Speaker 1 (00:37):
Anchors up sells that fool got on the supercass I
didn't take up.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
You're all right, Jared, how are you doing today?

Speaker 1 (00:44):
You're good, doing good. It's gonna be one of those
episodes apparently, But you know what, it's a new tradition.
It's good tradition. Didn't you know I'm opening up the
beer alive that I just stumble on my words.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I haven't even taken a sip yet. I haven't even
taken a sip yet.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
I have not. That's that's just that's just how I be.
That's just how I do, and that's how I be.
And that's uh, Kyle, let's just let's let's talk about
the footbagin.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
The theres our next Scarlett and Grade overview. Here forty
two to nine is the finalist score. Here where to
begin with this? Here the beginning here. You look at
the score fourteen to three at halftime, and really wasn't
fretting over, oh my gosh, like we may like Ruckers

(01:45):
giving State a tough time, or like the victory isn't
sure and all that, like never it was never come
across my mind at least now that anything like that.
It was just more of just expectations that we had,
expectations that we had for Ohio State from what we've

(02:07):
seen throughout the year, and just seeing how how they
poorly it was executed, especially in that first half. The
first half was not wasn't all that great in terms
of what we were hoping to see. Now, I think
things would be a little bit better if we didn't
have the uh, the fumble at the one yard line.

(02:29):
The fumble yard line twenty one to three makes it
look a little bit better than fourteen to three, yes,
and but yeah, looking at looking at here, it's it. Honestly,
isn't all that terrible. I haven't broken down in our
show notes here by each quarter how each team is done,

(02:52):
and really, honestly, it wasn't all that all that terrible. Honestly,
the first order they were run heavy, second quarter they
were pass heavy, the third quarter they were they were
pretty much split. And then fourth quarter they were run
heavy again too. So they pretty much could be like

(03:13):
they pretty much chose their drive like you know, this drive,
let's see, let's let's let's go ahead and let's go
and run this one and all right, we need to
score points, so let's uh, let's start passing the ball
and in Au State went and scored on that drive
easily on that in the second quarter there, So yeah,

(03:38):
what's your overview thoughts?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Did anyone get hurt? Well, one player got hurt. The
High State is luckily very deep at the quarterback position.
I don't think that's I have no idea what senior
styles is. You know, we're and we're not gonna hear like.
Everyone just needs to really get used to that. Everyone
just really needs to get used to the fact that

(04:03):
Ryan Day doesn't talk about injuries. You cannot like it,
and that's fine. You cannot like it, But you or
I or anyone else not liking it's not gonna change
the reality of it. He believes it's you know, strategically detrimental,

(04:25):
and I think he's right to not talk about injuries.
So he's not going to talk about injuries anymore than
he is required to by rules, which if this were
the NFL, he'd have to be more transparent than he is.
But it's not, so he isn't. Sorry. Yeah, again, you

(04:49):
can not like it. I cannot like it. We can
all not like it. But that's what he's gonna do.
And if it gives Ohio State. Listen, if you're the
Michigan coaching staff, wouldn't you love to know for certain
if Carneal Tate and Jeremiah Smith were playing. Wouldn't you
love to know that? I know I'd love to know it.

(05:09):
And I'm not even trying to scheme against Ohio State
this week.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Well, and that's that's.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
I guess my point. The point is, My point is
is that Ohio State did what I wanted them to
do this game. They rested some guys who needed rested.
They won the game, and they minimized where they minimized
wear and tear, and you had you did have one injury,

(05:37):
which is obviously one more than we wanted. But I'll
tell you right now, and I you know, I don't
have like I can't prove this, but I have very
little doubt in my mind if this last weekend was
the Michigan game, Tait and Smith would have played. I

(06:00):
have very little doubt in my mind. That's not me
knowing anything that that's just what I believe. So I
guess what I'm saying is is that now what percent
let me ask you this question, what percentage of the

(06:21):
coaching hours take all the coaches who are doing game
prep this week, all right, take all of their hours.
Put those hours in a bucket. What percentage of that
bucket do you think they dedicated to Rutgers? And what
percentage of that bucket do you think they dedicated to Michigan.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Man, it's I'm gonna get a lot of a lot
of lashback, uh huh. But honestly, I'm thinking fifty to fifty.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I think that's I think that's probably fair. I think
that's a fair assessment. Point being is that they weren't
totally focused on Rutgers because they didn't have to be.
So if Ohio State didn't, it wasn't like fully executing. Well,
maybe their practices weren't the best. Hey, there may have
been practice time assigned to Michigan too. As far as

(07:15):
we know.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
News flash, shared Hones State scored forty two points.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Right in this game, and they did it while not
looking great.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, and that's the crazy thing, Like I think this
was like in our grading here, we talked yep, we
should get to that right now, but we talk about execution,
and to me, I think this was the least executed
performance of the year. So hopefully this is Yeah, get

(07:49):
it out of their system. Get it out of their system,
and we focus this way to hate week.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Last week was pretty under executed as well, but again
they knew they had a pair of you know, I'm
just gonna say it. I don't know. I'm not going
to try and find a way a nice way to
say this, So I'm just gonna say it. They've played
two conference bottom dwellers these past two weeks, and with

(08:17):
Michigan on the horizon, they took advantage of that. They
sat some players who maybe didn't necessarily need to be sat,
that they sat some players early who didn't necessarily need
to be sat so early, and they probably weren't putting
their full game planning efforts into those teams, and they

(08:39):
came out with very very vanilla offenses and defenses, very
very yes, so let's let's go. And when they weren't vanilla,
they were just kind of stupid. Throw them on tape
place like gimmicky stupid. Hey, let's let let's put this

(08:59):
on tape. Some miss can practice it has to waste
time practicing it against that type of place.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Sure, all right, game plan game plan for Ohio State
offense against Rutgers here. Honestly, I was fine with it.
I didn't really have too much negative to say, Like
like you said, just Jared just said, had to be
very vanilla, didn't have to do anything extraordinary, didn't have

(09:27):
to didn't have to have saying throw the ball thirty
times or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
He was.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
This was Juliansane's worst performance of the year, and it
still I have to look percentage wise, I think it
might be he was thirteen for nineteen, two touchdowns, one
hundred and fifty seven yards, sixty eight percent completion. I

(09:58):
think that might be his his worst, But I'd have
to see if I could quickly.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
As it turns out, having a very vanilla game plan
and not having the two best wide receivers in the
country can kind of slow down a red shirt freshman quarterback.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Actually, no, Texas was worse. He attempted. He tied for
the least amount of completions, which was also the Texas game.
Threw one hundred and twenty six yards against Texas, and
he attempted one more throw which would ended up being incomplete.
So thirteen for twenty versus this game thirteen for nineteen, okay,

(10:44):
with one with one extra touchdown game plan.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
I'll just I'll just give him a B. It was
it was, it was gonna say, but it was whatever.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I didn't mind it. I'd say a minus. I really didn't.
I really yeah mind it.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
No.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I mean I forgive them for it being vanilla because
I understand what they're doing, but the game plan just
wasn't much. I understand why it wasn't much, but it
wasn't much.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
In game coaching, wait, they didn't really have to make
any changes offensively. They just needed, honestly to execute better.
So in game coaching there, oh, I'll say like a
B plus. There wasn't really really anything they needed to change,
so they just keep doing what they were doing and

(11:34):
hopefully they catch the ball. No more drops, dumb penalties
and all that. So yeah, B plus for me.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, I'll say it be basically for the same reasons
they game for be on the game plan. Sure again,
I like that they were just I like the link
got some time. I almost wanted link play more. I
know people were confused by it. Yeah, that's the idea.
You were supposed to be confused by it. Michigan is

(12:06):
supposed to be confused by it. The last two weeks
has been Ryan Day screwing with Michigan, And if you,
as a fan feels a little bit screwed with two,
just know there's a greater purpose behind it.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Sure, I'm trying to see if I can find more
in depth data for this next one here, which we
go and going for quarterbacks here, I guess at thirteen
for nineteen sixty eight percent completion, which is fine, like

(12:43):
could be could have been better. Obviously, eighty percent completion
for the year on average is the average there, and
he was well below that. He he was down. He
was down his two starting why receivers had a really
lay in on those tight ends and it was in

(13:07):
there too with some with some with some throws to
him as well here. So he did what he needed
to do. I think some of the throws he wish
he got back, but I think overall he was pretty
accurate for for the most part there. He just I
think he just didn't have two studs, two studs that

(13:27):
can just catch anything that goes their way, right.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
I think there was one or two throws that left
me a little bit like, hey, what are you doing
from an accuracy standpoint, And well one from an accuracy standpoint,
and one from a decision maybe one or two from
a decision making standpoint, and then you know, we have

(13:51):
to grade Link here as well. Now, this ended up
not mattering because of the roughing the passer, yep, but
he uh missed. I mean essentially he went for a
touchdown on fourth and short when he had h one
of the tight ends I forget who uh short for

(14:13):
an easy first down, and he went for the touchdown,
which was completely ill advised. He had the first down
available to him and he didn't throw it. I think
it was Thurman who was down low. It was just
it was bad decision making. It was I think a
guy who's not in too much trying to get the
most of his opportunity and it you know, but he

(14:35):
got bailed out because he got hit. So I think
link Link also had that uh inaccurate throw to to Innis.
It was kind of late and inaccurate and kind of
got in us banged up a little bit. Uh. The
second weekend I've seen in this holding holding his shoulder.
There's obviously something happening there. Uh. He still played it

(14:56):
in the rest of that game, though, But yeah, all
things considered, I'll go like a like a probably like
a bee.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, I was thinking of bee as well.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, if if they had this type of performance and
had their and had you know, not their top two
receivers out, I would have graded more harshly.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
But they did sure all right, uh run blocking at times.
At times I liked what I saw. At other times
the first drive offensive line had like had had like
no push. Yeah, the first drive absolutely, I loved loved
the first drive. I loved everything about that first drive
other than the fumble right at the end there, but

(15:42):
loved what I saw there. And then there were other
times where the offensive line just didn't get any kind
of pushing though. But again, I it's it's hard for
me to figure out what kind of grade to really
give them because of how vinnill uh this offense was
by at the same time.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
But they just weren't blocked.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
They should they should have been able to execute because
of how vanilla.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
It was too, right, Like, they just weren't blocking well period.
Like the scheme doesn't matter. I mean it does. I
shouldn't say that, but they were just missing blocks against
they I mean that his that is historic. Well, they're

(16:30):
the worst run defense in college football this year. Then
they delivered like a real bad performance. I'm gonna go
like a D minus.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Yeah, I was. I wasn't going to harsh that much,
just because there were times when they were getting first
really good they were getting some really good blocks, and
then a little bit and then another the first drive,
and then a little bit.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
In the fourth. But the fourth you know, no one
was really trying at that point.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
In the fourth quarter, well, I mean the second quarter,
they only had uh where was it here? Yeah, the
second quarter, yeah, Harsham, Yeah, you can give them an
f that second quarter. Like they had six rushing yards
in that second quarter. No, no excuse, no excuse for that.
Six attempts for six yards, averaging one yard or yeah,

(17:22):
one yard per carry. That's not cut that's not going
to cut it. But as the game went along there
those numbers greatly and greatly and.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Also but they also had only five point six in
the third quarter, which was still like competitive football. And
I get that five point six is not a bad
average except for the fact that you're playing the worst
run defense in the country.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
And I think that's what they were averaging too.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
I think I believe that, No, it was it was
it was much worse than five point six. I think
it was like at or near or over seven. It
should be in our show notes from from last week.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Oh dang, you're right, yeah, yeah, six point eight.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Yeah, there shouldn't have been a You should have exceeded
six point eight in every three of the four quarters
they finished.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
They finished the game six point seven.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Right, But a lot of that has to do with
the fact that they ran twelve per in the fourth
quarter off of basically a pretty big link run and
a pretty big people's run that you know.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Really and that's where they and that's where they averaged
twelve yards of pop right in that fourth quarter. Yeah, yeah,
I was gonna I was going to say a see
pass there, pass blocking And there was a couple of
plays where saying had to get out of the pocket there.

(19:00):
I mean, hats hats off to oh wow, I'm drawing
a blank O'Neill Eric O'Neill on on the Rutgers defense,
he he was getting a lot of hurries, a lot
of pressures on on saying though, like but honestly, he
was the only he was the only defensive player really

(19:22):
making making big plays, uh for Rutgers. But other than that.
I thought they were fine. Could they have been better, sure, absolutely,
But I thought they were fine. I'll say, I say
I was saying an no sacks given.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yeah, no sacks, I think is probably the most important thing. Yeah,
I'm fine with an A minus.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Running Yeah, uh, running backs. I really like these are
running backs here. Bow's just shows how how great, how
great of a runner he is.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Isaiah is getting better every week. And by the way,
peoples who so as people included were we're kind of,
you know, just calling him kind of a disappointment or
maybe I don't think we use the word bust, but
I know a lot of other people were we but
we for sure at least called him a disappointment. And

(20:19):
we were very early calling for Bo and Isaiah West
to be getting more carries, so you could read between
the lines on what we thought there. But he uh
has has settled in and is you know, looking really
good the past couple of weeks, despite the bad run blocking,
I thought the running backs looked pretty good. So I

(20:41):
think I'll go with just an A. And I think
I'm going to include links big run in this too.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yep, I'll say an A as well. That's that's what
I was thinking, uh receiving this was you want to
try and.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
The offense or do you want to take the ad
break now?

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Yeah, let's go and take the outbreak real quick. Then okay,
good call? All right.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
The sweepcast dot com is your link for anything and
everything seep cast related. Uh check out our merch store
merch dot the sweep caast dot com. A lot of
new designs there. Uh, so be sure if you want
to check those out and pick up a pick up
a shirt, head on over to merch dot the sweep

(21:24):
caast dot com. Not just shirts too, but there's other
there's other type.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Of coffee mugs, including travel mugs, uh, stickers, magnets, we have.
We have a bunch of like who we call Chuck E. Chestnut,
who is a totally original design and you no lawyer
will retell me otherwise. We have a Chucky Chestnut designs
that are essentially just emojis that look like a you know,

(21:53):
a chestnut. And uh, you know you don't necessarily want
a big emoji in your shirt, but I tell you what.
He looks fantastic on a coffee mug, and he looks
fantastic on a travel mug and is a sticker and
is a magnet. Yeah, lots of It's not as Kyle said,
it's not just T shirts.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
You can check that again merch dot to the sweepcast
dot com or you can find that in all of
your other links at the sloopcast dot com. Let's take
that ebreak and we'll be right.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
Back receiving, all right, receiving.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
So I just off the if I can split between
tight ends and wide receivers, tight ends tight end tight
ends get an A plus. I think the tight ends
get like an A plus and the receivers here the
receivers have let me make sure I get them right. Yep.
Four catches for thirty three yards. Yes, not not not

(23:02):
not a great showing, not a great showing again. Yes, yes,
I understand that it's it's all the bat it's the
backups plus Ennis in there.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
But it's but four consitions, not just the four ca Okay,
but like not even just the backups because I'm telling
you right now, and I don't know because it was
senior Day or if there were other issues going on
with say like Milon Graham or some of the Quincy Porter,

(23:31):
some of the other receivers who we thought were pretty
high on the depth chart. Uh. But basically the entire time,
David Adolph was the one in there who if you
don't know who that is, he's a walk on, he's
a senior so and it was senior day. So you know,

(23:53):
maybe that's why they wanted to They wanted the walk
on receiver to go get like and if that's the case,
that tells you how seriously they were taking this football
game quite frankly, where they were just like, Eh, let
David Adolf play senior Day.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
So I'm going to average I'm going to average it
up with the tight ends.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Max Claire having a career career game, uh as a Buckeye,
seven receptions, one hundred and five yards and a touchdown there,
I'll say see, I'll say see, I'm I'm averaging out
because of Max Clayer gets an A plus and yeah,

(24:34):
everybody else gets a lower.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Grade, but I'll say a C plus all right.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Drives in conversions Jared Ohiose only had six third downs
attempts in this game.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
That's when they converted three of.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Three of them, three for six, the field goal and
then two punts.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
The important stat there is that they only had to
try six times.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Yeah. Yeah, so you could probably just take that there.
So I was saying, hey, like fifty good. Maybe it
should have been higher because it's Rutgers.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Sure, but again, the key there is that they only
had to try for a third down six times.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Yeah, they were averaging seven point two yards per play.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yeah. Explosiveness.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Oh, I actually did not look at this. Here.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Let's see, People's had a four nine yard rush. Isay
West had a twenty eight yard rush, Lincoln had a
twenty two yard rush.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
There were a total of three big pass plays. I'm
trying to see it. Yeah, and all of them were
by all of them were to tight ends. And then
obviously it had eleven rushes that ended up going ten
or more yards. Eleven of them.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, I don't know if ten or yeah, I mean,
I guess it depends upon Again, this is a really
bad defense. I would have liked to have seen more explosiveness.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
On the passing side, I think on the past side,
rushing side.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
On the rushing side, to eleven of.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Them eleven for ten or more yards, that's that's really good.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
If the bar is ten or more than sure.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
I was saying a minus. Honestly, I would say a minus.
I would like to have seen bigger plays on the
receiving end there, but I'll say it b all right.
All right with that, we'll move to the defense. So
we'll move a little quick here, gameplay, game plan on
the defensive side. Overall, they led up one hundred and

(26:57):
forty seven yards of total offense. Fantastic. That's that's great.
One hundred and forty seven yards. I'm just confirming Rutgers
better overall in terms of their total rankings as a team.
They're ranked forty seventh in terms of yards per game.

(27:18):
They're averaging over four hundred yards and they let up
and they only had one hundred and forty seven in
this game.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Here.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Yeah, yeah, shout out to the defense. That's that's awesome.
Three points by the starters there, another outstanding performance by
the by the defense.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
I'll say, hey, yeah, I'm good with an A in game.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Coaching didn't really need to change anything, so I'm not
gonna I'm not gonna take away any points there. So
I'll say in a as.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Well, Yeah, I think in a game, I'll say this
and maybe I'll throw a minus song and just emphasize
what I'm saying, because it doesn't really matter in a
game like this or also in a game like last
week's game, I would like to see instead of doing

(28:09):
a whole line change at the end of the game
where you put in all the backups, I would like
to see them just sort of mix in the backups
through the course of the game. Sure that that's it's
a minor thing. Hey, you know, just just rotate more
heavily instead of doing a full line change and having

(28:32):
the backups give up a touchdown. Again, but that's a
pretty minor that's a pretty minor thing.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Yeah, all right. Tackling, I didn't see any issues with tackling, Like.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
I think I remember one and there was in in
in styles Seniors' defense, like he got hurt, Like he
didn't get hurt on that So he got hurt on
that play. So I mean, it's not you know, I'm
not I'm not going to hold that against him.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
So I aul still say a. I still say a
like this is oh, keep being a broken record. This
is a very well coached tackling team. Yeah, I agree, Uh,
run stop. They did fantastic again, Like they're rushing attack
on all that isn't isn't all that great there?

Speaker 1 (29:27):
But I really like Antoine Raymond. I think Raymond's a
pretty decent little back.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Hold him to but he was averaging five year Yeah,
he's averaging five yards of carry before this game. Yeah,
and average three and a half, which is I believe
what they were averaging as a team. Yeah, three point
seven as a team and a state held Rutgers to
what is that yards a carry? Yeah, I can't complain. Ay,

(29:57):
they only even up one only one run that went
for ten or more yards?

Speaker 1 (30:03):
I agree?

Speaker 2 (30:06):
And was that was that?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I believe against in the I believe that was against
the backups.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
It was the Yeah, that was early in the that
was early in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, was that the touchdown run? Fifteen yards for a touchdown?

Speaker 2 (30:20):
No?

Speaker 4 (30:20):
No, okay, all right?

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Pass rush four sacks four sacks for this team here
made made the quarterback very uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
So I'm including a strip sacked by Kate and Curry,
which why didn't they should have? They should have?

Speaker 2 (30:47):
What's going on? Big ten? Like, what what's what? What's
what's the deal with that? Why did you not? Why
did you not review that?

Speaker 1 (30:55):
I don't know a a for a pass rush, say,
and a plus for Kate and Curry.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Pass coverage. Same thing. Like they they didn't let anything
they what was there? They let up one play, one
passing play of fifteen or more yards. That's that's outstanding.
That is outstanding. That's a Yeah, that's an A plus.
That's an A plus to me.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Yeah, Cale McManus, who's not a bad quarterback, only throws
for eighty one yards and a fifty completion percentage.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Yeah. Uh.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
And they have decent receivers too.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
They averaged two hundred and sixty six yards passing.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah, and they you know, they they held their receivers
in check. Yep, held duff in check and Sheffield and check.
And yeah, no, I'm a I'm actually gonna go and
throw a plus on this one too.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yep, yep I did too. Yeah, a plus. And impact
plays on the defense.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Four sacks, the aforementioned strip sack. There there was an
interception that was I think unjustly or no, it was
that that one was justified, wasn't It was that pretty
bad hands to the face. Am I remembering that correctly?

Speaker 3 (32:28):
It was?

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Yeah? Okay, So the the the interception was taken off
the board. Perhaps in a justified way, but no turnovers
for the Ohio State defense or excuse me, no the
strip sack. Yeah, but they no interceptions for the Ohio

(32:49):
State defense. Yeah, four sacks did stop?

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Ruts did stop? Right, I guess I guess that stops
for the next one. But I mean it's kind of
an impact play in a way when you don't let
you don't let your opponent convert on fourth down, which
you do, consider it as a turnover on downs.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah, no, I think we can count that as an
impact play.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
So I'll say an a, yeah, it is good.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
I'm good with.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
And stops Rutgers five for fourteen.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Actually, hold on, do we have TFLs.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Curry with two TfL styles with a TIF of a
TfL down, there's one and a half uh yep to
two other tackle for losses outside of the four sacks.
I'm gonna throw a plus on.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Okay, fine, five for fourteen on third downs including fourth downs,
five for fourteen, so about thirty three percent roughly. Yeah,
that's that's that's a that's a that's a good stat there.
So I'll say in a first stops.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Yeah, I agree, he's good.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Yep, And don't break. I'll I'll say an a as well.
I'm going straight down the line with days.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (34:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Longest play was a fifteen yard run. No seventeen yard reception, yep.
But no plays over twenty yards.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
No, there was one play, one passing play that went
for twenty two yards.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Oh, I was looking at the average, not the long
my bad.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Yeah, yep. And that was in the beginning of the
fourth court. That was that in the fourth yeah, start
of the fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
There that was. There was a fifteen yard there was
a fifteen yard run and a twenty two yard pass,
both of them against the backups. Yes, yep, I'm a
different quarter plus. I'm giving them the plus.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
All right, that's fine. All right, We'll take an ad
break and we will finish with the overalls here. Theeslcasts
dot com again is your go to link anything everything

Ohio music, We've got hours and hours for you to
listen to. You can find that in much much more
over at the sloop caast dot com. Let's take the break,
Jared and be right back.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
All right.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Overall in game coaching, I'll say, as I say a
minus if.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
I'm looking at my averages here with the teams, there
could be better on the offense, uh, defense, defense was
just outstanding again, so i'll say a minus.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
I'll say, be everything was kind of vanilla. I understand
why it was vanilla. It's fine, but.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Sure, motivation I'm going to say c I'll say motivation effort,
I'm going to say, see here, Sure, I think there was.
Coaches and players are kind of looking ahead in the
weak and rightfully, so it took him a little bit
to kind of like, all right, guys, let's let's let's
score some more points here in the second half there.

(36:57):
But I'll I'll say, cee.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
It really just kind of felt like a replay last
week's game, didn't it.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Sure execution I'm I'm I'm gonna say D plus for
execution mainly, and that's mainly downgraded from the from the
offense side.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Yeah, I think I'll go with the I like a
deep plus. I think that that works well, all right?

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Uh discipline, Ohio State, as I'm quickly going back here. Yeah,
five penalties in this game. Five penalties for sixty yards.
There was on the two on the offense side. There
was a holding and a and the unsportsman like conduct
by by Daniels, which is dumb, dumb play. Uh, two

(37:52):
pass interference calls and another in a personal foul. Oh yeah,
that personal foul was the hands to the face one right.

Speaker 6 (38:04):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
One of the past interference calls was bad.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
It was I can't remember which one it was, but yeah,
they were. It was on Matthews on like a short.
But both past interferences were on Matthews.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
One of them was bad. I'm trying to remember what
the other one was. Yeah, I'm not remembering the other
one if I'm being honest.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Yeah, uh so ill because because yeah, I'll say b
I thought the one was if the the other the
other one was hands to the hands to the face,
which is like Okay, Oops, yeah, you got your hands
up too far there. I'm I'm not gonna take too

(38:47):
many points off of that, but I'll say b.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
I'm gonna be minus. Yeah, I'll give you a chair.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
All right, Special teams here, What what was the House
State doing on that kick return?

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Putting something stupid on tape? Literally literally, they were putting
something stupid on tape for Michigan to have to game
plan against, for Ohio States to never do again.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Yeah, I didn't like. Yeah, there was uneven it was
uneven ful. Other than that one play, it's.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Basically the playoffs from here on out. You gotta beat Michigan.
Is probably you have to beat Michigan to get into
the Big Ten Championship game, and maybe definitely is there
a way for Ohio State to lose next week and
still get into the Big Ten Championship There is? We don't.
We don't.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
We don't go into that another time.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
We don't need to get into it.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
But you're basically got right in front of me.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
It's basically the playoffs from here on out.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
You gotta beat Michigan. You got a better presumably Indiana,
then you're in the actual playoffs, like they're gooping around,
they're having some fun. They're doing a throwback on a kickoff.
Who cares?

Speaker 2 (40:14):
It was wreckers, I'll say it, b I'm saying see, okay, turnovers.
It was even one one for both teams here, uh
Haistin ended up in terms of this on the stats here,
And yes it does take in consideration of the kickoff

(40:37):
return one. But Hajisse had three fumbles in the in
the game. There only lost one of them, which was
the one in the red zone there, which which sucked.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
But but but eventually it was about because Caden Curry
got them a fumble that put them back into the
red zone.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Which should have been a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
Okay, but we can call that. We can call that
one a wash. The fumble on the kickoff, who cares?
They got it back? Who cares? What was the third fumble?

Speaker 4 (41:11):
Was that?

Speaker 1 (41:11):
Lincoln?

Speaker 2 (41:16):
I is it?

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Am I remembering that correctly?

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Let's see see if I can find it real quick here.
I don't know if I can.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I think so, because they had two in the in
the No, it would have been the two in the
third quarter. Anyway, it doesn't matter. They didn't lose them.
It doesn't matter turnovers kind of evened out in the end.
I'll say it be.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Yeah, I was kind of thinking of a I was
kind of thinking of a Bee as well. I'm trying
to look here. I don't see. No, it wasn't Lincoln
with the with the fumble. I I forget who who
it was. Either way, I'm it's fine, It's okay, all right.

(42:16):
So offense as overall here, I'll say I'm gonna say
I'll say, I say C plus. I know, I know that.
It's like, oh my gosh, Kyle, they scored forty two points, Like, like,
how spoiled are you as an Ohio State fan? Sure, sure,
I'm a I'm a spoiled Ohio State fan. But you

(42:37):
know what I got expectations for for the scene, for
this team here, and from what I seen, uh they
I expected. I expected a better executed offense here.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
So C plus sure, I'll go with a B plus.
I like they only punted twice. Your your freshman fumbled.
It'll happen. It'll be fine. I know. Like there are

(43:12):
some Ohio State fans getting a little panicky about the
performances the past couple of weeks. Don't high State. It's
been in mac mode for the past two weeks. They
have not been giving it, they're all and that's fine.
They've been resting players and that's fine. They've not been
putting they they've been game planned. Their game planning efforts

(43:33):
have been split between their opponents and Michigan for the
past two weeks. And that's fine.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Uh that that third fumble was from next Claire.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Past Declaire for twelve yards and then it was fumbled
and people and people always recovered it. Yep, corrected, all right. Defense, overall,
this was an outstanding defensive performance. Here, you held You
held Rutgers the sixty six yards rushing eighty one yards, passing,

(44:14):
your your your over your first team defense only led
up three points here one point nine yards on the
ground per rush. Here, I'm gonna say a plus like
this is this is a this is an outstanding defensive effort.
Here a plus.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
I'm good at that.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
Man.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
The team overall forty two to nine. Again the final score,
uh for the last game of the season at the Horseshoe.
Most likely there is a there is an odd chance
that they probably not it probably it probably not, but
there is an outside chance that they could. But okay,

(44:55):
we'll just say we'll just say for last game.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Well, we're just not going to talk about that.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
So overall here, I'll say B. It's it's a it
was what we expected overall. When we see the final
score of forty two to nine, I think I had like,
what was it like forty two to three or or
something like that. I can't remember exactly what what I said,
but I think it was it's something around around that,

(45:24):
around that score, because I think I had in my
sloop picks here, I had forty five points for the
UH for the game total here, and if if Rutgers
didn't get that last touchdown, I would have I would
have had it.

Speaker 1 (45:44):
Sorry, Jared, I'm sorry. What what what did you say?
What your final grade was?

Speaker 2 (45:52):
B plus?

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Okay, we'll go with the name minus.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
All right, some of the similar scores.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Yeah, all right, that is our report card. All right, awesome.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
It is officially hate week now, Jared.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
It is. That's why we have our little UH macomb,
little poopy guy.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
H I love, I love, I love the screen on
the screen right now, Jared, we do not have to
mark off any letters. There's zero letters. On here.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
Zero offending letters.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
There's one, there's one.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Is there on it's on your poop emoji? Yeah, yeah,
that one doesn't count.

Speaker 3 (46:50):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
Now I will say we will have to make an
adjustment for know you're h n x c n x uh. Uh.
And I want to say, if you look at this
little guy right here that I have dancing on the screen,
if you're watching the YouTube video, Uh, this guy you

(47:13):
can get. Let's say you have a let's say you
have an unfortunate an unfortunate relation ship with someone who
has an unfortunate fandom. This little guy's in the team
store or in the merch store. And you know you
sometimes you got to give a present to a Michigan
fan support the Loop cast bye by the little poop emoji? Uh?

(47:40):
That in the the SpongeBob guys for sale too. Until
Nintendo stops me?

Speaker 2 (47:47):
Which Nickelodeon?

Speaker 1 (47:50):
Why the hell would I say Nintendo until Nickelodeon stops me? Yeah,
I'm just getting getting my childhood brands mixed up? All right?

Speaker 4 (48:05):
Kyle?

Speaker 1 (48:05):
And do you have anything in Kyle's corner?

Speaker 2 (48:11):
Really? Honestly you have some soccer news? Oh yeah, I
mean they went, Yeah, the Women's the Ootly women's soccer
team with two big wins. Two big wins here. Uh,
they are now in the I'm just I'm just trying
to verify real quick here. I think they're in the

(48:34):
quarter finals. They are. No, yeah, they're in the quarterfinals.
They're in the Elite eight right now.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
It's including like a huge upset number one, was it
Notre Dame?

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Notre Dame? Yeah? Yeah, and they they just beat Baylor,
who was ranked fifth. Then they now play they now
play number three Florida State. So that's luck to the
women buck Eye soccer team.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
Speaking of Florida State, Florida State has announced that they
are sticking by Mike Norvel thoughts on.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
That there's too many vacancies right now. Like, I don't
blame Florida State.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
It's a very good point.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
I don't blame Florida State to do that unless they have,
unless they felt very confident of taking one of those coaches.
They got a payday, and yeah, if they wanted to
offer them.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
I just and if we're just taking a moment to
talk about coaching carousel stuff, Lane Kiffen and Lsu are
meant for each other, and I'm just gonna leave it
at that. Yep. I think they're meant for each other,
and I think it's cute they found each other.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
Like likelihood that's going to happen, Jared, I'll put it at,
isn't it announced out? Well, they said that there's an
offer out there, but not nothing's like official. But I'm
going to put that like eighty five to fifteen in
favor of Lane Lane good to LSU.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
Listen the announcement that I was at flast Friday where
the I believe it was the ad at Ole miss
basically put out announcement saying, hey, we know there's a
lot of stuff out there. We'll give you an official
statement after the egg bowl and it's like, well it's over.

(50:45):
Then you don't put out an announcement saying there'll be
a later announcement, especially with National Signing Day looming, unless
he's leaving, Because if you was, you put out an
announcement saying he's staying. If he's leaving, you put out

(51:06):
an announcement saying a la la la la la egg
bowl La la la la la, which is essentially what
they did.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Good addition, I got nothing else.

Speaker 1 (51:15):
That's it. That's it, all right, that's the end. That's
the end of today's show. So with all that being said,
oh wait a minute, music, tonight's ending music. We brought
to you by two cow garage to calgarage. So I
thought that being said, like the girds there were too
