me here for a couple of
(28:31):
minutes.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
I'm sorry, mike, but
I, as a big overwatch player, I
have marvel rivals.
Questions have?
You guys played yeah, a littlebit okay how similar is it?
Speaker 5 (28:44):
it's quite similar.
It's um the.
I guess the big thing is it'sit's third person, right um so
can you switch that to first?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
are you forced to
play in third?
Speaker 5 (28:57):
no, and I I don't
think it would work well in
first person.
Just the the way that uh,abilities work in that game and
stuff like that.
There's a lot of fast moving,yeah, and there's a lot of melly
focused heroes, okay, so someof them are right up, right up
(29:20):
on you and stuff like that, andlike I feel like I'd get motion
sickness playing spider-man andthen no, that makes perfect
sense, yeah yeah, so, um, butlike, even like the little like
hit ticker, um, it looks exactlylike overwatch.
Like it sounds exactly likeoverwatch and every, every
(29:43):
character has their own ultimateand stuff like that.
Um, one of the cool things, though that we were means that
we're looking at before, is thatcertain heroes kind of mesh
together yeah, you can likecombo right yeah, yeah.
So like, um, like you can playas rocket raccoon and then also
(30:06):
someone can play as group andthen, like rocket raccoon can
like climb on top of brute andthen do like a special and stuff
like that, and there there'slike a whole like page on like
what each kind of hero likeconnects with other heroes.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
It's really cool so
Well, it was nice talking to you
guys.
I got to run.
See you guys later Sounds likeI got some fresh crack upstairs
to smoke.
I'll be back.
Speaker 6 (30:31):
Yeah it's that that
does sound a lot of fun and I do
love Marvel, but I I don't know, I'm going to.
I'm going to if you know theheroes.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
If you know the
heroes, free mic it's good,
because they're true to theirheroes.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
You guys are playing
on PC though, right?
Speaker 5 (30:50):
Yeah, yeah, but I
think it's cross-platform, isn't
it, I'm sure?
Speaker 6 (30:56):
it is.
Everything is nowadays.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Considering you have
to friend people within the game
, that usually means it'scross-platform, I think.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
You guys should hit
me up after I create my account,
about 10 minutes after we alllog off of here.
My username is gonna beBoredNow23, with a capital B and
a capital N, and it's bored,like I ain't got shit to do.
Also, that goes to all of youlisteners too.
Feel free to hit me up.
I'll play with people.
I don't care.
I play Overwatch every nightand if I have something else to
play, that's exactly likeOverwatch.
(31:29):
It's a nice warm-up for.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Overwatch.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
There you go.
It does sound fun.
I'm going to have to startwatching some streams of it
before I take the plunge.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
I was also very
surprised on how well the game
worked.
I was gonna ask with it beingout for two hours and 43 minutes
.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
As we speak, there's
been no performance issues no no
server issues no match
Speaker 7 (31:59):
right away, like yeah
, yeah nothing, didn't our one
friend have some issues?
What was that?
Speaker 5 (32:04):
just his pc I think
that was his pc.
He got it figured out too, sooh, did he okay yeah, I think he
just had to change somegraphics settings or something
sounds.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Sounds fun.
Okay, yeah, now my interest haspeaked on that one, so thank
you for thank.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Thank you for Now.
We're not going to spend somemore money on it.
No, free.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Mike, I thought the
Battle Pass was five bucks.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
That's a Battle Pass,
you don't need the Battle Pass,
Mike.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
That's just the devil
on your shoulder tapping you
going, yo dog give me fivedollars.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Here you go, take
your five dollars.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
And it's good,
forever, mike.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
That's five5 that
never expires, that's true.
So you're the devil on myshoulder.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
You're a really cool
skin for Black Panther right
away.
Speaker 6 (32:54):
That was really cool
well, what else are you playing,
jay?
Speaker 7 (32:59):
they're going to want
to add the podcast right here
hold on, there's a newcompetitive shooter out, I gotta
go.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Like I said, I wasn't
kidding, I gotta go anything
else you're playing?
Speaker 5 (33:13):
just, I guess I
should say Destiny 2 and Final
Fantasy 4, that's all goodthat's fine, we default you hate
those games so much?
Speaker 6 (33:26):
yeah, phil and I have
our default games too.
So yeah, you feel free to saydestiny 2, no problem oh, I hate
overwatching the show.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
I just keep going
back to him, except an attic
cool, all right trina.
Speaker 6 (33:37):
How about you?
Speaker 7 (33:40):
well, I'll start out
with our default games Destiny 2
and Final Fantasy 14.
But yeah, I mentioned some ofthe games before.
So Lost but Found that came outlast week and I don't know why
(34:02):
I sunk so many hours into it,but I think it's just kind of
more of the satisfaction.
But I think it's just kind ofmore of the satisfaction.
So, essentially, you are aperson who works at an airport
but you're not like TSA oranything I've seen this one
You're the person that gets likethe lost items.
Yeah, and people come up to youand you give them their lost
item and there's like crazyitems like a cat in a cage or,
(34:24):
um, a sandwich, and it's likewhy is this person coming for
this lost item?
But all right, um.
And then there's like otherelements to it too.
There's like a homeless guythat asks you for something and
every time, like he gave me anote and it just said, like
ducks, and I was so confused Idon't know why he was giving me
a note about ducks.
(34:44):
And there's also a black market.
You can buy like fancy tools andstuff with the money that you
earned.
Um, like one of them was like amagnifying glass to see how
much items are worth and stuff.
So you have a lot of stuff onyour table.
You can can like throw thingsin the trash if it's like only
worth $5 or something, andthere's a store.
(35:09):
And then you can also get likepromotions in your job and stuff
and I don't know.
I think I'm on day like 63 orsomething.
I have played way too much ofthis game and there's a couple
like buildings that that saidlike more uh content coming soon
.
So I'm sure they have someupdates and stuff planned, but I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
I've been sinking a
lot of hours into it is there an
end game to that as well, or isit just open world endless?
Speaker 7 (35:36):
there is I
technically have beat it um,
there's a bank or whatever andyou could give it 30K.
It says you beat the game, congrats, and I'm like.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
I don't really know
what that means, but I did it so
.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
I think, there's an
element of like you're supposed
to like send money home orwhatever.
So I think maybe that 30K islike you're moving out, you're
living big or something I don'tknow.
But there's some story piecethat I think is missing out with
that game, but it's still verygood what are you playing um?
(36:14):
pc.
I tried to play it on my uhsteam deck last week when I was
at my parents for Thanksgiving, but because it was like only a
day or two old, uh, it wouldn'tlet me quite play it yet, so
wouldn't work, got it Gotcha.
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (36:31):
I think I saw it on
sale on on on the uh steam
autumn sale and it lookedinteresting.
Is it so?
Is it like a puzzle game, or isit?
Speaker 7 (36:46):
Kind of not really
like items will come on the
conveyor belt.
You'll take the items off theconveyor belt to put on your
table.
If you don't take them off, youlose money.
And then people will come up toyou and say I lost this item
and you just have to like dragit to them and then some items
will have like mini gamesassociated with them.
So like you click on it and youlike take a sticker off or uh,
one of them that I didn't finduntil like day 50, uh, was a
(37:12):
briefcase and it has acombination lock on it and I
opened it up and all the timesbefore that when I would open it
up, there was nothing in it.
And then on day 50, I opened itand there's a freaking bomb
inside.
I had to defuse the bomb and Ididn't defuse the bomb correctly
and it blew up and it was gameover.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
And I was like what
the heck?
Speaker 7 (37:36):
Where did this come
from all of a sudden?
So it did have some like fun, surprise elements to it, for
sure.
Speaker 6 (37:43):
That's interesting.
That's it.
I'm gonna have to take a lookum, and then the other one.
You're muted at all or almost.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
We didn't hear you,
oh yeah son of a bitch, I was
muted um.
Is it available on other thingsor just on the steam?
Speaker 7 (38:00):
I'm not sure.
I have not looked, so that'sfair steam for sure, I put you
on the spot I would maybe hopeswitch, because no?
Speaker 6 (38:10):
phil doesn't like the
switch.
No, he hates it.
That's his thing, it's not athing, it's a real thing.
Speaker 7 (38:16):
I don't know, I'm
just making fun of him.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Yeah, now you're
talking the right language,
Trina.
Thanks for coming back.
I knew I liked you.
Speaker 7 (38:24):
Then the other game
that I have been playing, at
least this week, is Symphonia, and after this podcast podcast,
I will be getting my officialreview up on the site and that
game just came out todayactually, but I obviously played
it ahead of time and it is.
(38:45):
I played it back when I was inSeattle.
We went to this event calledthe Mix, which essentially is
like a bunch of more developersat a little party and they give
us free drinks and stuff forbeing press and it was really
fun, um, but I played it there.
I played the demo and it's likeHollow Knight, uh, mixed with,
(39:07):
mixed with like the theatrics ofbrain work.
What did I say in my review?
Phantom of the Opera, so like, think of, like Phantom of the
Opera, like he's got that maskon and everything.
And then Hollow Knight, theplatforming aspects of it, and
(39:29):
you are essentially trying tobring music and sound back into
this world and you kind of gothrough and things are just like
eerie and quiet and the musickind of goes along with that and
you find different things andyou play your violin to get like
platforms and things to move orplants to grow and or like this
(39:52):
darkness to kind of go away.
Um, they have like reallycreative elements to it, like
when uh violin players play, they pluck their uh strings
sometimes and the jump is like apluck ability is what they call
it, so you can jump higher, which I thought was really neat
and cool.
And, yeah, you're essentiallytrying to bring more music back
(40:15):
into the world.
So I found a flutist andthere's some other characters
that I won't spoil as well, buttrying to bring the magic of
music and there's very cool cutscenes in it where they're
playing music together and justeverything's kind of growing and
becoming beautiful again, whichI think is really cool.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
I was watching a
trailer for it right before I
jumped on to record with all ofyou guys and it looked super
intriguing, which is why Iwanted to hear more about it.
You said you reviewed it.
Speaker 7 (40:47):
Yep, I'll have it up
after this podcast, which will
probably be up whenever you guysare listening to it.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
And where will that
review be found?
Speaker 7 (40:58):
Maybe on a website
called GamerHeadsPodcastcom.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Girl, you got this
down to a science.
Full spoiler alert.
What did you give it?
If you don't mind me asking Igave it an A Okay.
Let me ask this it ametroidvania trina, if you say I
don't know what, that means Iknow what metro is, but like
(41:21):
I've never actually played them,so I don't know if I can
compare it so is there a lot ofgoing back and forth on the map
after you unlock something to goback to unlock a different spot
of the map, that you can get toother things yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (41:32):
Yes.
Alright, so basicallyMetroidvania there's secrets and
stuff and you have to go back.
Speaker 6 (41:37):
Nice, I love that
Sold.
One huge map.
You start off with not a lot ofabilities.
You gain more abilities.
That gains you access to otherareas of the map.
So a lot of back and forth.
Speaker 7 (41:48):
And actually the
secrets are what give you more
abilities too.
That's exactly.
Speaker 6 (41:53):
That's not see, no
man, this was a big mistake
having you all on that's threegames.
Now that I'm putting it, that'sone of which is free not the
battle pass five dollars, mike, five dollars.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
I'll bed mill you
five bucks.
After this we can play togetherokay, sounds good.
Speaker 6 (42:13):
Anything else?
Speaker 7 (42:16):
Gosh?
No, I don't think so.
This past weekend I waslearning how to edit videos, so
I was not playing as many gamesas I usually do on the weekend,
Gotcha.
Speaker 6 (42:29):
All right, cool Phil.
How about you?
What games?
Have you been playing.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Mainly the usuals.
I did take a dive off the deepend and I started the Call of
Duty campaign just because Isaid I would and I have.
And I am firmly reminded abouthow bad I am at Call of Duty
games as soon as I stepped footinto the Call of Duty universe.
I have not played anythingonline yet, but even just the
campaign is kicking my assaround.
(42:55):
But it's very well done, verywell lit and it's got Lou
Diamond Phillips in it, which isa big selling point to us old
people, lpp.
But I've enjoyed what bit oftime that I've spent in it.
And I also find it very, I'mgoing to say, odd, but not too
surprising, that even justcompleting the first chapter of
(43:15):
the campaign, you get a rareachievement for it, because
nobody actually plays thecampaign in Call of Duty.
It's all just, everybody justplays multiplayer.
So it's just like, oh, Icompleted the first thing and
it's a rare achievement becauseonly 9% of the people that play
this game have done this Cool.
Speaker 7 (43:28):
I'll take it.
I guess I have that achievement.
Atta girl cool, I'll take it.
I guess I have that achievement, attagirl.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
So yeah, I've spent
some time with Call of Duty.
Like I said, I've downloadedMarvel Rivals.
I'm very much looking forwardto playing that approximately.
I don't know how longeverybody's got to go by when
five minutes okay cool, I'll beon Marvel Rivals in five minutes
.
Downloaded Crash Team Racing.
Haven't started yet, haven'treally started anything else.
I've just kind of been stuck inmy same rut, as there's been a
(43:53):
lot going on in life, but youknow what it's life, it happens,
yep cool what about you, mike?
Speaker 6 (44:00):
uh.
So I also downloaded um call ofduty and then I started it up
to play the single playercampaign and then I uh said fu
to activision and I deleted thegame.
Because they're like, becausethey well, in order to play the
single-player mode you need tosign up for an Activision
account.
And I'm like, no, I don't.
And then I hit the uninstallbutton.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
That's fair.
Speaker 6 (44:23):
Yeah, I don't want to
get that.
I'm so sick of doing that.
I just want to pop in the gameand play it, so I did that.
That was fun, uh.
And then I have been playing uhmortal combat one.
Uh, because the uh chaos reignsdlc the story and the
additional characters uh went onsale, so it was half price.
(44:44):
I wasn't about to pay 50 bucksfor it, but I'm okay damn,
that's steep that's very steepand I'm okay paying 25 because
at the same time they alsoreleased Ghostface, so I was
practicing with Ghostface fromScream.
That's cool.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
From Wu-Tang got it.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
I know who you're
talking about.
No, not him From Scream.
So I've been playing that.
And then they also had an eventthey do every two weeks.
It's like the towers and youearn points by beating these
towers and the more points youearn, the higher you're into
(45:21):
like a percentage.
So like if you're in like thetop 50 percent of the points, uh
, that people earn during theseTowers of Time, you will get an
exclusive skin or an exclusiveitem as part of your
customization for the character, while this one had Ghostface as
(45:45):
the announcer, the voice.
So if you watch the Screammovies, the actual guy that does
the voice of Ghostface is inthis game.
He does the voice for Ghostface, but if you're in the top 5%,
you get the voice for free.
So the voice being, like whenyou select your characters, he
says round one fight.
You know like that, likefatality, it's in his voice.
(46:07):
So I was really grinding atthat and I was able to get into
the top 5%, so I earned that, soI got that.
I've been playing Fortnite.
Of course.
They started up a new season soI got into that.
It's interesting.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Interesting good or
interesting bad.
Speaker 6 (46:27):
No, interesting good.
I mean, every time they startup a whole new island, I'm like,
okay, I've got to get used tothis now.
But, um, but it's okay.
I mean it's fortnite.
What are you gonna say?
You know, it's always the samething, I heard you can be
godzilla in that game wait whatgodzilla is in the battle pass
like full-size, godzilla ormini-size godzilla, not like
(46:51):
some of Godzilla, just likeGodzilla from like and I think
it's the Godzilla from theGodzilla Kong movies that have
been coming out recently.
Speaker 5 (47:00):
Yeah, it looks like I
saw him doing the gritty.
Speaker 6 (47:03):
Yeah, oh, that makes
me feel dirty on the inside.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Jake, take it back.
Speaker 6 (47:07):
There's a picture of
you can do shoes now in the game
too.
What Shoes are part of of?
You can do shoes now in thegame, too.
Shoes are part of.
Like you know, you can chooseyour outfit and stuff, but shoes
.
So somebody actually hasGodzilla in Air Jordans slamming
a basketball.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Mike, I will
uninstall Fortnite if you keep
this up.
Speaker 6 (47:26):
I didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
I know, but you
saying these things makes me
want to just get rid of it.
Speaker 6 (47:31):
But, yes, but
apparently full-sized Godzilla
is going to be in the game too, supposedly Damn it.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Now, I just
reinstalled it.
Speaker 6 (47:38):
Fight him as a boss.
I guess I also took advantageof some of the sales that are
going on and I purchased all theDLC for $10 for Minecraft
Dungeons and I started playingthat because I was in the mood
for a Diablo Lite.
So I've been playing that andthat one's Mindless Hack and
(47:59):
Slash Very old school.
So I'm enjoying that.
And let's see, I alsopre-ordered a game.
It's not out yet, but I wantedto mention it because, zeb, you
were talking about how much youlike stories.
I wanted to mention it because, zeb, you were talking about how
much you like stories.
I pre-ordered and downloadedthe Legacy of Kain, soul Reaver
1 and 2 bundle the remakes, ifyou like stories.
(48:20):
These are great stories.
It's actually.
They're written and directed byAmy Hennig, who went on to do
the Uncharted games.
Oh, okay to do the unchartedgames.
Okay, so it's old school, but,um, if you like zelda style
gameplay with a bit of a gothic, darker vampire story, look into
(48:42):
legacy of kane, soul reaver oneand two remastered those were
games I always like.
Speaker 5 (48:49):
Those were like
playstation, like ps1 games ps1
and ps2 yep yep, yeah, yeah.
So I never got to play those, but I always saw them and I
thought they looked really neat.
Um, did you ever play the darkcider game?
Speaker 2 (49:04):
oh, I love.
Yeah, the dark cider games rule.
Those games are fun yeah, itkind of reminds like, it kind of
looks like that in a way, butmore updated, I guess, yeah and
there's a little more puzzlesinvolved in the old soul river
games as well.
Speaker 6 (49:19):
It's it's got the
zelda aspect of puzzles to it.
Yeah, a lot of sliding blocksand phasing through things and
yeah nice but yeah, but no, it'sfun, so I'm looking forward to
playing that.
Other than that, I and you knowwhat I will be happy to say
this I downloaded.
I think it was like $2 on saleon Xbox Sudoku Classic X.
(49:41):
Oh, you did get it.
I did get it.
Roger laughed at me.
I'm like I don't know why I'mlooking at this game.
That's so funny.
Lol, don well, don't you LOL atme.
I'll buy the game, whether youlike it or not.
So I bought the game just tospite him and I'm enjoying it,
and then I gifted him a copy too.
That's right, but I mean I can'treally get into it because it's
Sudoku.
You know, if I started talkingabout it we'd be here for hours,
(50:02):
right, but it's, you know, it'sfun.
If I'm just listening to theradio and I got nothing to do
before I go to sleep and I justwant to relax, I'll just play a
couple.
There's 300 puzzles, so it'sgoing to take a long time to get
through this game.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
That's a penny, a
puzzle, mike.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
That's a good deal.
Speaker 6 (50:24):
Yeah, the controls
are intuitive.
Controls are easy.
It's only got three songs on itand each song is only about two
minutes long, so I'm singingalong.
Yeah, I'm humming along withthe tunes, like on my way to
work and stuff, um, but yeah.
Speaker 7 (50:40):
Oh no, they're like
earworms, yeah Well they're not
good earworms, I mean they're.
Speaker 5 (50:45):
it's actually like
they're almost kind of songs you
would hear at a renaissancefestival you know, what I mean?
Speaker 4 (51:01):
it almost sounds like
medieval type music.
Yep, yep, oh boy, yeah, heavyfluted songs yeah, yep, yeah.
Speaker 6 (51:04):
Or if you're playing
an rpg episode yeah.
If you're playing like an rpgand you wander into a town or
something like that, the musicstarts playing.
That's almost like that kind ofmusic, so, but it's sudoku.
What are you going to do?
Speaker 2 (51:13):
I immediately thought
of the Animal Crossing song.
As you said that it's just thesame songs over and over again,
no, I love.
Speaker 6 (51:20):
The Animal Crossing
soundtrack man Animal.
Crossing the 3DS one.
That's one of my favoritesoundtracks.
Speaker 7 (51:29):
Speaking of Animal
Crossing, did you see?
They closed down the pocketversion and then now they're
releasing it again, but you justlike buy the full game for
mobile yep, yeah, yeah, thosesons of bitches I don't know how
I feel about that yet dirtytrina, that's the answer dirty I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
I was considering
buying it you are part of the
problem, young lady I know, letting him get away with it.
Speaker 7 (51:57):
It's $10 in January.
Come on.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
You could buy two
Battle Passes and Marvel Rivals
for that much.
Speaker 6 (52:04):
You could buy
Bellatro on your phone for that
much.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (52:08):
That's what I did.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
I haven't bought it
on my phone yet.
Or you could buy a Starbucks.
Speaker 6 (52:16):
A Starbucks, one
Starbucks, wait, I thought we
were talking about Gans, notStarbucks.
Speaker 7 (52:23):
That's the wrong
answer, Jake.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
That is the wrong
answer Wait what podcast?
Am I in control of this podcast?
Speaker 4 (52:29):
No, I can't kick him
out of here, damn it.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
Switch this back to
my recording session.
Speaker 6 (52:36):
Alright.
Well, yeah, that's pretty muchwhat I've been playing, so let's
go ahead and let's jump into.
Our main topic here, and thatis next week, is the Game Awards
Bellatro Awards.
Speaker 2 (52:46):
Oh sorry, bellatro, I
got excited.
Speaker 6 (52:49):
The Game Awards will
be airing next Thursday, the
12th.
I think.
That goes from like 7 till 10Central Time, something like
that, and that's just what we'vebeen seeing over these past so
many years, where they give outawards and don't spend enough
time giving out awards.
(53:09):
I'm going to go on a rant.
All right, I'm going to ranthere it is.
There's times when they're like, oh yeah, okay.
Well, now let's listen to thispop artist for five minutes sing
a song.
Oh, by the way, here's an awardwe gave while this was happening
.
Here's another award we gavewhile this was happening.
Here's another award.
It's called the Game AwardsAward, the awards during the
(53:34):
show.
Don't just say, oh yeah, here, this person won this, and they
only actually do maybe abouttwo-thirds of the actual
presentations of the awardsduring the game awards.
Otherwise they're like oh yeah,here's.
Here's some other stuff we gaveout.
I don't know, am I, am I just acurmudgeon, the old man, for
being upset at that?
No, but I will say, mike, thisyear snoop dogg is going to be
there, so I am I just acurmudgeon, the old man, for
being upset at that?
Speaker 2 (53:53):
no, but I will say,
mike, this year snoop dogg is
going to be there, so I am notanti-musical performance yeah I
thought I saw that I didn'treally sleep much last night and
I spent a lot of time on socialmedia at approximately three
o'clock in the morning and I'mwell.
I might have hallucinated it,but I thought I saw Snoop Dogg
was performing.
Speaker 5 (54:11):
What does he do?
Speaker 2 (54:15):
Jake, I will kick you
off this podcast twice in four
minutes, jake.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
Come on.
Canadian.
Speaker 5 (54:26):
I know who he is, and
stuff like that.
But, I feel like, what does hehave to do with the Game Awards?
Speaker 2 (54:35):
You're fucking with
me right now right.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
He does game.
Speaker 5 (54:41):
Did Roger send you
here to see if you could piss me
off.
Speaker 3 (54:44):
Is this what's?
Speaker 2 (54:44):
happening.
Speaker 6 (54:45):
Jake Go ahead.
Speaker 5 (54:50):
No, you go ahead.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
Damn Mike he just put
you in your place.
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 6 (54:56):
He was in the most
recent season of Fortnite and
his music was in it too, interms of the rock band game that
you can play in Fortnite, Doeshe?
Speaker 5 (55:09):
still do music, I
think he does, okay, I think he
yes Okay.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
I think he's more of
a feature act now.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (55:18):
I just thought he was
like some stoner.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Whoa, you watch, your
damn mouth.
Speaker 6 (55:25):
He's not lying.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
Trina, you're now my
second favorite person on this
podcast.
Way to get promoted, jake, I'mon your side.
You are right.
I have never been anti-Canadianin my entire life, until Jake
stepped foot on this show andnow, all of a sudden Canada is
the worst place on earth.
Speaker 6 (55:47):
Here's the thing
about Snoop Dogg he's everywhere
, he's everywhere.
I seriously I went to ShaquilleO'Neal thing about snoop
doggies is he's everywhere.
It's like, yeah, he'severywhere.
Like I seriously I went to uhshaquille o'neal yes video games
that's right exactly yeah yeah,he'll show if there's.
If there's a dollar to be made,he'll be there like I went.
I went to a uh I'm the same waywell, I know, but you're not
(56:09):
snoop like we.
We're not talking about.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
Phil, he was at the
Olympics the only difference
between Snoop and I is theobvious one.
Speaker 5 (56:16):
So why was he at the
Olympics?
And that's that.
I'm not a multi-million dollarhip-hop artist.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
The rest of it all
the same person, because
everyone loves.
Speaker 7 (56:22):
Snoop Dogg Drake.
Speaker 6 (56:24):
Everybody likes him.
He showed up to throw out thefirst pitch at a baseball game I
went to over the summer andeverybody was just cheering for
him.
He's just a lovable scamp,apparently.
Speaker 2 (56:35):
And the best part
about it is in like 1996 he was
on trial for murder charges andnow all of a sudden he's just
like America's lovable hip hopicon.
He's a dude that's legit,killed people.
And now all of a sudden he'slike yeah, Snoop's great.
Speaker 5 (56:48):
I'm sure you could
say that about a lot of the
famous people.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
What?
I'm sure you could say thatabout a lot of famous people.
What?
No famous people are perfect,jake.
Speaker 5 (56:55):
No, I mean.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Especially Americans,
ferris.
Speaker 6 (57:00):
Bueller killed
somebody.
Speaker 5 (57:01):
That's what I was
going to say, Matthew Broderick.
Speaker 6 (57:03):
Matthew Broderick ran
somebody over and killed him in
Ireland.
Well, that's in Ireland itdoesn't count.
Hey, now wait a second.
He didn't know what side of theroad to drive on.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
Well then, that's not
Ireland, it doesn't count.
Hey, now wait a second.
He didn't know what side of theroad to drive on.
Speaker 6 (57:14):
Well then, that's not
Ireland's fault.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
You're blaming
Matthew Broderick still.
Speaker 6 (57:18):
Yeah, Alright that's
fair.
Alright good, Glad we had thisconversation.
Speaker 4 (57:22):
Alright, now where
were we?
Speaker 6 (57:23):
Game Awards.
Speaker 4 (57:24):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (57:25):
Let's Alright.
So let's kind of blast throughsome of these categories and
we'll get your thoughts on whoyou think should win.
So we'll start with BestIndependent Game, and the
nominees are Animal Well,bellatro.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, Nevaand UFO 50.
By the way, and if you'veplayed any of these games, feel
(57:48):
free to talk about them and feelfree to mention uh one you
think that should win.
Uh, I'm gonna call it outbalatro, but that's because it's
the only game I played on thelist and I love balatro I do too
I went out of my way to playneva.
Speaker 7 (58:04):
Uh, and the reason I
know it's called neva is because
they say it multiple timesthroughout the game so that way
people didn't think it was never.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
What game did they
make before this?
Speaker 5 (58:15):
Yeah, what game did
they make?
Speaker 7 (58:16):
Grease, I'm going to
say it correctly, oh is it?
Okay, yes, but maybe the samepeople.
But Neva I absolutely loved.
It has that same kind of vibeor element that Greece had,
where it, like you are bringingcolor to the world and stuff.
(58:38):
Um, however, this one has likecombat and stuff involved in it,
so like you're fighting off, like this evil spirit.
Essentially I don't know if weever got a name for it, but it's
like bringing darkness to theworld and, um, essentially kind
(58:59):
of killing all the wildlife andwhoa make the world like happy.
Um, and there was actually somelike pretty emotional moments
because like my pet died andlike came back to life where I
went back in time, I'm not quitesure but like they were kind of
(59:22):
like my pal and like helps mesolve puzzles and do different
things and you got to hold itand your pet the game died yeah
that's way too powerful.
I'm not playing this game Iknow it is pretty powerful, but
in the end everything was fine, like I saved the world and my
pet was still there.
So okay.
Speaker 6 (59:43):
Do you think it's uh
award-winning worthy?
Speaker 7 (59:47):
yes, oh, all right I
watched roger play in Laser Eyes
and I was so confused I don'tknow what was happening.
Speaker 4 (59:56):
That's because.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
Roger was playing it.
Trina, you can be honest.
Speaker 7 (59:59):
At PAX and it wasn't
my jam.
And I'll be honest, I've neverplayed Bellatro and I've never
played UFO 50.
Trina, shame on you.
So Neva's my winner here.
Speaker 5 (01:00:14):
I'm gonna just put my
hand in, for I think Bellacho's
gonna win.
But I also wanna say somethingabout Animal Well.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Please do.
Did you play it?
Speaker 5 (01:00:25):
I never played it but
but I did see a lot of really
good things about it.
Um, I'm also big mode.
Uh is donkey donkey's newproduction company, if you know
him.
So I thought that was reallycool for like kind of like a
(01:00:48):
starting production company toget it like.
It was a.
I'm pretty sure shared memoryis one is a one person deal and
uh, I was hearing a really goodthings about that game.
Um, I do think it was more of aflash in the pan.
So that's why I think palachois to win, just because people
(01:01:10):
are still talking about Bellatro, where animal well is kind of
not, so yeah, Sam, all right, have you played any of those.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
I played Bellatro.
I had a boy.
Well, admit, I was late to theparty.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
That's all right.
You still made it to the party.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
I didn't pick it up
till they announced the
cyberpunk oh, it's fine.
Hey, any reason okay now Igotta get it, and yesterday was
the first time I beat my firstdeck how did it feel?
felt pretty good.
Yeah, I get it now.
At first I wasn't, and my wifehad.
(01:01:52):
She's played the shit out ofthe game.
She's like you've got to keepplaying.
It's one of those games youcan't put down until you get a
good run and then it's got you.
I only bought it on my phoneand so I just play it when I've
got a few minutes.
It's that kind of game whereyou just oh, click, click, oh
okay, and then you can just dosomething else and it's there
(01:02:13):
for you.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Yep, when you get
that right combination of jokers
, you just know you're goingdeep into it.
You're just like, oh man, I'mgoing to make a run.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
And then when?
Speaker 6 (01:02:24):
it starts speeding up
.
That's the best feeling whenyou've got it.
It's like ding, ding, ding ding.
And then when the multiplMultipliers start going faster
and faster.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
I will say I think
what helped me get really into
the game was because I wasplaying on my phone.
I just turned the volume up and, yeah, it's the sounds that
really help.
Speaker 6 (01:02:39):
I love the music,
yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:02:42):
Cool, all right.
So next best debut indie game.
I don't know what thedifference between independent
and debut indie game is, but wehave.
Well, it's similar here.
So Animal Well, bellatro, manorLords, pacific Drive.
Phil, did you play PacificDrive or were you interested?
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
No, it's a
PlayStation.
I'm super interested in it, butit's a PS5 exclusive.
Speaker 6 (01:03:04):
That's right, and the
Plucky Squire.
Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
You make a fair point
.
Speaker 6 (01:03:09):
I am no longer mad at
you.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Steve doesn't count
for me okay.
Well, I know, I know, but Notall of us have fancy-ass
computers that can play videogames.
Trina.
Speaker 7 (01:03:20):
Sorry, some of us
look like the homeless person at
the airport that you're tryingto give shit to okay.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
I'll give you a note
that says ducks.
Speaker 6 (01:03:32):
Has anybody played
any of those games?
Animal, well, bellatro, well,we don't know Bellatro, but man
of Lords, pacific Drive orPlucky Squire.
Speaker 7 (01:03:40):
Plucky Squire.
Speaker 6 (01:03:41):
Yeah, is that fun.
I'm super intrigued by that.
Speaker 7 (01:03:44):
Oh my gosh, it's so
fun.
I've been streaming it the lastcouple weeks, so I guess I've
been playing more games than Iremember.
Speaker 6 (01:03:52):
You've been streaming
it.
Speaker 7 (01:03:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
Wait, where can
people find your stream?
Speaker 6 (01:03:56):
Where can they find
your stream?
Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
Sorry, I didn't mean
to step in your toes.
Speaker 7 (01:04:00):
Twitchtv slash Trina
Ballerina, trina with two A's.
But yeah, it is super unique inthe way that, while it still
has like platforming oh my gosh, get rid of the duck note it
(01:04:20):
still has like platformingelements to it.
But you start out in astorybook, so you're like
playing in the storybook andthen this evil wizard, who's
like always been your nemesis, finds out that you're in a story
book and that he can manipulatethe story, and so he uses like
(01:04:41):
evil magic and kicks you out ofthe book.
And then your character is likein the real world and you're on
this like kid's desk.
Who has created this world?
Basically, and there's lots ofcool elements of like going in
and outside of the book to likeeither go get items or to flip
(01:05:02):
back in pages to get differentthings to help you to move
forward, or to manipulate thestory, so like, for example,
there was a like rat that I hadto get past and, uh, there was a
big rock in my way, or I wouldhave to walk past the rat and
just get attacked.
And one of the things that I didwas I hopped out of the book
(01:05:25):
and I like leaned the book andthe rock slid so that I could go
into, um, like it hit the walland there was like another page
that I could go into and then,um, I got an item from in there
and then I could slide it back,go back a couple pages, grab the
word cheese, bring it back andchange the word rock to cheese
(01:05:47):
and it turned into a block ofcheese and the rat ate it.
So so it was like super cool, like you can manipulate the
story and you're not like likenothing's ever a wrong answer in
terms of like changing thewords and stuff.
It's not always just like thething that's going to move you
forward, but you do get like funachievements and stuff Like I
(01:06:08):
made like a tiny mouse and whilethat wasn't the right answer, I
got an achievement for doing it.
So I was having fun like goingback to a bunch of pages and
grabbing words and just seeingwhat I could create, because
they have figured out everypossibility, basically and like
make the story do that for you, which is really cool nice yeah,
(01:06:30):
so that's my winner out of thoseones.
So you're saying it's worthplaying oh, yeah, one thousand
and ten percent excellent cool,uh, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:06:41):
Next one.
Best family game astrobot uh,let's see princess peach
showtime, super mario, partyjamboree, legend of zelda,
echoes of wisdom and once again, the Plucky Squire.
Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
I'm going to say the
Plucky Squire, because it's the
only one that's available on theXbox, and the rest of the games
can go fuck themselves.
Speaker 7 (01:07:04):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
My vote is Astro Bot,
but I honestly think with
accessibility, because mostpeople do have a Switch Seb.
Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
We've done so good up
until this exact moment.
Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
Well, it's almost
outsold the PS2 at this point,
but I'm going to say, because ofhow many people own a Switch,
super Mario Party Jamboree isprobably going to get Best
Family Game.
It looks fun.
Speaker 6 (01:07:36):
Yeah, and that's a
good point, because out of all
those games, so Astro Bot singleplayer, oh no, there's a
multiplayer aspect to it, right.
No oh they've got time trialsand stuff too, right or speed
running Astro.
Bot single player.
Princess Peach single player.
Echoes of Wisdom.
Plucky Squire single player.
Single player.
Jamboree party game.
Speaker 5 (01:08:01):
I did play Echoes of
Wisdom.
I thought it was a really fungame.
I think the fact that there'sso many different ways you can
achieve a goal is really cool, and I can see a lot of kids
(01:08:25):
enjoying that, probably sittingdown with their parents and
thinking about ways to getthrough certain things.
Um, it, it, it.
It could be a good family game,I think okay, that's a good call
yeah it's, it's very cartoony,uh stuff like that it's, it's a
(01:08:50):
really fun game.
So yeah, I'm going to say, I'mgoing to say I'm going to say I
have to go with Sub on SuperMario Party.
Speaker 7 (01:09:01):
I feel like it fits
the family category better.
I hate to say it, but Zebtalked me into.
Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Mario.
Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
Party as well.
I enjoyed Jake's reasoning, butZeb talked me into it, and
sorry man.
Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
You know what I'm
going to say.
Mario Party 2 now.
Speaker 7 (01:09:15):
But you can't do that
.
We changed your mind.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
I enjoyed your
argument about like everybody
sitting around and likediscussing how to get through
different puzzles.
I think that's a fantastic idea, but the actual multiplayer
facet of Mario Party I think isgoing to carry that much further
.
Speaker 5 (01:09:32):
If we lived in a
perfect world.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Astro Bot would win.
Speaker 5 (01:09:36):
Astro Bot no, yes, I
think Echoes of Wisdom should be
on this list at least.
But yeah, I think probablyMario Party is going to win, or
Astro Bot, If for some reasonthey I don't know Sometimes they
(01:09:58):
just pick a game I find andthen it just wins everything.
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Jake, it's voted on
by the people.
Speaker 6 (01:10:05):
There are no such
thing as rigged elections Right,
maybe in the fall right, maybein there could be, there could
be, uh, there could be aargument for the for the uh game
awards being rigged.
But that's what a lot of peopletend to say afterwards.
But anyways I it's.
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
It's definitely a
popularity contest yeah,
everyone's gonna have haveconflicting answers.
Speaker 6 (01:10:34):
Oh yeah, people get
so salty over these.
Let's see what's next Bestnarrative.
So we have Final Fantasy VII,rebirth Like a Dragon, infinite
Wealth Metaphor, refantazio, senua's Saga, hellblade 2, and
Silent Hill 2.
I haven't played a single oneof those, so I got no skin in
(01:10:55):
this game.
Speaker 7 (01:10:56):
Zub, did you play
Metaphor?
Speaker 3 (01:10:58):
So I played the demo
slash prologue that Metaphor
Refantazio has to offer and Ireally enjoyed it and where the
story was going, I think wasreally good.
It almost felt timely, likebecause for the whole I'll just
say, like the plot of it is,it's a fantasy world and there's
(01:11:22):
like a fantasy story in thisworld of another world with one
race that just all gets along.
There's no tribes or anything.
And I'm like and they just, andwhen they're talking about it
they're just showing earthpretty much.
You see skyscrapers and moderntechnology and you're like, well
, why can't we have that perfectworld?
If this is the fantasy world, they're thinking we literally
(01:11:45):
have it and I just felt like itreally like if that's like where
they were going to go with thestory and from the reviews I
read, it kind of sounds like itwas, it sounds like it would be
a really good story.
But it came out like a monthago and I'm still trying to beat
Persona 5, which is yeah it's atask, and that's my Steam Deck
(01:12:10):
game I play in the morningduring work cough cough, not
during work.
Speaker 7 (01:12:16):
Cough cough, not
during work.
No, no, no.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
Before work.
But yeah, so I think Metaphoris good.
And then Final Fantasy VIIRebirth.
I played about 15 hours of thatso far and it's beautiful that
so far, and that's it'sbeautiful, like if you're a
final fantasy fan.
It has all the check checks, all the boxes.
It's good cgi cut scenes andstory and voice acting and every
(01:12:43):
.
It's a really good game.
So it's.
Speaker 6 (01:12:46):
It's a hard choice
what do you think is gonna be?
What I think is gonna win iseither Final Fantasy or Silent
Hill.
Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
Now I guess there's a
whole other rant, though.
That I have is they're bothremakes that's right, that was
another point of contention islike half your like, I will say,
the Rebirth.
I've never played the originalFinal Fantasy VII and looking
into trying to catch up becauseI played the last remake, the
(01:13:22):
part one, they do adddifferences.
There are like it has diverged, and they've added like they're
called the whispers or theshadows, and they show up to
correct the story back to itsoriginal form when people played
it on, like the PlayStation oneor whatever.
(01:13:43):
So that, so that is cool.
But yeah, they're both remakes,so I feel like most of their
work was already done ages ago.
Speaker 5 (01:13:52):
It's a valid point.
What would you say should winif you took those off?
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
I, I don't know.
I can't give a valid opinionbecause I've only played
metaphor, but not that much.
But I will say, everyone thatplays the Yakuza games I've only
played Metaphor, but not thatmuch.
But I will say, everyone thatplays the Yakuza games I've only
played Zero love them and I dosee why they love them.
So I could see that one winningand I do think it does deserve
(01:14:24):
it, because people were upsetthat that didn't get near the
top for Game of the Year.
It's a pretty loved franchise,so I could see that.
Speaker 6 (01:14:38):
Yeah, I don't know.
Like I said, I haven't playedany of those, but I see your
point about being remakes andstuff.
When they announced those, people were pretty, pretty upset
about that.
And speaking of other nomineesthat people are upset about,
well, let's go to Best GameDirection and our nominees are
Astrobrot, bellatro, black, myth, wukong here we go.
(01:15:01):
Elden Ring Shadow of the Entry.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth andMetaphor ReFantasy.
So DLC Elden Ring, dlcNominated.
Speaker 5 (01:15:12):
It's gonna win, I
think it's fine for Game.
Speaker 3 (01:15:13):
Correction.
Speaker 5 (01:15:14):
And I'm voting for it
.
Speaker 6 (01:15:15):
You're voting for it
to win.
You just want there to be totalchaos.
Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:15:20):
Watch it, burn it's
freaking good.
Speaker 5 (01:15:22):
I absolutely love
Shadow of the Earth 3, and I
think it deserves it.
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
Jake, how long of a
piece of DLC, was it?
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
I would say about 30
hours.
Okay, that's full game.
Oh, that's, that's good thenokay, yeah, but no, no.
Yes, to play the base game toget to the DLC.
That doesn't make it its owngame, at least when Cyberpunk
(01:16:02):
had Phantom Liberty.
When you boot up the game, itjust says do you just want to
jump right into Phantom Liberty?
We'll give you the XP that wethink you would have gotten by
the time you would have reachedthis point.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, justjump into it.
I want to play shadow of theearth tree, especially before
the game awards, but I have tospend like 40 hours in base game
(01:16:22):
.
Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
Elden ring just to
get and that's not just 40 hours
that's 40 hours of getting yourass kicked and abusive 40 hours
hey zeb, hey zeb.
Speaker 5 (01:16:35):
I have a question for
you.
If you, if you were to justjump into the marvel cinematic
universe and just go right intoavengers, do you think you would
have a good time?
Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
yeah, no, you need to
know everything no, you would
they make each movie to bestandalone, but the easter eggs
are there for the ones like youor I, that pay attention to that
stuff.
So we can turn to our partnerand be like, oh my god, and they
go, uh huh true, but I think.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Counter argument,
jake, what uh-huh true, but I
think counter-argument, jake, ifone was to have read all of the
lore of the marvel cinematicuniverse and jumped into the
avengers movie instead ofwatching all the prequels,
because they have readessentially every comic that led
up to that point, includingeverything that transpires in
the avengers movie, they'd stillhave a good time with the
Avengers, right, true, so youcould just play through a
(01:17:37):
Veldenring and you're fine.
Speaker 3 (01:17:40):
But you need to.
Speaker 5 (01:17:40):
No, I can't play the
DLC without playing the game.
Yeah, so the thing is.
Speaker 4 (01:17:45):
Jake, you're
gatekeeping.
Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
I think that's the
word that the kids use Probably,
probably, whatever.
I don't care, just shut up,phil, sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:17:57):
Jake, I'll put my
head down and just drink beer no
, I think I do understand whatZeb's coming from, like you do
need to.
There's a boss, and it's asignificant boss that you
actually need to beat before youcan well, is this the one that?
Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
watched you struggle
for like, and it's a significant
boss that you actually need tobeat before you can.
Well, significant bosses, isthere?
Speaker 7 (01:18:15):
two, one that watched
you struggle for like multiple
days on end radon first right, and then you have to be stars mo
I don't think you have to beradon, I think you just I
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
mean because you just
spoil the ending of the dlc,
but redon plays an important ohyeah, that's true.
Speaker 5 (01:18:35):
Yeah, but to, to get
to moog, you just need to get to
the blood palace and, oh yeah, just get to the blood palace
it's.
Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
You know, if somebody
would have told me elden ring
has a place in it called theblood palace, I probably would
have played it by now.
You might have just sold me onelden ring just because now I
know there's a good palace, Iwon't deny it.
Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
It's a good game
great game I love.
Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
It's the first souls
like game I've ever played, I
but dlc.
Speaker 5 (01:19:01):
I think the thing,
too, is that if, if you're gonna
play shadow of the earth tree, you're probably a elden ring
player, like I can't see someonegoing into that game and being
like I'm just going to pick upShadow of the Earth Tree, what
is this other game I have to?
Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
play.
Speaker 5 (01:19:23):
They're going to know
.
Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
I think it belongs in
best game direction because it
is its own like story, right,it's something new.
But I don't think it belongs ingame of the year, for that
later time is awful oh shit, itis in game of the year as well I
think, if anything, it shouldbe in game direction, like I
(01:19:48):
think it should.
Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Yeah yeah, I agree
with that.
Speaker 5 (01:19:51):
Yeah, I, I.
I think it's like the fact thatit was even nominated for game
of the year and it's a dlc hasto say something like it's it's
a huge game, like I.
I understand that, like youhave to get to a certain point
and everything like that, but Idon't know, you got to play it.
Speaker 3 (01:20:21):
I just might be a
little salty that Cyberpunk,
that Phantom Liberty, got put inbest ongoing game category last
year.
When it's like well, you can'tcompete, cyberpunk can't compete
against WoW or Destiny.
When it's like well, you can'tcompete, cyberpunk can't compete
against wow or destiny whenit's not an ongoing game.
Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
So it's like,
conversely, it's looked at as an
ongoing game, which is kind ofa huge thing, because it's
saying that I don't know, wasthere an end game to what is it
called phantom liberty?
No, that's a metal gear game.
Speaker 3 (01:20:48):
It is called phantom
liberty.
There's an end game to it,though, right, I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:20:52):
it's a single player
one and done thing.
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
It's a separate
ending to the game, but I guess
ongoing game is different thangames as a service, which is
where you would throw a Fortnite, marvel, rivals and Overwatch
that kind of shit.
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
So I mean ongoing
game.
Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
I get it because it's
an extension of a game which
you could make the argument.
That's where uh shadow of theerd tree belongs.
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
What is in best
ongoing game?
I don't know, we're not talkingabout that one here.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Damn it, we're
arguing about other things that
are irrelevant yeah yeah, Idon't know um, oh, they got
destiny, diablo, final fantasy,14, fortnite and helldivers, see
like.
Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
So those are all
games as service.
Yeah, yeah no, I I think thatlast year phantom liberty should
have been nominated for likegame direction, at least for
well, for anything that shadowsyour tree like I think this is
just kind of a new thing that Ithink maybe, and it could be a
(01:22:00):
result of phantom liberty, trueand they're like okay, this dlc
also was huge.
Speaker 5 (01:22:06):
We also last year had
so many games come out.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
It's also true you
know, skate swept it, yeah, yeah
, it was a good year yeah, soall right.
Speaker 5 (01:22:17):
Maybe it's just the
fact they didn't have enough
games to put on the list andthey're like well, shadow of the
earth tree came out.
Give a point to jake, it's arigged election all right go
ahead, mike so yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:22:33):
So now we're moving
on to the last category, game of
the year nominees, and thenominees are astrobot, belatro,
black, uh, myth wukong, eldenring, shadow of the erd tree.
I think I accidentally calledit entry.
This is what happens whenyou're you get it when your
eyesight is going uh.
Final fantasy 7, rebirth, andand Metaphor, re-fantazio.
(01:22:54):
What do you think is going towin?
Game of the Year what do youthink, not what you want to win,
what do you think is going towin?
Speaker 7 (01:23:02):
Astrobot.
Speaker 6 (01:23:03):
Astrobot.
Speaker 5 (01:23:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:05):
I think so.
I think I'd like it to beAstrobot, but some of my other
friends have kind of convincedme it might be Black Myth Wukong
.
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
I've seen more hype
over Astro Bot than I have over
Black Myth Wukong, having onlyplayed exactly one game on this
list.
Speaker 7 (01:23:25):
They had Astro Bot at
PAX West and the line was never
short for that.
It was out the door like everysingle day, and they only let
you play like three minutes ofthe game like so.
It's just crazy I mean peopleare so hyped for it because?
Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
I mean because, just
if you think about how it even
started, it was just a demo, hewas just a guy that was supposed
to be a demo showing it waskind of a tech demo right.
Speaker 2 (01:23:54):
Yeah, how awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
Your controller was
and stuff.
And everyone went no, we want afull game of this guy, we need
full game.
And then sony took it and ranwith it and if you've played any
sony game in your history'reprobably going to find a
character there that you're like.
I know that guy.
I remember him when I was like10 years old.
(01:24:16):
There was no Sony when I was 10, zeb PlayStation was not a
thing yet.
Sorry.
Speaker 4 (01:24:24):
Don't apologize for
that shit, Zeb.
Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
Jake, you're back up
to number three, heck yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:24:35):
I'm sure I'll say
something else.
Speaker 6 (01:24:38):
I'm sure, no matter
who wins, there'll be a lot of
people complaining on theinternet absolutely because
that's what the internet's for,alright, so let's really quick.
Any new games, because that'shalf the game awards is game
awards and the Game Awards isGame Awards and the other half
is Game Announcements.
So any announcements that youthink we might see or that you
(01:25:00):
would want to see.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
I'm hoping to see
something from Destiny because
of the state of the game.
Final Shape was a greatexpansion and honestly it left
me so happy the way it was likethe avengers end game for gaming
for me, and but what they'refollowing it up with has been
(01:25:25):
left me wanting.
So I'm hoping that they havesomething to show us to get us
excited again.
They did last year or the yearbefore or whatever, so I'm
hoping the tradition continuesNice.
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
I am really hoping to
see some in-game footage and
gameplay from Borderlands 4.
I would really like to see someBorderlands 4 in-game footage.
Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
I forgot.
Speaker 7 (01:25:51):
I didn't realize they
were making another Borderlands
.
Speaker 3 (01:25:54):
They announced it a
few months ago, right.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
Trina, you're going
to fall to number three if you
keep this shit up.
Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
I'm sorry, I'm upside
all the other ones.
Speaker 6 (01:26:03):
Trina, how about you?
Anything you were hoping to see?
Speaker 7 (01:26:07):
I don't know.
I feel like I haven't reallyseen any announcements or
potential things, so I'm notsure what is going to be shown
All right, jake, how about you?
Speaker 5 (01:26:26):
Anything Okay, two
things Fable, because I feel
like we haven't heard anythingabout that game in forever and
Avowed.
I'm really interested in.
Speaker 6 (01:26:41):
Oh yeah, that's got a
release date on it, doesn't it
February right?
Speaker 5 (01:26:45):
I think so yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:47):
It's early next year.
Speaker 5 (01:26:50):
They showed some
gameplay a while back back and
people were kind of like meh.
So I I heard they kind of wentback and did some stuff.
So it'd be kind of interestingto see some more stuff about
that.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
So, yeah, nice
personally, I would truly like
to see sorry, mike, I'd trulylike to see an actual release
date for Gears of War, the newone that's coming out, oh yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:27:12):
That's true, yep.
I would like to see more infoon Perfect Dark.
I hope they do more with PerfectDark.
That'd be fun to see.
I'm hoping that they do atrailer.
So I'm hoping we get sometwofers for Metroid.
I hope we get a new trailer forMetroid Prime 4, and I hope
(01:27:35):
they do maybe a shadow drop ofMetroid Prime 2 Remastered,
since they released MetroidPrime 1.
And then, finally, the one I'mreally hoping for, and I got my
fingers crossed.
I really think they're going toshow it.
I really want to see a newtrailer trailer for resident
evil 9, if we can?
Speaker 5 (01:27:54):
oh, that'd be so I
would love that massive, can I
throw a curveball.
Speaker 4 (01:28:01):
That I think, phil
would hate what was that?
Speaker 7 (01:28:04):
I was like can I
throw a curveball that I think
phil would hate?
Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
please do.
Is it a new zelda game or a newMario game?
Speaker 7 (01:28:12):
No, no, no, no, no.
So they've been like everyone's, suspecting that potentially
the Switch 2 is going to comesoon.
Could you imagine if theyannounce like a release date?
Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
How could I not mute
you Try and like hell to mute
you and I can't.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
I hate not being able
to we gotta get Phil.
Speaker 6 (01:28:31):
Phil, he'll be
screaming and he'll be the first
one To pre-order it.
How?
Speaker 5 (01:28:38):
So I'll put some
money in and get him one.
Speaker 7 (01:28:40):
No, jake, wait, wait,
wait.
You gotta go to the Patreonpage so that we can Buy a fellow
Switch tip, that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:28:48):
And true.
Speaker 7 (01:28:48):
What is that?
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Patreon page Trina.
Speaker 7 (01:28:52):

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):

Speaker 5 (01:30:37):
How did I start that
name?
Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
Is it with a K or
