Another inspiring and insightful series is about to end, and we will be closing this one with how servant leadership principles can be used in secular jobs to show Christ-like traits. It is important to live the example of someone that people would feel comfortable coming to about their spiritual struggles. Join Chris and John as they discuss this further in this latest episode of The Recovery Lifestyle.

RECOVERY MOMENTS

JOHN: Adopting servant-based leadership in the secular world

"This concept of the secular world, adopting servant-based leadership and having these characteristics of valuing people, being humble, being a good listener, instilling trust, caring about the people who work who was leading. I mean, I look at those traits, and I think, who does that sound like? It sounds like Christ to me.”

JOHN: The struggle of being a Christian in a leadership role in a secular job

"I struggle with the whole concept of being a Christian in a leadership role in a secular job. I struggle with the part about, is this really even God's purpose for me, because it's so not Christian. and how I can bring my faith to work without forcing it on others, especially being in a leadership role. So it's really hard and where I try to land on it is just being authentic, being approachable. Being someone who cares about others, and who tries to love at work, and I know that's not a term that we often use at work.”
