Helen Formoso-Murias, a relevant leader in the New York City fashion industry, shares the value of building a personal brand through wardrobe. She has built her career in organizations such as Barneys, Goyard, Kering, LVMH, Bloomingdales, and Chanel and uses her experience to explain why a personal sense of style supersedes a materialistic perspective of fashion. She explains how fashion can be used as a strategic art form to develop how we approach each day and how we want to show up.

During our conversation we talked about the benefit of investing in quality pieces rather than fast fashion, fashion as an art, and how we can use our personal sense of style as a form of nonverbal communication. Helen delves into the future of fashion post COVID from a focus on investment pieces over trendy items and what will ultimately change about how we shop. She talks about the unprecedented significance of a good tailor and also shares an insider’s advice to building out an ideal wardrobe and the psychology behind how we should be looking at the clothes we purchase from editing, to curating and designing our wardrobe.
