Veterans Day Weather Briefing...Lake effect Snows

Hi, this is Midi Ralder Steve Pelletier, and I am
the weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
It is Veterans Day Tuesday.
The winds are strong out of thenorthwest.
Hope you caught the informationon the sinking of the Edmund
Fitzgerald in Lake Superior.
50-year anniversary was on the10th.
You can just go back one day touh November 10th, our report
then, and we have a descriptionfrom Jeff Morrison.

So uh listen in there.
It's still available, available.
All our uh reports have beenavailable for the last five
years.
We've been doing this since2020.
And we're going to continue togo as we head into the end of
2025 and begin the new year of2026 in just a couple of months.
Uh, weather-wise, though, we'reinto that northwesterly flow.
There was like effects, snowshowers, and squalls that we

talked about uh during the uhdissertation on the sinking and
the history of that EdmundFitzgerald disaster.
And uh, of course, we have allthose strong uh areas of snow to
the east sides of Lake Huron,Lake Superior, and even Lake
Michigan, Lake Ontario, and LakeErie, the same thing.
So a lot of snow showers acrossthe finger lakes of New York,

from western New York, Buffalo,all the way east Rochester, and
out towards Utica, Rome, andnorthward up to Messina.
Also, some snow showers andsqualls up around Erie and
Cleveland.
And uh they'll be coming to anend probably tomorrow, but
today's still the possibility ofmore snow showers.
And there may even be a snowflurry or two in the New York
and metropolitan area uh alittle bit later on today.

As a matter of fact, uh we'regoing to have this fair cold
weather trend for one day.
Big area high pressure pushesthrough, and then we'll get into
some dry but seasonable weather.
That means highs in the upper40s, lower 50s, and nighttime
lows back to about 30 to 35, uhcloser to 40 in the city.
And that will be occurringduring the daytime on Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday of thisweek.

(01:50):
Looks basically dry after thisblustery today.
Today we're going to have somewind gusts up to 40 miles per
hour.
And that in itself could causesome problems for travelers in
the Northeast.
And it looks like those strongwest by northwest winds will
make the controllers reallystick to the books and getting
everybody into Nork, LaGuardia,and JFK, but it will cause

between one and two hour delaysbecause of those winds,
especially midday and during theafternoon.
Generally dry weather inAtlanta.
Could be some snow showersacross sections of the
Appalachians in West Virginia,eastern Tennessee, Kentucky, and
western North and SouthCarolina.
However, it does look dry downto Florida, dry in Houston,
Dallas, Fort Worth, Chicago.

(02:30):
The snow showers are done there.
The rain showers continue acrossPortland and Seattle.
Another strong evolution lowpressure system will be arriving
in the Pacific Northwest overthe next 24 to 36 hours.
