Get ready to be inspired andempowered.
In our last episode, wediscussed ways to find your
defining word for the year.
I shared with you my choice ofcourage as my word for the new
year, symbolizing my commitmentto embracing bravery and taking
bold steps forward.
Now let's shift our focus onhow I will implement and share

my word in the classroom andempower students to be
courageous too.
This week, my awesome studentsgot the exciting news about our
upcoming district-wide literaryfair.
Some were super stoked and abit nervous, while others were a
bit hesitant and scared to joinin.
Now let me tell you myclassroom is bursting with

creative geniuses.
We've got writers, artists,music lovers and even some
crafty entrepreneurs who rockeda podcast project for the
outsiders the novel we readtogether in December.
Every single one of them has aspecial talent and I want them
to have the courage to chasetheir dreams.

(01:51):
As an educator, it truly breaksmy heart to see my students
doubt themselves.
But here's the thing I alwaystell them that courage isn't
about being fearless.
It's about overcoming thosefears, and that's exactly what
I'm determined to teach themcourage, courage isn't just for
superheroes or brave soldiers.

(02:11):
It's a quality we all haveinside.
It's that little voice in ourheads that tells us to keep
pushing, even when things gettough.
It's the strength to conquerour fears and doubts and come
out on top.
Now I know many of my studentsmight be feeling a little
nervous or unsure about theliterary fair projects, but

(02:33):
here's what I want them toremember Nobody's perfect, and
that's totally fine.
What matters most is giving ittheir all and having faith in
themselves.
So I encourage them no holdingback because of fear or
self-doubt.
I always remind them to take adeep breath, find their inner

(02:55):
courage and dive into theirprojects with enthusiasm and
determination.
I believe in themwholeheartedly and, who knows?
They might just surprisethemselves with their incredible
achievements, and this is thesame thing that I want for you
as a fellow teacher.
So, as educators, how can wecultivate courage within the

classroom?
Well, here are a few tips onhow you can foster a climate of
courage and bravery among yourstudents.
Create a safe and supportiveenvironment where students feel
comfortable taking risks andexpressing themselves.
Encourage open communicationand provide opportunities for
students to share their thoughtsand ideas without fear of

judgment.
Set high expectations andprovide constructive feedback to
help students build confidenceand overcome challenges.
Incorporate activities thatpromote resilience and
perseverance, such asproblem-solving tasks or group
projects, and celebrate andacknowledge students' efforts

and achievements, fostering asense of accomplishment and
motivating them to take on newchallenges.
Remember, fostering courage inthe classroom is crucial for
students' personal growth anddevelopment.
