Have you ever felt the magnetic pull of a crystal, inexplicably drawn to its shimmering facets? That's where our latest episode begins, with a heartfelt tale of my own cherished wolf crystal necklace vanishing, leading us to question the deeper connections these earthly treasures foster. Joining Marilisa Lawless and me, Jeremy Wolf, we explore the seductive world of crystals. Marilisa, a seasoned crystal aficionado, and CBD store owner, shares her transformative journey from casual admirer to crystal curator. Together, we navigate the storied timelines where crystals have graced ancient temples, adorned the necks of royalty, and vibrated at the core of many a spiritual practice.

Wander with us through the echo of crystal shops, where each stone whispers its own legend, and learn how the right crystal seems to choose you, rather than the other way around. Our conversation unwraps the art of selecting these natural wonders, revealing the importance of intention in their choice. A poignant episode highlight recounts the tale of a green aventurine worry stone's journey with its owner, provoking thought on the readiness to receive a crystal's energy. As we peer into the skeptical eye of science and the open heart of spirituality, we invite you to open your mind to the possibility of a world pulsating with energy, waiting to harmonize with your own.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Hemp Del Soul podcast.
All health, no high.
Here's your host, Maril isaLawless.

Jeremy (00:14):
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Hemp Del Sol
podcast.
I'm your co-host, Jeremy Wolf, joined by none other than your
host, Maril isa Lawless.
Maril isa, always a pleasure,always a pleasure.
So thanks, as always toeverybody for tuning in to learn
more.
So check this out.

(00:35):
I am not wearing my wolfcrystal necklace today, I don't
know why.
It's just not on and it'scalling me.
So I thought we would talk alittle bit about crystals,
because I feel like something'smissing, but I'm not wearing
that, so I got to get in thehabit of putting that on every
day.
I know that you have Crystalsdel Soul, along with Hump Del

(00:57):
Sol, and obviously involved inthis space.
Why don't you start by talkinga little bit about what sparked
your interest in crystals andhow you became involved in their
study and practice, and thenwe'll go from there?

Marilisa (01:14):
Okay, very cool, yes, I am going to be here again.
And the crystal sport, ifthey've always been in my life,
just little bits and pieces.
I haven't ever been superfocused on them.
I just was like, oh, those arecool and I like them.
A few years ago probably closeto 10 years now I met someone,

(01:38):
Gabriella Engels, and she had acrystal store down on Oakland
Park and Federal Highway down bythe beach.
She's like "Go visit my store,go check this out, go take
whatever you want.
And I did Brought back likethree or four crystals.
They have them in my therapyrooms and just sort of went from

(02:00):
there.
I have a space on the otherside, so I have three bays where
I am and one of the bays iswhere the store is.
In that particular area.
The space was completelyunderutilized.
I had chachkies in there, youknow, looking at the next books,
whatever, but nothing, reallynothing of importance.
There's a desk there, butmostly a lot of cabinet space

(02:21):
and shelf space.
Fast forward a few years.
She ends up having to becauseof rent issues and pricing and
everything else.
She closes it up.
I didn't really think muchabout it until one day I said I
needed a Kwan Yin statue.

Jeremy (02:38):
Kwan Yin statue.
Yeah, just like you're, justlike out of nowhere, one day
you're like I.
You know what I need.
I need a Kwan Yin statue in mylife I was having some issues
with the neighbor.

Marilisa (02:49):
Okay, I just wanted to express love.
I wanted love between us.
I was doing my mindfulnessmeditation and loving kindness
meditation and doing all that.
Quan Yin is the goddess of love.
So Chinese or Asian, dependingon where you're coming from,
it's spelled differently, butit's Quan Yin and she's just all

(03:11):
about love and peace andconnection.
So she's like oh, come to mywarehouse, I have one.
I was like cool.
So I go to her warehouse and Iwalk in and I mean there's
crystals everywhere, but they'reall boxed and they're on
shelves and they're.
I'm like well, what are youdoing with all this stuff?
She's like well, when I closedup my store, I just moved
everything here and I'll figureit out.

(03:34):
So we sat talking.
She gave me the statue and Ithought about it and I was like
I have all this underutilizedspace.
Why don't you just put yourstuff there?
So I actually had the crystalstore before I did the CBD, a
few years before I did CBD.
I just never advertised it, Inever did anything about it.
It was just whatever clientwalked in.

(03:56):
They were like oh, I reallylike that, can I have it?
And I would just sell whateverpeople were interested in.
I didn't put a lot of energy orfocus into the crystals and it
wasn't until 2018 when I gotinto the CBD stuff and doing
that research and looking aroundand doing all of that that it
was like, ok, maybe I need tomake this an official store.

(04:19):
That's when I opened up aretail store and got my retail
license and my sales tax numberand my EIN and everything else
and made it an official store.
So the crystals have alwaysbeen a part of the retail store.
I just never really did theadvertising or promoting, I
guess, would be the word of itand moving forward from that, I

(04:41):
was like I really feel a senseof peace and contentment when I
walk into this area where I haveall these crystals.
Let me do again I do deep dives.
When I'm interested insomething, I go deep.
I want to know everything andthe crystal world is so big
there's no way for me to knoweverything ever, and that has

(05:05):
become a part of what happens atevents that I do.
People are asking questionsabout CBD, but the majority of
the time, people are reallyinterested in the crystals.

Jeremy (05:19):
Yeah it's a fascinating subject right.
Can you explain the basicprinciples behind crystal
healing and how it works?
And I think there's a bigcommon conception, or
misconception, I guess you couldsay out there amongst the
general public.
When they hear about crystalsthe people who said this before

(05:40):
immediately they think it's likewoo-woo and they think there's
nothing there.
But I've come to learn that allenergy right, and everything's
frequencies and vibrations, absolutely you can kind of break
that down how it kind of worksor a science behind it, if you
will.

Marilisa (05:54):
Well, the science.
I think that with any kind ofresearch you can find pro and
con for both.
Sure, at the end of the day,it's what crystals have always
been used.
They've been used in everyreligious background, from
Brahmanism, hinduism.
In Egypt, the pyramids all hadthese ginormous quartz crystals

(06:19):
at the points of all four, atall four corners.
They're like two feet high andsix feet wide and they were
circular quartz and they usedthem as the electric energy or
magnetic energy that would passthrough that and through the
pyramids.
So there's a whole researchthing on that end of it.

(06:39):
When I started researchingcrystals, these were some of the
things that I learned was thatthey've been used in every
religion and every culture.
There is in quantum physics, when you're looking at energy,
everything is energy.
Everything is moving.
Whether it's a solid, what itappears to be, a solid object,

(06:59):
the majority of it is moleculesthat are moving, atoms that are
moving, and it's just about thedensity.
So the crystals have beenfascinating In that, yes,
there's a whole science behindit.
They do, and there's beenspiritual leaders that use
crystals for healing andcrystals for energy and crystals

(07:21):
for many, many different things.
At the end of the day, withcrystals.
What you're looking for is whatam I attracted to?
What is it that's calling me?
I tell people when they'relooking at a crystal and they're
like I don't know anything, andI said, ok, just walk around.
And what are you attracted to?
Oh well, I really like this.

(07:42):
At that point they'll ask aquestion.
I'll say, well, here there'ssome free apps that you can get
on your phone and you can lookit up and see if it fits.
Usually, if somebody picks up acrystal, the same crystal three
times, there's something intheir energy that's calling for
that particular crystal.
So when we look up what themetaphysical meaning is behind

(08:03):
it and the metaphysical meaningcan change depending on the app
that you're looking at as wellbut oftentimes people say, wow,
that's really about where I'm atright now.
That is what I needed.
Those are the kinds of thingsthat happen with crystals.
So there's a lot of sciencethat talks about the energy
connected to the crystals.
The metaphysical healingCrystals are found all over the

(08:26):
world.
I think it's fascinating thatsomebody picked up a geode and
said, oh, I wonder what's insidethis rock.
You know, look at this and thishas been polished, you know,
but it's like this is and whatyou're seeing with the green and
I know that on audio you won'tbe able to see it, but I'm

(08:48):
holding a heart that is a pinkamethyst.
Most people know amethyst to bepurple, but there is a pink
amethyst who's found first inPatagonia and it has its own
healing properties.
But the green part is theactual geode and it's been
polished down so that you can'tyou know, you have no idea what

(09:08):
it looked like.
When you see the other side ofthese things, it's like how did
somebody know to break open thisrock and find this thing?
You know this stuff inside.
So the whole thing is just forme super curious and I continue
to be curious.
So I learned things aboutcrystals and I'm just really.

(09:29):
You know, I'm wearing Ken, Idon't know if we can see it like
.
I'm wearing a little carnelian.
It's a shield, you know, and Ihave all my crystals on.
I'm wearing all kinds of stuff.
My earrings are labradoride andgreen moss agate and my
bracelets are opal, pink opal, and purple tiger's eye.
That's a purple tiger's eye andyou know, shungite, tourmaline,

(09:54):
more tiger's eye, moonstone,jasmine.
I mean, I'm all.
I love all this stuff.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
You got a lot of crystals girl.
I know I do.

Jeremy (10:03):
I'm curious.
You may or may not know this.
Obviously there's been lots ofresearch and studies done on any
number of topics.
Have they ever done any studiesor research where they kind of
hooked up an MRI or brain scansor anything like that and put
people around various types ofcrystals to see if there's any
interaction between the I guessthe frequency of the crystals

(10:24):
and the actual brain?
Because, like you said, you'retalking about quantum mechanics
and brainwaves and all this kindof stuff.
We all are energy andeverything's always interacting.
Do you know anything about anystudies done like that?

Marilisa (10:34):
I don't know of them offhand.
I couldn't cite this studyhappen and this study happened.
What I remember most is Adamruins everything.
It's a YouTube channel and hecreated this thing about
debunking myths or things likethat, but he did a whole thing
about crystals like, ah, it'sall fake, there's no energy in

(10:56):
crystals, and that was his thing.
Yeah, he became a YouTuber andhe's done tons of videos, but
that was one that actually kindof made me laugh because he
brought in all these scientiststhat were saying this.
So what we're looking at is adifference between Newtonian
thought and quantum thought.

(11:18):
So the Newtonian is very, if Ican hold it, if it exists, if
it's materialist, materialist.
And then what we're now lookingat with.
Yeah, I even have a on my auraring.
I've got my Shungite ring forblocking radiation.

(11:39):
So sorry, that was a little.
What we know on the quantumside is that everything is
energy.
There's no such thing as notbeing energy.
So crystals have energy, crystals have meaning, and I

(12:00):
find some of the stories or someof the things that I've even
experienced, funny, fascinatingand, again, curious.
It just leaves me, in a senseof, with a world of wonderment.

Jeremy (12:14):
Yeah, I find it interesting how so many people
are completely closed-minded totopics such as these.
And the jury's not out yet, right, we don't even know.
And talking about quantummechanics, that's something that
really fascinates me.
We don't even understandquantum theory and what it

(12:35):
really means, right, we have theequations that tell us things,
but they don't know why it isthat way, and there's always
different theories about how theworld works beyond that.
So there's so much that'sunknown about this whole space.
So my mindset with this isalways just to keep an open mind
and never feel that I have theanswers, because, gosh, what do
I know?

Marilisa (12:55):
Yeah, so the other piece with that is that, no, we
do know, we do know quite a bit.
We do know that if you focus onan object, the object has
already moved, you've already aperception, there's a fact, and
then there's perception and ourperception is everything it's.
There's a million differentways to see the same thing, and

(13:17):
that's part of what the quantumphysics I mean.
When you think about stringtheory, I Mean, they're going
deep today, oh small, small, small, you know.
I mean smaller than anythingwe've ever experienced.
I just find it all reallycurious.
But because it is out there, the knowledge is there, the
information is there.
It really seems to be about thetransitioning of thought.

(13:39):
Can we actually accept the ideathat we're an energy field?
You know, it's like walkinginto a room with someone and or
you're walking into a crowdedroom and if you're having an
issue with something that'snegative, you're gonna find that
one person out of 300 people inthis room that has the same
negative issue and you'll beable to Talk about this stuff.

(14:02):
Yeah, I mean it's, it's allabout energy.
It's energy fields.
We're beginning to label it,we're beginning to have names
for it, so it's I just, I'm likeI said I could go down this
rabbit hole I've been going.
I go down a lot of rabbit holesthese days.

Jeremy (14:18):
Fascinating stuff.
So how would you, how do yourecommend to Beginners that are
to start incorporating crystalsinto their lives or practices,
or somebody that really hasn'tdone anything with crystals
before but is interested, whatwould you recommend?
How can they get into thatspace?

Marilisa (14:35):
The easiest thing is just go visit a crystal store.
As you walk in the door of thecrystal store, take a breath and
figure out how do you feel.
I Walked into some crystalstores and got an immediate
headache.
Oh, oh, what's going on here?
And it was before I knewanything about anything and I

(14:55):
was like, oh, I don't, I Need toleave, and I would go outside
and the headache would go awayand I was like that's weird and
I would do it again, get theheadache again.
I'm like what?
So I had to assume that it hadsomething to do with the energy
in this particular space, and soit's not about the crystals,

(15:18):
it's about the people that arein there.
So I was like I don't know whatI was picking up.
All I know is that every time Iwalk through that door so
whether it was the building, whether it was this and I tried
to like walk around the counterwhere they had all these
beautiful crystals and it waslike, oh, I just can't and I had
to leave.
And this was up in Casadaga, where a lot of people just go
for psychic readings.

(15:39):
They go to buy their crystals, they go to buy.
This is like a new age Vortexkind of thing in Central Florida
on the East Coast, so it's it'sjust like really interesting.
So when I walk into a crystalstore, I was in Sedona two years
ago out For Gabrielle Ingallswedding.
She's still you know, it wasstill intertwined and went off

(16:05):
Off the main drag into a crystalstore, because there's crystal
stores everywhere in Sedona,they're everywhere.
I Find this one that's likedown an alley and Behind some
buildings and I walk in there.
The energy was so good and itwas so uplifting.
I actually broke out into asweat as I walked into the store

(16:28):
.
I was like, and it's coldoutside and there's no heat on,
and it's like, oh, this is weird, and I'm walking around fanning
myself.
I'm like what, I had to take myjacket off.
I'm like, and I don't, I don'tget hot, I'm not.
I'm just not that kind ofperson.
I'm not.
I mean like some women you know, they're like really hot.
I'm not that person.
I'm cold all the time.
So I forgot what.

(16:49):
I Stayed in that store for areally long time.
I even have still crystal thatmy friend, I have it on my desk
here.
She knows how much I lovebutterflies.

Jeremy (17:02):
Love it.

Marilisa (17:03):
Yeah.
So she's like pick a butterflyfor yourself.
And we got it in that store.
So you'll see, I have crystalsall around my, all around my
desk here.
You know, this one's one of myfavorites too.
It's called blue appetite andthis is from Madagascar.
So my crystals come from allover.
I've got, you know, the the, this pink amethyst that I have.

(17:25):
You know this came from Brazil.

Jeremy (17:30):
No shortage of crystals, no soul.

Marilisa (17:34):
Not at all, so it's really kind of cool.
Um, so, when people are pickingout crystals, uh, it's not
always people that have not hadany experience with crystals.
Sometimes it's people that havehad experiences that feel
negative Around their crystals.
For example, yesterday was anevent and this woman was picking
out a crystal for somebody elseand I'll show you this.

(17:56):
So this is a thumb, it's aworry stone, it's got a
thumbprint on the other side andthe crystal is called green
adventuring and it's called amoney stone.
It's supposed to attractabundance in whatever form
you're talking about, and itactually has the word success.
So this woman is trying to findsomething for someone else and

(18:21):
I tell people when you'relooking at something for someone
else, just think about it,think about that person.
And they come in.
And so she picks up this stoneand she's and I'm telling her
what the you know themetaphysical meaning is about
adventuring and she really likesthe word success and she wants
to get it for her a person.
She gets it, she buys it, shewalks away, she drops it and she

(18:46):
has other crystals in the bag, that crystal broken half.
She's like oh my, oh my, lookat what happened.
And I said they don't breakthat easy.
And she says but only this onebroke.
And so we sat talking about itfor a second and she's like what
does it mean?
What does it mean?
And I said, well, often it justmeans that you are not ready
for that crystal.

(19:07):
But it was for somebody else.
And I said, well, obviouslythat person's not ready for it.
And she's like who does thatmean?
They're gonna be a failure andthey're gonna lose all their
money?
I'm like, no, not at all, butit means that they're not open
to whatever it is that you wantto give them.
I said you're welcome to pickanother stone, and she did.

(19:29):
She picked something calledgoldstone, and goldstone is
partially manufactured becauseit's got copper in it and it's
and it is a stone and so it haslike all these sparkles and it's
a sparkly stone and it in theone that she picks.
So then I said, well, that'sfor calming, that helps people
to calm and to get throughsomething that they're feeling
anxious about.
And her friend that was withher was like who are you buying

(19:52):
this for?
So I'm not telling you.
And I was like, okay, I backedout of that story, but it was
like whatever.
So she took the goldstone.
But she was really upset aboutthis stone breaking and really
worried about it.
And things only have the energythat you put into them.
For the most part it's not thatstrong an energy that it can

(20:12):
take over what you do or how youfeel as a person.
It often just means that you'renot ready for it.
Sometimes people lose crystalsand they'll say I don't know
what happened to it, I don'tknow where it went.
And I'll say, obviously theuniverse is telling you you're
not ready for it.
Or when they do find it, theyfound it years later.

(20:33):
I had somebody told me I lostthis crystal four years ago and
all of a sudden I find it on thefloor in front of my dryer.
She's like I have no idea whereit came.
I said, oh, it's the crystalfairies.
They're just messing with you.
And she just laughed.
But it means that happens topeople and I do get people that
are really afraid when theircrystal breaks and I'm just like

(20:54):
it's just an energy thing.
You're just not ready.
It's okay, let it go.
You know when you're ready it'llcome back to you.
There'll be something that youknow you'll find it again, or
you'll get another one or you'llpick something different.
So I don't want people to put somuch focus on the properties,
but just choose things thatactually make you feel good and

(21:19):
that your intentions are clear.
When you're choosing somethingfor someone else, are you doing
it out of love and kindness anda true sense of giving, or are
you doing it to try and controlan outcome?
And sometimes you're trying tocontrol outcomes and I think
that that was part of why thatsuccess in the Money Stone broke
.
So I don't know who that personwas in her life or what that

(21:42):
meant, but that really upset herwhen it broke.
You know and it's not anexpensive crystal, it's easy but
it was just interesting thatit's just that one in the bag of
crystals that fell and fell atthe exact point to break just
that one and literally broke itnot on a seam, not on a, because

(22:02):
every crystal has their, youknow, their little crystals
aren't generally clear.
You know they're not withoutfaults, but the way that this
broke it didn't break on any oneof the actual pieces of the
crystal, it just really brokeright in half, yeah, right
through the word.

(22:23):
And so it's and I and I've hadit happen with friends and
family that I've given crystalsto and said, well, that broken
half, probably because you're inthe middle of trying to live in
two different worlds and you'retrying to figure this out and
they're like you're right.
Yeah, so it it.
It truly is about are youwilling to listen to that inner

(22:46):
voice.
That you're willing to listento that inner voice is for me.

Jeremy (22:50):
This isn't for me.
Yeah, makes a lot of sense whenyou think about it, really does
.
Lastly, maralisa, what advicewould you give to someone who is
skeptical about the use ofcrystals for healing, or
somebody that just, you know, Iguess, just doesn't have an open

(23:11):
mind to this kind of stuff andand thinks, thinks about it in a
way that's like the guy, theguy that does the well, he made
a YouTube channel and he talksabout the skepticism, which is
really cool, but somebody thatjust hasn't ever experienced,
just is not on the radar.
Like, what advice would yougive?

Marilisa (23:26):
to them.
Walk into a store and see howyou feel.
Just take a couple of deepbreaths.
Can't hurt, right and and well, and that is at its core.
It does no harm and when youwalk into a place that has a
really clean mind, it feelsreally nice in here.

(23:47):
You know, and and that's it.
I mean.
It it's about do your medicalstuff, get your medical advice,
figure out what you need to doon a on a ground level for
whatever is going on with yourhealth and, if the traditional
medical route is not working foryou, be open to alternatives.
In this country.

(24:07):
It's not always alternatives inother countries, and sometimes
it's just herbs, crystals, tuning forks, breath work.
I mean, there's so many thingsthat are there as adjuncts, yeah
, which is what we focus onadjuncts to healing trauma, and

(24:29):
it's yeah, just take a breathand see how you feel.

Jeremy (24:34):
Yeah, I would say that I would say to somebody that that
has that mentality.
You know, when you're standingin a room and then you could
sense the presence of someonebehind you, you could sense if
there's a weird energy in theroom, if there's some
uncomfortability, there'ssomething going on there that's
deeper and like why it's notjust a human being thing, that

(24:58):
that applies to everything.
Really.

Marilisa (25:00):
Right, right.
Well, that's about payingattention to the vibe.
You want to pay attention tothe vibe in the room and it's I
mean, it's a term that's beenused forever and it's like
everything is vibration, everything is moving, everything
is connected to something.
It is all about connection.
How connected are you to yourown energy, to your own sense of

(25:23):
well being?
Be kind, be loving, be open.

Jeremy (25:28):
We're all on this journey together, and a
fascinating journey Indeed, itis and none of us are getting
out of this alive.

Marilisa (25:40):
It's the cause of number one cause of death.
Anybody, anybody, everybody waslike mm-hmm.
You know a million different.

Jeremy (25:51):
He said birth.
Ah, that's the part of us.

Marilisa (25:56):
Fundamental truth.
We're trying to figure out howto live in love and peace,
because that's really the onlything that changes things.

Jeremy (26:03):
So try everything Alright, very cool.
Thank you so much for all ofcrystals for the day.
Everyone out there listening.
Go check it out.
Walk into a store, just seewhat you feel, pick up a crystal
.
I know I've done this before ata chamber events.
When you have your booth up,I'll come over and I'll pick up

(26:23):
different crystals and hold themand then talk about how I feel
with it.
So like, like you said, itcan't hurt and it can do nothing
but good.
Absolutely Alright, mary Lisa, always a pleasure.
You have a wonderful day.
Uh, not, not quite Friday yet,but we're approaching a weekend,
so have a great day.

Marilisa (26:39):
I'm on the rain.
I'm planning on camping.

Jeremy (26:41):
Very cool.

Marilisa (26:42):
Have a good time, enjoy yourself yeah.

Jeremy (26:44):
Absolutely Alright everyone.
Thanks so much for tuning inand we will catch everyone next
time.
Take care, have a great day andkeep that energy shining bright
.
