Katie Lovitt (00:00):
And you shouldn't have to become an expert in gut

(00:02):
health nutrition to feel better.
You know, because there's like, there's this huge mountain.
If you're watching this onYouTube, huge mountain of
information.
And you just need to know likeone stone worth of information
to get you better.
So why are you going andlearning about everything when
you really just need to becomean expert in yourself?

(00:23):
Hey, everyone.
Welcome to The Nourished andThriving Show.
I'm your host, Katie Lovitt.

your impact and legacy on theworld while healing your gut and
reducing your IBS symptoms.
I'm so grateful to have youhere.

(00:45):
valuable resources andinformation that empowers you to
take bold action towards yourhealth goals.
Before we dive in, make sure youfollow or subscribe to my show
wherever you're listening so younever miss an episode.
Ready?
Let's go!
Hey guys, today we are going to be talking about
three things that my clients aredoing to get results.

(01:08):
And I'm doing this with greatintention actually, because you
need to know what is differentbetween you who is stuck in hot
mess gut or one of the otherstages of gut rehab.
If you haven't gotten my guide, you definitely need it.
Reach out to me on Instagram andI'll get it right to you.
But you need to understand, like, what are they doing

(01:30):
different?
So you hear about people healingtheir gut, you hear about people
who are feeling bad and theysomehow get better, and you need
to figure out what they aredoing differently that you are
not doing.
Tony Robbins actually has aquote about success.
And he says, basically findsomeone who has achieved the

(01:52):
results that you want to achieveand copy paste them into your
own life and do the same thing.
And I think that there's a lotof value.
What he's saying, you know, instead of trying to forge this
path forward completely on yourown and scrap these pieces
together to come up with a planand figure it out on yourself,
copy paste to like figure outwhat works for other people and

(02:15):
apply that to your own life.
Now with gut health, it's notthat cut and dry.
You guys like there's a lot ofcomponents.
Every single person is differentand we're all like body, mind
and spirit.
And so we have to take all ofthose aspects into
consideration.
This is actually one reason Ilove working with people on
their gut health because it'sreally complicated.

(02:38):
And I love a good puzzle.
I love a good challenge andreally figuring out what are all
of the moving parts?
What are all of the pieces?
How does this all fit together?
And here's the thing, you don'tnecessarily know all of that
until you start.
I'm one where I like to see allthe pieces laid out in front of

(02:59):
me so I know exactly what I'mdoing, but Got Help is not like
that.
Like, you get part of the, partof the pieces, and then you have
to do some of the, you know, puzzle solving before you get
the rest of the pieces.
So, um, you know, Tony's, Tony'squote and his, you know,
philosophy with this, of course, has nuance and different things.

(03:20):
But I think there's also a lotof value in learning from
others.
And you know, it's what helps usexpedite our results.
It's what helps us get therefaster instead of having to
completely start from scratch.
It's working smarter instead ofworking harder.
And so I'm going to share withyou guys today, three things

(03:41):
that my clients are doing rightnow that are getting them
results that you need to bedoing as well.
So first of all, Every singleclient of mine who gets great
results in my program knows whatthey want and clearly defines
it.
We actually have an activity inmy program that walks them

(04:01):
through this to where they canenvision so clearly.
What healthy or what feelingbetter means to them that they
could describe it to somebodyelse and that person can picture
the exact vision in their mindof what the person is talking

(04:24):
about.
So have you gotten that granularand clear on what it is that you
even want?
If you don't know what you wantto achieve, if you don't define
what healthy means for you, chances are you are going to get
put on a protocol or a diet, oryou're going to start down this

(04:46):
path and you are going to findyourself frustrated.
unfulfilled and just feelinglike you're not making progress
or you have been told something, told to do something that feels
impossible to do for you.
And it's because it's not liningup with your values and your
goals.
It's just a cookie cutterprotocol, um, basic generalized

(05:09):
recommendations.
And you're not even actuallythat motivated to make the
decisions that feel harder onthose days that it feels hard
because you don't even reallylike, you can't even really
picture where you're headed orwhat you're working towards.
Maybe you don't even reallybelieve that you're going to get
better.
Um, or that's a true possibilityand your heart's not into it.

(05:32):
So first of all, know andclearly define Um, and my
clients are doing is staying thecourse.
Like I was saying, we don'talways get all of the puzzle
pieces.
Whenever we're first startingout with gut health, we get some
of them.
And then through my skill and mywork with my clients, um, and

(05:54):
some testing and all of that, answering assessment questions,
we get a few more, but then evenmore information is revealed to
us as they start taking stepsforward and we're getting
Thanks.
Thanks.
Feedback from their bodies onhow they're feeling, how their
body is responding to differentthings.
And that helps us to morecompletely put all of the pieces

(06:14):
together and know what piecesyou're even working with in the
first place.
Now, if you're not working withsomebody, Who is truly
partnering with you throughthis.
Maybe you're working with a G Idot who you're seeing once a
year, you know, or even afunctional health doctor or
somebody that you're just notseeing that often.
They're giving you a protocoltelling you to follow back in a

(06:36):
few months.
Let them know if you have anyquestions.
It can help some, but you're notgoing to get as great of results
as if you are truly like linkingarms, you know, with somebody
and really taking those stepstogether.
Because a lot of what your bodyis telling you, a lot of the
information you're getting asyou're moving forward, you may

(06:56):
not even know that it'ssignificant, or you may know
that it's significant.
You're like, man, I really feelthis way after I do this, but I
don't really know what to dowith that information.
That's where I come in and helpmy clients take action towards
that.
And, you know, they're reallystaying the course, like
everybody, whenever you arehealing your gut, whenever you
are working to repair somethingthat has been chronically

(07:19):
damaged and dysfunctioning, you're going to bump up against
some roadblocks.
Sometimes it is not going to beall PG keen and sunshine and
rainbows.
As you're moving through this, you're going to have some hard
days.
You're going to have some dayswhere you don't feel good.
You're going to have some dayswhere you feel like you're not
making progress.
You're going to have somesetbacks along the way.
But you have to stay thatcourse.

(07:40):
And again, it goes back to thatfirst thing of knowing what
you're going for and remindingyourself of what you were going
for in those moments that helpsyou stay that course.
So it all fits together reallywell.
Um, and then the third thingthat my clients are doing.
Always.
Um, maybe not at first, maybenot actually always, but we're

(08:02):
always working towards it,right?
Nobody's perfect.
And we all slip back into thisother pattern sometimes, but
it's really about takingresponsibility for your life and
seeing the freedom that comeswith that versus feeling a
victim.
Now, I know whenever you'rehaving these awful gut symptoms
that feel like they'recontrolling your life and you

(08:23):
don't feel like you can doanything about them.
You can't control them.
You don't know what's causingthem.
You are really suffering.
You feel like a victim.
Um, I actually made a post onthis on Instagram a couple of
weeks ago.
Um, but it's really just talkingabout what if here's a little
mindset flip trick for you tojust Try in those moments where

(08:46):
you're feeling like a victim andthis is happening to you,
instead of thinking thesesymptoms are happening to me.
My body is revolting against me.
My body hates me.
Um, anything like that, try toflip it and say, These symptoms
are happening for me for areason because my body is trying

(09:08):
to tell me something.
My body is trying to tell methat it needs help.
It needs support.
Something is wrong.
And I'm so grateful for thesesymptoms because honestly, can
you imagine?
How wrong everything would be ifyou had no idea that anything
was off, you felt fantastic.
And then all of a sudden, oneday everything fell apart all at

(09:29):
once.
That would be awful.
Like people would be droppinglike flies left and right
because they'd have no idea thatsomething needed attention.
So that's just a mindset.
You know, trick for you guys totry and do on those days where
you're just feeling really downand like a victim and like
nothing's ever going to change.
Try and just think about what ifthese symptoms are happening for

(09:52):
a reason and my body is actuallytrying to help me.
Um, and I just need to figureout what my body is trying to
tell me, right?
So try that, write that downsomewhere, stick it up, put it
in a voice recording and listento it.
You know, on those days thatyou're having a harder time, if
that's helpful for you.
Um, but having that mindsetswitch is really going, going to

(10:17):
be what gives you that controlversus feel like you are being
controlled by your gut.
And then obviously this is likea fourth one that's kind of an.
Like, doesn't even need to besaid, but all of these clients
also hired some help, right?
Going back to what our friendTony Robbins said at the
beginning, you know, seesomebody who's achieved what you
want to achieve and copy andpaste it.

(10:38):
Well, it's hard to know.
What all somebody did if you'rejust observing from the outside,
and maybe they can tell you andrun it through to you.
But like I said, it's notexactly a copy and paste because
everyone is so different.
So how powerful would it be tohave somebody in your corner?
Helping you adjust somethingthat works, that has a proven

(11:03):
track record of helping people, but personalizing it to you and
your needs and your goals andeverything you're needing
support with and trulypartnering with you along the
way.
That is huge.
That is so powerful.
And that is a big reason that.
They're, my clients are able todo these three things and stick

(11:24):
with them consistently longenough to get results with them.
So I'm going to give you thefourth one, which is hire some
help.
If it's me, if you feel like wereally connect, if you really
resonate with everything thatI'm saying, I would love to talk
with you.
If not, if you're just like, this is your first time
listening to my show and you'renot really vibing, but.

(11:46):
You're just looking for someinformation on gut health.
Find someone who you connectwith, who has a proven track
record, who can help break allthis down for you, because
there's a lot of information outthere.
You guys, I spent a lot of hourstraining in this field.
I spend a lot of hours workingwith clients and getting actual
practical experience everysingle day.

(12:07):
I spent a lot of hours doingcontinuing education.
And you shouldn't have to becomean expert in gut health
nutrition to feel better.
You know, because there's like, there's this huge mountain.
If you're watching this onYouTube, huge mountain of
information.
And you just need to know likeone stone worth of information
to get you better.
So why are you going andlearning about everything when

(12:31):
you really just need to becomean expert in yourself?
So that's, I'm going to tellyou, I wanted to tell you about
one of my clients.
I don't think she would mind ifI said her first name, but I'm
just going to keep her identityconfidential.
Um, but she's been working withme for a while now.
We're in more of a maintenancecontinuation situation, but
she'd suffered for years and shewas skeptical whenever she first

(12:51):
started and just felt like Godwas really wanting her to join
up with me and take this journeytogether.
And she was actually getting acolonoscopy around the time we
first started talking.
And, you know, I said, you knowwhat?
Whether that colonoscopy comesback showing something like
inflammatory bowel disease or itcomes back with nothing and they

(13:15):
say everything looks fine, you're going to need some
support no matter what.
Navigating those results andnavigating a plan of action and
having support along the way.
And that really resonated withher and she signed up and
ultimately the colonoscopy waslike many of you, it was clear
they didn't see anything inthere.
And so since then, we've beenable to figure out what's going

(13:38):
on.
And like I said, it wasn't.
I opened the book and all of theanswers were right in front of
me.
It took a lot of work and timeon both of our parts and
consistency on her part.
And she's gotten to this pointnow where she used to be a
fitness trainer, um, years ago.
And whenever we were firstworking together, she couldn't
work out.
If she tried to work out, shewas achy for days.

(14:00):
She was having to take a napevery single day, like a couple
hour nap every single day.
I hear that from a lot of youguys.
So you're not alone if that'syou.
And, um, it was just notthriving.
Her relationships weresuffering.
Um, she and her husband werevery active on trips and
vacations, and she felt like shewasn't able to participate
anymore and it was just a hugeburden.

(14:22):
So tell me kind of, if you'renodding your head to this and
it's resonating, but, um, youknow, she kind of was on that
all or nothing food.
Place to where it was like shewould eat super restrictive.
She do super strict eliminationdiets, wouldn't feel
significantly different thansaid, well, whatever I'm going
to eat cheeseburgers and fries, cause nothing helps me feel
better anyway.

(14:43):
So I'm just going to eat foodthat tastes good, at least.
Um, so she was like doing thesewide swings from one extreme to
the next, because she justdidn't feel like anything
helped.
And we've gotten her bloatingdown.
She may take like a 10 or 15minute cat nap and a few days a
week if she wants to, but shedoesn't feel like her day is
wrecked.
If she can't go take a two hournap, she's confident in what

(15:05):
she's eating.
Her energy levels are increased.
She's been traveling again andbeing active.
And you guys, she's actuallybeen.
training for a triathlon thatshe's going to be participating
in in just a couple of weeks forthe first time in years.
And so just seeing her be ableto be active and doing things
that she loves again has been sorewarding.

(15:26):
And she was absolutely doing.
All three of these things that Ishared with you guys today.
So I just wanted to share astory of inspiration.
A few things for you to startimplementing on your own.
And like I said, if, if whatI've been saying resonates, if
you want some support, if you,if you're tired of trying to do
this on your own, reach out andI'd love to talk with you.
Um, and I hope you guys have agreat week.

(15:48):
I hope that you're leavingfeeling really inspired and
uplifted and all of that.
Um, I love this work that I dowith Got Health and, um, I'm so
