fear the right hand. You're
listening to the OVW podcast, the unofficial podcast of OVW.
Jackman Ochs (00:22):
Brian Heinz
toasting me
Brian Hines (00:23):
right here.
Jackman Ochs (00:24):
Welcome to the OVW
Podcast, the unofficial podcast
of Ohio Valley Wrestling. Myname is Jackman Oakes.
Brian Hines (00:29):
And I am Brian
Hynes. Pleasure to see you
again, folks.
Jackman Ochs (00:32):
Today, we're
getting into all the action for
OVW Rise 1283, emanating liveoriginally from historic Davis
Arena on March 8, 2024. But
Brian Hines (00:41):
we will not be
spoiling the OVW March Mayhem in
this episode.
Jackman Ochs (00:46):
No. That'll be
next up on the
Brian Hines (00:47):
We'll we'll spoil
that later. But for now, we we
will have no spoilers. Although,it was a hell of a show.
Jackman Ochs (00:53):
I am willing to
say that. I will just say that
right now. What a show. We werein we were live in attendance.
What a show.
Cannot wait to bring you all theaction pay per view March
Mayhem. Cannot wait to bring youall the action from pay per
view. It looks like tiny Brianjust dug into the, the bourbon,
the mystery bourbon here. TinyBrian, what did you think here
at the top of the show?
TyniBrian (01:12):
I thought it was
okay. I had heard I had heard it
was a controversial blend, but,I enjoyed it just fine.
Brian Hines (01:19):
I can feel the
hairs growing out of my chest as
we speak.
Jackman Ochs (01:21):
It is a, a wheat
from the Shafter, so to speak.
Brian Hines (01:24):
John Shafter?
Jackman Ochs (01:25):
Definite. Is that
oh, the man?
Brian Hines (01:29):
Well, shut your
mouth.
Jackman Ochs (01:30):
Oh, that one.
Brian Hines (01:30):
That's what I
thought.
Jackman Ochs (01:31):
I can I I can
never remember his first name?
Brian Hines (01:33):
It's John.
Jackman Ochs (01:34):
We weren't we
weren't that close.
Brian Hines (01:36):
Oh, I see.
Jackman Ochs (01:36):
We weren't that
close. So Well,
TyniBrian (01:38):
he was a rebel, a
loner.
Brian Hines (01:40):
No. That's that's
Pee wee Herman.
TyniBrian (01:43):
Well, him too.
Brian Hines (01:44):
John Shaft is a
complicated man and nobody, I
mean nobody, understands him buthis woman.
Jackman Ochs (01:50):
But Jack Vonn is a
veteran. He was last up in our
feed on our weekly Thursday
Brian Hines (01:54):
That he was.
Jackman Ochs (01:55):
Interviews. That
was a great interview. That was
part of that marathon date ofinterviews me and you did.
Brian Hines (02:00):
Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (02:02):
It's kind of weird
to sit and listen to those back
because they all kind of thatwas a big day for us. Not only
all the interviews going outthat night to the, Manchester is
the night of the Manchestershow. Yeah. It's great to sit
and and listen to thoseinterviews back. We are just
sitting and listen to thoseinterviews back almost, like,
surreal.
Like, I can't believe that I putthem on or that we put them on
because I really don't they feelso
TyniBrian (02:24):
They do feel a bit
like
Jackman Ochs (02:25):
a blur experience.
Yeah. Like a blur. Yeah.
Brian Hines (02:27):
Like Well, we we
had there were probably close to
10 people that stopped by thatday. Yeah. And we did interviews
with, I wanna say 5, and thatwas all in the span of, like, 2
hours.
TyniBrian (02:41):
Yeah. Five people in
4 segments
Jackman Ochs (02:42):
because
TyniBrian (02:43):
we we had both tusks
and chains in one segment. Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (02:46):
So Yeah. And that
was, We had
TyniBrian (02:48):
to install an extra
wide filter on the just to have
Donovan Cecil in the shot withyou 3.
Jackman Ochs (02:52):
So It's true. It's
true. And we, you guys are just
now seeing the fruits of ourlabor. We're just now kinda
getting to hear back the fruitsof our labor from that day. We
will still bring you great, great interviews every single
Thursday in the feed, the typeof quality that you come to
expect here, the unofficialquality that you come to expect
here from
TyniBrian (03:12):
us.
Jackman Ochs (03:12):
And, up next, if I
have it right, is a lot of stuff
that you, mister Brian Hines, did at Comic Con.
Brian Hines (03:20):
Yeah. Yeah. Is that
right?
Jackman Ochs (03:21):
Do I have that
right?
TyniBrian (03:22):
That is correct. This
Thursday, we will have our Comic
Con special, which includes someconversations with several OVW
personalities.
Brian Hines (03:28):
So we're we're
gonna do the whole thing in 1
big shot.
TyniBrian (03:30):
In 1 big audio. Yes.
Brian Hines (03:32):
Okay. And
TyniBrian (03:32):
we will release the
videos as reels, after the fact.
Yes.
Brian Hines (03:36):
That was another
marathon day for me. You hadn't
made it there yet.
Jackman Ochs (03:40):
And was, firmly
hungover, laying in bed. I think
actually I'd actually think Iwas doing stuff that day, to be
fair. I'll give myself credit. Ithink I was actually doing
TyniBrian (03:50):
stuff that day. There
was you you needed to go and get
those jeans.
Brian Hines (03:54):
Yeah. You needed to
go to the mall to get pants.
Jackman Ochs (03:56):
Yes. Yeah. That
that checks out. Yeah. Yeah.
But no. That was actually thethat's one of my favorite things
that you do around here, Brian,is those we like to call them
the mean gene segments. You kindof just getting in there and not
taking no for an answer, youknow, jumping in there and, I
haven't heard or seen any of thevideo from Comic Con. So I'm
(04:17):
very much looking forward toseeing what you guys are up to
all day without me before I wasable to show up to the Comic
Con.
Brian Hines (04:22):
It was, it was an
interesting show. There was a
lot going on. Talked to a lot ofpeople. Saw a lot of people in
costume. Just any and all kindsof things that you can imagine
that you would see at a ComicCon.
They were all right there forfor your viewing pleasure.
Jackman Ochs (04:40):
Yeah. Comic Con
was a lot of fun this past year.
It's it's only kind of my secondtime I've ever been to anything
like that. I missed all the funthat you guys had but definitely
showed up with enough time tospend way too much money.
Brian Hines (04:52):
Amen to that.
TyniBrian (04:53):
Yeah. Yeah. It is a a
a super nerdy swap meet for
every kind of nerd imaginable.
Brian Hines (04:59):
Yes.
TyniBrian (05:00):
And so if if nothing
else, if you're not into
getting, like, signatures fromcelebrities or anything like
that, there is a whole world ofjust belt buckles
Jackman Ochs (05:19):
that I'm gonna
wear I'm going to wear myself.
You will see them on this feedaround my, shoulders here.
Brian Hines (05:25):
Okay. I'm
Jackman Ochs (05:26):
gonna I'm kinda
gonna bring in the the I kinda
I've seen other dudes with themail carry all. I kinda like it.
TyniBrian (05:32):
So it's a variation
on the fanny pack kid.
Jackman Ochs (05:34):
Yeah. Yeah. No.
Seriously.
TyniBrian (05:35):
I I know. You're the
Sailor Moon purse man.
Jackman Ochs (05:37):
Yeah. This is,
like, Cal Hero meets, like,
Harry Styles, I think, meets,Malachi and his d and d friends,
I think is what it it's it's ait's a a meld, a fusion of all
of those, a melting pot of all
Brian Hines (05:53):
of those. It's a
blend.
Jackman Ochs (05:54):
A blend. A blend.
TyniBrian (05:56):
A cocktail of pop
culture, if you will.
Jackman Ochs (05:59):
Let's jump into
some headlines, Brian Hynes,
from OVW.
Brian Hines (06:03):
So our coverage of
OVW Overdrive continues this
week with Tiny Brian and seniorproducer Victor bringing you all
the action from the Tuesdayevening event.
Jackman Ochs (06:13):
If if you guys
don't, catch up on that show, if
you guys haven't dipped intothat show, please do. It's a
great show. Victor and Brian, tiny Brian, the hosts of
Bluegrass Homefront, they bringa different vibe than what me
and Brian Hines do on thisMonday or on this Tuesday show.
This Monday evening show is whenwe record it. Give them a
listen.
It's fun. It's 15, 20 minutes ofyour time. It's it's a lot
Brian Hines (06:35):
of fun. Oh, yeah.
It's
TyniBrian (06:36):
great. Oh, and I do
have an an announcement about
that. Thank you for those verykind words, gentlemen. We we do
try to do something a littledifferent on there. And for
those of you who have watchedOverdrive or who maybe even for
those who haven't, it is deepin, like, key fabe fantasy.
Like, Brian Kennison wasrecently sold, to a fighting
(06:59):
ring in, Austria, and he had totravel across all of Europe to
get back to the Davis arena. Sothere there's apparently a whole
universe with some pretty deeplore in this overdrive thing. So
Victor and I are gonna have theman behind all of that madness
himself, Brian Kennison, jump onand talk to us and kinda give us
(07:21):
the lowdown on what overdrive isall about and, and and kinda
give us a primer so that we'rewe're a little better at
covering it. Because for us, itit's a lot. It overdrive is a
lot.
Deep learning curve there. Itis. So Kennison's gonna help us
out and help and by extension, help all of you out. So, yeah,
keep watching for that. That'llprobably be in during the,
(07:42):
overdrive episode.
If not this week because there'sa lot going on this week, maybe
next week, but very soon,Kennison's gonna come and and
kinda help us out with all that.So I'm pretty excited about
that.
Jackman Ochs (07:52):
Always good to
have Kennison on the feed. Oh,
yeah. Absolutely. Been a bighelp to us around here. Yeah.
Brian Hines (07:56):
I mean, he's no
Eric Cornish.
Jackman Ochs (07:58):
He's I
Brian Hines (07:58):
mean He's
Jackman Ochs (07:59):
an alright guy.
He's an
Brian Hines (08:00):
alright guy. But,
you know yeah. Not a good guy.
TyniBrian (08:03):
So He is also a good
guy. Come on.
Jackman Ochs (08:05):
He's a great guy.
Brian Hines (08:06):
Yeah. He is. We're
just kidding. Yeah. We love
Brian Kennison.
Jackman Ochs (08:10):
We love Eric
Cornishmore.
TyniBrian (08:12):
We do have some some
somber news to get to as well.
Brian Hines (08:16):
Yeah. We'll we'll
get to that here in in just a
minute.
Jackman Ochs (08:18):
Yeah. Let's do
let's run through, let's kinda
book in this with the tourdates.
Brian Hines (08:22):
Yeah. We'll go
ahead and, give you guys, an
updated, tour itinerary. InMarch 30th, they are going to
appear in London, Kentucky, which I would, I would love to
be at that show, but, mostlybecause that's where my mom and
dad went on their honeymoon. AndI've always been curious as to
what London, Kentucky was like.But,
Jackman Ochs (08:41):
I went to 4 h camp
there.
Brian Hines (08:42):
Oh, how was it?
Jackman Ochs (08:43):
It was, some of
the best some of the best times
of my life in all honesty.Mister cynical over here is some
of the best times of my life.
Brian Hines (08:49):
Oh, alright then.
Jackman Ochs (08:50):
Great little town.
Pretty little place.
Brian Hines (08:52):
April 26th, they
will be in Nashville, Tennessee.
May 2nd, OVW Doublecross will belive from the Kentucky Derby
Festival and on pay per view. The Kentucky Derby Festival run
for the ropes, is also wait.
TyniBrian (09:08):
It's the same night.
Jackman Ochs (09:08):
It's the same
night.
TyniBrian (09:09):
We don't understand
it either.
Jackman Ochs (09:11):
I did wanna
Really? I did kinda wanna ask
you what here while we'rerunning into this issue. What
does a split OVW show look like?Because if I have this right,
Tony Bryan, the show fromLouisville run for the ropes
will be in the place of weeklytelevision. Right?
TyniBrian (09:28):
No. The double cross
will be in the place of weekly
television. If you watch OVW onone of the local television
stations here, here in CentralKentucky, Louisville, wherever
else it shows on actualterrestrial TV, you will have a
normal experience watching OVW.OVW. If you watch it on, the
(09:49):
Internet, on YouTube, or any ofthe rest of that, it will not be
in its normal live stream.
It will be a pay per view event,on that at that moment. So Wait.
Brian Hines (09:59):
What? So if I have
That's my understanding. Regular
TV, I can watch it for free.
TyniBrian (10:04):
Right. Like all the
CW here in Lexington, it'll be
in its normal timeslot.
Jackman Ochs (10:07):
So they gotta get
you one of those $10 antennas we
were telling you about. Yeah. I
TyniBrian (10:11):
guess. But for
everybody else, it will be,
apparently a pay per viewcaliber event. It will be
somewhere in down low downtownLouisville Thursday before the
Derby, I guess.
Jackman Ochs (10:23):
Okay. So Alright.
I think that this I've mentioned
this before that I really wannago to this Nashville show. I
think that since we'll be ableto see what the Louisville show
looks like hint hint, guys. Ithink if we can come up with
some money to send me toNashville, I would love to see
for journalistic purposes whatthe non televised show looks
(10:43):
like in Nashville that evening, the same night as the Louisville
show.
Brian Hines (10:46):
Of course. Allow me
to just fart out a couple of
$100 bills, and I'll send you onyour way.
Jackman Ochs (10:50):
Oh, no. We'll
we'll figure it out. Okay.
Brian Hines (10:52):
We'll figure it
out. So according to these
notes, there is a OVW show inNashville, Tennessee and in
Lexington, Kentucky atLouisville, Kentucky at Run for
the Ropes on April 26th. I'm notsure how that will work.
Jackman Ochs (11:05):
But I'm
TyniBrian (11:06):
not sure that Run for
the Ropes is an actual, like,
show. Okay.
Brian Hines (11:11):
So
TyniBrian (11:11):
there might be some
sort of meet and greet
Brian Hines (11:13):
There is a thing
TyniBrian (11:14):
called Run for the
Ropes.
Brian Hines (11:15):
Called Run for the
Ropes.
TyniBrian (11:16):
We don't know what it
it
Brian Hines (11:17):
is. Okay. So there
that is also a thing that we are
somewhat aware about. Yes. DesPlaines, Illinois on May 31st,
Longport, Indiana on June 1st,and OVW pay per view at
Appalachian wire Wireless Arenain Pikeville, Kentucky in
August.
Jackman Ochs (11:35):
We don't have a
firm date for that as of yet
because that one gotrescheduled. Right?
TyniBrian (11:39):
Yeah. It was
originally going to be the week
that the, double cross was goingto be.
Jackman Ochs (11:45):
Okay.
Brian Hines (11:45):
It would
TyniBrian (11:45):
have been around that
same time. So they moved because
they're gonna do the the derbypay per view, which is
understandable.
Brian Hines (11:52):
Sure.
TyniBrian (11:52):
Right. So yes.
Jackman Ochs (11:53):
And And whenever
whenever there's a firm date for
that, we'll be sure to get thatout to you, dear listener of
this podcast.
TyniBrian (12:00):
Yes. Pikeville you
know, August will be our 1 year
anniversary here at the podcast.
Brian Hines (12:05):
That's true. August
3rd in case you're, pet
following along at home.
TyniBrian (12:08):
Yes. And, and
Pikeville happens to be where
senior producer and I are from. We're both Pikeville. Not we're
both from kinda out in thedarkness, about 45 minutes away
from Ikeville, but that's wherethat's where the Walmart That's
Jackman Ochs (12:22):
where you get
groceries.
TyniBrian (12:23):
That's where we no.
We had grocery stores, but
that's where we went to Walmartfor the big stuff.
Jackman Ochs (12:27):
Right. Right. And
if if you find yourself in
Pikeville, can I say if you findyourself in Pikeville that that,
whatever weekend that is, shootus an Instagram message? Yeah.
Yeah.
Brian Hines (12:38):
Shoot us
TyniBrian (12:39):
an Instagram message.
It's going down.
Jackman Ochs (12:40):
Yeah. Just shoot
us an
TyniBrian (12:41):
Instagram message.
Big night. We're we're excited.
Jackman Ochs (12:43):
Yeah. Yeah. We'll
we'll we'll check we'll check
you at the door. If you don'tpass the test, that's fine, but
shoot us an Instagram message.
Brian Hines (12:49):
All tickets are
available at ovwtx dotcom, and
we will get into all the actionfrom last Thursday right after
this.
TyniBrian (12:58):
Hey, folks. Tiny
Brian here with you from,
Bluegrass Homefront. Listen,we've run into a little bit of a
problem. Victor has lost themusic.
Brian Hines (13:09):
Oh, shit. Like, all
the music. Apparently, it was
That's bad.
TyniBrian (13:13):
Yeah. It's bad. It
sounds like the setup to, like,
a children's movie. When Victorloses all the music, he has to
go on a magical adventure tofind it. But, really, we just
have to search his basement, because it's just a hard drive
with a bunch of music on it.
So right now, we are looking forthat so we can start reaching
out to artists and and startbooking them in. We have been
(13:35):
reaching out to our first peoplefor interviews for the new
season. We've got some excitingthings some exciting, stories to
tell and some people to talk to.So looking and hoping to find
some other people besides justme and Victor to do some of that
storytelling in season 3, but itis coming soon. Until then,
check out all of the episodes, including our, our, interview
(13:59):
with several different Kentuckypoliticians.
Hope to do some more of that andbecause we all know there's
nothing Kentucky people likebetter than talking about
Kentucky. So season 3 ofBluegrass Home Front, we get
back to it. Until then, allepisodes are available now at
bluegrasshomefront.com orwherever you get your podcasts.
Now back to the OVW podcast.
Jackman Ochs (14:21):
Welcome back to
the OVW podcast. I am Jack
Monokes.
Brian Hines (14:24):
I'm still Brian
Hynes.
Jackman Ochs (14:26):
Let's see. Bout 1
here. Top of the hour. OVW Rise
1283.
Brian Hines (14:31):
We've got Beau
versus Dustin Jackson. And
Jackman Ochs (14:36):
we were we were
there. We were.
Brian Hines (14:38):
Yes. We were. And I
remember as soon as he was
announced. I mean, if you don'tknow Bo, he's a very big
intimidating dude.
Jackman Ochs (14:50):
If you don't know,
now you know.
Brian Hines (14:52):
Now you know.
TyniBrian (14:53):
Used to be Boa Meir.
Yes. Mhmm. Now they've
simplified.
Brian Hines (14:56):
It's it's like
Cher. Yes. Except for he's, a
wrestler, and he's veryintimidating. But you and I were
sitting together as theyannounced him, and I leaned over
to you and said, watch. Righthere, this is where he gets the
big the push where he's the thenext big bad guy.
Yep. And, he makes quick work ofDustin Jackson.
Jackman Ochs (15:18):
I didn't want it.
I said or this is Dustin Jackson
baby face breakout of the year.I was wrong. I'm a big Dustin
Jackson guy. I have been reallyglad to see him back around.
The promotion really, really amwas super high on him the last
time that he kind of had a, thathe's making his name in OVW.
Glad to see Beau, though, because I thought the way that
(15:39):
he was pushed in the NightmareRumble, where they just kind of
kept filing in larger and largerand larger guys, and he was
still taller and larger andstronger than every single one
of them. We haven't really seenhim a lot since then, if at all,
if I can really recall.
Brian Hines (15:55):
Not much, if any.
Jackman Ochs (15:57):
It was nice to
kinda see him slotted instantly
back in to this monster spotbecause I thought the the build
from the, the Nightmare Rumble,I would have had him on every
week just just destroying dudes.I would
Brian Hines (16:10):
have had him do
some version of this match every
week after the Nightmare Rumble.I'm kinda glad to see them get
him on track here. Yes. I amtoo. And, he had a very
impressive performance againstDustin Jackson, and, I I'm
cheesy like that, so I'm gonnago ahead and and go for it.
I'm sorry, miss Jackson. Yourboy done lost.
Jackman Ochs (16:34):
Go ahead, Brian.
I'm gonna let you take the next
segment for that joke.
Brian Hines (16:38):
Alrighty. So the
Golden Lions are going to fight
Beaches and Cream all over Davisarena, and this is the video
package that we see next. Theyare fighting in the hallway.
They're fighting through CowHero's promo, into the women's
locker room, out by theequipment trailer. And I noticed
this too.
I saw you put this in the notes,
Jackman Ochs (16:58):
and I was going to
Brian Hines (16:59):
bring that up. And
so throughout the like, this
TyniBrian (17:03):
is all throughout the
set.
Brian Hines (17:03):
Yeah. It's all
throughout
Jackman Ochs (17:05):
the episode. Kinda
kinda covered here.
Brian Hines (17:07):
It's it's all one
big long gag that goes the
length of the episode. But amongthe places
Jackman Ochs (17:13):
Not the first time
we've seen OVW do this, but
maybe the most effective timewe've seen OVW.
Brian Hines (17:17):
Yes. They did a
very good job of, visually
telling the story. And, it was avery good captivating story
that, builds on, the end of lastweek's episode where, beaches
and cream and the Golden Lions, have a showdown at, what's the
name of the bar? Is it Baxter's?
Jackman Ochs (17:35):
Baxter's, where
all of the finest ladies in
Louisville hang out, so I'vebeen told. Mhmm.
TyniBrian (17:41):
Not a sponsor.
Brian Hines (17:42):
The, Not at all.
Jackman Ochs (17:44):
The what what you
were about to touch on, though,
is there was the, graffiti
Brian Hines (17:50):
Yes.
Jackman Ochs (17:51):
For the legacy of
Brutality
Brian Hines (17:52):
Yes.
Jackman Ochs (17:53):
That, of course, I
think Josh was in that scene.
Right? Josh was
Brian Hines (17:58):
Was he in that
scene?
Jackman Ochs (17:59):
Yeah. He was, in I
think he was getting he was
doing something. He was gettingready for the show of, some
sort, but he was behind thescenes some sort and then to the
left of him Yes. In the shot yousaw, like, where it said LOB
forever.
Brian Hines (18:12):
Yeah. And fairly
fresh white spray paint.
Jackman Ochs (18:15):
Yeah. Well, you
know, no. It had been there
forever.
Brian Hines (18:17):
Oh, of course.
Jackman Ochs (18:18):
For several years
now. The legacy brutality,
brutality, of course, cash flowwas a huge part of that. Big
Zoe, a few other faces thatyou'd recognize, Josh Ashcraft
Brian Hines (18:27):
Of course.
Jackman Ochs (18:27):
Instrumental in
the success of that group. So
nice kinda throwback to, Yeah.
TyniBrian (18:33):
It looks like their
secret hot out.
Brian Hines (18:34):
Yeah. But do you
think it's just a throwback, or
do you think it's foreshadowing?Because I kinda feel like it's
foreshadowing based on my,couple of words with Josh
Ashcraft at the Comic Con. Well, past his prologue. Mhmm.
If you say so.
Jackman Ochs (18:48):
I'd I I don't know
either way. I didn't I haven't
spoken to anybody, to the effectof the future or the past of the
legacy brutality. But in theirtime, we've touched on it in
this feed. In their time, theywere one of the more beloved,
groups. Yes.
They were feared and terrifiedterrifying for a long time. And
towards the end of their run, they were, you know, hometown
(19:11):
boys done good, basically. Sowe'll see. We'll see. It would
be interesting in 2024 postNetflix, everything that's going
on in the current landscape ofOVW to bring back something like
legacy brutality, but we'll see.
We'll see.
Brian Hines (19:27):
It is not out of
the realm of possibility.
Jackman Ochs (19:29):
I should've I
should've I if I was being
smart, Brian, I would've coveredthe sketch here, and I would've
left this next matchup to you aspunishment, but I guess I will
take it here.
Brian Hines (19:38):
Have at
Jackman Ochs (19:39):
it. Carson Drake
with Ari Alexander and Cholonce
Royale Yes. Versus DaltonMcKenzie. Can we take a moment
here to mention Dalton McKenzieand his father? Sure.
Sure.
Brian Hines (19:53):
Well, on, so we
were in attendance at, Davidson
right now.
Jackman Ochs (19:57):
Punishment. Carson
Drake's the punishment.
Brian Hines (19:59):
Yeah. He
TyniBrian (20:00):
is. We love Dalton.
Jackman Ochs (20:01):
We yes.
Brian Hines (20:02):
Yes. So we were in
attendance at Davis Arena on
Wednesday.
TyniBrian (20:07):
Nope.
Brian Hines (20:08):
Thursday.
TyniBrian (20:09):
Exactly.
Brian Hines (20:09):
I've done a lot of
traveling. You'll have to,
forgive me because, from DavisArena on Thursday, went to work,
went straight from work to Ohio, grabbed my new lenses.
TyniBrian (20:21):
Oh, yes. Those
watching the video can note Hans
has glasses now.
Brian Hines (20:25):
I am, adjusting. If
you
Jackman Ochs (20:26):
thought he was
daddy
Brian Hines (20:27):
before. God.
Anyway, so I went straight from
work, to Ohio. Thought I'd havea minute to rest before I went
to the Spotmonkey show atEastern High School in
Russellville, Ohio. Realizedthat I had a half hour to get
there, and it was going to takeme about that long to travel
(20:48):
there in my car, so I wentstraight to it.
That was Dalton Mackenzie'shomecoming. He it was at his
high school, his alma almamater. I got to see all the
matches. Jack Vaughn was secondon the card, at which I found
surprising. I've I've got thewhole video of, Jack Vaughn's
(21:09):
badge.
Jackman Ochs (21:09):
He has stuff to do
the next day.
Brian Hines (21:11):
He he had he does
have stuff to do next day.
Jackman Ochs (21:12):
He actually Checks
still clear. He's the veteran,
man. Check still clears.
Brian Hines (21:15):
Yeah. Yeah. But,
yeah, that was definitely
Dalton's night. He was theheadliner. He came out, for the
main event looking like a$1,000,000 where in an Eastern
Warriors jersey had a fantasticmatch with Amos, and most of the
exciting action happened beforethe bell even rang.
(21:38):
Dalton comes out on top and hasthe whole place just on their
feet screaming. And then duringthe course of the night, I I
learned that Dalton's father hassome serious health issues, and
the whole thing was a at leastthe raffle part of it from,
(21:59):
studio 413 where I plan ongetting some ink very soon was a
not, yeah, not a sponsor, but, they do some great work. They
gave all the proceeds of theraffle that they sponsored to
Dalton and his family in theirtime of need. So I just wanna
say, Dalton, got you in myprayers, brother. Love you.
Jackman Ochs (22:20):
And there is a
GoFundMe for Dalton's family,
his father, suffering, pancreatic cancer, and, we will
be linking that GoFundMe in theshow notes today. If you guys
have a couple extra bucks, jingling around in in your couch
cushions or in your, you know, car car, cup rest, cup holder,
(22:42):
and you feel the need to give itto Dalton and his family, I know
that he would appreciate it.He's a great guy, a great
wrestler. Unfortunately, CarsonDrake got the better of him that
night. I really love DaltonMcKenzie's look.
You say he he came on theEastern Warriors jersey.
Obviously, like, very proud ofthat, like, Cincinnati area
Brian Hines (22:59):
Oh, yeah.
Jackman Ochs (23:00):
Upbringing. It's
funny to me because he reminds
me so much of, like, a jackedflying Brian Pillman.
Brian Hines (23:06):
Yeah. Like He does.
Jackman Ochs (23:07):
Down to, like, the
the Bengals, gear Yeah. And the
mullet. Like, he I I don't knowwhat it is about those
Cincinnati area wrestlers whereit's just, like, the mullet
looked great on him and thesingle that looks great on him.
But, Dalton McKenzie, man, really, really great.
Brian Hines (23:21):
Oh, he's a beast.
Jackman Ochs (23:22):
I'm really, really
have been a guy that you had
mentioned, really glad to seesome of these Spot Monkeys guys
that I've only heard so muchabout through you, make their
way down to the central, and andsouthern Ohio guys make their
way down to OVW, Dalton McKenziekinda being the latest. Guy is
hard not to like.
Brian Hines (23:42):
Yeah. Guy is
really, really, really hard not
to like. I mean, he had thismatch up until
Jackman Ochs (23:48):
Until the end.
Brian Hines (23:49):
Yeah. Right until
the end and We're diligent.
Yeah. Then that's because, youknow, Carson Drake being Carson
Drake is going to find a way to,win through nefarious
underhanded means.
TyniBrian (24:03):
I'm pretty sure he
took Carson's money and then
proceeded to beat him up.
Brian Hines (24:06):
He did. Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (24:07):
That was
TyniBrian (24:07):
You know, variant
Tom's name.
Brian Hines (24:09):
That that is very
much a Dalton Mackenzie thing to
do.
Jackman Ochs (24:14):
Miss miss Aria
Alexander, I will not be
referring to her as Katari. She,she threw Carson the the pearl
necklace. Carson uses it to hisadvantage, knocks out Dalton
McKenzie 1, 2, 3.
TyniBrian (24:26):
That's the most
famous wrestling weapon in the
world. No comment.
Brian Hines (24:31):
There are very few
time I never mind. I'm just
going to leave it.
Jackman Ochs (24:35):
Pearls are a
little expensive to be using in
a fight. Sure.
TyniBrian (24:37):
You would think.
Yeah. Probably not real pearls.
Probably not made by oysters.
Jackman Ochs (24:41):
Well
TyniBrian (24:42):
Because they were
big. I saw I got a good look. It
was a really big pearl necklace.
Jackman Ochs (24:47):
Ari deserves real
pearl pearls. Carson's a hack
and wouldn't buy her for her.
TyniBrian (24:51):
Oh, before we move
on, Brian, were there any other,
people at the Spotmonkey showwho over w fans would recognize
besides those 2?
Brian Hines (25:01):
Present tense? No.
However, I think at some point,
sooner or later, we're gonna betalking about, Justin Xavier.
He's, he's young. He's a veryhungry guy.
He, one of his tags on socialmedia is the slim reaper, and
(25:24):
he's, you know, mostly a a goodguy now who's got a, an eighties
video game themed, gimmick goingon. I'm not really entirely sure
what the the backstory is onthat. I would love to be able to
sit down and get an interviewwith him at, the next Spotmonkey
show here in about a month. But,at some point, I think that you
(25:49):
were gonna see him down herechallenging for the, Rush title.
Jackman Ochs (25:53):
Yeah. I mean,
you've made a pretty good,
history so far. A pretty goodreputation, for calling some of
these Spot Monkeys guys, shot atOVW. So we'll see. Only time
only time will tell.
Brian Hines (26:08):
Oh, yeah. I've I've
seen him for 3 or 4 years now
around, Southern Ohio. And whenI first saw him, he was good,
but
TyniBrian (26:17):
he was just so super
green and nervous.
Brian Hines (26:20):
And, you know,
flash forward, 3 or 4 years
later, and the guys gotconfidence. Skill level has
increased exponentially, andring performance and,
entertainment value is right upthere with the best of them. So
here's hoping that everybodyelse gets a chance to see what I
see.
Jackman Ochs (26:40):
And what what was
his name? Because I because we
know OVW listens to every singleword of this. What was his name
again?
Brian Hines (26:45):
Justin Xavier.
Jackman Ochs (26:46):
Yeah. Then we we
know how much they love our,
suggestions on what they shoulddo and what they shouldn't do.
Brian Hines (26:50):
Of course.
Jackman Ochs (26:51):
Before, before the
next bout, this is the match 3
of the night between, who who Ilike to call fake man, Adam
Page, Jason Hendricks, andJodipayso. Will Austin comes out
to the commentary booth to docommentary for this match. Of
course, Will Austin, has alreadycemented his spot in the
upcoming pay per view, so he'scoming out to kind of, I guess,
(27:13):
taunt taunt HOTA pesos, scoutHOTA pesos. Yeah. Kind of just,
play a multilateral game hereagainst Hode Pesos and get a
little bit of microphone timehere, which I will not complain
about because we should alwayspush Will Austin.
Brian Hines (27:28):
Mhmm. I I knew that
I knew how you felt about,
having him on commentarybecause, your big thing your
your first shirt would be a PushWill Austin.
Jackman Ochs (27:38):
Push Will Austin
in the unofficial VW shop No.
One day.
Brian Hines (27:43):
I do not disagree
with that sentiment at all.
Jackman Ochs (27:45):
No. That's a one
of 1. I'm wearing it every day.
I'm wearing it to bed. That'swhat you do with your heroes.
You wear them to bed like alittle kid. That's what you do.
You wear your superheroes on thepajamas like a child.
TyniBrian (27:54):
So I'm hearing we
need to get you some Will Austin
underwears.
Jackman Ochs (27:56):
Some some Will
Austin a Will Austin onesie.
Like footy pajamas? Yeah.
Brian Hines (28:01):
Yeah. Nice.
TyniBrian (28:03):
Just get a full body
shot and just put it on the one
Jackman Ochs (28:05):
And it says it
says push Will Austin. Instead
of push Will Austin.
TyniBrian (28:10):
I I will note I would
like to note for the record, I
don't remember if this was hereor the pay per view. It doesn't
matter. There was a moment wherethe crowd decided to chant, will
you suck? And they got it outabout 3 times, and then
everybody realized it wasbasically a double entendre. And
(28:31):
and everybody looked lookedlooked embarrassed.
And it was just one of myfavorite things that's ever
happened in a lot of you in mywhole life. So the,
Brian Hines (28:41):
the
Jackman Ochs (28:42):
the boys' sweet 16
game is is in, Lexington this
this week. Do you ever go tothose? Would you ever go to,
like, a big game where theyhave, like, the the the chant
leaders in front of the crowds? That's
TyniBrian (28:56):
We call those
cheerleaders.
Jackman Ochs (28:57):
No. No. No. No.
No.
This is different than thecheerleaders. This is like a
student that would be leadingthe chants for the
TyniBrian (29:03):
Oh, the one the one
that's big and loud. Yeah. I've
done
Jackman Ochs (29:05):
that job. I think
most of the time, the chance in
Davis arena, spot on. Sometimes,a little off. Every once in a
while, I think we need to tweakthose. Bring in a guy like that,
really kind of refine some ofthese ideas and some of these,
chants that we try to get goingin the Davis arena.
I think then they're gonna begold every single time, but some
of them are questionable. We'rejust gonna be honest, dear,
(29:26):
Davis arena participants in thechants. Some of the chants are
not all there. We need to takethem back to the drawing board
sometimes, and Will You Suck isa great example of that.
Jotepeso, of course, ahead ofthe pay per view, no question
about it, takes someone tovictory over Jason Hendricks
here.
Brian Hines (29:44):
Yeah. This was just
a formality match, really. Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (29:47):
Yeah. A a great
excuse to see Jota in action. A
great great excuse to get Willout there in commentary. Great
excuse to have them stare eachother down before the pay per
view match. Perfectly done.
Perfectly done. Did everythingit needed to do. It didn't need
to be spectacular. Dideverything it needed to do,
though. No.
Brian Hines (30:00):
It was perfect.
Jackman Ochs (30:02):
This next match
between Shane Burster and Maximo
Suave, my close personal bestfriend, Maximo Suave, we
actually ran into him in theparking lot of the Davis Arena.
Brian Hines (30:10):
We sure did. Always
a pleasure.
Jackman Ochs (30:12):
Always a pleasure.
Always has it's just like he's
such a funny guy and has such agreat mind for wrestling and is
so honest, and he told us aheadof this match. I found out
tonight I'm wrestling Shane forthe first time. He's gonna throw
me around. He said, do you doyou guys need to talk about it?
I said, why? No. He's just gonnathrow me around. Do I have that
(30:34):
about right? It's sound aboutwhat Maximo said.
Brian Hines (30:38):
And then he's he
asked us whether he'd we'd ever
seen his workout videos, and wewere like, no. But apparently,
Jackman Ochs (30:45):
he just, you know,
lifts Starts off with, like,
500. Yeah. Ridiculous The ShaneMercurio.
Brian Hines (30:50):
Workouts and it
just goes from there. But, yeah,
I think we all knew what we weregetting when, these 2 hit the
ring and
Jackman Ochs (30:58):
And it would it
didn't have to be anything more
than that either. It wasperfect. Maximo was Maximo was
great. I was I was actuallyreally glad that there was not
as much throwing of the Maximoas Maximo was worried about
because I did think it was agreat opportunity for Maximo to
show, show out, show what he'scapable of doing too. Yeah.
But he did make Shane look everybit of what we've been led to
(31:21):
believe Shane Mercer is.
Brian Hines (31:23):
Oh, I fully believe
he's he's all that and and then
some.
Jackman Ochs (31:26):
Yeah. And and, you
know, this is ahead again. This
is the go home show. So Sousually on an OVW pay per view
cycle, this show is it can be alittle slower in pace. It can be
a little more predictable.
That's not always a bad thing, but it is you know, they're
turning on doing a Thursdayshow, and then we're doing a
show on Saturday. So sometimesthese matches are a little more
(31:47):
straightforward than they needto be, but that's not
necessarily a bad thing ahead ofa pay per view. Shane Mercer
looks like a killer, and, that'swhat he needed to do. Go heading
into the pay per view againstthe much bigger Big Zoh in to
conclude their best of 7.
Brian Hines (32:03):
Yes.
Jackman Ochs (32:04):
Great match. Man,
Shane Mercer, everybody's
favorite shiny new toy at DavisArena. I I love him, man. You
it's he's hard not to like. He'sso physically impressive.
Yeah. Just in general, but themoonsault and battery. No one
should be That
Brian Hines (32:20):
is outstanding.
Yeah. How how is that even,
possible, like, given the lawsof physics and stuff? It doesn't
seem like anybody should be ableto do that, but here here we are
week after week just wow.
Jackman Ochs (32:34):
Shane Mercer, he's
just he's just built like this
fucking bulldog, man. He'sinsane. He's it's the the feats
of strength he can do, theathleticism that he has, he is
he is just something he'ssomething you can't teach. I'm
glad that he decided to startwrestling and not, like, trying
to, kung fu fight people becausenone of us would stand a chance.
(32:56):
I'm glad that he decided to comeentertain us because he is just
a physical specimen all the wayaround.
Yes. Incredible. Incredible guy.Our one main event, non title
match between Jay De Niro, ofcourse, accompanied by Tony
Evans this time, flip flopped.Right.
And, media champion, countryboy, media champion, Cal Hero.
TyniBrian (33:17):
I think on the 3rd,
maybe 4th time we've seen Jay De
Niro compete if you compete ifyou count the Nightmare Rumble.
In OVW? Yes. In OVW as Jay DeNiro.
Brian Hines (33:30):
Not a whole lot of
times. About a handful or so.
Jackman Ochs (33:33):
It's so so few
times that it's worth noting.
Yes. Right? This, it's kind ofhard to, you know, get into
these matches in any sort of,like, straightforward analytical
way because it is right rightahead of the pay per view. And
most of the time, we know whatthat means.
Right? When we're when we're 3days away from a pay per view,
(33:54):
it means that not a lot's gonnachange in terms of of the card
and in terms of storyline, interms of, like, ranking in our
minds, like, the way that fansrank wrestlers, etcetera,
etcetera, etcetera, which iskind of a perfect opportunity
for what happened here to happenin this match versus Jaden with,
Jaden Nero versus Cal Hero. Themasked men show up and run rough
(34:19):
shot everybody.
Brian Hines (34:20):
Well, I mean, they
start off by assaulting Cal
Hero.
Jackman Ochs (34:23):
Yeah.
Brian Hines (34:24):
They they hit the
ring in the middle of this match
and, assault Cal Hero, you know, and and everybody thinks that,
oh, they're, you
Jackman Ochs (34:33):
know They're Tony
Evans
Brian Hines (34:34):
guys. Tony Evans
guys. Yeah. But, no. That's not
the case because the masked mentake them out too, leaving the
whole crowd speechlessspeechless.
Like, what just happened? Andand who are these people and
why? And what do they reallywant? And what are they really
after?
Jackman Ochs (34:48):
And at this time,
you know, stuff has happened,
you know, that we know aboutthat we won't cover in this
feed. At this time, there reallystill kind of is no indication
more or less of who the maskedmen are from the first time that
we've seen.
Brian Hines (35:05):
Outside of what we
may have observed at, tough
love, which we kind of alludedto but we didn't actually come
out and say.
Jackman Ochs (35:15):
You mean, like,
tough tough love, February's pay
for you?
Brian Hines (35:18):
Yes. We they were
there at the that page Right. We
had the unsection
TyniBrian (35:22):
match with the last
time we saw mister spectacular.
Jackman Ochs (35:25):
Right. Right. Yes.
Yes, man. Yeah.
Jesse, where where are you,Jesse?
TyniBrian (35:29):
He's whacked
Jackman Ochs (35:30):
out. What happened
to you, Jesse?
TyniBrian (35:31):
He's literally walked
hosting a show called whacked
out.
Brian Hines (35:35):
Really? Is it like
Rob Dyrdek show? It's basically
the old whacked out sports. That's whack.
TyniBrian (35:41):
Just no sports. Just
whack. It's it's just America's
Funniest Home Videos redux.
Jackman Ochs (35:46):
Is it, like, fail
vids?
TyniBrian (35:48):
Yes. Okay.
Brian Hines (35:49):
Oh. Exactly. Well,
why don't they just call it fail
ville?
TyniBrian (35:52):
Well, because swacked
out was apparently a brand had
brand recognition.
Brian Hines (35:57):
Sure.
TyniBrian (35:58):
Anyway, that's pretty
much what I'm pretty sure
Jackman Ochs (36:01):
it's worth it.
Good for him. Good for him. Cash
that check, buddy.
TyniBrian (36:03):
Yes.
Jackman Ochs (36:04):
It's better than
following me back. In all
seriousness, good for you, man.
Brian Hines (36:08):
Alright then.
TyniBrian (36:08):
I don't know if it's
better.
Jackman Ochs (36:10):
It is. It is.
Nobody wants to fall on your
back.
Brian Hines (36:12):
Yeah. But I don't
feel compelled to watch that
show.
TyniBrian (36:15):
That's fine. The cash
Jackman Ochs (36:16):
that it's it's
going in the bank account. Going
in the bank account.
TyniBrian (36:22):
Anyway
Jackman Ochs (36:24):
At the, top of the
hour here. Top of the hour here.
No decision. Right? We coveredthis masked men.
We still don't know where themasked men are.
TyniBrian (36:31):
And we'll we'll we'll
cover the masked men more in our
next episode.
Jackman Ochs (36:34):
We have we have
things to say about the
TyniBrian (36:36):
masked men. We do.
That that can keep for now.
Jackman Ochs (36:38):
Yeah. So this was
at the very top of the hour here
where Chris Dahl and KTE comeout. Right? Yes. They come out
and kind of, go over their timewith Carson Drake, remind
everyone of
Brian Hines (36:52):
The the bonehead
double date.
Jackman Ochs (36:54):
Yeah. Yeah. His,
his double date.
TyniBrian (36:57):
It's a bad rom com.
Jackman Ochs (36:58):
Yeah. Well, just
the bad com, really. There was
no romance that night.
Brian Hines (37:05):
No. And it wasn't
even that funny. That was just
dumb.
Jackman Ochs (37:10):
There's so we go
back and forth. Cars Crystal and
Kadee are getting their digs inon, Shallonsay and and Ari.
They're getting their digs in onCarson. There's a big thing that
happened with this this segmentYeah. On
Brian Hines (37:36):
Carson Drake and
Carson Drake being Carson Drake.
He appears Of course.
Jackman Ochs (37:41):
Calls it
Lewisville. Good touch.
Brian Hines (37:44):
Yeah. Original.
Says it has the worst airport.
Yeah. Good one.
That that's CVG. CVG, man.
Jackman Ochs (37:52):
Worst is
TyniBrian (37:53):
I'm too fat to fly,
so I don't know.
Jackman Ochs (37:57):
It it he car
there's a there's a point in
this where Carson Drake, pushesCrystal like he had been
planning on it.
Brian Hines (38:06):
Yeah. And Like, all
the way across the ring.
Jackman Ochs (38:08):
And there was an
audible gasp. Good on Krystal
for really kind of like Iron Manin the past few weeks between
the guitar shot and this massiveI mean, really guys massive push
from Carson Drake here. Reallyjust, like, power manning
through this. There was anaudible gasp throughout the
entire arena. It was a gasp, like a balloon popped and then
(38:33):
silence after Crystal hit theground from Carson Drake's,
push.
Brian Hines (38:37):
Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (38:38):
And then, I think
to get the crowd back in it
thankfully, to get the crowdback in it and to kind of get
the segment back on,
Brian Hines (38:48):
Katie. Katie. Katie
gives Carson a bit of the old
debts. My first, I don't knowyou from the Bobby Hill
playbook.
Jackman Ochs (38:55):
It and it couldn't
have come quick. Her her
punching Carson in the nutscouldn't have come quick enough
to kind of
Brian Hines (39:01):
No.
Jackman Ochs (39:01):
To kind of get the
arena and get the viewer back
on.
TyniBrian (39:05):
And she did
Jackman Ochs (39:06):
have It was very
it was very shocking to see.
Brian Hines (39:09):
It was. You don't
see that. No. And there are
reasons why you don't see that. And and I'm not I'm not, like,
saying it's good
Jackman Ochs (39:16):
or bad or the
other, but it was jarring to see
Crystal get flung across thering like that. Yeah. It really
was.
Brian Hines (39:23):
It was. And he
TyniBrian (39:24):
he also got Katie by
the hair if you'll remember.
Yeah. Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (39:27):
And that was She
did
TyniBrian (39:28):
the splits before she
hit him, which is just totally
crystal.
Jackman Ochs (39:31):
And I wonder I
wonder if Katie. Yeah. I wonder
if crystal Crystal's push is somuch more cemented in my mind
because she didn't get come upin the way that Katie did.
Because you're right. The himgrabbing Katie by the hair is
almost visually as jarring or ifnot more so than the push to
(39:52):
Krystal.
But Katie is the one that getsthe revenge. Krystal's still on
the ground. So I it's just likea kind of was a a weird thing to
watch, a weird thing to be livefor, and then rewatching it
live, or watching it back tocover it was, like even knowing
it was coming was even kind of,like, shocking and weird to be a
(40:13):
part of. Yeah. Without saying itwas good or bad or otherwise
because wrestling is a form ofentertainment.
Television is a form ofentertainment. These things like
things like this get covered inall forms of entertainment. I
just wonder, like, is wrestlingalways the place to cover, like,
violence against women? I don'tI don't know. That's a different
conversation for a differentday, and
Brian Hines (40:33):
that's not
Jackman Ochs (40:33):
necessarily what
they were covering here. But it
was very it is worth notingthat, like, man, it was shocking
to see her get flung across thering by Carson Drake like that.
It really was.
Brian Hines (40:42):
It was.
Jackman Ochs (40:43):
I'm really, really
glad, though, that the segment
ended with Katie's kind of, ropeassisted backflip into a nut
shot. I think that that was agood way to end it. Yeah.
Brian Hines (40:54):
Alright.
Jackman Ochs (40:56):
On to the next
bout, Brian Hines.
Brian Hines (41:00):
Yes. And, I am
pleased to report that one of us
is wrong because the very nextmatch and I I'm not gonna say it
was you because it wasn't.That's not who I was referring
to, and that wasn't necessarilyon our program. Okay. I believe
it was senior producer Victorsaying I'm
Jackman Ochs (41:21):
just so used to
being wrong on here, man. It's
alright. Mister Matt,
TyniBrian (41:24):
what what's going on?
Brian Hines (41:25):
America's
sweethearts.
TyniBrian (41:27):
Oh, we thought they
were gone.
Brian Hines (41:28):
Victor thought they
were gone. And I said, well,
maybe it's just a schedulingconflict or something. I don't
know. But here they are, thisyou know, at the, top of hour 2
after Carson Drake and and hisescapades, America's sweethearts
taking on Angelica Risk and,Shauna Reid, and, looking better
(41:49):
than they ever have. And I gotto thinking, during this match
on Thursday and their match onSaturday, who they remind me of
now.
And now that I see it, I don'tthink I can unsee it.
Jackman Ochs (42:00):
Who is it?
Brian Hines (42:02):
Rock and Roll
Express.
Jackman Ochs (42:03):
I was gonna say is
that the the the and Roll
Express?
Brian Hines (42:06):
The stereo drop
kicks, that kind of high
intensity positivity. I mean,you can't lose with a
combination like that. I mean, they've got going over the 3
things that we said that youneed if you're a professional
wrestler. You need the looks.
Jackman Ochs (42:23):
Got it.
Brian Hines (42:23):
You need the
skills. Got it. And you need the
mics.
Jackman Ochs (42:27):
Well, I mean, the
promo is the promo is there.
Like, I haven't heard them cutanything. I
Brian Hines (42:32):
haven't heard them
Jackman Ochs (42:33):
But the promo is
there.
TyniBrian (42:34):
Yes. Period. Guys,
can we talk a moment about the
Sofia Rose video?
Jackman Ochs (42:40):
That's what I'm
saying. Yes. The promo is there.
TyniBrian (42:42):
We have It doesn't
matter
Jackman Ochs (42:43):
what that girl
says. People are gonna go
fucking nuts for it, man. Peopleget it silent and when that
thing comes on, people clap andyes. And like this is
Brian Hines (42:51):
And people get
emotional too. People get
emotional. As they should.
Jackman Ochs (42:54):
Sofia Rose is the
type of baby face that you could
not build in a laboratory thatyou could not pray for a 1000
times. You could not write. Youcould not write. People would
not think that it's true. Like,Sophia Rose is is, like, got it.
Like, Sophia Rose, the the theall American sweethearts, this
(43:16):
tag team, like, if if if there'sever a time and it kinda looks
like there is. There's kind ofthese built these groups being
built in women's division allthe way around, kind of these,
like, separate factions beingbuilt, these kind of very
obvious tag teams being built.
Brian Hines (43:30):
Interestingly
enough
Jackman Ochs (43:31):
If there was ever
a time to make a women's tag
belt, it needs to be now and itneeds to be on the all American
sweethearts immediately, what'sit called, lightning in a bottle
here.
Brian Hines (43:49):
Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (43:50):
Like, and you
don't get that every day and and
the the best laid plans of miceand men, like, could could could
maybe maybe maybe maybe come upwith a Sophia Rose, but Sophia
Rose is here. Yeah. Sophia Roseis in OVW, and we need to we
need to figure out what to dowith that because any everything
(44:13):
she does is great, and andthere's gonna be a point with
her where the things you're notdoing with her are missed
opportunity because people areso on board for it.
Brian Hines (44:24):
Yes.
Jackman Ochs (44:24):
Like, I I'm I'm
I'm in I'm in the all American
sweethearts. I'm in the SofiaRose. I'm in the Lady Bird.
Like, let's get some belts.Let's get some big pretty belts.
Let's get some tag team beltsfor the women and, like, let's
let those girls fucking go.Like, it's like, what what more
can we what more can I say? Whatmore can I say?
Brian Hines (44:44):
Lady Bird, sir, we
salute you.
Jackman Ochs (44:47):
I would like to
say and they they faced a hell
and Shauna Reid. Shauna Reidactually got a lot of positive,
kind of feedback from the crowdas well.
Brian Hines (44:56):
Yes. She did.
Jackman Ochs (44:57):
And does a great
job of playing both no matter
what role she's given that week.Singles, heal, singles, baby,
tag. She's great. She's great. She's very, very seasoned.
She's very, very good. But Ithink it's just when you've got
the all American sweethearts onthe other side of the ring, it's
hard to talk about anythingelse. And that's the way OVW
(45:18):
wants it, and that's the waythat it is, and that's not a bad
thing
Brian Hines (45:22):
at all. Not at all.
Jackman Ochs (45:23):
Like, just, I
mean, you couldn't you just
can't you can't get given abetter scenario than Sophia Rose
and Lady Bird and the allAmerican sweethearts. You just
can't.
Brian Hines (45:33):
Amen to that.
Jackman Ochs (45:34):
You really can't.
If if this was it it it's it is
almost like a Disney Channeloriginal movie. Like, it's that
perfect and that sweet and thatsentimental and that just, like,
schmaltzy and boozy and happyand joyful. Like, it's it's it's
right there. Sofia Rose and LadyBird and the all American
(45:57):
sweethearts are right fuckingthere.
Take them. Push them to themoon.
TyniBrian (46:01):
30 incoming.
Jackman Ochs (46:02):
Push them to the
moon. Alright.
Brian Hines (46:07):
Alright. So after
their big Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (46:08):
Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Let's so we have a show to talk
about.
Brian Hines (46:11):
After their big
win, the bad girls club arrives
and they attack them and throwthem out. And, then they address
the room, and there are issuesbetween, La Princesa, Tiffany
Nieves, and Leila Gray, andthose cracks are starting to
show. And then Freya and Haileycome out and ask for a title
(46:31):
match, And Al makes the pay perview a fatal full way between
Hailey, Freya, Tiffany, andLeila, which
Jackman Ochs (46:41):
that's a
Brian Hines (46:41):
lot of bang for
your buck kids.
Jackman Ochs (46:42):
That sure is. It
sure is.
Brian Hines (46:44):
And I'm so looking
forward to talking about that
and everything else thathappened on Saturday at March,
May.
Jackman Ochs (46:51):
And I mean, those
are those are those are your 4
top girls right now. Right?
Brian Hines (46:56):
Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (46:57):
Like, if if we're
having a pay per view match, not
only does the inclusion of those4 get a lot of, like, your
ancillary characters on theoutside too, in the form of the
bad girls club, Ellie and Hema.I mean, it's a pay per view.
It's your 4 top girls. Like, let's there's no reason for them
not to all be on the cardtogether. I do kind of always
(47:18):
like 1 on 1 matches forchampionships, though.
That's just me, though.
Brian Hines (47:22):
Sure. But That's
Jackman Ochs (47:23):
just that's not me
complaining. That's just
Brian Hines (47:25):
a preference.
Sometimes, people color outside
of the lines, and that happeneda couple times on, on Saturday
night at the pay per view.
Jackman Ochs (47:32):
I can't wait to
get into Saturday night.
Brian Hines (47:33):
Me either. Got a
lot to talk about. But we'll
we'll save that for anothertime. That's not why we're here
tonight.
Jackman Ochs (47:39):
Bout number 7,
Tony Evans. This time, he's in
the ring. Jada Niro isaccompanying him.
Brian Hines (47:44):
Yes. Per usual. And
they, come out to the usual
superior superior Tony Evans, stick and, say that the masked
men did not finish the job. Theyare standing tall at the end of
the night, and if anybody in theback has the sack to come out
and do anything about it, TonyEvans isn't going anywhere. And
(48:07):
that means cue, Ragnar theruthless.
Jackman Ochs (48:10):
Ragnar the
ruthless. That's such a standout
for such a long time on thepreshow. Yes. What is now
called, Overdrive. Right?
Brian Hines (48:19):
Yes.
Jackman Ochs (48:19):
Standout for such
a long time on there is kind of
made his way onto the mainroster here and there.
Brian Hines (48:26):
Good for you, sir.
Jackman Ochs (48:27):
And, but I'm kind
of can't seem to pick up a win
whenever he's on the mainroster.
Brian Hines (48:36):
This this, evening,
no. He he did not come out on
the, the good end of the 3count. But what I found more
interesting was, what what theywere talking about on commentary
with, Jay De Niro. What wasthat? Well, first off, he wasn't
(48:58):
wearing his usual ring attire.
Right. He he's always, veryformally dressed, very sharply
dressed as one who is known asa, mafia enforcer.
Jackman Ochs (49:10):
I thought you're
gonna say
TyniBrian (49:12):
daddy. No.
Brian Hines (49:14):
I wasn't planning
on saying that, but you did. So
there we are.
Jackman Ochs (49:20):
One who is a daddy
is dressed that way usually.
Yes.
Brian Hines (49:22):
Yeah. But, tonight,
he was not. And we had, we had
actually spoken to him aboutthat when he was here the day of
the Manchester show. Mhmm. Andhe said that he had always been
in the same ring attire and hadasked if he was able to dress
down a little bit and was told,no.
(49:43):
Not yet. And not only did we seehim in a less formal version of
himself, but, they were alsotalking about him and his
backstory, and, Josh said thathe looked for video footage of
him outside of this and was ableto find any. Well, I'm pretty
(50:04):
sure we have some.
Jackman Ochs (50:04):
I think we might,
Yeah. I I Unofficially, I'm
willing to say we have
Brian Hines (50:09):
some some
unofficial footage that
Jackman Ochs (50:11):
Unofficially, I'm
willing to
Brian Hines (50:12):
say yes. There on
the interwebs. So We
TyniBrian (50:15):
really do. We really
have it.
Brian Hines (50:20):
Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (50:21):
And it would it
might really show up again
tomorrow morning on our socialmedia.
TyniBrian (50:26):
It might really be in
our stories.
Jackman Ochs (50:30):
Right now, it
might really be in our stories.
It might really be on TikTok.
TyniBrian (50:33):
Well, it yeah. It At
ovwpodcast.
Brian Hines (50:36):
What is it, Timmy?
Is that did, what is it, Lassie?
Did Timmy fall on a well?
TyniBrian (50:40):
Did Jay Gennaro make
a promo? Yes. He
Jackman Ochs (50:43):
did. And you can
find it on our website.
TyniBrian (50:45):
Post it into our
socials. It's already there, but
we'll put it back up. Yeah.
Brian Hines (50:48):
I don't know.
Jackman Ochs (50:49):
Bump it.
Brian Hines (50:50):
We we
Jackman Ochs (50:50):
are the For
posterity.
Brian Hines (50:51):
The only people who
have managed to get a word with
him about who Jay De Niro is.
Jackman Ochs (50:58):
This side of, of
of, the, Mason Dixon at least, I
guess. Alright. I think, he'she's been around for a long
time, man. We we talked to himon this feed. We know he has an
Brian Hines (51:09):
expensive history.
Jackman Ochs (51:10):
That's true. But
this version of Jay De Niro, I
think we probably are the firstpeople to
Brian Hines (51:14):
crack that egg. He
he told us we were. So yes. I
I'm pleased to say that, we arethe ones who
Jackman Ochs (51:21):
It was you. It's
not even a we. It's a you thing.
TyniBrian (51:22):
Well, I wasn't gonna
take all the credit.
Brian Hines (51:24):
Time. We were we
were there and we worked
together as a team.
Jackman Ochs (51:26):
The mean gen thing
mean gen thing is you. That's
you. Tony Evans takes somevictory here
Brian Hines (51:33):
against Ragnar. As
was kind of expected, although,
good effort by Ragnar this week.Main? Yes. The main event.
Jackman Ochs (51:42):
Ragnar. Let's get
some protein shakes for that
boy.
Brian Hines (51:49):
Just a thought.
We'll get some some steaks.
Jackman Ochs (51:51):
Just a thought.
Yeah. Some steaks.
Brian Hines (51:52):
Some lean protein.
Jackman Ochs (51:53):
Just something.
Brian Hines (51:53):
Just something.
Sure.
Jackman Ochs (51:54):
Just a little
something. Maybe stop maybe stop
by the gas station next time youcome to the day of the stream.
The, the, the
Brian Hines (52:02):
Main event of hour
2. The main event of the night.
The, main event of hour 2.Features, a newly it's good to
see the fallen again. We've seenZDP every week for probably the
past 2 months.
Jackman Ochs (52:16):
Well, and it's
hard, man. People love ZDP They
do. In the Davis arena.
Brian Hines (52:20):
I saw one of the
the best things I've seen in the
last couple weeks at Davis arenais there's
Jackman Ochs (52:25):
a little boy who's
been Comes and dressed like ZDP.
Brian Hines (52:28):
He he's been
ringside, and he's had just a
little sign with red lettersthat says ZDP. And whenever ZDP
comes out,
TyniBrian (52:36):
this kid just loses
his marbles. And I absolutely I
love watching
Brian Hines (52:40):
him watch ZDP
almost as much as I love
watching ZDP.
Jackman Ochs (52:44):
I like that
whenever he's walking around, he
still got, lost little kid faceeverywhere, but he's dressed
like a zombie. So he just lookslike like a lost zombie
everywhere he goes. Like, youknow that face that little kids
make Yeah. Every like, becauseeverything's just so new and
loud and, like, different forthem. They just don't know
what's going on, but he'sdressed like he's, like, dressed
in bloody clothes, and he's justlike, uh-huh.
Brian Hines (53:07):
Yeah. That's my
favorite part.
TyniBrian (53:08):
I stood I stood in
line by in front of him and his
dad.
Jackman Ochs (53:11):
It is. He's
adorable, man. He's an adorable
little kid.
TyniBrian (53:13):
Great little family.
Shout out to them. I hear I
think dad listens. So shout outto you.
Jackman Ochs (53:17):
Shout out to you,
man. Shout out to you. Come by
the studio. Please do. Yeah.
Seriously. Bring bring many ZDP.
TyniBrian (53:23):
Yes. Lowercase is
ZDP. ZDP,
Jackman Ochs (53:28):
The Fallen
Nephilim Yes. At this point.
Brian Hines (53:32):
And they are in
action against Tusks and Chains,
t w 3 and Simone Donovan.
Jackman Ochs (53:38):
Simone Simone
d'Alavino. Simone d'Alavino.
Dimon Salavino. Right? Is theNephilim.
Brian Hines (53:45):
You Easy for you to
say.
Jackman Ochs (53:46):
Don't know.
Confuse me. Raven Simone
d'Alevino. No. It's DimonSalavino.
TyniBrian (53:52):
It's Dimon Salavino.
Jackman Ochs (53:53):
It's Dimon
Salavino, head of the crime
family. The the the fallen crimefamily. He faced it. The fallen
face doesn't change. Well,listen.
Come on. We're almost done. We're almost done here. Come on,
Mike. Yeah.
Let's finish. Come on. Come on.
TyniBrian (54:09):
Let's finish strong
here. It's like
Jackman Ochs (54:10):
Come on,
Brian Hines (54:11):
guys. Don't push
through. Come on. Alright. So it
was a a fantastic match betweenboth teams.
Jackman Ochs (54:15):
I don't want no
tests and chains. Really?
Brian Hines (54:19):
Sorry. I had to get
that one in there. I do.
TyniBrian (54:21):
They had to win
there.
Jackman Ochs (54:22):
That's a that's a
Jack Harlow reference. Ah.
That's for the younger crowd. Weskew we skew very badly with the
younger crowd. So I'm trying tothrow be be relevant for them.
I don't want no Tuss and Chains.Just cut that. Sample it.
Brian Hines (54:36):
I wish I could cut
that from my brain, but I am I'm
unable to do that.
Jackman Ochs (54:41):
Doesn't change. I
don't think and and we said we
said this pretty much everymatch here. We said this pretty
much every match here. It's theThursday before Saturday pay per
view. Not a lot is gonna change, whether it be our perceptions
or, like, standing or, like, youknow, titles.
Not a lot's gonna change rightbefore the pay per view. But I
say I say that when I'm in that,Tustin chains take a win over
(55:04):
The Fallen, but one big thingdid change here on the way out
of the broadcast.
Brian Hines (55:11):
It's most certainly
did. After their win over The
Fallen, what to my wondering eyeshould appear, but human thumb,
Adam Revolver, showing up with atag team title belt, addressing
tusks and chains, and talkingabout how, the Overmen are,
constantly expanding their reachand circling back around to what
(55:34):
we talked about at the top ofthe hour.
Jackman Ochs (55:35):
At the very, very
top of the show here.
Brian Hines (55:38):
The new Overman is
Beau, and I'm not going to
repeat Adam
Jackman Ochs (55:44):
Law, that's
Brian Hines (55:44):
dorky joke. That
was awful. I I I thought it in
my head and I thought, oh, god.Don't say it. If you do it,
you're a tool.
And And guess what? You're atool.
Jackman Ochs (55:52):
And guess what? It
is the exact joke. Overman, they
just got a new member namedBeau. It is the exact joke
you're thinking of, and AdmiralRevolver said it on
international television. He wasproud of it, guys.
He was really proud of it, andthat's egregious. He should have
been stripped of the title rightthere. Should have been stripped
of the title for that joke.
TyniBrian (56:11):
Editorially, I would
just like to throw in the joke
was Boverman.
Jackman Ochs (56:15):
No. No. No. No.
No.
No. No. Now can I cut that? Nowcan I cut that?
Brian Hines (56:19):
So I have told some
horrible jokes in my day
Jackman Ochs (56:24):
On this podcast.
Brian Hines (56:25):
Plenty on this
podcast.
TyniBrian (56:26):
This evening.
Jackman Ochs (56:27):
This Yeah.
Brian Hines (56:28):
Yeah. Thanks to
pant load, Chet. Anyway, this
joke by human thumb atomrevolver Bad. Terrible. Stinker.
Charles Barkley would say that'sjust terrible, man. Terrible.
Jackman Ochs (56:40):
It is Charles
Barkley season.
Brian Hines (56:42):
Yeah. It is. And as
a
Jackman Ochs (56:43):
a proud Kentucky
fan, I wonder, how many times
we'll see Charles Barkley. Willit be one week? Will it be one
day? Will it be 8 weeks? Whoknows?
Welcome to March, Kentucky fans.
Brian Hines (56:56):
Yeah. Let's Well,
TyniBrian (57:00):
now that you've
depressed me
Brian Hines (57:02):
Yep. What else we
got here?
TyniBrian (57:05):
Oh, yeah. The final
read.
Jackman Ochs (57:06):
Well, it just it
really just depends. Are they
gonna pass read the ball? Itreally just oh, no. You mean on
this?
Brian Hines (57:11):
Yeah. Let's not the
word this is yeah.
Jackman Ochs (57:13):
Okay. I'm sorry.
TyniBrian (57:14):
Rest lane. Sorry.
Rest
Brian Hines (57:15):
lane. Sorry. So the
very, very, very, very end of
the night, Luke Curtis, certified Luke Curtis, who walks
in looking like a $1,000,000comes to the ring.
Jackman Ochs (57:27):
Luke Curtis does
always look great.
Brian Hines (57:29):
I mean he he always
does but Thursday
Jackman Ochs (57:32):
He had
Brian Hines (57:32):
those sparkle robes
aren't a $1,000,000? Yeah. He he
He
TyniBrian (57:35):
comes in
Brian Hines (57:35):
suited with a
black, turtleneck.
Jackman Ochs (57:41):
You up look.
TyniBrian (57:42):
Yeah. Yeah.
Brian Hines (57:43):
And somebody Yeah.
As somebody who lived through
the early nineties when that washow you were gonna dress to
leave the house if you weregonna try to, you know, catch a
lady, he, you know, did the, thethrowback look very well. I
mean, crushed it as always.
TyniBrian (57:59):
Very early rock,
really. Yeah.
Jackman Ochs (58:02):
He he got
Brian Hines (58:02):
the Yeah. The color
me bad. I wanna say something.
Jackman Ochs (58:05):
Bad. Yeah. Yeah.
That was I couldn't think of
what the name. Yeah.
Brian Hines (58:07):
No. Definitely.
Yeah. He he was
Jackman Ochs (58:07):
looking No. No.
No. Out there, man. He was
looking good.
Brian Hines (58:18):
19 90 2, 91. 91? I
hey. I was there. I was 15.
I was
Jackman Ochs (58:25):
twinkle in my
daddy's eye. You were negative
7. My dad was dressing likethat. My dad had a mullet. My
dad's haircut kinda looked likeLuke Curtis' haircut back then
and he had a gold chain.
Brian Hines (58:35):
Well, they both
have a better haircuts than e c
3 in this promo video becausethis promo video is whack just
like all the rest of them.
Jackman Ochs (58:43):
Yeah. We kind of
get to this promo video. Luke
Curtis
Brian Hines (58:45):
I love how Luke
Curtis rips on him.
Jackman Ochs (58:47):
Luke Curtis comes
out. Jack Varn comes out. Tony
Gunn comes out. They all say,where's e c 3? Where is e c 3?
He's on TikTok as always.Welcome to
TyniBrian (58:55):
Doesn't even know how
to rotate his camera. No. And
which which Luke mentions.
Brian Hines (58:59):
Yes. That's
TyniBrian (59:00):
what I was referring
to. Tapped on on his
cinematographers. That
Brian Hines (59:03):
was fantastic.
TyniBrian (59:04):
It made me
Brian Hines (59:05):
And he he's right.
Jackman Ochs (59:06):
To be fair, Luke
Luke is probably the youngest
person in this segment by 10years? 10 years, 12 years at
least. Yeah. So, of course, he'sgot it. He's gotta be the one
to, dress like 1992 and commenton TikTok angles.
You know? That's that's whatthat's what his generation does
canonically, I guess. This thisthis this is setting us up, this
(59:30):
e c three, TikTok promo, Luke,Jack Von, Tony in the ring. This
is setting us up for Thursday.Their tag team match.
They're like
Brian Hines (59:41):
How did they get
stipulating this? Tag team
smorgasbord match.
TyniBrian (59:44):
Double jeopardy.
Brian Hines (59:45):
Double jeopardy.
Sure. Okay. So if somebody beats
Jack Vaughn, if,
Jackman Ochs (59:52):
if Jack Vaughn
gets pinned
Brian Hines (59:54):
shotgun Tony Gunn
or certified Luke Curtis pin
Jack Vaughn, they get his title, the AW heavyweight title. Right.
If either of them pins e c 3,they get The national. The
national title. Right.
And hopefully, you know, relievehim of feeling like he needs to
(01:00:16):
do any sort of videos for anypurpose that we will see at
