A year ago, I stopped.

I stopped doing one of the things I loved the most.

I stopped because I was overwhelmed.
I stopped because I was chronically burnt out.
I stopped because I started doubting my purpose.

It felt like a wise and mature decision at the time.
Maybe it was

But what I slowly began to realize was that I stopped doing the thing that, when it came to my work, was one of the most life-giving.

Now, it's back.

But better.

For ten years, I’ve loved talking about the PIES because it changed my life.
I was depressed. Stuck. Anxious. Overworked.
My marriage was in shambles.
I had no friends.
I felt lost.

The PIES method allowed me to focus on becoming my best physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually and focusing on what I could control.

Me.

And it changed my focus. It changed my energy. It changed me.

And over the past year, as I've finished my PhD (freaking finally!) I've realized that the PIES is even more powerful than I originally thought.

We're going to be talking about confidence, clarity, influence, and how what you do impacts the way you show up to those around you...

...and we're going to be doing it together with a new podcast, new title, and new content.

Same PIES.
Revamped.
Reimagined.
Redefined.

Can't wait to go along this journey with you.

Stay strong,
Dr. Kimberly

I'm Dr. Kimberly Beam Holmes. After a decade transforming marriages at Marriage Helper, I've realized that the greatest tragedy isn't a failed relationship; it's the person who stays stuck and never experiences the fullness of all God intended.

The Way You Show Up is for the high-achiever who is tired of "fine."

We're dismantling the average life to build an exceptional one—using the science of the PIES: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual health.

If you want to save your marriage, go to Marriage Helper. If you want to master yourself and lead your legacy, stay here.

New episodes every Tuesday.

Don't just exist. Show up.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
For the past 14 years, I have been focused on
helping people learn how to fixtheir marriages.
And one of the things that hasbeen so evident in the work that
I have done with Marriage Helperis the importance of the pies.
Being able to focus on how youcan control yourself physically,

(00:20):
intellectually, emotionally, andspiritually.
And it's been such a pivotalpart of the work that we have
done at Marriage Helper fordecades.
I, however, took a specialfascination with the pies.
Honestly, about seven years agoat this point.
I love the entire framework ofthinking about how to work on

(00:42):
yourself to become the best youcan be in these four areas.
And so while the piesmethodology originated at
Marriage Helper and at the workthat my dad, Dr.
Joe Beam, has done for so manyyears, the Pies framework is
something that I just grabbed ahold of seven years ago and
began to run with.

(01:02):
In fact, in 2020 is when Ilaunched my original podcast
called It Starts WithAttraction, which was a passion
project for me and something Ihad dreamed of doing for a
couple of years before it everlaunched.
I had the honor of speaking withsome of the most amazing guests
on that show.

(01:23):
Honestly, I learned more thanmaybe you and my viewers who
listened at that time did.
I got to interview Dr.
John Gottman, a leader inmarriage and family therapy.
I got to interview JeffersonFisher, who many of you already
now know as a communicationexpert and guru.
I got to speak with Dr.

(01:44):
Helen Fisher, who was the one ofthe originators of the term
limerence.
She was also a huge part ofmatch.com, and she has done so
many other things in therelationship space.
And I could just continue to goon.
When I talked to Dr.
Daniel Z.
Lieberman, who was the authorand is the author of the book
The Molecule of More, when Ispoke with Dallas Jenkins, the

(02:06):
creator of The Chosen.
Honestly, it's amazing theamount of people and the caliber
of wisdom that I that I had thehonor of interviewing and being
able to speak to.
But my favorite part of all ofit has been sharing those
conversations with you.
I have been learning all ofthese things right alongside

(02:28):
you.
And my favorite thing iscontinuing to learn how I can
become all that God has calledme to be while sharing that with
you so that you can implementthe tactics, strategies, tools,
thought processes into your ownlife.
Now, a year ago, I ended upcompletely pausing my podcast

(02:49):
because honestly, things gotcrazy in life and at work at
Marriage Helper.
Now, I'm not stepping back frommy role at Marriage Helper.
I'm still CEO.
And at the same time, I amexcited to launch my new podcast
and new venture, all about thepies redefined.
A new way of approaching this, thinking and learning and

(03:13):
understanding that we actuallyhave things that we can do
called inputs for each area ofour pies that lead to outputs,
which is the way we show up inthe world.
And so I am launching thepodcast again, rebranded,
revamped, and reimagined.

(03:33):
So as of February 24th, we willbe starting The Way You Show Up,
a new podcast hosted by yourstruly, speaking with some of the
most amazing people that Icurrently know and that I am
going to get to meet along theway.
But my favorite part is beingable to introduce them to you.
I'm going to be diving into allof the things of the inputs and

(03:57):
outputs of how we show up.
Because really, when we thinkabout attraction, it's not about
becoming looking a certain wayor getting someone else to be
attracted to us on a romanticlevel.
It's about having betterpresence, better influence, and
better confidence in the way weshow up in all areas of our

(04:19):
lives.
And so that's what this show isgoing to be about.
We're going to drop new episodesevery Tuesday.
So be sure that you follow uswherever you want to.
Whether you're a podcast friendlike I am, I love listening to
podcasts more than YouTube.
Follow on Apple so that you'llbe sure to get notified every

(04:41):
time a new episode drops.
Or you can follow on Spotify, onAudible, wherever you listen to
your podcasts.
Or if you're a YouTube geek likemy husband is, then be sure that
you're subscribed to KimberlyBeam Holmes on YouTube so that
you will get brand newnotifications every week when we
drop the shows there.
It's going to be the same showon podcast and on YouTube.

(05:01):
So whichever one you want.
But on YouTube, we're also goingto be creating and releasing
clips and fun things in thecommunity and different things
like that.
As well, you'll be able to seebehind the scenes footage and
more about me and my life andhow I'm implementing and
continuing to learn these thingsby following me on Instagram,
Kimberly Beam Holmes.
So you can go and find me there.

(05:23):
And oh, by the way, in case youdidn't know, I also in the past
five years and since I evenended my show, the It Starts
with Attraction show, finallygot my PhD.
So that's super exciting.
So you'll be able to seeKimberly Beam Holmes PhD on all
those platforms as well.
That's me.

(05:43):
Super exciting.
Even though I have a PhD, Ihonestly just feel like I am
more aware of how little I knownow than ever before.
And I'm continuing to want tosubmit myself to be a lifelong
student of how I can continue toshow up even better for my
husband, for my kids, for myteammates, for my friends, and

(06:07):
for other people around theworld that hopefully I can
influence in a positive way.
Because at the end of the day, Ithink that's what we all want.
How can we show up in a way thatends up with the world being
better than when we first foundit?
I'm super excited for you tojoin me on this journey, and I

(06:27):
will see you next Tuesday.
Until then, stay strong.
