Check baby, check baby, whatdude, three, I gets so loud
whenever we do that. It's likethe one thing that gets you really,
I know, I didn't get apretty excited about it, dude. I
love it. Hi, Courtney,Hey, Stephanie, how's it going.

(00:28):
It's good, it's good. It'sgood. Good. You know it's not
good. That is very true, guys, it sucks. Actually, let
me give you a little bit ofsome info on what's going on here.
So we're doing our second true crimeepisode, right, that's true. Yeah,
We're like, hey, we hadnineteen Crimes wine last time, and

(00:50):
we had the snoop one that wasgood. It was delicious. We'll sweet
it was great, we'll try itwas perfect. Yes, So Dustin gets
another nineteen crimes of course, becausewhy wouldn't he write, And he's like,
hey, Martha Stewart's on this one. Were like, that sounds fucking
great. Yes, and my thoughtprocesses. She cooks all the goddamn time.
Yeah, she makes great things. It's gotta be good. Visually.

(01:15):
I'm sure edible food that she makesis probably delicious. She's crafty, I
mean, yeah, all around, high hopes. Right, of course,
it's a chardonnay. So I thinkyou and I off the bat were like,
okay, not a Pinot Greage, but fine, okay, we'll give
it a world, we'll try it. The last one was great, perfect,
okay, and I mean it's awhite wine. Still will like it
for the most time. Well,we thought, so. We opened it,

(01:37):
poured it into our little glassies, and then the smell gets you.
First your romaup, the aroma.Yes, it stings your nostrils a bit.
You know. I wish we wouldhave read the bottle and what would
the aromas and the flavors that itwas supposed to have because it was not
it couldn't have been whatever it waswritten. Well basically it also and pure

(01:59):
Martha Stewart style. It could duelas some type of front or cleaner if
we wanted to swell through. Maybeshe's a high class lady. Yeah,
maybe she likes real expensive wines andmaybe we're just not used to expensive wine.
Maybe it's her house arrest hooch,You're probably right, let's just go
with that. Do you think shemade this in prison? I mean that's

(02:22):
what I'm thinking. Yeah, Imean it's her, it's her arrested hooch
straight up in the back of atoilet. You But I think that's how
you make it, isn't it.Aren't you like making the in the tank
of a toilet. I don't know. I've never been to party when you
were in jail and you had tomake some wine for everybody, How did
you make it? I did not. So basically, the aroma get shit

(02:44):
first, like okay, fine, and then you try it. It gets
you in the back jaw. Andthe thing is you make a face you
can't control off the bat. It'slike you're you're like the sides of your
lips and go all the way toyour ears sort of yeah, okay,
and you're like fingers tense, Yeah, your face is tense. And then
you swallow the wine and you're like, great, I can move on.

(03:07):
He said. It lingers, lingers, like in the back of your mouth,
just like burning your taste, alittle hangy thing. It's like your
tonsils that's on it. That what'sit called? Oh it's got a different
name, doesn't it whatever. I'msorry, where does it go? It's
yelling back there for help, butit's fine. And then we're like,

(03:30):
well, we've done canned wine.Do anything is fine. I guess right.
I feel like we like canned wine? Is that sad? Here's the
thing. I don't feel like themore we're drinking this, we're like whoo
oh yeah can wine, We're likefuck it and it's fine. Yeah this
one, we're still like it's likeyou have to just keep drinking, which
is not a problem in general, but we're gonna talk a lot um.

(03:51):
So the more that you you kindof like, oh did you get It's
been a minute since I sipped it, so yeah, it's uh, it's
you got to keep drinking it oryou'll get hitting hitting it, get the
head. Can we talk about thecolor of it too? I just noticed
how yellow it is. It isso yellow. It's like the wine.
Don't say it what. I thoughtyou were gonna say something that's like this

(04:12):
yellow and I was gonna be like, no, I'm not going about to
drink it. Say well, Iwas just gonna say that. I feel
like this wine is very dehydrated.Yah, it's got super yellow peak.
Okay, that's what I was expected. That's what I was learning for.
It is well, I guess ourp oh, I just built it.
Oh shoot, I think we gota toweldown. Wow, how do we

(04:33):
have a towel down? It helpswith sound, but it also when I'm
more sloppy, bitches, it helpsclean up a little bit. Okay,
well this will be the color repeelater without dehydrating. Get from this wine.
That's true. Okay, Well, before we hop into our true crime
episode, should we chat about acouple of things? Of course, obs

(05:00):

the stupidity of So join our Patreonand check out the rest of these episodes.
Should we hop in? I thinkwe should? Courtney, which Florida

(06:55):
episode did we watch? Or didyou watch this week? Oh? Wow?
Um, the series that you're talkingabout, it's called The Truth is
Stranger than Florida, which is fantastic. It's pretty fantastic. Also, the
Truth must be really fucking weird thenif it's stranger than Florida though, yeah,
because Florida is fucked anyways. Sothis is season one, which is
only one season, Season one, episode six, and it's the Mystery of

(07:18):
Anna Maria Island. Oh so youdon't even know what that is? Do
you know where Anna Maria Island is? Really? Yeah? Where is it?
It's south of Tampa ish. Ohfine, from the golf Oh okay,
like central Florida Ish. Yeah, that's nice area, not that far
south. Okay, I don't know. I know. I'm pretty sure that

(07:39):
nobody else does either. So it'syou're like sure, sure girl, Right,
I have lived in Florida my entirelife. Different areas, Um,
there's just a lot of Florida tohandle and didn't know about. You know,
a lot of different climates. Yeah. I mean it's all hot and
sweaty during the summer, sure, but in some winters a better than others.
We've got some swamps, lots ofswamp. We got some gulfs,

(08:01):
we got some Atlantics. Anyways,so we're Anne Marie Island. Okay.
So the narrator tells us first offthat Florida is everyone's tropical fantasies. He
started off strong. Wow, fantasiesis a strong word. I would say,
yeah. I mean some people havefantasies of murdering people. So I

(08:22):
guess it fits. Rhy mean itdoes. It's quite it's a very broad
term. I meant, out ofall the states, I guess Florida would
be people's tropical fantasies. Right,Maybe I can see that out of the
unit. Don't like the term fantasyin there A tropical destination, Okay.
I didn't like any of this,That's why I'm quoting it. So it

(08:43):
goes on to say that it haswhite sandy beaches caressed by the warm gulf
breezes. I hate this already.I know this is uncomfortable. This narrator
is not great. He used theterm caressed and fantasy the same sentence,
and I hate him. He needsto get some is what it comes down
to. He wants somebody to caresshis fantasy. He can't help himself.

(09:05):
So now we meet a couple oftalking heads, Nancy and Cindy. They're
kind of through the entire episode, but we don't really see them a whole
lot. Okay, which is finebecause whatever, so classic Nancy, classic
Nancy. So they say how fantasticthe climate is, and that, you
know, as close as to oldFlorida as you can get, like they're
really amping. I understand why they'reexplaining to us about what the fuck Florida

(09:30):
is. Who does it know whatFlorida is? I don't know. I
guess I don't know. I guesspeople have not been to Florida. Everybody
catations to Florida at least once intheir life, right, or it thinks?
So are we talking Disney, becausethat's not Florida. And even if
not, people who live in thiscountry have seen a map and they know
that Florida is the dick shaped stateof this country. A right, No,

(09:52):
I agree. One Okay, yeah, okay. The narrator starts telling
us a story of Sabina Muscle Bueller, holy name. So Sabina was from
Germany. Okay, so we haveSabina, which really fucked me up because
when I was looking at the subtitlesubtitles, yeah, close captioning, the

(10:13):
close captioning, her name looks likeSabine, like if she was in the
United States. It's interesting as theybe. I an e fuck me at
the entire time. So I'm gonnatry to keep on track. And her
name is Sabina music Sabine. Idid, okay, yeah, and I
shouldn't have, but I did.Okay, we should be fine. It's
fine. At least we'll know whoyou're talking about now, right. So
we hear about her and her husband, his name is Tom, who lived

(10:35):
there. They love to have friendsover. They always have family come visit
because while they're in the fantasy ofthe United States, everyone's tropical fantasy,
that's right. So they run thisquaint little place called Hayley's Motel, and
Sabina runs the office, pays thebills as a marketing and stuff like that.
And Tom is what they call theworkhorse, so he goes and he

(10:56):
fixes everything whatever. Okay, SoSabina is very outgoing. They really am
her up to say kind of howhow much personality she has. She didn't
always do they always say the pillarof the commune. Huh. So if
there was a party, she wasalways the one hosting. She loved to
socialize, while Tom was obviously morelaid back. Because I think we could

(11:16):
have pegged that one. So Sabinawas from Germany and people said that she
is an extremely colorful person quote unquote, Why what is wrong with these people?
Why that mean? I don't know, is that like she's got a
vibrant personality. I know what thatmeans. I think so that people noticed
her like she was very walk intoa room, I guess, okay,
you should people gravitated toward her,be okay, Okay. So in two

(11:39):
thousand and four, things got verychallenging on the island because of the housing
crisis, which obviously affected travel peoplegoing on vacations, and because of this,
obviously the hotel was suffering their lossesas well. Sure, so they
began fighting about money, of course, and apparently they borrowed a lot of
money against the equity of the motel, and the motel was hanging on by
thread at this point in well,as are marriage because obviously they were like

(12:01):
fighting and whatever. Yeah, sothey were eventually just coexisting and living on
separate sides at the property because theywere still running it. They were still
like partners and a business smooth littlebit a little bit. So I'm not
entirely sure how they were able tohire a handymion, but they did.
Tom did. That's what Tom did. Um. And when Sabine met him,

(12:24):
there was a spark. Oh Iknow, Okay, he was younger,
He had a five pack. Sabina, you know, had butterflies every
time she was around him. Describershanging a five pack they did. Oh
boy, I know the descriptions. And this is ridiculous. Those women look
for younger and five that's it.What about a six pack? There?
Five just to five? Um,I know what. I didn't notice that

(12:48):
until you just said that. That'snot a number. It's weird. There
should be two at least, andeven number two, it's just one long
one. It's like a hot dog. It's like a hot dog muscle.
Okay, So he was just supernice to her. So of course I
think that helped it a little bit. Sure, and she's not getting attention

(13:09):
from her husband, right, Sure. So he had showed up that day,
they had a little sparky thing happening, but Bill didn't show up the
next day. Oh Tom, andSabina realized that he didn't come back to
work because Bill was in prison.Escalated real quick. Okay. So he
had been arrested for setting his girlfriend'shouse on fire, not Sabina, our
previous girlfriend. She had apparently shunnedhim for their conversation I don't know,

(13:33):
shunned his I know, and inretaliation he set the house on fire while
she was in the house. Ohshit, Yeah, does she die?
We don't know? Okay, Sowe don't. I don't think so,
because I feel like it would havebeen because he was just he was in
prison, but it was just forarson, okay, not for murder.

(13:54):
It So, regardless of this arsoncharge, the sparks she felt the first
time that they met, where becausehe's a piroue I do. I am
a kind of a pirate myself.I don't like set arson on anything,
but I do like to start likea fire like I cam't fire type,
sure, Okay, I do lovethat. A little fun fact about me.

(14:15):
She likes to feel the sparks too. Oh I do, It's so
true. So anyway, so thespark that she had felt the first time
because it was a brief meeting, but it kind of took over her,
and she felt really really bad forhim for him being in prison, and
wanted to help him. Oh boy, Apparently she was a helper. She
liked to like help everybody that wasaround her. Okay, okay, so

(14:37):
she thought she could help turn hislife around. But Tom's like, this
guy's gonna stay away, like whenhe gets out of prison, he's not
coming back here. What can youdo while he's in prison too? Like
how do you help him? Then? Well, they become pen pals and
chail. Of course they don't.They send letters back and forth. But
apparently Tom had been throwing the lettersaway like for a while, and Sabine

(14:58):
a guy one and she's like, how many of these letters have you?
Because it was like a like it'slike the notebook a bridge but not but
not. One of the things thatSabina does for Bill while he is in
prison is vouched for him so thathe can be released for week in furloughs,
so she picks him up on theweekends so they can have some time
together. The narrator says that, quote unquote in a short time that they

(15:24):
spent together, and Maria Island works, it's magic. I hate this narrator.
I don't know what kind of magicit's working between a prisoner and somebody
that worked there in their tropical fantasyjoy, it's working a lot of magic.
Okay. It is the Dick state. It is the Dick state.
So Sabina was really attracted to him, and he was super kind to her,

(15:48):
very considered her for feelings and alsopotentially using her right manipulator. I
think it's what we say he is, Yeah, right, I would think
so. But even though she seemedto be falling head over heels for Bill,
she and Tom maintained like their strainedmarriage for the sake of the hotel.
So they're still working alongside of eachother, and she's still banging Bill.

(16:08):
Okay, okay. So everything changedwhen Bill was released from prison in
October two thousand and eight, soBeina dropped the charade of being in a
happy marriage with Tom and spend allof her time with Bill now. So
Tom wasn't happy with their relationship. He said Bill wasn't good enough for her
because he was a convicted felon. He was also dumb. I don't feel

(16:30):
like I don't think that, theysaid then the episode, but it was
basically implied. Yeah, definitely impliedheavily and heavily implied. Well, Sobina
doesn't really care, so she lovesBill and they end up moving in together
the same month that he was releasedfrom prison. Like it was a quick

(16:52):
turnaround, and they haven't gotten adivorced or anything. No, no,
no, they're still married, butshe's living with her boyfriend now. Cool.
Okay, So Bill seemed to betrying to turn his life around.
You know when they were together,he apparently was a carpenter bright trade,
and he had this shop on theisland to help people fix things. So
he seemed to be kind of likecool fixing himself. Yeah, so people

(17:14):
around the island began to talk aboutthis new relationship though, well a little
island. There was a little island. Yeah, so no one understood why
she chose to move in with aman who had a felony record and serve
time. And then we find outthe Sabina has other passions other than Bill
oh boy, so one of themis politics. Who would have thought you
were gonna know? Okay, notat all. So um they say that

(17:37):
she poured a lot of time andenergy into the Barack Obama's two thousand and
eight campaign and that she was planninga huge election party night on the island.
Okay, for the whole you know, for the whole island. So
now the whole island seemed to bethere for the party, but noticeably Sabina
did not show up to her ownparty party. What a bad host.
Although people didn't think it was abig deal at the time because they like,

(18:00):
people were kind of coming in andout, so they thought that maybe
Sabina wasn't there the people that gotthere early or yeah, okay. So
now we are in Bradenton, Florida, November six, two thousand and eight,
which is the day after the electionelection day. So the Bradenton cops,
which if you don't know, isthe closest mainland town to Inner Maury

(18:22):
Island. Okay, just a perspective, they noticed a suspicious car in the
area known for drugs and prostitution. So so we started this weird it kind
of jumps around a little bit.How of things like that not gets stopped,
like if you know of a placeor a car or something that's like
known for these type of things,Like why does it keep happening? I
don't know, Okay, I meanI guess they can't. They can't stop

(18:45):
everything, right, I don't know. I don't know how. I don't
know how it works. I don'tknow either. I don't know. So
this car that they think is reallysuspicious speeds away way too fast, and
the cops start chasing him, soit's a short car chase. Then the
car actually pulls over, the guyjumps out, and he starts running,
which is weird because there in there enactment it was like like in a

(19:07):
parking lot, which it seemed weirdanyway, Sure, okay, So they
end up running him down and askhim what his name is, and it's
Robert Corona. So he has arecord of auto theft and he really can't
get the cops a good reason whyhe was driving such a nice car,
which I thought was very not niceto say, because I mean, but
if it's just his cool car, like what if he actually paid for it?

(19:29):
Rude? So He says that hehad been out partying all night with
the owner of the car, andthen they sent him on a drug run.
But then when they looked up thecar, the owner of the car
it was Sabina's. Oh interesting.Interesting. So that's kind of how we're
that's where we're at right now.And also, this guy, Robert Corona,
probably did not need to say theysent him on a drug run.

(19:51):
He could have just said that hejust left, well, I beer run.
Well, I could have said anythingelse, that he didn't have the
drugs on him. Listen, hewas in a drug area, so of
course he was on a ron. They would think that it wasn't if he
was just going to go like pickup cigarettes, then be like fuck no,
They're like he's picking up prostitute.What's happening, I don't know,
okay, whatever. So now there'sa lot of questions like why where is

(20:11):
she? Why isn't she in hercar? Where is she whatever? Why
how'd you get her car? Sure? Exactly, So the cops go back
to the motel, Hayley's motel, and ask Tom if he's seen Sabina.
Of course he's the next make senseher husband, Yes, he confirms that
the car that they found is hers, but he has no idea where she's
at. He hasn't seen her ina couple of days, so he has

(20:32):
to explain that it's his wife, but they don't live together. They live
at the hotel, but separate sidesor nope, that she lives with her
boyfriend in an apartment and didn't callthe police because he didn't know she was
missing. Yeah, so he's stillkind of on their radar because we're just
husband always named. Yeah. SoTom sends them over to the apartment where
Sabina and Bill live and maybe theycan find her. There they go,

(20:56):
they find Bill, who's smoking acigarette outside, which this could have just
been in the re enactment, buthe was like chilling on the front porch
when they like rolled up. Ithought it was weird, but whatever.
So they asked about Sabina and hesays that they've gotten to fight a couple
days before, like on election night, the night of the party, but
he hasn't seen her since. Suspicious, right, very weird. Just don't

(21:18):
say anything, I guess, no, No, don't, like, you
haven't seen your girlfriend that you seeevery single day And it was with you.
Yeah, literally takes care of you. Okay, okay, So he
says that they start they started fightingthat night, the night that she left
about him smoking, so she hadgotten pissed and he wouldn't put out the
cigarette. I guess it was Idon't, okay. So she ended up

(21:41):
having enough she stormed out, andthen they're like, okay, well,
if that's your story, then we'vegot to like, we'll jot it down
and we're going to leave it seemslike bullshit a little bit, so the
island rumor mill starts going in overdrive. At this point of course, everyone
has their own speculation about what hashappened to Sabina, and meanwhile, the
police search for Sabina's car again tolook for drugs or weapons or anything that

(22:03):
has been left in their fingerprints, but they end up finding a piece of
the back cushion of the seat hasbeen cut out, like it's a convertible
car. It's got like bucket seatsand then like a one long back seat
and a piece of it again inthe re enactment, I don't know how
much the noticeable chunk it's like, you know, like it's yeah, it's
like a four inch piece of cushion. Weird. It's like it's it's big

(22:29):
weird. I don't know how youwould not notice that when you stopped.
Okay, Okay, it doesn't matter, m okay. So they did notice
that also in regards to the cushionthat had been cut up, that there
was some blood around it, okay, and they assumed it was Sabina's blood.
I mean, yes, it's hercar. You would think that she's

(22:52):
missing. Sure, Okay. Sonow the investigators are like, okay,
so we've got three suspects at thispoint. Is it Corona? Is a
Bill? Is a tom? So? Then, unexpectedly, Robert contacts the
police and says that he has somethingimportant to tell them about Sabina. He
had panicked when he caught Win thatthere was blood found in the car and

(23:14):
there was an evidence of a possiblemurder, and he wanted to basically clear
his name. Okay. So hejust came out of nowhere and it's like,
I don't know anything about this.I know it looks bad, but
yeah, yeah. So he's changinghis story now and he says that he
just stole a car and that wasit. So he says that he came
across Sabina's car parked unlocked with thekeys inside at the back of a CD

(23:36):
braid into bar called the Gator Lounge. But I love everything about that Florida
yep. And he just took advantageof the situation. What was the first
story? He said, he wenton a drug run. He was with
the owner of the car and theysent him on a drug run. Interesting
stories changing, he typically it soundslike he might be the might be the
guy the stories. Sure, Sothe sigators take a look at the story,

(24:00):
They look at all the other evidencethat they've collected, take the fingerprints,
DNA and all of that. Sothey're not like saying, Okay,
well we're gonna believe you now,we're just gonna take your noted. So
we find out that on November sixteen, two thousand and eight, there was
actually a fire at Hayley's motel. Now, so we're timeline. Okay,
so we're now what like a monthNo, no, no, it's before

(24:23):
was it November six yes, Sothe fire consumed most of the motel or
the hotel motel, Hotel, Motel, Holiday Hotel. So the fire was
very suspicious, but it was neverproven to be arson or anything like that.
More, we have an arson onour hand. So the rumors flew
around the island, wondering if Sabina'sbody was in there, if there was

(24:45):
like important documents. Was somebody burned? Like oh interesting, yes, So,
oh my god, let me tellyou a small little towel, little
island. They'll create something. Hellyeah, Well, whether it's right or
wrong, they're gonna say it anyways. So the fire started in the older
part of the the hotel, andthe investigators know that it's of significance because
Tom had caught Bill and Sabina havingsex in one of those rooms. I

(25:08):
don't know if that would consider tobe significant in my eyes, Like,
why would that be significant? Right? I don't think it matters. I
don't think why doesn't matter which roomyou're having sex in. I don't know
the fact that they're having sex isa bigger than one room they're having sex
in. Right, So I guesshe got They were thinking that he got
pissed and like lit the other endof the rage. Why would you do
that? That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense. So

(25:29):
the investigators start focusing on Bill now, so because of his previous arson felony
in on Tom because the hotel themotel was covered by insurance, but they
can't find a hundred percent connection oneither one of them. They're still there
though. Okay, So Robert wasruled out because he was a small town
crook and not a murderer, andthat's well, they counted him out.

(25:51):
So all I know is what they'retelling me in this episode. I feel
like there has to be more thatyou're just not telling me, Like the
man's story has changed in like sucha short period of time, and we're
just gonna be like, Okay, well, you haven't murdered anybody that we
know of, so you're not involvedas far as we know time building anybody
either, Right, they haven't foundher body, they don't know anything,
Okay, Okay, So at thispoint, Sabina's body has never been found,

(26:11):
so it's hard to determine what evenhappened to her, and the investigation
starts to stall. But soon there'sa new clue when the police get a
phone call and maybe nothing has happenedto her at all, because one of
her friends calls and says that shehas seems to beIN at the Sara Sota
Bradenton International Airport. Okay, okay, girlfriend on the run, I know.

(26:33):
So she said that she was goingto be this person that saw her.
She was going to be late forher fly. So she didn't tell
anybody that she saw her until afteryear she got back from her trip,
which was like a week or solater. What. I guess she didn't
give a shit. I guess shedidn't know that anything was wrong. I
don't know. I don't know.What a weird situation. So now everybody
is just thinking that this could belike one big misunderstanding and that she was

(26:56):
just trying to get away started anew life because her and Tom were having
issues. That was kind of theblood about the missing piece in the car.
It doesn't make any sense, Idon't know, Okay. So to
verify the story, the detectives goto the airport and scour the videotapes and
records to make sure that she actuallygot on the plane. Sure, there's
no record, there's nothing. She'snot on camera, she's not on a
plane. She never checked in,she wasn't not at the airport. Okay,

(27:19):
okay. So now the investigators areback to square one. Okay,
are we gonna go question that friendor anything or I don't know, go
put her in prison for just creatingsomething false leads. Okay, So they
go back to Bill and Tom again. So Tom is having a hard time
making ends meet and keeping the Motelaflow, so he tries to declare Sabine

(27:41):
illegally dead, so the insurance cashand her life insurance policy, things like
that. So the detective who hadinterviewed Tom several times for many hours,
feels that Tom had nothing to dowith her disappearance, like he's like,
he's just trying to make things, you know, trying to keep Yeah.
So he took a step further thoughin fair five that he had an alibi
the night that Sabina went missing, and he was actually at the Obama party

(28:04):
and multiple people saw on there. So okay, he has got an alibi.
So now the focus is on Bill. So we've rerolled out Robert,
we rolled out Tom, and nowwe're on Bill. Yeah. Fuck that
friend though, I guess, Iguess. So we're just flying right through
it. So detectives are having ahard time keeping track of him because since
Sabina had provided most of his kneesand when they were together, he ended

(28:27):
up having to vacate the apartment hehad shared with her and was like bouncing
around town. Didn't have a fixedaddress, so they were having a hard
time like keeping tracking. Oh youdon't say, yeah, go figure.
So since he was no longer inthe apartment, detectives could get access to
the apartment now because he wasn't inthere anymore. Sure, so while they
were looking around, they found whatlooked like blood on one of the couches

(28:48):
in the living room. So theybring CSI in, but they've got to
wait for the results to figure outwhose blood it is, if it's human
blood whatever. To be fair,we're still in Florida and they could have
found this side the road. Wedon't know. It could be a dead
animal that just died in there.Who knows it's put our living room.
So now Bill has become prime suspectand is about to make a huge mistake.

(29:08):
Oh okay, so now we're aMarion County. December twenty second,
two thousand and eight. Bill wasdriving and he was pulled over. The
cops ask for his driver's license andregistration. He knows that he is driving
around with an expired tag, sothat's what he's thinking. He's getting stopped
for whatever. I don't know why, he like Anyways, So the officer

(29:29):
comes back and he's like, Ineeded to get all of the car.
Ah, yeah you do. Andhe's like, well, I don't want
to get out of the car likehe's telling him. Like now, So
the officer arrests him for violating hisarson probation by crossing county lines. Oh.
Interesting, So this actually gave thedetectives some breathing room knowing where Bill
was. Now, like they aslong as he's in prison, they're going

(29:52):
to try to do their dartiest toget all the information so that they can
arrest him or keep him in jail, I guess, or find out what
the fuck's going on exactly, becausethey want to find her body, they
want to find any other evidence. They want to figure out did Bill actually
murder her. So as the investigationcontinues, they find out that the blood
on the couch in the apartment wasSabina's, but they have not found her
body or know what happened to her. So just because if somebody's blood is

(30:15):
on the cushion, it doesn't meanthat. I mean, people could bleed,
people do bleed, people do bleed. They can and they will,
they will, they will. Unfortunately, gears go by what Yeah, so
they can't there's no link to anything. They can't figure it out. Cheese.

(30:37):
It's now twenty eleven. Wow.Okay. So one of the homeowners
that lives near the beach where Iguess we're Sabina's or where the botel was,
he found Sabina's purse. He didn'tknow it at the time. He
found a purse that was like inthe dirt, in the sand. Yeah,
but he thought that it could behers, I guess because obviously it
is a small island and she isnot there anymore, and she's a topic

(30:59):
of many cars. She was animportant person on the island. Sure,
So he ended up calling the police. It was actually her purse. I
don't know how he couldn't just goin her purse and see if her idea
or whatever. Seriously, it doesn'tmatter. So the police came and they
dig the beach here's property where thething was found, to see if she's
there. But I think people onthe island they were they were concerned that

(31:21):
since her purse was there, thatshe was actually murdered. Like they're they're
so Okay, why would she leaveher person on the beach, right,
it would just be dumped there andthen all of a sudden just discovered three
years later. Correct, Yeah,So the investigators started digging the beach for
three weeks, never found a body. Gee, I know. So that
being said, finding the purse putnew life into the case. We found

(31:42):
other bodies, not just a herse, all kinds of bodies on the beach,
just not hers. I can't know. You can't bury somebody's body on
the beach, no way, thewater going in out no very quickly a
rodeom. Well, this purse endsup putting new life into this case and

(32:04):
focuses back on Bill, like allthese carried and the standard did like wash
ashore. The purse we we don'tknow because her body wasn't there, So
I don't know if it can washashore, though I would if it's like
out in the ocean, it could. If it's been three years, it's
possible gything inside it would probably destroyedthough, Yeah, I don't know what
the I don't know if the contents. Look, I didn't get a picture
of it. It was just areenactment. Dirty purse. He's like,

(32:25):
oh, sandy. He was alittle sandy. It was ruined. This
is ruined the leather. Okay,So this beach that they found, this,
like I said, was close toSabina's apartment with her with Bill,
and it was close to the hotel. It would have been walkable for Bill.
So they're just mental noting that itwas an important evidence because Bill didn't

(32:45):
actually have a car, so itwould have had to been walkable by would
he he would yeah, right,Okay, So the detective at this point
feels that they have enough evidence andthat Bill can be charged at this point
with murder. What still nobody? What? Um? But and he's like
and they're kind of worried because theydon't have a body, like and like
really no proof. It's like circumstantialevidence, a lot of it. I'm

(33:07):
gonna say, like they can't howthey charge to the murder without any evidence.
Some guy found a purse on thebeach. It doesn't prove anything.
Yeah, I don't know, Ithink. And they, I mean,
they're questioning themselves whether they have enoughevidence that they're trying to close his case.
They are, and but Bill isHe's smart enough to know that they
don't have a body right, Sothe chances of him getting out, he's

(33:29):
like, you're getting really cocky aboutit, and he's like, I'm not
going to be charged, or itstarts bragging in you know, in jail
that he's not gonna stay there forever. He's gonna get out. So when
his lawyers actually see the evidence againsthim, they say that he's probably gonna
get to the prison for the restof his life. So there has to
be other evidence that they haven't toldus. Bill's own lawyers. Yes,

(33:52):
yes, And there's only one wayto avoid it. And on October twelfth,
twenty and fifteen, a detective madefifteen Yeah, four years after they
found the purse, a detective madea plea offer to Bill's attorney and the
only way to avoid life from prisonis to tell them what happened to Sabina
and where her body is and hewould get a twenty year deal. Has

(34:14):
he been in prison this whole time? Yes, geez. Yeah. So
during this meeting with Bill on thisdeal that they were giving him, he
knew that he was trapped at thispoint and it was over, so he
was going to have to pay forwhat he did. Now, Bill ends
up spilling the beans on. Actually, what happened that night was Sabina when
she went missing. Oh okay,So he says they got in a fight

(34:37):
and she said that she didn't wantto be in this relationship anymore. She
was done with it, like she'sI'm sure this was kind of like a
last straw type thing, if Ihad to guess. He says that he
lost control, and he says hehit her in the head, knocked her
to the ground, and she wasscared. She was still alive. She
was scared and had covered her facewith her hands. He ended up reaching

(34:59):
down grabbed her throat, and heended up choking her to death. Wow.
Yes, So they asked him whathe did next, and he says
that he went out to dig ahole. Um. Then he came back
to the apartment, put her inthe car, and took her to the
place where he actually buried her.So he used her car. Sure makes

(35:19):
sense, right, So he leftthe car at a busy seated bar with
the keys in the ignition, hopingthat somebody would take it, which it
did happen, and then the focuswould be off of him. So I
just here's my thing. There's alot of holes, and I Okay,

(35:46):
So I feel like this was likelike a like a reaction, like it
wasn't something that was planned to killher premeditated. No, how did he
come up with all of these?Let me leave the car here to see
if somebody will take it? Like, how do you maybe just in't panic?
Because I don't. I agree.I don't think it was like premeditated.
It was just like him being constantlyout of control right right, and

(36:09):
then just like a oh fuck panicmode put her in the car unfortunately buries
her. And then which is like, ah, maybe I just abandoned the
car. I don't know. Idon't know like that, I don't unless
he's like thought about it before andI did plan it, but was like
what would I do in this situationwith her? I mean, I guess
he didn't have a problem like burninghis ex girlfriend's apartment while she was a

(36:30):
good history. No, no,he don't think he cares about human life.
Doesn't sound like no, very reactive. Right. So now we know
at this point that Robert wasn't actuallyan unwilling victim of this murder because he
was just he just stole his secondstory that he changed too, which is
usually not the true one. What'sactually the true one? Yeah, so

(36:51):
he was that's true. Like he'sokay, he's just a car stealer.
He's like, guys, my robberywas legit. There was actually happened,
and you know what, he murderedsomebody. Look at me. I'm a
great saint. Now, Oh Ijust stole something. I didn't kill anybody.
Geez. I don't know. SoBill is like a scarily smart guy

(37:15):
in my eyes, because he's likethinking about all these details and all these
a sociopath. Yeah, yeah,he just doesn't care. So after the
interview, they have Bill take thedetectives out to where he buries Sabina.
So it's on the same road asHayley's motel, and they say it's at
the end of the street, whichI don't I guess we're the beach were

(37:36):
the street into the bar, Likeyou can't go any further other than the
water. Okay, I don't know. It just sounded weird. So they
take the shackled Bill out of thecar, like he's completely shackled, and
they have him show them where heburied her. So he said that he
picked this place because it was inproximity of the motel, and he was
hoping that they thought that Tom hadmurdered her instead of him. Okay,
I'm starting to think premeditated now kindof, but I'm I mean, as

(38:00):
here's the problem. It's like,if he was acting out of like emotion
and rage, he wouldn't have strangledher. He just hit her in the
head and then just been like,Okay, that was the rage in the
emotion. That's true, but likeit takes time to strangle somebody. Correct
correct, So like that whole time, he knows what the fuck he's doing,
and he knows he's a monster, right yeah, So at no part

(38:22):
and that does he stop that healready plans in his head, Oh well,
if I go close to the motel, they'll think it was Tom and
not me if they find her.So I feel he already had a spot
figured out because he was prepared enoughto dig a hole. That's maybe it
was just at the point of maybehe didn't necessarily was planning on murdering her
that night, but maybe he wasplaying thinking. It's like he had scenarios.

(38:44):
Maybe it does feel a little bitpremeditated, a little bit. Okay,
So they get sea Aside to comeout they start digging where he says
that she's at, and they findher. So Bill combers his last name.
I don't think I said that before. But Bill was as to twenty
years in prison as part of hisplea deal. Right, And this gave
closure to Sabina's family and her husband. And she was again such a vibrant

(39:08):
person on the island and part ofso many people's lives. It's sad that
it ended this way. Yeah. All of her friends, they kind of
they talked about how perfect, notperfect, how how great she was,
and then how they missed her.Of course it's a little bit of but
it's not great. No. Idon't think she deserved to die, of
course, that's what I mean.I think it's just him. I think

(39:29):
he's a sociopath. Yeah, shejust happened. He was very charismatic.
Yeah, he was very nice toher. Yeah. And she tell you
any of the red flags? Yeah, I told it's too late. Not
victim shaming by any means, No, Sam, It's just she didn't see
his red flag. No, shewas blinded by the spark. Blinded by

(39:49):
the light is a song, Oh, blinded by the spark. Well,
that's sad, but I'm like,at least there's a conclusion to it,
Yeah, not like a still amystery, you know. Yeah, there
was a lot of like things withthis. I don't know. There's a
lot of people involved, and Ijust it's crazy how long it sucked though,
I know, twenty fifteen. Yeah, it's a long time. Yeah,

(40:13):
he probably thought he was gonna sevenyears, so I'm sure he was
like, da having found me now, Yeah, what a douchebag. Crazy.
It's a disgusting situation. Man.The confession you're hearing taking place just
hours before William Cumber want officers outunder home speech last Thursday, pointing out

(40:35):
where he buried the woman he murderedseven years earlier, his then girlfriend,
forty nine year old Sabina musel Bueller, all part of a plea deal were
Cumber avoided a life sentence. Shewas no longer showing any signs of life.
What did you do? At thatpoint? I just I couldn't believe
what I did. I stared stareddown at her, but what he had

(40:55):
done minutes before, in the nightof November fourth, two thousand and eight,
bone Hill, I lose control.I hit her in the head,
Okay, with her hand fist.According to Cumbert, both he and Bueller
had been drinking at home when Buelercaught him smoking a cigarette. Upset and
thinking cumber had quit, Bueller reportedlytried ending their relationship. That's when Cumbert

(41:19):
admits to hitting her twice as shedressed on the couch, then reached him,
grabbed your throat and started children.Cumber says Bueller did not fight back
and went limp. Already on parole, cumber decided there was no way he
was going back to prison. Asheet off the bed, okay, I
rolled her up in it. Itwas around midnight, and before dragging Bueller

(41:42):
to her car and putting her bodyin the backseat, Cumbert told authorities he
made sure no neighbors were around, then grabbed a shovel. I thought of
a place to put her. Justa quarter mile from the home they shared
on Magnolia Avenue. Mueller was buriedin a three feet deep hole under a
hut on home. Speech. Theymust just seem like the most unexpected spot

(42:04):
in Manatee County. Jack Lenning Lace, ABC Action News, screw you Bill,
