Born and raised in a town just north of Pittsburgh, Karen has been proud to call Occoquan District her home for the past 19 years. Karen and Mark, her husband of 25 years, raised two sons in Prince William County.
Karen is a graduate of Clarion University with a B.S. in Secondary Education and UVA with a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. She has been in the field of education for 22 years, serving in various roles in Fairfax County Public Schools, including high school English teacher, English Department Chair, Assessment Coach, and administrator in both middle and high school. She has been a Subschool Principal at Mt. Vernon High School for the past 6 years.
Karen believes that the community members of Occoquan District deserve to have a strong voice on the Board who will make decisions that are in the best interest of our children and our community.
